Our waiter was more interested in hanging out with the other employees at the restaurant. My husband's pork chop didn't really have much flavor and his risotto was burnt. Definitely will not go back. Beet salad is decent too, I got it with side of prawn and dressing on the side. Really like the goat cheese and touch of pomegranate seeds. Service was prompt and attentive. Wine choices are excellent and fairly priced for a restaurant. Tiramisu was okay but a little dry and too thick and creamy for my taste. Kinda prefer mine a little more soaked (but not soggy) if that makes sense. Still very enjoyable. Ambiance is warm, cozy and intimate. Bartender Cheryl is amazing!!! 13 people at the bar ordering drinks and dinner... And she handled it all, including drinks for the entire Restaurant! She also rings up all the bills from all the tables throughout the whole restaurant...!!! Pork chop was amazing however it took over 45 minutes to get it to the table and Cheryl apologized profusely. We frequent this restaurant a few times a year. It's always a pleasure and we enjoy the good food. But gosh it's so cold right now in that restaurant. On a cold evening you want to walk in and feel warmth. It didn't happen this evening. I hate spending a lot of money for dinner and being uncomfortable eating it. And then also our little bread cubettes that we were served were cold. The Caesar salad amazing! Short ribs that my husband had were perfect also. Lentil soup, meh. And what is up with the hostess and her attire? I know she's a young girl and just working part time I'm sure, but goodness sakes, white tennis shoes and jeans? We came here on a Saturday evening for my mom's birthday and it was the perfect spot for a family dinner. The enclosed patio was spacious, clean, and cute with the bistro lights. The toddler had a great time walking around. Food was excellent. We had the fettuccine carbonara, salmon, rigatoni, cod special, tomato salad, gem salad, and Arancini. I'd order all of these again. A friend and I celebrated our birthmonth at Mezzo. We opted to dine outside for a weekday lunch. Ambiance was wonderful. We were served focaccia bread and olive oil while we waited for our orders- the bread was very tasty! We gobbled it up quickly and asked for a little more:) I had the rigatoni bolognese and she had the market ravioli, both very filling and tasty. I couldn't finish my meal up and took the rest home. My friend seemed to enjoy her meal - which was a 5 cheese ravioli in a creamy sauce that day. The restaurant has more food selection for dinner so we will have to come back. They also have a full bar. I like the location - within walking distance to Brookside homes and businesses and just a couple of minutes from the freeway. On a road trip and stopped at Stockton for the night. Found this gem close to our hotel, food is really good. My husband had a bisteca and it was so well prepared. We had friends visiting from SoCal & they like Italian food so we figured they will enjoy a delicious meal at a low-key yet urbane restaurant in Brookside. We had the Watermelon and tomato salad, which was a hit. They did not offer bottled wine, just glasses only because of covid they say. It's probably best because we shouldn't drink so much anyway. The Landscaped patio seating was great not only because the tables are well spaced but the shrubbery provided privacy and noise abatement. The purpose of this review is not to go back and forth with Denise. It is true we notified you of our guests who were unable to attend due to family illnesses, out of our control. We provided advanced notice of the change in guest numbers asap and - Denise met this with understanding. Inaccuracies: I have our correspondences and there was never any mention of minimum fee for hosting an event. This detail was never mentioned until Denise's response here. Timing of not being prepared for our event actually took her and her staff well over - 10 minutes. Our tables were not set up according to our layout plans, they were not dressed and set. The staff was literally setting up in front of us, making our party wait, in the heat, with no beverages offered or food as planned. It is no surprise that Denise must not have been overseeing our event, as the charcuterie boards (as orginally ordered and planned and set up for guest's arrival with champagne and cocktails) WERE NOT served before entrees - in fact, I had to remind them our guests needed them, one arrived at our table after salads, while the others arrived during entrees. It's yet another disappointment Denise refutes the truth and tries to cover up. NO STARS. A good lesson for the restaurant is simply acceptance of how Mezzo dropped the ball in execution of our "planned lunch event". Props to *Waiter Jaymard for jumping in and handling the situation with grace and saved the event because he was cordial and able to do what he could with what he had. He had skills in damage control. I thank my family for their understanding and our son offered grace and understanding as well. Thankfully the chef did a nice job. FIVE STARS. Another fabulous evening at Mezzo. This is the best restaurant in Stockton/Lodi, hands down. Heather, our server is the most professional, attentive restaurant worker I've ever had. She not only remembered me, but she remembered the wine I ordered my last visit. And I've dined in New York, L.A., and S.F. Apparently Mezzo has a new owner. At a farm-to-table restaurant, the menu will change with seasonal offerings. I'm hopeful that the new owner doesn't change that philosophy. Also, the wine list has been excellent, with "secret holdings" for the connoisseur willing to spend a few bucks. I hope the new owner doesn't change that either. Hubby was so sweet to book us a reservation for Valentine's day dinner, after booking, he mentioned that the restaurant called asking him to put a card on file in order to keep his reservation, which I find interesting that it isn't requested upon booking. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and was told to wait a few minutes for our table to be set. Upon sitting and was obvious it was a busy night, we didn't get our water nor placed our order until a while for our server to get to us. We ordered the four course meal with the Tagliatelle and everything was delicious!! I hope to give this place another try when they aren't so busy as we were waiting for our meal for quite some time and my steak was on the colder side as it arrived. After waiting for so long, I didn't have the energy in me to flag with the waiter and wait longer for it to be cooked.
