These tacos are really good and you can't beat the price. 10 small tacos for ten bucks is awesome. I just wish these people weren't so stingy with the green sauce. When you order takeout, they only give you 1 very tiny container per order and they charge you more if you want extra. Meanwhile if you eat at the restaurant they give you a whole bottle and you can have as much as you want, no extra charge. Makes no sense. read more

Great taco stop....most are $1 have a good amount of meat onions and cilantro and have a varied amount of Mexican drink such as horchata. Make sure you try the tacos al pastor, or steak. The chicken at times comes out a little dry, but still full of flavor. By far my favorite taco place. read more

I'm a huge fan of authentic Mexican tacos...as a matter of fact I have been going to a spot up the street from here for about a year now. I admit...when I heard $1 tacos I was pessimistic and did not expect much. I was dead wrong. The quality of these tacos were great, the service was good and the restaurant itself was awesome. Clean, nicely lit and air conditioned...3 very important things that many taco spots in Passaic lack. The tacos Al Pastor are always my favorite and this spot definitely got it. I had 4 of them and each was better than the last. Another great thing about this place is the endless supply of green and red hot sauce. I hate going to a place that is stingy with condiments and hot sauce...not here. You have 2 huge squirt bottles full of that stuff at your disposal. They are famous for the $1 tacos. The place is clean, decorated with vibrant artwork. The tacos I enjoy best are the alpastor. TIP: order the alpastor with piña (pineapple) at no added charge. Sorry this review may sound kinda racist but I love to tell my stories as they happened...no more, no less! So....I was going to get some help at the local Passaic Home Depot and hired these two guys from Mexico (that was the racist part), they did an awesome job btw, and I was hungry as hell. I told them I would buy them lunch and was in the mood for tacos and that I was taking them to the taco place I had been going for years. They looked at each other and laughed as if I just said a funny joke. They said really I know of the best place for tacos in taste and in price, so I said ok lets go. OMG...$1.00 tacos with Double tortilla fresh cilantro and onions, authentic Mexican Coke (not the High Fructose Corn Syrup kind) with real sugar, delicious order of fresh guacamole and chips topped with white fresh cheese. Recommend the pastor taco which is sort of a Hawaiian taco since it has small pieces of pineapple. Chicken is also good and had also the chorizo which was a tad bit dry but still yummy. My go to spot in Passaic for really affordable tacos $1-$1.50. I probably come here twice a month. Their chicken tostadas are also really tasty and satisfying for only $7. Usually drown both green and dab it with the red sauce. Both are a perfect combination. This place can get crowded any time after 4pm, mostly because the place is small. I highly recommend. While I absolutely adore El Matador in Bloomfield, nothing can beat Mexico Deli's prices. Came here on Saturday for lunch with my boyfriend. We go here a few times a month and we always just swoon over how much we love the food. I'm not sure if the ridiculously cheap prices ($1 tacos) make the food taste better [lol] but we enjoy every experience we have at Mexico Deli. The green sauce and the red sauce bottles that they leave on each table add extra flavor to the tacos (huge fan of dowsing the green sauce on my carnitas tacos). We also always order guacamole and fruit juice in addition to the tacos, and by the end of our meal, I'm INSANELY full. The only issue we had on Saturday was more so due to miscommunication/language barrier (they gave us 15 tacos when we order 8...) but that's no problem at all! All in all, if you love Mexican food, and happen to be in the area, I highly recommend you dropping by Mexico Deli. Here, $20 will fully satisfy two tummies. read more

Stopped in for the dollar taco's for lunch. Chicken taco's were amazing! I had 5 and I was full. Nachos were great quality as well. Me and my friend shared some and got some guacamole on the side. It turned out to be more guacamole then nacho. which wasn't a bad thing because we topped off our tacos with them and some of their excellent red and green hot sauce. I personally like the red sauce the best. Not to say that the green sauce is bad, i just have to be in the mood for it in any Mexican restaurant. Now I would have given them 4 stars but they took forever with the check. Even after I asked at the counter it still didn't arrive until 5 or 10 minutes later. Since you have to park on the street this can mean the difference between getting a ticket and not getting one if your parking meter runs out of time. Luckily I did not run my meter dry. Also asked for rice milk which I love to have when I eat hot food because it takes the edge off the spiciness. They said they didn't have it and all they had was coffee. I'm not sure the waitress understood me and there may have been a slight language barrier (yet another reason I should learn Spanish). Another waitress did seem to speak perfect English though. Coffee was exceptionally good but it's not really something that goes well with tacos. I definitely saw people being served it later during my meal. Plus they didn't even bother asking how I wanted my coffee. They brought it to me light with sugar which was ok but they should have at least asked. I do plan on going back one day even though the service turned me off a little bit. I will update if I try another dish (eager to see how their quesidillas taste) But they do make a damn good taco for a good price! read more

I would like to think of myself as a taco connoisseur... So I've been to tons of taco places all over New Jersey and I must say this place, HANDS DOWN, has the best tacos in NJ!! I've only tried the al pastor tacos (usually have 9 in one sitting) and the chips and guac here but they've exceeded expectations. I am their newest regular and have referred tons of friends that all feel the same way about their food. Also- I accidentally ordered 9 tacos that weren't al pastor once. I noticed before leaving and being stubborn I didn't even want to try them, although they looked amazing, because I love my al pastor tacos so much. I embarrassingly went up to the counter and explained I messed up and ordered the wrong tacos. With a smile on their face, they said no problem and had my el pastor tacos out in less than 10 minutes free of charge... Even tried refunding me the difference! EXCELLENT customer service!! Came here for dinner with the family. First of all, the prices are great for what you get! You cannot get a better deal than $4 for a large serving of guacamole! The $1 tacos were ok. There seems to be more onions/cilantro than meet. I recommend having al pastor and brisket tacos. I also had chicken and steak tacos, but those did not have much flavor. My son had enchiladas but it was too salty. The quesadillas were good. I might come here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice for Mexican food! read more

Great place to go to get homemade tacos. These guys here work very hard and they make the food literally in front of you. I ordered 10 tacos for 10 bucks so worth it, only downside of it is that the taco is double layered. I ended up ordering the burrito to go, based on the reviews it looks pretty big. I used to order from here alm the time. Weekly. They havr lost my business due to the fact that their personel have bad attitude.. you never know if the place is opwn or close because every time I call for a takeout order they never ever pick up the phone so therefore I never know if they're open or closed. While their food is good and the dollar tacos are okay I now order form Tortas Locas which is only about 5 minutes away and also does dollar tacos and they actually give you more better quality meat. So to this restaurant maybe you should have more workers there to be able to answer your phone so when people call they actually know if your business is open or not.. read more

I have visited this place multiple times {& will continue to do so} because it is absolutely delicious and hands down, makes some of the best authentic Mexico tacos around Jersey. Every time I go I am never disappointed. My usual is a large guac for the table with a horchata & 3 different tacos. Their horchata is a refreshing & sweet rice water drink that perfectly compliments the filling food they offer. The guac is super fresh & comes with a bed of crunchy tortilla chips--I love adding the guac to my tacos as well. Now, the tacos are THE thing to get when you visit here. Priced at a $1 + a little bit more depending on the meat you choose, each one is distinctly delectable & the corn tortillas they are served on are SO yummy. Mind you, I don't even care for corn tortillas, as I prefer crunchy shells, but these come out so warm & just taste amazing. As for meats, I love their Al Pastor & Brisket. My faves!
