The food here is delicious! I've been to the previous El Patrón that was a block away many times and I was so anxious to check out the new spot. This is the bigger and newer replacement. It's absolutely beautiful and it's very clear that there was a lot of detail that went into the new restaurant. It's called el gran patron and it's definitely "gran" (great). Upon arrival, you will likely be annoyed with the parking situation. It's a long row with more space further from the restaurant. It's busy and rightfully so. Once you enter the restaurant, you arrive to a pretty entrance. Depending on when you come, it could be very full and that's what happened to me and my family but we got sat way faster than expected. We asked for a server named, Camilo. He's really good and was the best at the previous location. His seating area is near the bar since he's also a bartender. The seating areas include outdoor seating, indoor seating of booths , and indoor seating of chairs. The ambiance is very chill and with the mariachis (Friday) and likely the weekend, it is very fun and lively! The prices are very reasonable and the portions are respectable. With food prices rising and restaurants taking advantage of it, it's currently a great deal (10/11/24). I ordered the fajitas Texanas which are fajitas consisting of steak, chicken, and shrimp. The fajitas include seasonings of onions, tomatoes, and sliced bell peppers. My meal is also served with rice, beans, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, and tortillas . The other meals ordered were the burrito de pony which is a Patron Special (filled with grilled chicken, steak, shrimp, bacon, Mexican white rice, and black beans. It's topped with chipotle sauce, guacamole, and pico de gallo) and the patron quesadilla (includes grilled chicken, steak, shrimp, onions, peppers, and tomatoes. It's served with lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole.) Our dessert was the churros which includes deep-fried pastry, apple coated cinnamon sugar and chocolate, and a serving of a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Alright, this part might sound weird but the bathrooms are very clean and look very clean. Some times, there is a correlation between cleanliness in areas that are not often used and the restaurant. We don't know how the kitchen area is and how clean it is but it's ALWAYS a good sign when the bathrooms are very clean and taken care of. I feel if they care that much about the bathrooms, then even the more important things will be cleaner and taken care (i.e. kitchen area). I will absolutely continue to come back, especially since this place is 3X better than the previous one regarding the size and ambiance.

My son was initially charged $34.39 for two frozen mango margaritas at the bar. Later, he went back up to the bar ordered one frozen strawberry margarita (listed at $15) and a tequila shot ($6), yet was charged $58.46. When I questioned, the female bartender about the price of a frozen margarita, and shot she immediately stated it was $15 and $6 stated that they thought the two earlier frozen mango margaritas had not been paid for. Obviously that was a false statement because they would've never allowed a patriot to walk away without paying for drinks from the bar this was just a way to justify them overcharging him. Although a refund was issued after I raised the issue, it was still inaccurate only $30 was returned instead of the full $34.39, excluding tax. Additionally, no apology or clear explanation was provided. This experience reflects poorly on the establishment's billing accuracy and transparency. Customers should carefully review their charges, as pricing appears inconsistent for identical items. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this establishment.

There were 5 items: 1) Queso Dip 2) Wings 3) Pork Carnitas 4) Mexican City Tacos 5) Pollo Yucatán. The queso dip was delicious and smooth. The wings come in three flavors and eight pieces in which I chose buffalo. They were very tender, juicy and delicious. The two entrees - pork carnitas and pollo yucatan were delicious too. Unfortunately the Mexican City tacos fell flat for me. Though the three street tacos has 3 variety of protein: grilled steak, chicken and carnitas topped with cilantro and onions, served with charro beans and fluffy rice. All of protein was bland, the charro beans were soupy but after adding the queso dip to the tacos, they were tasty. The server named Jeremy was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. If you are…read morelooking for a place that is packed with flavor and has amazing Birria tacos..THIS PLACE IS THE PLACE TO GO! I am reviewing everything at our table because we were all taking bites from each other's food, we couldn't resist! Drinks: To start, for our drinks, we had agua frescas. They have Agua de Horchata and and Agua de Jamaica. They had a great selection of mixed drinks and margaritas. (We skipped the alcohol and tried the Agua Frescas both flavors) The drinks were so good and refreshing. I would love to see Agua de Limon and Agua de Pepino in the future! Food: The Birria Ramen...wow, this was served with cilantro, onions, limes (of course) and consume for dipping. This is served with two birria tacos that have delicious flavor and melted cheese making every bite have you saying, "OMG MMM!!!" The Ramen has Birria in it as well! To prepare it properly put the cilantro and onions inside the Ramen and then squeeze all the lime they gave you in it and enjoy! The Ramen was so good! The Torta Asada was so incredible! It reminded me of the tortas I've had in Mexico. The bread is so perfectly fluffy, and soft for the torta. The steak is paired with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and jalapeños in making it the best combination for a traditional style torta, packed with flavor in eat bite. The Birria Pizza was probably my favorite out of everything at our table. It is huge so share this with someone unless you take left overs, which is also ok too! Keep that flavor going on for your taste buds the next day! :) The Birria pizza has the consume cooked into the tortilla so it's immediate flavor to your taste buds. The meat and melted cheese combo is so delicious, you will close your eyes after every single bite, in amazement. The ambience of this place is fun and entertaining, but is also appropriate for kids. They have seats on the side so if you're just trying to go for a nice date night this space is perfect for that. The environment is designed for everyone! I really enjoyed the service we received from the lady that helped us. The owner also came over and asked us how the food was and my daughter had the pleasure of saying how amazing it was and how much she enjoyed the food. This is coming from a picky eater. As long as this review is, I'm sure you can guess that I will be returning to El Ultimo Trago in the future for sure and highly recommend everyone comes here to try it, you won't regret it!

Due to…read morethe icy snow, parking was limited in front and on the side of the corner lot but manageable. There's also additional parking on the strip mall side in front of Home Depot. As you walked in, there's a gorgeous bar on the right side and dining area throughout the restaurant. The menu has a big and variety of selections, I ordered 6 items: 1) Shrimp Empanadas 2) Lengua Taco 3) Chicken Taco 4) Pork and Chorizo Taco 5) Quesadilla Fajita 6) Xango. At each table, you are served with complimentary chips, salsa and a white sweet sauce. You can tell the chips were fresh, the salsa was a little thick with a hint of heat, just the way I like it. The white sauce, a little too sweet for me but if you combine them together.. perfect. When the quesadilla fajita arrive to the table, it was perfectly pan seared, the first bite was amazing. The chicken was very tender and it was accompanied by shredded lettuce, sour cream, cilantro and diced tomatoes. I wasn't expecting the size of those shrimp empanadas to be that big but okay, let's do this. They were nice and crispy on the outer layer but unfortunately the stuffing was supposed to be shrimp but I didn't taste anything because it was bland. It was served with white queso but even adding the queso, there wasn't much difference in flavor. When I order their tacos which you can also mix match so I ordered 3 different proteins 1) chicken 2) lengua (beef tongue) and 3 pork and chorizo with pineapple. When the dish arrived to the table, I was disappointed of how it was represented. All three tacos were stacked on top of each other as the proteins were falling out, the plate was too small and served with a ramekin of hot salsa and a mixture of diced onions, cilantro, lime wedge in another ramekin. The lengua and chicken were both so so tender like melt in your mouth. Wow!! Unfortunately the pork and chorizo with pineapple was unique but I wasn't able to pick it up like you normally would on a taco. Since it was on the very bottom, the flour tortilla got very mushy and I had no choice then to use a fork and knife. The flavor was different and it was okay. For dessert, I try their Xango which is a flour tortilla stuffed with a banana flavored cheesecake, coated with sugar and cinnamon, served with vanilla ice cream, and topped with whipped cream, chocolate drizzle and sprinkles. With all the components, this dessert was bland. There wasn't any hint of banana flavored in that cheesecake filling, and the only thing was good was the ice cream with chocolate drizzle. The restaurant was clean and had some decor throughout the dining area. My server Katherin was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Though a few dishes weren't up to par, I would still make another visit to try other items on their menu.

They have a nice booth area by the windows and a table seating area in the middle area. There are a few TVs around the restaurant that play sports games. There's a nice bar area on the right side when you first walk in. The servers are very nice. I believe it is family owned. Everybody does seem like they are there to help each other to make your experience pleasant. The food is good. You receive a fair amount of food for the pricing. My favorite is the fajitas texanas because it includes chicken, meat, and shrimp, as well as vegetables (peppers and onions). It is served with Spanish rice, choice of whole or refried beans, lettuce, sour cream and tortillas. It's filling and will likely fill you up. As a starter, I ordered a guacamole. It was very underwhelming. I expected more and even the dry cheese on top but it is what it is. The burrito and taco is from the kid's menu. It has pulled chicken inside the taco but you can get a different filling. It gets soggy relatively quickly though and kids don't usually eat fast (or at least mine don't). It is tasty. The burrito is simple and fine. It's a very decent amount for a kid. The Mexican cheeseburger & French fries is what you may expect at most places for a kid to eat. I wasn't able to figure out why they call it a Mexican cheeseburger though. I've had their quesadilla before (months back) and it was overly cheesy but it was a nice large size. I will definitely return here and I'm hoping to try their drinks from the bar soon during their happy hour times.
