The hype is real!! As is the price! $2 tacos and they're delicious! I love me a hole in the wall. We spent less then $30 on a full appetizer, entree and drinks! I think this place Would take off if they added a bar. But for now I appreciate the casual vibes of it. The waiters were kind and attentive. I will return!

There's no special "Taco Tuesday deal" because there's no need to when Tacos are $2 everyday except the Birria ones which are about $14 for 4. There is a self ordering machine with pictures and prices or you can just order directly from the nice lady at the front. Their tacos are pretty authentic with a lot of locals there for their tacos and other varieties. Total worth it and they come out fast which as well. Not much nearby but there's street parking for 20 mins per quarter. Their horchata has just the right amount of cinnamon and sweetness.

I've been coming to this restaurant for over 5 years and will continue to come back. It is a casual authentic Mexican food spot with delicious tacos for an amazing price. All the tacos are delicious but my favorite is the al pastor and chorizo. The green salsa is amazing and add a little bit of red salsa for an extra kick. I tried the pozole for the first time this visit. It was warm, delcious and had a deep yet clean broth perfect for the cold weather. I've tried their tostadas, echiladas, and agua frescas. Their horchata and in the summer the watermelon drink is my favorite as well. The servers are kind and the restaurant gets very packed. Parking is a little difficult but the tacos keep me coming back. I've also called ahead or ordered online for pick up and my experiences were smooth as well.

$2.00 tacos and you can not go wrong by these authentic tacos . I got 4 steak tacos . Great flavor and good amount of meat within the taco . Served with a green sauce that has a little spice to it and lime on the side too . I love coming here especially with great prices . I highly recommend. Come try and you can mix and match in one order which is a plus .

Excellent food and service. The tacos are only $2 - they are super tasty and better than most $5 tacos in Manhattan. I also love their tostadas. The chips and salsa were complimentary and the restaurant has a fun vibe.

Food is always good here, plenty of options to choose from, tacos are only $2 and they have food portions. Service is fair not that annoying waitress asking you every 3 minutes if you need anything else they are very attentive. Piñatas hanging from the ceiling and Mexican paintings on the wall, music and a good atmosphere. Parking is a nightmare you will have to park a little far unless you get really lucky and get a spot on the block, also there's always cars double parked they are picking up to go orders and just run inside to get something fast.

I found this place on Yelp because the $1.50 tacos caught my eye. So, we ordered a bunch of tacos for pick up on a Friday at around 5 pm. The tacos are now $2, but that's still really cheap. It's almost Mexico City prices, so can't complain there. It seems like an authentic Mexican place because they had more than just your standard chicken, beef, and chorizo. They had all the offals, which is rare to see - especially at this price. We had the al pastor, lengua, buche (pork stomach), cabeza, tripa, suadero. Most of the tacos were fine, though the suadero was dry. The al pastor was good but some pineapple could have put this over the top. But the star of the show was the tripa. I think they must fry it or something, because there were crispy bits in it, which really made the taco. At least, we thought it was tripe since we couldn't really tell what was what just by looking - but came to tripe as a process of elimination. I'll be back to make sure it indeed was the tripe, and next time, I'll be trying the ear, and pork skin tacos! Tip - they don't tell you this, but if you use credit card, there's a processing fee - which I found out after the fact.

Baby let me tell you this, Mexico restaurant is a gem. GO THERE NOW. Immediately and urgently. The servers are so kind, the food is delicious; and the cost is literally a no brained. I had about 5 different types of tacos-- I can't even beefing to describe how tasty they were. PLEASE GO.

This is the best Mexican restaurant in North Jersey! So many choices of tacos and very hard to find kinds. It feels like grannies are making them with centuries old recipes. We had: Cueritos - Pig Skin - this was interesting, I did like the gelatinous texture but i would have prefer it to be more tender Cabeza - Head meat - OMG it's so tender and delicious! Our favorite!!! Buche - Pork Stomach - it was ok, I've had better Suadero - meat from between the belly and the leg - this was tender and really good Al Pastor con Pina - this was good but I would not have the pineapple next time :D Lengua - Tongue - it was ok Tripa - Cow Stomach - this was good

Guacamole. That's one of my top criteria when judging a Mexican restaurant. A place can be pretty good but if the Guac isn't up to snuff then it's a total letdown. In this case all I can think about is just how good that Guac was! That's not to say that the food was lacking in other areas. The food in general was very good, from the different tacos, the beans and rice and the breaded chicken that was seasoned deliciously. And lets not forget the generous helping of Guac and chips that I felt guilty about not being able to finish. Just like most Mexican restaurants it won't slay your wallet either. Definitely some where worth visiting again...you know...Guac. read more

First of all, this is a hidden gem in the busy street of Passaic. As soon as you walk in the door you have amazing and vibrant environment. I had the chicken tacos and although they are tiny I ordered 5, it was only a dollar! You literally can't beat the price, I went for dinner and it was $5 dinner and very filling. One thing I would recommend is get the tacos with one corn tortilla (they usually do two tortillas) so that way you can eat more tacos! Also, you may want to consider ordering 3-4 at a time because once the tacos get a little cold, the meat starts to harden and the tortillas start to get chewy. I also went closer to their closing time, so I had to call ahead to make sure I can have sit there to eat my tacos. My friend who suggested this spot and had gone before around 8 and they would not let them sit and was asked to do take out (take out is not the same experience). Overalls, it was great! I would definitely recommend and would probably go again myself! read more

Mexico deli had been recommended to me by numerous people, so my husband and I decided to give it a try. We were blown away! Great little Mexican find in Passaic! Not a bad deal for dollar tacos. Everything is fresh and made to order. Very clean place. For those of you who are worried that you can't speak Spanish no worries. Most of the waiters speak some broken English and can understand you just fine so give it a shot cause they leave you coming back for more! Also great red and green hot sauces very flavorful and spicy! read more

Went there today on a whim with the boyfriend and I'm so glad I did. We have been on be hunt for amazing mexican food ever since we hit panchos in AC up. We have failed ever since, until today. We LOVE this place. It's clean, super cute, service was great and best of all, $1 tacos. All I can say is 10 tacos, one small guac and chips and two mexican cokes for $18.00. Good luck finding that anywhere else! read more

Everyone has just raved about this place saying they have the best tacos in Passaic. Well I must say that is wrong. At least for my palette. The carnitas tacos were so dry!! Even the tortillas. It all tasted as if it was Microwaved!! I personally think the tacos in Fortaleza are much tastier than theirs. Sorry but this is just not my cup of tea!! read more

The tacos were tasty, not awesome... mostly cause they had more onions than meat on them... they really do skimp on the meat. And they had no lime, only lemon. So instead of saying, "Wow! All this for a dollar", it's more like "Oh. I paid a dollar for a 50 cent taco". :-/ The 2 not 3 stars is cause they added their own TIP to my check. Not cool! (It was a party of 2, btw). read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE. I've always gone to Mexico deli but tonight I went there with friends and my friend wrote down his name and the lady proceeded to tell him to please wait outside meanwhile it's raining and they would come outside and get him when they had a table? How do you tell a customer to go wait outside in the rain because you didn't want it to be crowded meanwhile there was nobody else there? I proceeded to ask for the manager and this woman said she was the manager and said she did not care that we had to wait outside and I proceeded to say what type of customer service is this? Her other employee proceeded to try and tell us that we had to wait outside as well. Please don't go to this place of business how do you treat customers like that. What type of manager is this? read more

First time I ordered the steak burrito it was delicious! Second time around i ordered the same thing but when I opened it up there was a long hair stuck inside the burrito . I hope they're a little more cautious when cooking there meals. Thankfully I decided to cut up my burrito or else I probably would of barfed if I ate that hair. Just a heads up if you ever order from this restaurant again check your meals before eating! read more

This restaurant has great food (especially the Enchiladas Verdes) The service is great in the morning ..very fast and friendly. I give it three stars because the service in the afternoon is not very great. One of the servers has the worst attitude, and literally makes you want to walk out and never come back .and it has happened to family and friends of mine. But the food is soooo good !!! read more

Best Mexican authentic tacos I have ever tried & trust me I have tried a lot ! Even though the price seems a bit off, they don't hold back so you can get full really fast :) If you order the white cream (crema) and a side of cheese for $1 each, plus add the green spicy sauce, the tacos are bomb ! read more

this place is legit. my boyfriend and I went here today. whenever I go to a restaurant I hope for an authentic experience. this place was great. at first glance, the place is super casual, diner setting, full of Mexicans. PERFECT! the waitress brings the menu, and their English translations plus my highschool Spanish worked out great. we got 3 tacos each, al pastor, chicken and bisteak. they were all great and just ONE DOLLAR each. surrrriously. we also got a small guacamole, pico, and a chicken soup. they were all great. the chicken soup was delcious. if you have a cold this is what you're looking for. there were two giant chicken legs, and plenty of vegetables. really good stuff. I got a horchata to drink the spices in it are so good. this place is good, local and a great place to stop for some cheap eats. just go already. read more

Came here on a recommendation of two Mexican friends and of course Yelp reviews. This place rocked my socks!! I got 8 tacos with different meats and a small guac for $12 ! You can't beat that. Everything was delicious. Very nice attentive staff. Place is clean and the food is amazing. I did notice there is a Mexico Deli restaurant that is two buildings down and it was closed but the new one is more towards the corner. GO you wont regret it. read more

I think everyone here said it all. Honestly best place for great tacos. If you live far just call for delivery and ask how much is the deliver fee. Farther you live the more it is. Worth it though, and deliveries are on weekends only I heard, I could be wrong. read more

So this is confusing but there are two places adjacent to each other here with very similar names: The Mexico Deli and Mexican Deli Restaurant. I assume that they are owned by the same people. The decor is awesome here. They have some good aguas frescas; try the jamaica or horchata. The menu isn't huge but there's plenty of good food here. I recommend the pambazo sandwich, I haven't seen it in other restaurants. If you like the Restaurant, go to the Deli as well. The deli has some nice sandwiches but I especially like going there for the tamales. Get the tamales dulce, verde or my favorite mole. If you go on a Sunday, the deli is packed with people buying tamales! People really love their tamales. read more

Maybe the best mexican food in the area. REAL mexican food, not the nuevo-mexican stuff these fancy start ups are selling for $15 a dish and $3-4 per taco. I read the reviews and finally headed over to this "Little Mexico" area of Passaic. The area is a bit funky but it's safe. The $1 tacos this place sells are really great. Not some god-awful "what's really in that thing" type of stuff. If Passaic isn't too far out of the way for you I highly recommend. read more

Can't beat the tacos especially considering the price.I also love their pancita,freshly made and with the right amount of heat and flavor.The tripe is cooked just to the point where is is not chewy or mushy.The reason I give them four star is service.I asked a side order of rice to go with my pancita and when I got home it wasn't there.I also realized I was shortchanged $ 5.They are extremely busy i am sure it was an honest mistake however they just need to pay more attention to customer service read more

After my first visit, I can say the tongue-in-cheek spirit of Vinnie Mootz's signage carries right through the front door and into its lineup of "SANGWEECHES." I ordered "The Nicky Mootz" -- cutlet, bacon, hot sauce, and fresh mootz -- and enjoyed it immensely in the friendly, medium-sized dining room. The pizza, which I plan to try on a future visit, looked excellent, and the small assortment of hand-stretched mozzarellas is reason enough to stop back in the next time I'm passing through. It's a Jersey sandwich -- excuse me, sangweech -- shop with all the charm, humor, and flavor you'd hope for the community!

I must add that their apricot jam has the right texture, no added sugar however the sweetness of the fruit remains. I love it. They also offer torta, punies, kremes/sampit, spices and seasonal candies.

The most amazing delicious authentic tacos ever. Usually 1 dollar each unless you choose a speciality meat etc or add different toppings. It's a newly renovated restaurant. Parking sucks in this area but we'll worth looking for one. I would suggest calling your order in so when you park you can run in and pay and pick up. They accept cash or card. I had to remind her FOUR times for my daughters quesadilla!! By the time she finally brought it out we had already fed them from our tacos and asked for the quesadillas to go! And the worst part of the story.... There were only about 4 tables and 3 waiters!!! So minus 2 stars for the bland food and that bad waitress ... Authentic mexican tacos! I loved this place. If you're looking for good and cheap tacos this is the place to go. I was here on a Sunday and it was packed so that meant we had to wait half an hour to be seated. There were also mariachi who charged $20 to sing 3 songs per table (this is of course optional). But the wait was worth it because I loved our tacos and all their beverages as well. I gotta say though their options are very basic so if you're looking for something a little more rare you probably won't find it here. read more

Hands down the best authentic Mexican food in Passaic, NJ. The price, the quality and variety of the food is second to none. I've personally worked here in the past, when they first opened, so I know the kitchen is held to a high standard of cleanliness, which still holds true today. I go there Sunday mornings for their tamales. $1 apiece fresh out of the kitchen and as good as they come. Excellent coffee for $1 also.
