It was our first time visiting this establishment and we were not disappointed. We were sat quickly and our server (who doubled as the bartender) came over in a timely manner to take our drink order. We ordered the guacamole as an appetizer and although not the best guacamole I've had it was still pretty good. Chips and salsa were provided and we asked for queso which arrived promptly and piping hot. For our main dishes we ordered the chicken burrito meal and the Mex Burger. The burrito contained fresh ingredients which were delicious. The burger was delicious and oozing with cheese. The drinks though?!!! They are amazing! Perfect mix of kick and sweet we had the passion fruit daiquiri and the passion fruit margarita. Overall recommend a visit here. read more

Very loud restaurant and tables are crammed together. I had shrimp tacos that were tasteless and dry. I was told we could only sit at our table for 1.5 hours. I asked for a booth as there were booths open and I was told no. The older hostess was rude and not helpful. I will back! read more

Was here this past weekend with my sister, her three kids (1 1/2 yr old, 7 yr old and 13 yr old) and our mom. Very nice hidden gem. Friendly family type place. I got a taco bowl. Had beef, refried beans and can customized it with what you want. Good food, my sister got a margarita and was not to her liking but we still had a blast and the youngest was a hit with staff! Mom and I will go here again. Food was good, plus they bring out chips and salsa to munch on while you wait for your food (not bad). We went on a Saturday evening and it wasn't too crowded but next time for large parties might think about making reservations (but not needed), they provide coloring placemats and crayons for the younger kids! Mexican Table was recommended to me by a colleague and her review was spot on. My husband and I were quickly seated at a nicely cleaned booth table. Our server Ricardo took our drink orders right away. For our meal we enjoyed guacamole appetizer and then a shrimp and scallop fajita and the Veracruzana catfish. The place is in my neighborhood, so I gave them a try and ordered a grilled chicken taco platter to go on Taco Tuesday. For $12 the platter came with grilled chicken, 3 soft tacos, a side of black beans, a tiny side of salsa (like in a container you would put ketchup in) and a similarly tiny side of Queso. They said they gave me free chips, but they weren't in the bag. I've gotten taco platters elsewhere and they usually come with other stuff like lettuce, tomatoes, onions and maybe even guacamole. The grilled chicken was good, but overall I felt like I got short changed. Perhaps they do a better job of feeding customers who sit down at the restaurant. I won't be back to find out. Better to order food from the places next door including Quinns, Pat's Pizza or the Chinese place. I always get my money's worth at those locations. Spent $12 plus tip and still felt hungry. read more

Just eat here. The wait is worth it. Probably the best Mexican spot in northern delaware. The food and drinks were better than we could have imagined even on a super busy Saturday night. Will most definitely be making the 30 min drive from home to come back. First I want to start with out of all the Mexican restaurants we've been to this is one of the few that the food came out hot ( temp ). The black beans on my plate were still letting off steam. But that's most of the positive. We started with the Guacamole and Queso dips. Each came with their own tortilla chips. The chips with the queso were warm and crisp the chips with the guac were thicker and hard. The flavor and consistency of the queso was good, the guac was bland, needed a little lime and salt, at very least, salt. For entrees, my wife doesn't care for corn tortillas and requested her table enchiladas and they accommodated, another positive. I had the duck enchiladas. For both plates, the rice and beans were seasoned well, but both entrees were on the bland side. We were disappointed, especially since my wife loves to go for Mexican on her birthday which was Sunday and this turned out to be less than stellar. read more

We got take out from this restaurant yesterday. There are definite improvements that need to be made. 1. Punch up the flavor in your food. For me, The food didn't have enough flavor, spices etc. In my opinion, the flavor was not distinguishable. 2. I felt the vegetables in my dish was a mix of stale and fresh vegetables. My husband and I recently moved to the Newark/Hockessin area. We had always enjoyed good Mexican food so decided to try Mexican Table in Hockessin. It was so good! We told our waitress we were new to the area and this was our first trip to her restaurant. While we waited for our order, the chef (I believe he said his name was 'Nick' and my apologies if I'm not remembering it correctly) brought a watermelon salad for each of us to try. He said he'd heard we'd just moved here and he wanted to welcome us. We were so surprised!! The salad was delicious! Their chips and salsa are tasty and our cheese quesadilla and the rest of our lunch were superb!! Well definitely be back! Thanks for your kindness and for welcoming us. read more

This is my favorite restaurant around! The food is consistently good along with the service. The chef's specials are imaginative and delicious. Poblano soup, Chile en Nogado, and yes even the burger are superior. If you are vegan they can assist you with several options. The veg enchilada (sans queso) was so good too!
