My husband and I went to MG's for the first time yesterday. We enjoyed our dining experience and would probably go back again. I would give the atmosphere and service a five, the onion rings a five, my husband would give their french fries about a 4 1/2, but we would give their hamburgers about a three or his maybe a 3 1/2. We also had a dessert, a piece of their Italian Cream Cake and I would give it a five on being moist, a five on their icing, but for me personally, a three as far as taste because I don't like almond extract. However, if you like almond extract in your desserts, you might give it a five. To me, their hamburgers were better than a fast food restaurant, however, I was wanting something that was really savory. I will say they had some of the best onion rings I've ever eaten and my husband and I did enjoy our dining time there. This a great nostalgic burger joint in a residential part of Sherman. Taillights and vintage automobile parts/memorabilia decorate the walls and ceiling. It's a pretty small place. They isn't much room to wait in line to order before it goes out the front door. Luckily, we visited when it was slow, but I'm wondering what they do when there is inclement weather with a line out the door. The menu and music is 50's theme. Lots of burgers to choose from named after old cars. They are pretty much your "run of the mill" built burgers- nothing off the wall or unusual. I decided on the Hot Rod Ford with an order of French fries. Bun was fresh and made at the sister bakery a few doors down. Burger was a burger. Good choice using the Oklahoma based bbq sauce Head Country. Fries were pretty much your standard fresh-cut fries, but very greasy- which I kinda expected they would be. They offer AYCE burgers on Saturdays and AYCE CFS on Sunday I believe. Prices are competitive, and AYCE prices are extremely reasonable. They have been here for decades and the building shows the wear and tear, but don't let that deter you from giving them a shot. FYI, if you have a person in a wheelchair, they are not very handicapped compliant. They are probably grandfathered in. Overall experience, it was a decent burger for the price. The bun totally made it worth revisiting. Atmosphere is cool if you like the oldies. The fried foods are just your stand fare for burger joints. Great service and the food is really good. A small suggestion would be to make the pieces of chicken bigger on the bacon wrapped jalapeño appetizer. It was good, but the inside second wrap of bacon is chewy and not crisp. I had the Cuban sandwich with sweet potato fries. In one word, awesome. Will definitely return. read more

Ate here today with my girlfriend. We are both burger fans. First off if you are following your GPS and it looks like you're going into a group of houses you ARE going the right way. This place sits smack dab in an older neighborhood. We had the fried pickle chips which were crispy and good. Nothing overly fancy just done right. I thought that the burgers were really good but one suggestion my girlfriend had was a slightly bigger patty. The hamburgers come with your choice of either french fries or onion rings. Best burgers anywhere Maine to California. I've lived in nearly a dozen states and visited many others and found none any better than Mg's. Different maybe but none better. Huge patties well cooked and the best homemade fries I've ever had anywhere. The new location is nifty but liked the smaller, original one better. Excellent service also. First off, let me tell you that I am a connoisseur of burgers... But the folks at MG's? They absolutely have the best burger I've ever had hands down. I got the "Pontiac" burger. Wasn't expecting much from a burger place in a residential district in the middle of nowhere. Holy cow. It was heaven between two freshly made buns. Absolutely incredible. 10/10 would get again. The burger needs to be made into a meme. It's that good. I also got a side of onion rings. These aren't your standard frozen onion rings. They were fresh made, hand battered and fried. HOLY MOLY. And their sweet tea was incredible as well. We came in with a group of about 25 and they easily accommodated us, joked with us the entire time, and handled the group incredibly. PLUS this place has a drive thru. Seriously, if you have not been here, come check it out! It's worth the drive! read more
