Rather than going to Cava as I normally would when I'm craving Mediterranean flavors, my boyfriend and I decided to give Mezeh a try. I'm glad that I went at a time when the restaurant wasn't busy because the options were a bit overwhelming and weren't all clearly marked on the display glass. I was a bit put off by the wilted spinach that was being used to make salads, it was clearly going bad but hadn't been discarded. Our salads overall were fine... but just fine. The food lacked any real punch of flavor, and it was overdressed which made everything a bit soggy by the time I got it home. I was also disappointed when I asked for harissa and the girl behind the counter poured some type of dressing all over my salad rather than putting a spoonful of harissa on it as I had intended. I hate seeing food wasted, so I wasn't going to ask her to throw away the entire salad now covered in dressing I didn't actually want. Would I go back? Maybe... but seeing as the prices are comparable to Cava, I'd rather continue going somewhere that's consistent in quality. Our family of six went here tonight for dinner and everyone loved the food they ordered. It was a little confusing trying to identify the food on the line as we went through, and we didn't notice until we were seated that all of the different toppings were labeled on the glass in front. I had a greens bowl topped with chicken and steak, and a variety of veggies. Loved the cilantro hummus and would have gone back for more if I could! My husband had the grains bowl and loved it. For our kids, our older two enjoyed the wrap although it was a bit messy to eat, while our other sons had rice bowls. I liked that there was a kids' rice bowl option as my youngest wouldn't have been able to finish off the regular size. As for the restaurant itself, I love how they have transformed this place. You would never know it used to be a jewelry store. It was challenging to find a table for six because the tables are bolted down to the floor but we just sat at tables adjacent to one another. The women's bathroom was out of order, too, which was a little inconvenient for our daughter. All in all, we loved the fresh, tasty food and we will definitely return. I ordered from here tonight because the Mezeh closest to me inidlo has been experiencing quality issues so badly the last month that Doordash removed them from their restaurants until they improved. so instead of improving, they increased their prices by 20%. I refused to order from them again. So when I ordered here, for $4/less per bowl, Not only did I get everuthing I ordered, but I received SO MUCH MORE THAN MIDLO store! i received WHOLE PITAS instead of a half pita per order, I received a whole pita for rach bowl, I then got the 2 extra I bought also!, they do not come with meals at Midlo store, the extra protein I paid for came in a separate container so you can see you're getting it! i didn't realize I was paying for but not receiving the extra protein from the Midlo store, EVER, in all of the weekly times I ordered there! So in short, I think this restaurant is excellent and exactly what Mezeh the chain should be emulating. Food is outstanding! worth every single penny! read more

Wow. Thank you, Yelp. This place is the Chipotle of Mediterranean cuisine, but better. In my opinion, anything other than dining in with the bowl is foodicide (food suicide). The toppings are endless and there is no limit of what you can get. I got at least 20 toppings and they were all delish. My protein was chicken kebab which had an amazing flavor. My husband got the shredded lamb. It was moist and flavorful. He's going to get spicy lamb next time because he wished it had a little more kick. A little tip- if you love tzatziki get the cicak. It's more of the thick yogurt base and way more flavor. For $9.25, you CANNOT get a better "fast foodish" meal. read more

Another great bowl from Mezeh. I really like the food and flavors here, but my wife not so much, therefor I don't get to go here very often. My bowl was constructed from the following: mixed greens, veggie kefta, spicy feta dip, pickled onions, pickled beets, spicy pickled carrots and cauliflower, crunchy chick peas, and the spicy mango sauce. My base, the mixed greens, was fresh and appealing, no sign of wilted or bad leaves that you sometimes get in mixed greens. This was my first time trying the veggie kefta and I was pleasantly surprised, it was tasty and filling. It was crunchy outside and moist inside. I would get it again. As for the toppings, I think this is where Mezeh excels. All the toppings are fresh and tasty. I love that I can customize the mix of toppings to fit my taste for that day. Everybody gets to have what they like. As you saw from my choices the day I went was a spicy day. This was my first time getting the spicy pickled carrots and cauliflower, it was very good. I went in an ordered my bowl to go, the staff was attentive and friendly (and patient as I tried to figure out my toppings). It appears that the order ahead and pickup option is efficient and used by many customers. I recommend the Short Pump Mezeh with no hesitation whatsoever. read more

I came here sometime towards the end of last year to FINALLY use the $5 card I got at one of the Yelp events. I totally forgot how amazing this place is! I love the freshness of the foods and the options are endless! It took me a while to look over their menu and I finally decided on one of their mixed bowls. I had to read the chef's recommendation to make sure that I got the order that I wanted. I got their bowl with white Basmati Rice, and their lamb kefta as the protein and I sorta choose a LOT of toppings, and then topped it with their Tzatziki Sauce. I wish I had a freakin picture to show it because it tasted amazing. I love the fat that you get a lot of bang for your buck. It's super filling and I don't get guilty feeling of eating something healthy haha. It's a similar format of Chipotle where you go down their line of options and pick what you want. It can be a little intimidating at first, but I promise you that it'll be okay. Be brave and try their deliciousness. I am a big fan of the build-your-own style eatery most popularly associated with Chipotle because it allows you to get exactly what you want. Their specialty is Mediterranean salads, rice bowls, flat bread sandwiches, and wraps, but it is not confusing or intimidating to non-adventurous eaters who may never have heard of tabbouleh or cacik. There are paper menus near the ordering counter so that you can look over your choices before getting in line. If you think something looks good, you know exactly what it is and how to ask for it without just pointing and saying "that one." Workers don't rush you, and are happy to help if you ask. The staff was awesome at describing the options as well as making recommendations based on their personal favorites. Some of the flavors could be a little off putting if you haven't had them before, but try them! You'll love them!!! The sauces were a little heavier than Cava (aoli I think...) I ordered a pizza. Actually I ordered two. I got a confirmation number also got time for pick up when my husband went to go pick up the pizza they said they didn't have any pizza. They also didn't even have enough cash on hand to give us a refund. Why was I allowed to place an order when you didn't have what I ordered? This location has been problematic for about a year. I am done with this location and maybe Mezeh in general. Customer service should be your priority, people are tired of paying their hard earned money for mediocrity and indifference when it comes to the products we are buying. What a pleasant surprise! I've had Mediterranean plenty of times, but none were quite like this. Mezeh is a build your own dish "fast food-ish" restaurant. Basically you start off by picking between a rice bowl, salad bowl, flatbread wrap or pita pocket. Then you pick what protein you want and finish it off with a whole bunch of fresh toppings. The food quality is superb and the portions are huge. Mezeh is definitely one of my favorite best bang for the buck restaurants. To add to that, the interior is bright and vibrant with funky Mediterranean décor and music that really creates a fun atmosphere. There's also a small outdoor dining area. My family loves this place! There's not a lot of healthy eating options around town (yummy but not healthy). The app makes it pretty easy to order ad just pick up and each bowl has a long printout of the items you selected in the bowl. I couldn't figure out how to label each dish with each family member's name, but you can leave it in "special instructions". I liked this place the first few times I went, but it's gotten more & more disappointing. I went there with friends last night. It was a very confusing experience, trying to choose items for my bowl when the labels for the ingredients were either incomplete or missing altogether. Apparently, asking the employee what certain ingredients were was very irritating to him; having to respond with 1 word answers seemed very inconvenient for him. It took a long tine for our bowls to be prepared, as they had to stop and replenish the ingredients continuously. The food was fine, nothing special. But my friend got an added bonus in his meal - he bit down on the broken tine of a plastic fork. When he took it up to the manager to report it, he was offered some free sauce to put on his meal (the sauce is free anyway). I was craving a gyro one day at work and my co worker was like you need to hit up Mezeh. I was like who? I then realized he was referring to the Mediterranean Grill near the entrance of the Short Pump Town Center. My co worker went on and on about how great the food was. You know I had to check Yelp first to see if it was really legit. When I saw all the rave reviews, I grabbed my purse and headed for Mezeh! I made sure to download the app and add my credit card to take advantage of the credit you receive when making your first purchase through the app. I was not disappointed when I arrived. I explained to the worker behind the counter it was my first time so they let taste the different meats. WOW!!! Everything was seasoned and moist. From the chicken to the steak. I ended up going with the lamb flatbread wrap, to satisfy my gyro craving. There was so many fresh toppings and sauces to choose from. You get up to 8 toppings with no additional charge. My wrap was filled with fresh, tangy goodness. Every bite was more delicious than the last. I had to mentally check myself from straight gobbling the sandwich up too fast. It was that amazing. To echo many of the other reviews, this really is like the Mediterranean Chipotle. Honestly don't know why I waited so long to try this place, but low and behold I was in the mood for something different tonight, so when in doubt turn to my fellow Yelpers for a quick scroll and recommendation! After seeing many of the reviews talk about the spicy dishes being really high on the heat level, I decided I'd try the chicken kebab (not on a skewer btw) bowl with an endless amount of sauces and fresh veggies. Powerful flavors that just blend well even if you don't think it would, or this isn't your usual choice in food. I think anyone can find something here to make your belly happy. Really enjoyed the chipotle lime hummus. Service was fast and friendly too. Download the app and load your card for payment and get $3 off instantly-dont be alarmed if it does not show on the receipt, but should reflect in the app receipt for what your card was charged. I'll be back and definitely remember to pay with the app for rewards! I was in town for a work trip, and decided to look for a Mediterranean restaurant for dinner. This was less than five minutes from my hotel, so I decided to give it a try since I was too exhausted to go further. I Was had low hopes, since I have eaten at a fast food Mediterranean before, and was not impressed. But after trying out my bowl, I can say it is delicious! I ordered a kids bowl since I don't eat too much, with mixed greens, soft/juicy/crispy steak Shawarma, Lebanese tabouli, cilantro hummus, caramelized eggplant, roasted corn, spicy mango sauce, tzatziki sauce, and dried cranberries. Bomb.com! I like that the steak Shawarma was spicy, but if you can't handle spicy then I definitely recommend you choose something else. I'm not too sure whether it was the Shawarma or the spicy mango sauce that made it as spicy as it was. But it was very delicious. Great fast casual Mediterranean food! This place is exactly like Cava, if you've been there before but more authentic and spicy. They have many toppings to choose from! I ordered the white rice and salad with kale. The rice isn't just plain rice. It comes with thin, brown seeds in it (I actually hate the flavor of). I had no idea it was in it but they should really list it on the menu. For my protein, I got the steak. The steak is an extra $2.50 I believe, which I didn't know at the time until I got to the register. I was kind of pissed because I didn't want to spend more then $10 bucks on my meal and I feel like they should tell you if something is extra (like they do at Chipotle). I also told them this was my first time here, so they should have said something. After, I got to choose as many toppings as I wanted. They all looked really fresh and authentic and the toppings were all delicious that I got. At the end you pick the dressing you want over it. I got the spicy harissa sauce. They also give you bread that I absolutely loved. It's like a pita but different, more naan-ish, airy and fluffy. Overall, service was great. I had a girl come over to me and ask me how my food was. The prices are reasonable but they should let you know what's extra because I had no idea. Also, they should list certain ingredients on the menu (rice) because they had a spice in it that I hate. One of my absolute favorite places to eat. It's fresh, fast, affordable, and delicious. The bowls are so big that they can truly be stretched into two meals along with the pita bread that comes with it. We eat here at least twice a month and are part of the rewards program. They have fun drinks, as well. I've been doing online ordering and pickup but have eaten inside many times. It's clean and well maintained. The employees are nice and helpful. We usually get the chicken sharama and falafel but I've also tried the lamb which is tasty. The variations of bases, toppings, and dressings make this a win for everyone.
