The service was exceptional; our server was incredibly friendly and genuinely seemed to care about our dining experience. Next comes the key part: the food. The appetizers were amazing. I had dinner reservations for two on a Friday evening at 9:30. The hostess welcomed us to the restaurant and informed us that our table was being cleaned and should be ready within a few minutes ( which was totally fine since we arrived 10 minutes early). We waited about 5 mins and they took us over to the table, Alyssa was our host and she was smiling from ear to ear very pleasant and let us know if we wanted a tour of the restaurant after our meal, we could do that at the end which I thought was a very unique touch. Our waitress came over shortly after to introduce herself and take our drink order. Danielle was fabulous as well. She went through the cocktail list and gave us the guest favorites and her favorites in addition to answering the many questions I had. My friend ordered the Spice is Nice & I ordered the Muy Guapa - both drinks were amazing so we decided to order a second round of the same drink. I did mention to Danielle that my first drink did taste a little warm and the next one should be colder and she told the mixologist , and the second drink was better than the first. You can tell the staff truly cares about the customer experience. For appetizers we ordered the stuffed poblano pepper & skirt steak tacos. The pepper was very good, I unfortunately don't love spicy stuff so It was a little spicy for me but still delicious, especially if spicy is your thing. The steak tacos were good, not the best skirt steak but worth the try. They also don't ask you how you want the steak cooked, it comes out medium rare so if you like yours cooked well, I would let the waitress know ahead of time! For dinner we ordered the lobster risotto, as Danielle mentioned it was a top seller there and the halibut. The lobster on top of the risotto was a pretty big size, two pieces and was very tasty. The risotto itself I thought was okay, not worth the $70 but definitely a larger portion than we had anticipated. The halibut was excellent, I did ask for extra sauce on the side since another review said there wasn't a lot of taste, but with the extra sauce everything blended well especially the sweet potatoe puree that came with it. The ambiance was very nice, a little more on the louder side because they play music but we were still able to have a conversation without yelling across the table. Overall it was a great experience, I definitely enjoyed exploring the cocktail menu and the extensive blending of liquor, you can tell they put a lot love into their menu. read more

We got the 10 ounce skirt steak with mashed potatoes and mac & cheese and also some chips and also to start Everything was delicious. We got a churro with ice cream and it was Tres leches with chocolate and cinnamon. it was really good. The whole inside of the place is really nice. The vibe is really good with the dark lighting and the bar is really cool with the flames. Great for pictures. Great for date night. Went to this place to celebrate an anniversary and it was a great experience. Our server was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and was very helpful. The food was great. We started with the guac and potatoes with the truffle. Both were amazing. I got the halibut which was fantastic, the pairing with the corn and sweet potato worked really well. The drinks were really good too and creative. For dessert we did the fried ice cream and it was my favorite thing ever. It was incredible. Went to Mezcal last night with friends Nick was our server- what an incredible dining experience. The restaurant is beautiful. Our server was very friendly and attentive. He had recommendations when asked. He made sure to ask about any allergies. When I informed him about my red pepper allergy he made sure anything ordered that had red pepper whether it was my direct food or someone at the table he politely and discreetly informed me so I didn't taste it. The rest of the staff was nice as well., We were there toward the end of the night, when I asked if it was ok to walk and see the rest of the restaurant Nick showed me a bit so I could take a couple pics. Mezcal is a nice restaurant with great ambiance and cool decor. It is different than any other restaurant that I have been to. The interior has a dark, seductive type of look with club type music playing. Definitely a great spot for dates. The food is a little bit on the expensive side, but worth every penny. We finally got a reservation and I was so excited to give this restaurant a try! Upon arrival and walking in, I was completely taken back by the ambiance and decor. We were still waiting on two people to arrive for us to be seated so we sat at the bar for a drink. The signature cocktails are a grand slam. There is a flame (fake fire) surrounding the bar that makes the experience super intimate. The hostess mentioned the bar area is first come first serve and on Monday and Thursday evenings they offer (vibe dining) with a DJ. Once we sat down, our waiter Dan, came over right away so we could order more drinks, our appetizers, and entrees. What a presentation! He informed us about the entire menu and made great recommendations. EVERYTHING we ordered was AMAZING! I definitely suggest ordering the guac with crab as an app:) look at the menu beforehand to check out the prices because it is on the expensive side, but if you're celebrating a special occasion or it's your one time to get out for a date night without the kids, it's definitely worth the experience! 5 stars! read more

The atmosphere was beautiful, the food was outstanding, and the staff really made it special. The ambience and decor are very cool, and some of the food is adequate (the spinalis ribeye was very good but a bit undercooked for medium rare and $99!), we left with the feeling that we would not be in a hurry to return. My chicken was dry and lacked taste to my deep disappointment. I had an incredible dining experience at Mezcal when I went on 3/21! When you walk into the building you can feel the vibe from the lobby. Very unique and one of a kind from all the great decor, which sets the tone for the evening. The staff is very welcoming and very professional. The Menu is unique and everything we had was cooked to perfection. Skirt Steak Tacos, the Spanish Octopus (best I ever had), Filet cook perfectly, and the Spinalis was perfectly cooked. This is probably the 4th or 5th time I've been here, but our waitress Danielle N was so good and I wanted to make sure she was recognized for the fantastic service. Service is the key word here. The restaurant is beautifully designed and very chic and upscale. The drinks are out of this world and presented unlike anywhere else you'll probably eat. The food is fantastic with new additions to check out all the time. But Service is absolutely tops. Matt has brought this concept of a dining "experience" at his various restaurants (618, and now Elizabeth's), and the focus is on Service. Never waiting long for someone to check on you. The waiters, waitresses, and all the rest of the staff friendly and wanting to help in any way they can. But the food and drinks (probably the most important aspects) are A+++ and tops for a restaurant in New Jersey. For once, when you go out to eat you can leave talking about how cool the experience was and how good the food was. Do yourself a favor and get in for whatever reservation you can. I will never go back! the dress code is dressy casual but there were patrons with shorts on and some with jeans. We received the worst service from a male server! We felt discriminated against. i believe since we're 2 young women the server must have it in against professional & educator women! My friend and I went to celebrate our Master Degree Graduation and we inform the server of our celebration. The server took it in stride like if we were talking about the weather! The couple to the right of us was celebrating the same as we, and they received a cup cake and a loud congratulations from the same server. The couple to the left received a run down of the menu and a tour of the restaurant. We hardly received our food on time, and after they served it was a rush to get us out. We paid $120.00 bill and spoke to the manager a gentleman by the name of Peter. He apologized and tried to make it right and gave us only 1 $50.00 gift card and a shot of the worst tequila we've ever had! we won't be returning. I hope that server quits or gets fired! read more

While he has a different career, I spent my entire adult life scooping ice! We had more than a few apps and some drinks. The well seasoned as well as restraint made me glad we tried so many things. I have a plan for my steak with crab Louie. My husband plans steak with lobster scampi. It's a smart menu. Our bartender, Nicoli, was a pleasure. He is interesting and interested. First impression walking in: WOW. The atmosphere and ambiance are exactly what you need on a late or weekend night. You can tell this place thought every detail from small to large through. It's great for a first date or an anniversary of five years, you can go for drinks with coworkers, etc. It's a one stop shop. The food though is not even a question: it's fantastic. My boyfriend and I had the octopus and I am critical of my octopus! It was PERFECTLY charred and so delectable. We also got the guac and chips (which came with three salsa varieties for dipping) and I forced myself to stop eating so I had room for my skirt steak and chimichurri. I asked for the steak to be medium cooked and it did NOT disappoint. I felt like a broken record: "wow, this amazing" or "damn, babe, you HAVE to try this!" We are so glad we had the opportunity to dine in Mezcal this past Thursday. As soon as you pulled up into the parking lot, there were gorgeous hand drawn murals on the building to set the vibe. When you walked to the front door, they played electronic tribal music (best way to describe it) that we felt like we were entering a tropical resort. All the decor was on point with the tribal theme and the ambiance was on point. As soon as we walked in, the hostess Maryanne opened the doors for us with a warm smile. She gave us a little tour and kept telling us that if we needed anything, to let her know. She sat us at a nice round booth and brought us a booster seat for our toddler. The booth was extremely clean. Our server was Matthew for the night. He was extremely knowledgeable on the menu and really explained everything to us from the cocktail menu to the food menu. He let us know his recommendations and of course we had to follow his word. We started off with the trio salsa and guacamole and chips as well as the citrus pork tacos. Everything was so flavorful. We ordered the skirt steak and the spinalis ribeye cap steak. Both were so tender and fantastic. My toddler couldn't stop poking her fork in my plate to eat more. For sides we ordered the truffle fries which btw was a huge portion as well as the mesquite creamy corn. Everything was so delicious and fresh! The bartender Karl made our drinks and they were absolute delicious. He had a smile on his face the entire time he was working even with a busy bar. All the bartenders in fact were very happy and engaging to their customers. We loved seeing the presentation of each cocktail and seeing the servers push around a cart to do table side service of some of the drinks. It was definitely a little show and our toddler was intrigued. We wish we had enough space for dessert, but that means we'll have to come back another time to try! A little shoutout to the bussers who were super attentive and quick to clear our plates and package up our leftovers. They are the mvps! Mezcal is family friendly and truly an amazing dining experience. We cannot wait to come back! We have been trying for a while to get a reservation for Mezcal for a while as the weekends seem to be booked into the next decade, haha, but my niece finally snagged one for her birthday and asked us to join them. As we pulled up the place kind of looked pretty unremarkable until we pulled around back to the parking area, wow what a difference, beautiful entrance and murals. As we entered we were promptly greeted and shown to our booth. On the way we were given a mini tour of the restaurant and even told where the restrooms were located. I told the hostess that I am very uncomfortable in a booth and was promptly given a chair so I could enjoy my dinner. Out server, Danielle, was working at the booth next to ours, leaned in to greet us and tell us that she would be right with us. Within a few minutes she returned with water and to take our drink order and see if we needed any help with the menu. We took a little bit to get our order together as we were trying to take in the space as it has a lot going on, the decor is beautiful, Danielle was very patient and accommodating. The drinks arrived with much fanfare and smoke, apparently a theme for this place. The drinks were excellent. As this point we placed our appetizer order. By the way, the chips and salsa are excellent and plentiful. We shared a few of the apps which were very tasty and actually better shared as they were almost a dinner portion. We then, after a lot of questions about the menu, ordered dinner and another round of the very tasty drinks. The drinks arrived with another "smoke" show to be followed by our entrees. Everything looked fantastic. Two of us had the rib cap, asked and received cooked to the proper temperatures, rare and mid rare, my niece had ordered Halibut but was informed that they were out of it and asked if they could substitute Monk fish, no problem and she thoroughly enjoyed it. My daughter very much enjoyed her whipped potatoes and filet mignon, again cooked to perfection. My wife very much enjoyed her brisket tacos and I had the best Scallops that I have had in a very long time. We shared fried ice cream and a volcanic display on an order of churros for my nieces birthday, and some us enjoyed some very tasty dessert cocktails. My only complaint is the check, I feel that that it was a little on the steep side, $1000 for six people. But then again you get what you pay for and we did have an enjoyable evening.
