Very basic Mexican food. I was excited when we got in the parking lot and the restaurant wasn't packed, since everything else on the street was on a Friday night. I was hoping it's just because Mexican food isn't popular on the east coast. We first thought maybe we'd just take it back to the hotel but the hostess advised that they could not take to go orders because they were too busy. The restaurant was half full. That's sad. I got the taco and enchilada combo. Cheese enchilada was uninspired and I hope that was canned sauce because if it wasn't someone needed to hang up their recipe. I had a hard time cutting it in places with the side of my fork as well as a butter knife. Not sure why. The taco was a bright spot. Shell was crunchy and the meat had some flavor. It came with a huge serving of refried beans. My wife had the chalupa (which is a fried taco here) and enchilada. She didn't care much for any of it. We also ordered some queso, which was a thin, white, and flavorless cheese. The hot sauce wasn't very flavorful at all. The highlight was the order of jalapeños. I like some fresh jalapeño. Looked a good place to eat tonight and decided on this one. There was a wait of 15 minutes which is pretty good. The stream of people coming in seemed like a good thing. We were seated but no wait staff came to our table. About 10-15 minutes after sitting down someone dropped off a basket of chips and some salsa. No one came to our table to take our drink or food order despite several members of the wait staff walked by. After 20 minutes from being seated I got up and when to the hostess to ask who our server was. She had been very busy taking down names and seating people. She came immediately over and took out order. A few minutes later she brought our drinks and offered to make our kids food immediately as it was getting late. Their tacos arrived about 10 minutes later. My wife's food (a shrimp dish) came out 25 minutes after we put in our order (45 minutes after sitting down) and my tacos came 3-4 minutes after that. We received no utensils so I had to get some from the hostess station. My wife's shrimp dish was ok, but not great. My carne asada tacos had a lot of meat but the steak was not seasoned at all. I was also supposed to get a side of rice and beans but they never showed up. We finished eating and no one came to bring our check. We estimated what our check out be and left some cash to cover the bill. The issue seems to be a management problem. Some of the waitresses hustled (the hostess who helped us was running through the restaurant) but other waiters seemed to walk about. Like the chants you hear in old Mexico, I always heard "Don't eat the Mexican Food in Carolina!" Mexican Lindo is but a short walk from Ocean Avenue, where my hotel was. When I arrived I noticed that the staff was friendly and the decor was appropriate. Lit just right. The menu had many Tex-Mex offerings. It was certainly more "Tex-Mex" than authntic Mexican Food" as the sign bosted. The chips and salsa were good. I had the cheese enchiladas with queso, which was great too. The refried beans and rice hit the mark. Of course, they had tacos, burritos, chimichangas and the like. The other reviews are correct, the margarita was great as well. I don't mean to come off as aggressive but something like this should definitely be known to others. I received the ACP chicken and it came back literally so hot the cheese was boiling. We hit this place every year. 1 of 2 Mexican restaurants we actually enjoy eating at. Had the Burrito California chicken and it was amazing.

Before a night of Karaoke and dancing my friends and I needed needed to fuel up. We sat down and within a couple minutes we were munching on chips and salsa (my favorite part of Mexican restaurants). We perused the menu and found it not to be incredibly interesting; just the basic taco, burritos, fajitas found at any typical Mexican establishment. Being in such a touristy town I expected to be wowed. We ordered, we ate, and we left. Nothing really too spectacular or memorable. I do remember the prices being decent, so go here if you're not trying to break the bank. read more

This place is very popular with the locals, so when our friends wanted to go we reluctantly went along because I'm not that fond of Tex Mex style food. As it turns out, this place is a step above most of the gringo Mexican places around town and I really enjoyed it. Started with a mango margarita that was good mix of sweet and sour with plenty of tequila, thank goodness I was passenger on this trip because a couple of these were very relaxing. The chips were warm and crispy but the table salsa was pretty bland. We ordered cheese dip and it was good, pretty standard style. I went with the tacos al pastor, a surprising find in a Tex Mex place. I usually only see them in smaller taqueria type places. The pork was tender, a bit spicy with the sweetness of being cooked in pineapple juice. They came on two toasted corn tortillas and were topped with pico de gallo instead of onions and cilantro like street style versions. A very good version all in all. My friends ordered a variety of typical items like burritos, chimichangas and fajitas. Everyone in the party seemed to enjoy their food, I noticed most of their plates were clean. They have a weekday lunch buffet that some in the group spoke very highly about, so might have to give that a shot next time. read more

Definitely my go to restaurant in Myrtle to get my Mexican fix. Conveniently located near all the tourist attractions but not where traffic is an issue. Can't beat the excellent freshly prepared authentic food at a fraction of the price of their competitors. Amazing staff who are quick, friendly and highly professional. We are here this evening! The food was okay ! The service was ridicules! We arrived around 7:05pm was greeted by a Server we had only been to this place one other time! It was amazing. This time the server kept coming to our table ever 2 mins (witch is fine ) to see if we were ready to order told him to give us a few minutes. He then came back 15 minutes later (the same people that had arrived the same time we had was already getting there food)! He finally came back to take our order after forgetting all the stuff we had requested (cheese Dip, salt)! We had to ask for refills !! When he came with a water then spilt it on my leg ! Then our food arrived! Food like I said was okay mot as good as I remember it to be ! Not even a check back after our food had arrived to even ask how everything was until 10 mins into eating he brings the check and said here's this ! So he finally ask if we needed refills brought back our drinks and was refilling a sweet tea and spilt it again that also dropped on my leg !! He kinda oh laughed it off! Said would you like some napkins ( at this point I was getting frustrated) I said yea I don't want to walk around the rest of the night with tea on my f**ing leg! Stopped in with my family this week for the first time. We enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa, our waiter asked if we wanted to try the hot sauce so of course we said yes! That stuff is HOT with great flavor! My dad and uncle enjoyed their margaritas and my boyfriend loved his michalata. A good place to go for authentic Mexican food. The tortilla chips they start you out with are so good! As is the salsa! I ordered the chimichangas which were great. The boyfriend ordered the four tacos. The tacos come with ALOT of cilantro so if you aren't big on cilantro, I'd suggest ordering them without. Literally the worst service ever. They got busy when we first arrived, so we were understanding! But then it just got worse and worse. Had to ask more than once for my initial glass of water. Had to ask for a refill on chips and dip (which isn't THAT big of a deal... but with everything else, it just did not help). Was not checked on after food was served. When the food was served, not everything came out at once. We waited about five minutes for the tortillas. Which meant that our food was no longer hot once we could finally eat it. Was not given water refills. Was not asked if I wanted another mixed drink after I had finished my first one. After we were done with our meal, we waited about FORTY FIVE minutes for the check. Once he came and asked us if we wanted the check, we still waited about ten minutes to even get it! So in total we waited about 55min for the check. When he brought it to us we had stood up and were just waiting for him with the cards because who the heck knew how long it would take to get them back. I was visiting Myrtle Beach just for one day, that's why I was tring to make best of it. This place definitely helped me to achieve that goal. I have never Yelped before but I had to for Mexica Lindo. I have never been to a restaurant this bad. After waiting ten minutes for a server, we went to the front to ask for one. Fifteen minutes later we finally got our drinks. We did not have silverware or napkins or food, but at least we had drinks. Thank God we drank them slow because there are no refills in the foreseeable future at this waste of space. I never thought an establishment could single handedly ruin my night but Mexico Lindo really did it in. I asked for the chips and white sauce and they DONT SERVE WHITE SAUCE. What kind of piece of crap mexican restaurant doesn't serve white sauce???? And then the workers began laughing behind our backs because we asked for it. Morale of the story: if you want to get absolutely zero service and wait an hour for food and drinks, go here. However, your time may be better spent jumping off a building. read more
