You're able to choose a base: salad, bowl, or burrito. I chose a bowl with white rice. And next is your protein, the chicken schwarma is full of bold flavors!! And then on to your toppings - I added roasted veggies, classic hummus, and chickpea salad. I topped mine off with tzsaiki sauce and I got a side of naan with my meal. Mezeh's food is incredible, you just have to go a few times and figure out what you like. They have a pretty large selection of toppings and almost anything you choose tastes great. The staff that works the counter is for the most part good and nice. My only complaint about this place is when I order food from them off Uber eats. They have messed up my order three times when I order off Uber eats. Also, on Uber eats they will not let you choose more than 8 toppings on your bowl and then you have to pay for any extra toppings that you might like. This is not the case when you go there in person. So I definitely recommend trying this place out, but I do not recommend ordering Mezeh off Uber eats. read more

My co workers and I decided to have a small lunch meeting. After discussing our options in the area, Mezeh won our vote. We arrived at great time and had a good options for parking. Parking in this area is difficult due to it being a small strip (if you can call it that!) with 2 restaurants and a Starbucks. We walked in to a short line and we happy to order quickly. I ordered the rice bowl with chicken shwarma. Instead of a rice bowl, you can pick a salad bowl or wrap and even a pita pocket. And they also have delicious choices of meat and vegetarian options, such as falafel. The options for toppings is HUGE! From different lettuces, hummus, to marinated vegetables. I'm not a fan of their drink options. Their soda options are limited and are not the conventional Pepsi or Coke. I luckily chose one that was pretty good. It is a quick line and check out. Payment with card is super easy on the iPad. The dining area can be a bit loud as they start to fill up, but they have plenty of seats inside and outdoor patio seating also. Sitting here now with my girlfriend and we both agree that this place is very good. I got the tzatziki sauce on my chicken kebab with lots of veggies, and it was super cool and fresh tasting. Overall there are so many flavors and they all blend together well, but the variety just makes every bite so interesting and almost... fun! My gf got the chicken shawarma with the Harissa sauce and man that stuff was spicy, but she really enjoyed it and even took down notes of everything she got, so we can come again and she can get the same thing since she enjoyed it so much haha. The price is obviously a little higher than something like chipotle, but we feel it was worth it. The quantity is a decent size and you should be able to get 2 meals if you aren't a big eater. We ordered a family meal and a house drink for dinner because my son came back from college and we wanted to celebrate his birthday. Once my husband and son came home from picking up the order, we opened the bag and found my favorite house drink was missing. They forgot to packed the drink. We contacted the store asked for refund, the person answered the phone passed the phone to the manager and told us she could not refund us but could take down the info and replace the drink in the future. It takes us 30 minutes to go back and forth to pick up the order, and it would be another 30 minutes to pick up a missing drink. This woman refused to do anything to compensate and refused to issue us the refund. It is a very unprofessional customer service that we experienced. I don't think I would go back anymore! read more

I used Mezeh this past weekend for catering my wife's birthday for about 60 people. The food was fantastic. They laid out everything for a buffet, and the chicken was kept warm with sternos. Although every dish was delicious and plentiful, the marinated eggplant was our favorite. It worked well because we have a variety of friends and different cultures. This place is far better than any chipotle I have seen. It has a very eclectic Decour and super fresh food with so many options. It's worth coming back repeatedly just to try to different combinations. Great restaurant with lots of delicious healthy options. We ordered a bowl and a pita pocket. 9.95 and 7.50 respectively. Both entrees allow you to pick whatever toppings/sauces you want. For the falafel pita pocket arugula and white rice and then got spicy hummus, spicy shug sauce, yogurt sauce, and lots of other veggies included carmelized egg plant and Lebanese tabbouleh. For the bowl, we got arugula and brown rice with baba gannoush cilantro hummus to name a few. They also have 4 different unique fruit drinks that you can purchase! We didnt try them they were really busy and we were still served quickly. Only reason I put 4 stars is because the server inadvertently charged me extra meat and I didnt notice until we left. This was my first experience with Mezeh. I had tried Cava once before and these places are almost identical. My food of choice was the grain/rice bowl, half steak, half chicken, with spicy hummus amongst other toppings and dip. This was absolutely delicious and fresh tasting. As I was sitting enjoying my meal being a people watcher. Another guest came in to order food. The server had in gloves and begin touching pita bread. She then turned around to ask someone a question but reached into her pocket to send a text on her phone ... still wearing the gloves... I watched as she touched her arm and face and go back to the food. Sorry but gross. Think about how many time you've set your phone down somewhere now think about that all over your food. Ughhhhhh! I remember when this first place opened it was wonderful; the staff was friendly, efficient, and the food was delicious. But I went today, for the first time in awhile, and spent about half an hour there. We should've left when we walked in and saw there were no menus out. It was my partner's first time eating there and he had a hard time ordering due to the fact that, not only are there no paper menus, but there are no hanging menus anywhere either. So all we see are the toppings lined up and one very glum teen with long hair tucked under his hat. Neither he, nor the manager, who also handled the food, wore hair nets. The manager, by the way, has a very large, very robust bushy beard. Lord knows I was waiting to take a bite of delicious shredded lamb and rice, and have the rude realization that I was going to have to pull a wiry red hair out of my mouth. Anywho, I'm getting off track. So we walk up to the kid and he doesn't greet us or anything, just stands there looking like the money they're paying him to do his job is giving him some kind of cancer. I ask if he has any menus for my partner to look at. He says no, doesn't apologize or anything, and my partner just kind of has to wing it. Mr. Ray Of Sunshine finishes his part of our order and slides it to his manager. Leif Erikson puts down his phone, finishes our order and goes to ring us up. Doesn't smile, doesn't say he hopes we enjoy our meals, nothing. Tosses us our drinks, one of which was in a very banged up bottle, and proceeds to go back to texting. We go look for a place to sit. The one we finally settle on is covered in crumbs and bits of arugula, but, hey, it's better than the sauce stained and footprint covered cushions that were our other option. Sit down, proceed to eat for about 25-30 minutes. During that time, Leif Erikson goes outside at least 7 times. Each time, he is holding his phone close enough to his face that you'd think he was taking the ACTs. To add a little pazzazz to his performance, he sticks a cigarette in his mouth each time he makes his way outside to smoke against the side of the building. He only comes in to briefly chastise Sunshine, and to get better lighting for whatever sensational novel he is reading on his phone. Texts a bit, grumbles a bit, and then makes a triumphant dash for the door again. Now, the real gem of this experience was almost choking on the large piece of bone I found in my meal. I sincerely hope that you guys clean up your act and get your groove together again. And at least pretend you aren't texting. Have some shame. great casual place to meet up with friends. 4 categories to choose from to build you meal: 1) pick a Base like the MIX bowl - so that's a base of white or brown rice & greens. 2) pick a protein like Falafel, shredded lamb etc. I made a great choice getting the Chicken Shawarma - lots of flavor! 3) choose your toppings - 30 items to combine, mix up like Tabbouleh, couscous, roasted corn, feta, olives - OH MY! And 4) choose from 5 sauces: Tzatziki, Tahini, S'Hug sauce (hot), Balsamic vinaigrette, Greek feta dressing, and my fav was the spicy Harissa sauce. Mezeh is your typical walk through a line and tell them what you want type fast(ish) food chain. It is not your typical "just ok" meal that you would expect from a restaurant like this. I loved it! The food flavors are different from other places in town and the toppings are so yummy! I have been three times now and have had a delicious (and filling!) meal each time. I love the falafel and all the vegetarian options that they offer. Everything is fresh, colorful and tasty. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a quick meal to eat in or take out. This is not the place to go if you are looking for a leisurely lunch to visit with friends. Mezeh is a great alternative to the pretty bland and not very good for you offerings in the Short Pump area. Their fast-casual style is similar to Chipotle, but they have soooo much more variety. They have plenty of fresh, healthy options to suit a range of tastes and dietary restrictions. You can choose to get a bowl, wrap, or pita and I usually opt for a mixed grain and greens bowl. For my protein, I usually go for their chicken shawarma which is a little spicy and the meat is pretty tender and juicy. I also sometimes get the lamb (for an upcharge) when I'm feeling something different. It's very flavorful, tender, and not too gamy. I think it's a really good introduction to lamb for those who've never tried it. As for the toppings, I always get a hodgepodge of them and my bowl is a rainbow full of colors by the time I get through the line. Even though there are so many add-ins, all of the different flavors mesh very well together no matter what you get. So you really can't go wrong. The servers are also pretty helpful in guiding you through the array of choices as well. I also recommend getting their housemade juices which are just a touch sweet. Mezeh offers so many fresh, flavorful options---I just wish there was a location closer to me in downtown Richmond so they could be a more frequent dining choice for me. Love, love, love this place! I love the "build your own bowl" aspect, as I enjoy everything they offer! I usually order the grain bowl, with protein, hummus, and usually all the side veggies (the pickled ones are the best!). I finish my order with a fountain drink that they make in-house, usually the mint lemonade, or beet/apple juice. The service is good, and you can be in-and-out within 5 minutes (if there is no line). They offer fresh, high quality Mediterranean food and you can order it as a bowl or a wrap. I chose a pita wrap with lamb, and added cilantro hummus, rice, tabbouleh and onions in it. It was so good! I couldn't eat it all but the leftovers were good too. They offer their own juices, and I chose their lemon, lime and mint drink. It was the perfect refresher for the hot day.
