I attended the Check In to Check Out Yelp Elite event where I was given a free chicken shwarma bowl with the purchase of a soda. Before I went here I had never heard of Mezeh, but they seem to have several locations around the area. It's sort of like CAVA, except to me CAVA has porridge-type feel to their food, in my opinion, where Mezeh was more like a stuffed salad. It was kind of busy at the evening of the event, and I listened to see how many people were here for the event and how many were regular customers. I didn't hear any other Yelp people in front of me, so I guess it's just a popular place. I did like the open atmosphere of the restaurant. It seemed like an easy place to just hang out in. The staff had the lines move quickly and they were friendly. I liked that the ingredients were all labeled. At CAVA I have to just point out what I want, which I'm not really a fan of having to do. The prices of the meals weren't posted anywhere that I saw, though, so I didn't know how much my meal was until the very end. I'm also not sure if one meal type costs more than another. It would have been more of a problem if I had to pay for the meal. The soda fountain has independent drink company sodas. I had the cola and it was great. The shawarma had a lot of flavor and they didn't all mix together like other bowls like this do. Everything seemed to keep it's distinct flavor, which I enjoyed. The ingredients all tasted fresh, as well. One other thing that I liked was the peta bread was hollowed out, so you can fill it with food and eat it that way. Eagerly awaited the opening of this Mezeh Grill. I've been to one before and really liked it but it's far. Mezeh is similar to Cava, but a TON more choices. You can customize to your heart's content and portions are generous. I wanted to try several sauces on the side and asked for three without being told that was too much -- I have a feeling they'd give me however many I asked for, but I'm not greedy! Nice selection of non-carbonated beverages, which I really appreciated. It's hard to get anything non-carbonated aside from iced tea or water, so that's a good plus. They only bad thing was the music, while nice, was way too loud. Hard to carry on a conversation or even think. It was post the lunch time crowd and well before dinner, so maybe the place being lightly occupied made it seem louder, but it was bad. Other than that, no complaints, I'll likely be here at least once a week if not more. I grab lunch out almost daily right around here. New tastes quite welcome!! read more

I first heard of Mezeh from DoorDash. I was going through DoorDash and I ran into Mezeh. It seem like the hottest restaurant in the area at the moment. My girlfriend and I go and my first impression is: this is exactly like cava. The boy that was helping us was a bit rude. I felt rushed unfortunately (it was slow we were the only people in line). I kept asking questions since it was my first time. However, he keep saying "would you like a bowl or wrap" after answering the questions. Unfortunately, didn't catch his name. Amazing food, just avoid to Bulgar Pilaf. The first time I had it, it was incredible. Second time, it was so dried it actually hurt to try to chew it. The manager gave me a free replacement bowl with ZERO fight. And the Bulgar pilaf was really tough again. My guess is low turnover and they don't seem to cover their rice so it dries out. You'd think this would make them lose a star but holy **** everything else is so delicious I can't. The steak and chicken shawarma are very spicy so they've quickly become our sinus clearing food of choice. The toppings are plentiful and all very good. I'm giving 4 stars for now, but may upgrade to a 5th after a few more visits. This opened up close to our home and we were very excited. We've been big CAVA fans, but it's a little further away than we like to travel for a quick bite to eat and one of our recent visits there involved a pretty surly employee (which was surprising given our usual good experience at that restaurant). This was our first visit to Mezeh and I should say upfront that we'll definitely be coming back. The staff was friendly, we loved the atmosphere, and food portions were a great value for the money. There are a number of healthy options and our kids really enjoyed the Kids' Bowls, which is a big win for us to keep them happy while they're eating well. read more

I really wanted to love this place because the bowls do taste really good. But my brother and I both got chicken shawarma bowls together last night after eating differently all day and have BOTH been dealing with stomach pain consistently since then for more than 24 hrs now. And now that I think about it, this place has definitely made my stomach ache before but I just didn't wanna believe that Mezeh was the cause since their food is so yummy. Now that it has also made my brother (who has an iron stomach) sick at the same time I can't deny the truth. About 3 weeks ago we picked up 2 meals and went home. I had the chicken shawarma and after eating a few bites, I looked at the piece of chicken that I had bitten into and it was raw on the inside. Cut up other pieces and they were also raw inside. I immediately called multiple times, no answer, so I left a message warning them that the chicken was raw and to stop serving it. I left my name and number, repeated twice, and never received a call. I understand the place gets busy, but raw chicken, is not okay ever. Also, call customers back, acknowledge their concerns and apologize, it goes a long way. Won't be eating there again. read more

Stumbled upon this restaurant/location while on a drive in NoVA. The restaurant we planned to go to was closed for construction and Mezeh was nearby. We like other fast-casual Mediterranean places and the food here was on par with them. I would have given 4 stars if it wasn't for the service. There were 3 people ahead of me in line and a couple behind me as well. The worker behind the counter tried to do all our orders at once, which made a few people get vocal. So, he stopped, but ended up splitting the couple in front of me into two different groups, which caused confusion. It was a mess. On top of that, he wasn't very patient with those of use who were first time visitors and weren't sure of all the options. The food was good, not great, but I don't know that I'd go back. read more

I normally love Mezeh so it sores me to say this, but this one had the worst food yet. They served me burnt over crunchy falafel in my pita, and half the pita is dry and too hard to bite. I even went to mention that the falafel looked burnt but they served them anyway. read more

Rude staff & poor customer service. The food was OK, just be careful how you mix all those odd flavors. The staff just slops it into the bowl and ask, "Next item?" The meal ended up very salty. You really don't get a chance to evaluate what you're putting on top of your salad when you get herded through the line. My wife and daughter both ended up tossing most of their meals as well and they're real salad eaters. The owner should be the one teaching those kids important customer service skills. read more

I would give this place 3.5 stars. This is like a Chipotle concept where you get to customize and choose what you want except in Mediterranean form. You first pick your "meal" which is either a bowl, flat bread wrap or pita pocket. Then you get to chose a base (rice, veggies, etc). Then you choose your protein which has chicken and steak shawarma, lamb, turkey etc. Then you chose your toppings which are plentiful from olives, dips, corn, eggplant and the list goes on. You then top it off with their sauces and you have customized your bowl. This is one of three Mezeh locations I have been visiting in the area and tonight is my last time buying food from this location. Their portions have gotten smaller and smaller. When asked to add more in the past months, they grudgingly obliged, but not tonight. Tasty and healthy. You get a lot of value at this place. Highly recommend. I get the bowl with kale argula little bit of rice and mostly veggies. Probably my favorite fast food around the area right now. You get so many veggies for the dollar and it helped me lose some pounds. A great way to eat healthy. The food is amazing. However the staff are rude and greedy. They only give one word answers and act like they don't wanna be there, and they don't give much proportion at all. They will look you in the eye and intentionally skimp you of chicken or any other protein. I have ordered from here several times over the past few weeks as it is down the street from my work. The last time I got my order and had to drive all the way back because I got no utensils. Today, I ordered online anticipating it would be ready when I got there 20 minutes later as indicated in the email. I got to the location 22 minutes later and they hadn't even started fixing my bowl.
