I started coming here a few months ago and I love it. I always get tacos when I come, except for once I got chicken quesadillas. My favorite tacos by far are chicken and al pastor, both with everything on them (what other way is there to eat tacos?) and the al pastor are great with pineapple too. They're wonderfully seasoned and a decent size, they also come with lime slices and radish, as well as the two different hot sauces. And the best part? They're only $1 each. My friend convinced me to try their chicken and cheese quesadillas one time, and I did not regret it. The quesadillas are filled with flavor and the shell is perfectly fried so you get a nice crunchy texture eating it. These come in at $7.50 for 3 (they're about double the size of tacos). I also enjoy getting a horchata whenever I come to a taco place. They make this really good here too, but at $5 for a large, I might skip this next time I go. For parking, you'll probably have to park a block or two away as it's a busy street and this place gets packed on the weekends and nights. If you come and there's a wait for seating, don't worry, there are other places nearby for tacos too. A plus of this place too is that the decor is nice, it's colorful and lively. Tl;dr: You could go to some random bar advertising "$2 taco Tuesdays! $5 margaritas," with inauthentic tacos, and not necessarily all that flavorful OR, hear me out - you can come to Passaic and go to Mexico Deli or one of the other taco places around there and get real, delicious $1 tacos. read more

Great price, great flavor, great variety, great staff....can i give Mexico Deli 10 stars?! The tacos might look like they are super small but they pack a punch and three usually does the work. I love how much variety and different types that they have and for $1.20-$2.50 per taco how can you lose? It is usually packed during the afternoon so if you are not good at waiting i would just order out. The parking also isn't the best but that doesnt make Mexico Deli less desirable. This place is just ok nothing special except the cheap price per taco. It's just a local spot that I would go to if I lived in the area and wanted something fast and cheap, but it's definitely not a go out of your way from far and wide because you to have these tacos kinda place but again the price point is great at $2 a taco. Just don't expect it to be mind blowing tacos. We ordered the carnitas, pollo, Al Pastor and chorizo, two of each taco or at least I thought. I get home and found they gave us seven not the 8 tacos we ordered. I live about 20 min. away and I was not about to go back for a taco. They really need to be more thorough when doing to-go food. The chorizo was good but the rest were dry and bland. For the inside it is quaint and liked the way it was decorated. So no problem there. About service they're nice but they don't speak English too good if it all so good luck if you don't speak Spanish and they obviously don't make sure pick-up orders are correct. Yelp kinda let me down on this one with the stellar reviews for this place. If you're local and about within 10 min drive or walking distance go ahead and go. But don't travel far to try this place. This is my absolute favorite taco spot! The closest I've tried in the East Coast that compares to California and Mexico. Very authentic and delicious. I've come here so many times to pick up tacos for my family on a busy night after work or a late night quick meal with my friends and they are delicious and unbeatable for the price of $1 each! Our favorites are the al pastor which is the best al pastor I've ever had, the steak, and the chicken tacos. The tacos are typical street tacos topped with radishes, cilantro, and onions and a lime on the side. The horchata drink is also really good. The only downside is that sometimes it's difficult to get through on the phone because they are so busy and showing up in person often has a long wait time for the same reason. The best tacos in N.J. - hands down. They are as original and authentic as they get. And on top of the deliciousness, they're super cheap! I mean, c'mon!! They also offer a wide variety of authentic Mexican items on their menu, all of them super delicious also. Their Horchata water is to die for! The place itself is super clean, and festive. I was pleasantly surprised that waitress understood English well and the food was excellent. I ordered the Arrachera. It's pictured in the menu. It's a platter of thin steak, a slab of white mozz type cheese, cactus, sour cream, beans, and pico de gallo with a few torrillas to make your own tacos. I also had 2 al pastor and 2 steak tacos. Tacos are $1 or $1.50. Craziness!!! My Boo boo had a chicken, steak, and sausage taco. We also got the Chicken Milanese torta but we were disgustingly full and got the torta to-go for Boo Boo's bro. We went a day after the polar vortexnado so it was cold everywhere and the heat was not cycling enough inside. My tacos got cold after a few minutes coming out as I was working on the Arrachera. I recommend staggering your order if they are not busy so your taco goes down smooth. CC with minimum of $10 (10 tacos). They use an Ipad as an register which blew my mind. It's nothing fancy but it has more space and cleanliness than other spots, where you are either afraid to sit or there is no seating. My coworker and I ended up just sitting down for our meal. I had the chicken quesadillas. I was comparing them to one of my favorite mex spots in JC, where we order from often. These blew them away. The masa (tortilla dough) used was not thin and you can tell it was recently made, the quesillo and other ingredients used were so fresh. Once you walk in, you are greeted and luckily my waitress was bilingual so made it much easier to communicate. I ordered two chicken tacos and two chorizo tacos. These tacos were only $1 each and packed with flavor. They aren't cheap with meat so they will give a good amount. The chicken was tender and well seasoned while the chorizo had a little kick to it but still appetizing. If you come here often, they will remember your ordering habits and ask you if you will be ordering the same or switching it up. Mexican regional music (Rancheras, Mariachi, Noterñas, And Corridos) coming from the speakers, a Soccer game or Novela on the 3 flat screen TVs.
