down the best sandwich in Indianapolis I have ever had. I was greedy and also has had the Quesadillas Fritas con Chorizo, it was okay. My wife had a mug of champurrado to drink and Pozole Rojo de Pollo (which is a healthier option to the traditional pork). We will continue to eat here. The service is great and the food is spectacular. The lines can be long though so beware, but good things come to those who wait.

Had the Pambazo which is a sandwich where the bread is dipped in red sauce and fried. The filling is potatoes and chorizo lettuce and mayo. It was amazing. Hubby had tamales and said they were also very good We will be back.

What a hidden gem here in Indianapolis. I was blown away by my first visit. A couple buddies and I were starving after spending some time near the speedway. We popped in here on a random afternoon, and they were packed during lunch. We sat down, looked over the menus, and placed our orders. The place was clean, not too loud, and appropriately decorated. Service was to be expected for the type of place it is. Food was out fast. I had four steak tacos. Plenty of juicy steak with fresh veggies. Best tacos I've had in Indiana. Eager to return to try some other items on the menu.

I turned on my Yelp radar and ended up here. Forty-nine of Indy's top Yelpers say it's a 5.0. And I thought so too. The place is not fancy or upscale or trendy. It's a hole in the wall with 11 tables. You order at the counter and grab a seat. The menu is in Spanish but they gave me a partially English version when I looked baffled. The food looks authentic, not the usual enchiladas and pinto beans. The clerk is friendly and helpful. I ordered the Chicken Tacos Dorados, which are rolled up tacos that are deep fried and then covered with cream cheese, lettuce and avocado. The plate was so beautiful, it could have been served in a super high-end restaurant. And the tacos were crunchy and delicious. The avocado was perfectly ripe and creamy. My husband had the Tamales Fritos with chicken which were two large deep fried tamales, covered in a green sauce and topped with cheese. Again, beautiful, spicy and delicious plate. They have a kid's menu. The breakfast menu looks awesome too. When we left, the tables were full. The parking lot was also full. I recommend going off-peak hours. They don't take reservations. I'm number 50 to say 5.0.

A local find with the most authentic greasy yet delicious Mexican food. We ordered enchiladas and quesadillas and mind you the portions looked okay but boy we were so full and stuffed up in the end. Absolutely no space to eat more. We enjoyed our meal and service was so polite and nice.

Was in town for Taylor swift and stumbled upon this hidden gem. Family owned business serving delicious Mexican food. We came here on a Sunday afternoon and the line was through the door. The restaurant is on the smaller side but cozy. We ordered and paid at the counter. The server taking the order was very nice. Service was quick, and served us a table to accommodate all the food we ordered. The horchata came out first and it tasted great. It was mixed well and has a good amount of cinnamon. Our tacos had a lot of meat in them and it was still hot which made it delicious. The fried tamale was unique to us and was surprisingly good. Their green sauce was one of the best I've had and brings a good sour flavor. It was my first time having the pambazo and it was great. The bread was fried and had a good crisp. It goes well with the steak and potatoes inside. The pozole rojo with pork was good as well. Good soup flavor and pork was very tender. We also got the tacos dorados and they were fried perfectly. It was crispy and the tinga de res was tender. Overall great environment and dining experience with delicious food! Would love to come back if I'm back in Indiana again!

What an absolute gem in Indy! Everything we got was delicious and fresh and the service was fast and friendly. I wish I lived closer, I'd be here every week!! Love the music they played too- muy chilanga! We will be back the next time we're in Indy, even if it's out of the way!

Saw a lot of solid reviews, so I stopped in for lunch, and was not disappointed. They have a full menu, and make it convenient for those whose Spanish may be a little rusty (ha)! Be that as it may, I ordered a Pambazo, and it was loaded with potato, chorizo, and fresh cheese. The hot sauces will wake you up quickly. A small little shop with a few tables. Not much of a wait, but you know you're getting something fresh-fresh. Definitely worth a try, and now on my "must return" list. Well done!

We stopped in here on a Tuesday night to have a little a "Taco Tuesday" at home while watching a movie after work. It is a very small space inside due to the dining area being immediately to the left and then a small walkway up to the register with no designated to/from traffic (just kinda trying to squeeze around people). All of the staff and other customers were very friendly though! They have a large digital menu in English and Spanish above the registers, but they also have English and Spanish versions of their menu on the entry way table. We each got 2 tacos (I got the pastor, he got the campechano) and a Gordita clasica. We got home to plate them and pair with some chips, salsa, and guacamole and were pleasantly surprised at how THICK the tacos were. They were piled with meat, cilantro, and onions. Definitely the best price point for the amount of food out of any taco spot on the West side we have tried so far. Both were very flavorful and had tender meat, nothing was overcooked or dried out. The Gordita clasica was also really flavorful and I loved the different textures. The orange hot sauces are always our favorite everywhere we go for tacos and we were not disappointed! So spicy and had great flavor. The green hot sauce had a slight hint of heat to it as well and was also very tasty. We can't wait to come back and try more off of their menu!

Brushing off that high school-level Spanish knowledge in order to order. I went with the quesadilla with frijoles (beans) and also an agua fresco (lemon, mint, cucumber flavor). For the amount of money and how filling and delicious it was, I would highly recommend. Small space for dining in, but definitely enough for small groups!

This was my first time and I was a little nervous about ordering because the entire menu posted was in Spanish. You order and pay at the counter. The cashier helped me figure out what I wanted to order. There was a long line behind me out the door. It's that good! I can't remember what I got specifically by name. It looked like a torta but instead of the traditional meats and cheeses on the torta, it had a chicken tamale in Verde sauce. It was fantastic! I also had just a plain chicken tamale. Great spot for authentic and delicious Mexican food. Huevos rancheros was perfect, tacos - way above average- and the aguas fresca- wow (lemon mint and I think cucumber). Menu is Spanish only, but they have an electronic menu board with very accurate pictures of many items. read more

This is a new restaurant that just opened...I heard of this place so I wanted to try it. We loved it! The menu has unique dishes from southern Mexico we loved trying. The place was very clean and the business owner was very attentive. She used her own family recipes and runs her business with a lot of Care and hospitality. We will definitely be coming back! Not only is the food fresh, flavorful and cooked like you went to casa de abuela, the front of house team had even put up with my poor attempts to speak Spanish and offered to help me learn when I come in. I was appreciative of this because I get intimidated not knowing Spanish and going into a restaurant where that is the primary language. The staff was kind and attentive. Only regret is telling you how awesome this place is bc it's busy enough that I don't want to extend my wait! read more

The best Mexican street food place I've encountered so far (being from Mexico). We ordered the gorditas clásica and gordita ahogada and both were the delicious. The salsas were the right amount of hot and the best flavor. We also recommend the aguas frescas we tried agua de limón y pepino con menta and horchata. The food was delicious! We got chicken and steak tacos, a cheese quesadilla and some fresh fruit juices. All so fresh and outstanding. This is a small place, but the flavors are big. Visited for the second time this past week and really enjoyed it again. I had a couple of street tacos (one carne asada, one chorizo) and they were delicious. My wife had a Gordita, which she really enjoyed. The menu is apparently true Mexico City street food, you probably won't find anything like it anywhere else in Indy. The restaurant was clean and neat. The staff was patient and helpful. Lots of Mexican options for drinks. Prices aren't clearly posted that I could see, but were very reasonable. Next time I'll get four of the tacos. SO GOOD. read more

I took my friend to dinner for her birthday. She had three different tacos and I tried the Huarache (which I'd never had before). One word...DELICIOUS!!!! I couldn't decide between the green or red sauce so they suggested I have half and half. When I order this again sometime soon, I will definitely go with the green sauce. My wife and I found this place on yelp and decided to give it a chance . Food was good and prices were fair costumer service was also great and friendly. Place looks clean and the menu is ample. It's a small place so not many tables . I went with wife and kids and didn't really had to wait for a table , seems like most people take their food To go .I tried little bit of everything kids tried tortas and tacos so as my wife we had 5 drinks and plenty of food and it was big total of $60. Food look pretty authentic, not like el rodeo or Los patios this place is really authentic Mexican food . I think is the closets you will get to Mexican food here in Indy . We will be back to try more dishes . read more

This is the sweet heat combo, it's fantastic. Richelle got a sweet corn tamale, with a steak and tilapia taco. The mild salsa for the taco had a purée texture and a little kick, I put it on my tamales. Richelle thought it was too spicy for her, it really wasn't. Service is fast and friendly, and we were there on Christmas Eve, so they were playing Christmas music, tamales and classic Christmas music was fun. These are hand made with love, so they do run out of some tamales, check the board for what is available.

When i came back I ordered 2 shrimp tacos and 1 pescado taco! And they gave me a free churro to go!

He is a native Californian and knows good Mexican food so we trusted him. They did not have the carnitas that I ordered so I ended up ordering fish tacos. They were really good. My son likes the place and has eaten there a couple of times. My husband was happy with the beef fajitas as well. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. You can watch the World Cup while dining as well.

There's nothing basic about borage and I love that! This place is a gem. They also have a cafe/market area where you can order drinks and pastries. I wish we waited until we got seated to order drinks because the menu was much more extensive than what I saw in the cafe and I would have ordered a different drink had I seen all the other options. The staff here are also very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our little brunch and will be back with family next time!
