From the time that we entered the building, the staff seemed like they didn't want to be bothered. The chips and the drinks were quick to the table. The food, while also quick to the table was extremely bland. There was very little flavor to the ground beef in the burrito, and the chicken in the tamale was dry and tough. I took my wife out for lunch. The restaurant is located in Southpoint off exit 126, across from Goodyear, Taco Bell and on a corner lot. Theres plenty of parking and as you walk in, the interior decor is amazing to look at. We order 6 items: 1) Steak quesadillas 2) Hard taco 3) Soft taco 4) Steak fajitas 5) Trio enchiladas 6) Tres leches. The steak quesadillas were delicious that arrive to the table with the essential refried beans, yellow rice, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce and tomato. I order the beef hard taco and chicken soft taco a la carte. They both were tasty but the soft taco were full of flavor. It's always great to hear the sizzling and smell of the steak, peppers and onions arriving to the table. It's accompanied by hot foiled soft tortillas and a platter of the essential condiments as you make your own wrap. The trio enchiladas were very good too but the chicken tends to be a little dry. The dessert- tres leches were delicious and moist. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. We will make another visit to try other items on the menu. read more

Plain. If you are looking for a description of Mexico Palace, it is the word plain. I ordered the Jumbo margarita on the rocks. Did it contain all the ingredients of a margarita, sure but no salt on the rim and no flavor. The salsa is closer to tomato soup than salsa and bland. Ordered the beef fajitas and there wasn't a pinch of spice anywhere in that dish. Somehow they found a way to take tortillas. A basic staple food in Mexico and make it more basic. It breaks my heart to write this, as my family and I have been day-one customers... coming over from the smaller place. My family from out of town come in looking for Cadillac Margaritas (the best) and we literally head there to celebrate almost every special occasion. Speaking of... my son's friends took him there for his birthday. They came home from college looking forward to the food, drinks and just hanging out, as previously mentioned, this is our place. After receiving their food and beginning to eat, one of them found a large roach in their food. They quietly called someone over and the plate was immediately whisked away, but not before getting a picture. They were advised that the one meal will be replaced at no charge. However, what proceeded to happen afterwards was horrendous. The staff then kept an eye on them and fundamentally circled them the entire time, as if they had done something wrong. The staff, including management, wanted to ensure that they did not skip out on the bill. THE AUDACITY!!! DID ALL OF THE MEALS COME FROM THAT KITCHEN? That is an apology and full refund. Suppose if they did skip out on the bill...would it behoove them to make a scene or call the police? ...especially since it was addressed discreetly. The young men never finished their food... they were feeling awkward and they were ready to leave. They were all raised right, so they paid their bill and left. Even after paying their bill... they were being looked at, as if they did something wrong. After hearing about the situation and seeing how terrible they all felt, it took me sometime to calm down. I did pay MEXICO PALACE a visit to address the situation... they are very familiar with my family and I. I came in asking by names. The Manager kindly offered to refund all of the young men, but that is not the issue. How dare you charge them at all... what were you thinking? Why would you treat them so poorly... that was your roach ... What did they do? What was it that made you feel ok with disrespecting them? YOU SIMPLY CANNOT REFUND HOW YOU MAKE A PERSON FEEL! My son has this sick look in his face when how he was made to feel comes up... that is a terrible feeling from the inside. Before I posted, I made sure to let them know who we are... longtime customers and that it was going to be shared. Make no mistake we are not disgruntled customers just giving you a hard time or making things up. You know exactly who we are... I even shared my full name. HAD ONE ASPECT OF THIS BEEN DIFFERENT YOU WOULD HAVE ADDRESSED THIS TACTFULLY... WE DISCUSSED THIS FACE TO FACE. YOU CANNOT REFUND HOW YOU MAKE A PERSON FEEL! I will work on these young men to understand the value of their dollars and to know that you are not being disrespectful... when you are being disrespected. A refund cannot fix everything... My family loved this place! We are regulars at this point! My husband has tried a majority of the items of the menu and he genuinely enjoys all of them! I have a couple favorites that I throughly enjoy! The kids menu is also really good! We enjoy most of the waiters/waitresses there, they are very nice and make sure to get you what you need or ask if it's possible. It is clean, pretty calm environment, kid friendly, and they just had some renovations done for new seating as well. We've taken several people there and everybody has enjoyed it! After several visits with the same result, I had to weigh in. This place is Mexican garbage food. Absolutely no love given to any dish. It's a cultural embarrassment. Order a quesadilla and you literally get cheese melted on a tortilla in a way that makes you feel a homeless person made it in the microwave of a 7-Eleven. Burrito or Enchilada? Pay close attention because the only difference is the enchilada has red sauce on the top. Have it all with some watery salsa from a jar. Such a shame because the location is great. We have been going to Mexico Palace for years (we started going there when located in the strip mall). Yesterday it took us 3 times to get a table and the restaurant was empty. Our server took our order, my husband order grilled chicken quesadillas off of the appetizer menu because he wanted GRILLED CHICKEN and a order of rice. He even pointed it out on the menu to our server in hopes of getting the right item. The sever changed the order into a pick 2 order. The quesadillas he got were gross! The chicken was shredded, had peppers in it and looked like cat food. I told him to send them back but he wouldn't. He said he's pick the peppers out and talk to the owner when we left. The place has a chain feel to it. We all got margaritas which tasted like pre-mix only. I also didn't like that they don't list the drink prices. The WORST part of dinner was the fact there was a metal part INSIDE one of our burritos (see photo). When we flagged down the waitress to investigate and get another dish, she found out "it was part of the cook's knife that fell off- he was wondering where the other piece went because we weren't the only one to find it in our food".... uhm in my opinion if you found out there was a dangerous object missing- would you let the food go out?! That place is lucky no one chipped a tooth or choked. Then she asked if we wanted another dish- YES because who knows what else is hiding inside THAT burrito. We felt bad making our friends wait so we got the entree to go and nibbled on the chips and salsa to satisfy us. The highlight of this place? I ordered a $46.16 order online, someone please enlighten me to how the order processes twice then I'm required to pay third time in person? My credit is A1, no issues whatsoever never once had an issue with 800+ Credit, not a single late bill. Spoke with the manager, explained the situation online he stated it's fine the credit company will only process one order & I can pick up my food, I show up & immediately and told I have to pay a third time & the manager has apparently left and I cannot get a hold of him. I wasn't planning on eating out this evening, but our errands ran over, so my husband and I decided to go for Mexican tonight. We have never eaten at Mexico Palace and decided to give it a whirl. From my understanding on reading the reviews, this restaurant was once in another building, but is now re opened in a new building. The inside and the outside of the restaurant are very clean and well kept. Modern Mexican décor with bright colors accent the restaurant, but it's not over the top. They also have a lot of warm colors accentuating throughout, which gives it a cozy feel. Nice music playing in the background, but not too loud. They have a full service bar, off from the dining area. It looked very classy. We came in on a Monday night. There were some tables occupied, but obviously they were not overly busy. We were greeted with a smile immediately, and seated at a booth. Just looking around, I can tell you that this place is quite big, and can accommodate a lot of patrons. Within a minute, someone brought us a basket of chips, salsa and a mexi ranch dip. He took our beverage orders, which was water with lemon. We looked over the menu. They had a nice variety of choices. When he arrived back, he asked if we were ready to order, at which point I noted that we were. My husband and i ordered the fajitas for 2, with the steak and chicken mix, double beans and no rice. Our food was brought out in less than 10 minutes, steaming hot and piled high! The steak and chicken alone were quite flavorful, the beans had a very good consistency and were standard fare. There was a nice dollop of sour cream and guacamole on the side dishes, along with a little cheese, tomato and lettuce that was fresh, and not wilted. The chips are the thicker type, which I prefer the thin, but they were okay. The salsa had a spicy, yet sweet flavor, and was neither thin, nor super thick. My husband loved the white mexi ranch, which I found to be too sweet for my palate. But he talked about it even after we left, stating that he would like to find out where he could buy some. We had great service in a very clean establishment. The food was delicious and the portions were large. Our fajitas were overflowing! Although this isn't my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area, (Pueblos Restaurant holds my 1st place spot), this is a close 2nd place contender in my opinion. My husband has rated this his Number 1! If dining with friends and family however, I certainly would bring them to this establishment, as they have a larger restaurant to accommodate a crowd, as I mentioned above. And they have unlimited chips and salsa, which they do not charge you for refills on, like Pueblos does. Moreover, the servers were friendlier. Our bill was just under $25 for 2. Not impressed, the food was bland. We ordered take out and we received our sides in small styrofoam boxes. The sour cream seeped out of the sides and the picture really does not do it justice because we cleaned up the mess. We spent over $60 in food and did not get to enjoy this meal. Also picking up the order, I certainly did not feel welcomed to enter the restaurant. The man at the pickup counter brushed me off and made it clear he did not want my service. We were sitting at a high-top in the bar section and even with 4-6 servers around bar all they did was talk to each other and play on their phones. I had to get up to get anyone's attention. Food was ok, I'm writing this 4 months later and I cannot remember what we had, but I do know the beer hubby got was HUGE!! To start, they serve tortilla chips with salsa (not chunky, more of a slurry consistency) and an amazing dip (it's house made) they could probably sell this as a salad dressing in stores! I had the chicken soup. I'm a bit of a soup snob so when I say it was delicious it's the highest compliment I can give. The soup consisted of cilantro, onions, carrots, zucchini & squash in a tomato broth and "LOTS" of shredded chicken. For my meal I had the huevos rancheros which came with yellow rice and refried beans. I didn't care much for the sauce on the eggs but all else was perfect. My husband had the soft chicken chimichanga it was also served with yellow rice and refried beans. He enjoyed the tenderness and freshness of the chimichanga.
