Italian is my go to, so was happy to see this place when visiting Lake George. We had a nice table outside and ordered a bottle of wine to start. Wine was not chilled, but we will go with the flow. Started with a Caesar salad and my entree was lasagna and we ordered bread which didn't come complimentary and asked that it come with our entree. We waited really long for our salads and our bread arrived at the same time. Grrrr The Caesar was huge and could have easily fed 2 people. Of course, after maybe 6 bites our entree arrived. I just knew this was going to happen and it's exactly what we asked the server to not happen. A different server brought the entrees and when we commented on them being brought out way too early, his response was at least they were hot. Who trains these people???? My lasagna was ok. The sauce was more a tomato sauce than I prefer. Overall, what could have been great was mediocre. read more

Food had good flavor, but that is it. The shrimp scampi was skimpy. It was to have cherry tomatoes. It had only 2 cut in half cherry tomatoes. Really? Just 5 shrimp for $29.00 entree cost. No salad as you had to pay an additional $10. No bread as you had to pay an additional $5. Lasagna was tasty, but not $23 worth of lasagna - just lasagna. Maybe it was the curb appeal that enticed me to visit this place. I had noticed a few tables (maybe 2 or 2) of folks seated outside as well as the hostess station also located outside. Decided to stop and give this place a try. I had opted to be seated inside as it was a bit warm outside. I should've been concerned when I walked inside and noticed that there wasn't a single table of customers inside whatsoever. There was, however, a table full of employees just socializing. I was seated at a table and moments later I was greeted by a friendly server. I ordered up a glass of pinot grigio, a water, a house salad (as a starter) as well as a pizza. Drinks were brought out quickly. Salad followed several minutes after that. Then after about 35 minutes or so, I proceeded to walk to the counter to ask my server where the heck my pizza was and how 30 minutes is a bit too long. The server advised he would check on it right away. He came to my table to let me know that it was coming out of the oven right then and it should only be another minute or two. He was right. Finally after realistically about 40 minutes from the time of ordering the pizza at a place that had maybe 3-4 tables (inside and outside) the pizza had arrived. The pizza is what gave this place two stars - otherwise it would've been one star! The server did return several moments later to let me know that he checked with the kitchen and it turned out that they burnt the first pizza and had to remake it. That was very nice of them to let me know PRIOR to making me wait sooooo long. I got about three apologies and then the check for the full price. I quickly paid the check and left, never to return again. Definitely a big miss on this trip and a huge disappointment. They don't seem to care one bit about their patrons or about the quality of service. That's ok though. I won't be back! read more

The food at Mezzaluna's is very good, above average Italian cuisine. I went on a Saturday night with my group of fifteen, so our order was a little crazy. We got vegetable pies, a regular cheese pie, a few cheese and garlic fries, a caprese salad, a few garden salads, and sodas. Sadly, we couldn't sit outside because of the size of the party, but it looked so lovely up front. The waitress with the squeaky voice handled it well and the food came out quickly. My dad made a comment about how the vegetable pizza reminded him of pizza back in Iran, which is a huge compliment! It was very fresh, warm, and tasted oven-made. My garden salad was small, but I loved it, especially drizzled with their locally owned balsamic vinegar and olive oil brands. It's perfect if you want to be healthy and wholesome! Caprese salad was huge and filling, but I didn't try it. I tried a few of the fries, and they were warm and crispy; the marinara sauce and garlic bits they came with really superbly hit the spot. If you're feeling Italian, this is a prime family-friendly restaurant for a solid meal! Pizza, pasta, and other Italian staples in a warm, spacious, comfortable atmosphere. Worth a stop. read more

Stopped here for lunch...looked very inviting from outside and had lots of great reviews but I was disappointed. We came here for pizza but when I saw the crusts being left out on almost every table I may have been to quick to judge them. We ended up just getting appetizers and drinks, garlic knots (with side of marinara), I'm sure was made from the same pizza dough... didn't care much for them, they were awful. And the garlic parmesan fries were so oily that we couldn't eat more than a few. The service was great though. My boyfriend and I were walking on Canada St. and looking at menus on where to go. I'm from LI/NYC and can he a little apprehensive on eating Italian food away from home. Well, as we were trying to find somewhere to eat, a girl (Ida) was placing a sign up at Mezzaluna told us that the food was authentic Italian and delicious, so we decided to give it a try. Well, she was right and was our server that evening! The food was outstanding!!! We had the mozzarella appetizer, ravioli, shrimp scampi and the limoncello desert (which was homemade). Everything was delicious! The best part, Ida wound up being our server! Her amazing energy made the meal even that much better! She was amazing as the rest of the staff. So thank you to Ida for recommending, you were right, the food was amazing, and we were so happy to have you serve us! I would recommend 10/10' read more

I really wanted to like this place I really did, we came when visiting lake George for the week. We arrived and there were plenty tables available outside but we requested inside as we had 3 children and it was 90° so it was way too hot outside to have a warm meal. Anyway, we walk inside & the place is pretty run down but aside from that there is no air, we walked passed a fan that was on the floor in there but where we sat was 10000% warmer than it even was outside. We asked our waitress if there was air and she said no I'm sorry this is all we have. Ok. We then order our drinks, garlic bread and food at the same time since it already took a couple minutes for the waitress to ask. We then waited a solid 15 mins for just our drinks. After 20 mins the waitress came back to ask us if we wanted garlic bread or garlic knots.. I said you didn't put it in yet? What the heck! We told her what we ordered now as our children were getting even more upset because they're hungry and it's now been almost 45 mins since we sat down she came out with the bread. It was good, but then our food came out about 15 mins later and that's when we started to really think we should've just walked by. The penne ala vodka was pretty much like regular tomato sauce, it wasn't creamy and really tasted like regular pasta sauce. My husband ordered chicken parm, his chicken was SO chewy I've never experienced that before in my life with chicken at all.. pretty worry some. My children were supposed to share a kids spaghetti and meat balls, the waitress put it in as an adult size and charged us $17 dollars for theirs. aside from that part the meat balls were burnt. I really wanted to like this place, it needs to be updated and totally needs air conditioning with a revamp to their menu! In Lake George with my girls for a little getaway! Decided on checking this place out as they offered outdoor seating. The wait time was supposed to be 30-40 min and I would be texted when my table was available. Pleasantly surprised we only waited about 15 min...good thing with hungry kids. We were seated outside with enough comfortable spacing between tables. The waitress was very friendly and helpful when taking our order. Now the food.....not the best. I ordered Eggplant Rollatini with a side of penne. The eggplant was very mushy and had no flavor at all. The sauce on the pasta was bland also. My girls ordered a personal Buffalo chicken pizza and Mozzarella sticks. The pizza was fresh and good according to my daughter. The mozzarella sticks were burnt and wasn't filled with a lot of cheese. For the prices they charge this was definitely not worth it !! I would not eat here again. read more

Considering that most dining options on the main drag in Lake George are a solid two stars, Mezzaluna wasn't actually all that bad. By normal life standards, this is not the best quality Italian food. But, by lake George standards it was actually pretty tasty. I'll definitely keep it in mind for next time. My stomach had kind of been bothering me and I was craving something that couldn't be messed up. AKA most of the sports bar style food spots that consume Canada St. were outtie. Pasta and red sauce seemed like a very solid option, and on that front Mezzalunas most certainly delivered. I ordered a half portion of pasta with meatballs. Or, pasta with 'meatball' as I should call it, because there was just one in the massive bowl of penne. I get that it was a half portion, but if I had ordered a full, priced at 14.99 I would have been let down by just two meatballs. Luckily, the one meatball that I indulged in was super yum. To wash everything down we split a carafe of house wine which was absolutely massive and was only 20 bucks. Lack of meatball(s) aside, this is a good option on the main drag if you are not feeling bar food. It's all classic red sauce Italian, and you really can't go wrong with anything here. read more

Had lunch at Mezzaluna's and had the Margherita Pizza and Fried Ravioli's. The food and cocktails were wonderful. Our server was Makayla and she was absolutely the best. Great personality! Here's our issue when we received the bill there was a message stating that there is a "convenience " fee of 3.7% for using a credit card. Really? This left us with such a bad taste in our mouth that we won't be back. Very unfortunate because like I said the food, drinks, and server were all great. Some advice... I work for a bank and if you are paying 3.7% for your Merchant fees than you should renegotiate your contract. Making a profit on someone using a credit card because they are not using cash is simply distasteful. read more

There were 6 of us that came here for lunch. The wait staff was great but the food was horrendous. We ordered boneless chicken wings which came out raw. We ordered 1 meatball sub that had 1 meatball for the entire sub and 2 chicken parm subs that had 1/2 of a chicken breast in each sub. We ordered 2 pasta dishes and one was missing meat sauce and only came with marinara which wasn't very flavorful. We were offered dessert to make up for the boneless chicken wings but because the food wasn't good we decided to cut our losses. If the restaurant was busy, I could see why the portions may have been lacking, but we went around 3p and the restaurant was very quiet. The only reason why we chose this restaurant was because the initial restaurant we wanted was full and there was an hour wait. Please avoid this place and go anywhere else read more

The outside sandwich board is a little too over the top with claims of, 'REAL ITALIAN CHEFS!' and 'AUTHENTIC ITALIAN FOOD!' and you think of the old Shakespeare line, "doth protest too much, methinks". The hostess waiting by said sandwich board tells you, "Come inside - it's air-conditioned" and you are seated and you learn real quick that there's no A/C and just a small box fan that's positioned in the middle of your table and another table across from you - so neither of you are feeling the benefits of the fan. We had a nice table on the patio and our waitress was fantastic! The kids enjoyed their pasta and chicken parm dishes and even took it for leftovers to gobble up later that night. I had a delicious chicken parm sub which came with chips that would have been better left off the plate. My boyfriend had the veggie penne with some chicken - it tastes good but the added chicken he requested was almost cubed and there was a lot of the wine wine / oil left in the dish. Onion petals- the most flavorful thing of the meal. Breading was good and the dipping sauce was decent Family Caesar- the portion for the price was amazing, definitely recommend the family sized salads for a group of 4 or 5. The dressing itself was very basic, slightly overdressed but hit the spot Buffalo Chicken Pizza- the better of the two pizzas. The chicken itself was yummy, would probably order something with the chicken tenders on it.
