Burrito Bomba 'Mi Abuelito' (burrito challenge)
    Caden B.

Mi Abuelito was super average for me, nothing terrible, but nothing special either. I even tried to take on their burrito challenge (and failed), but honestly the burrito just wasn't that great to begin with. The food didn't have much flavor, and nothing really stood out. It felt like it was thrown together rather than made with care, and the overall quality just wasn't impressive. The chips and salsa were okay, pretty standard, nothing memorable. The staff was also very average. They weren't rude or anything, but nothing about the service stood out or made the experience better. The atmosphere was probably the best part of the whole visit. It has a nice vibe and feels comfortable, which helps bring the rating up a bit. But overall, I wasn't a huge fan and don't feel compelled to go back. Decent place if you're hungry and nearby, but definitely not something I'd go out of my way for.

Very vibrant, fun restaurant! We were greeted and sat immediately, and welcomed by our very outgoing server. Their salsa had a good flavor to it. Our food came out quickly. I got one of their burritos, and when I tell you this plate was huge I mean it. The burrito itself was delicious as well. The price was more than other Mexican restaurants in the area, but portions were definitely bigger so it evens out. Overall, I would return for this burrito, LOL.

I went here for lunch after doing a bit of shopping next door. They are located in the strip behind Kinkos. First of all I had THE BEST waiter- Carlos. I was having and okay day but man did he brighten it up! He was nice and attentive and funny. You could really tell he loved his job. I ordered the lunch fajitas and they were really good. I wish they came with lettuce and pico but I also could've asked too. I added a picture of the lights because I thought those were cool. I will for sure come here again and sit in Carlos's section.

Passing through the area. It's Taco Tuesday so here we are! Was not expecting much but this place blew us both away. The artistic decor just beautiful and authentic. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was even better! We've been to so many Mexican restaurants in different states and it's hard to find just a simple taco that tastes right. We're very pleased we found the "one" to come back to.

The food is always good here! Our service was quick. They were sort of busy when we came, but we were able to get seated quickly. We came to celebrate my brother's birthday and will be back. There is parking right outside the door.

Wife the other night after a rough day said she needed a margarita. I did a Yelp search for nearby & came across Mi Abuelito. I am not a fan of Mexican food but after perusing the menu I thought I'd be ok. The location is at the end of a strip mall. Doesn't look like much from the outside but boy is the inside colorful. The pics we took didn't do the colors justice. She ordered a mango margarita which she found both huge & tasty. We had an appetizer of quezon with beef which was okay nothing out of the ordinary. For her entree she ordered chick flautas which she found good. Nothing spectacular but not bad. Would have found some quest to dip them in a great addition. My nachos came out just as I ordered them. Chips, protein, cheese & sour cream. I found it very tasty! The chips are homemade. Service was hit or miss. No problem getting seated, served , drink refills but seemed to take forever to get our check. Overall a good experience & we will be back Pro tip If you like chips & salsa that come free you can skip an appetizer as the meals are large.

Like many Mexican restaurants around Indy, Mi Abuelito has a lot of color and flare in the decor. Though, I think Mi Abuelito probably goes well over the top compared to others. If you find lots and lots of color, sculptures, and art distracting, this might not be the place for you. The server was fine. And so was the food. Nothing here really made me say "Wow!" But it was all OK and I'd eat here again if I was in Greenwood and wanted a traditional US Mexican meal. The place was clean, service was fine, and the food was fine.

Stuffed Did I mention I was stuffed? It was the meat for me. I know I need to say more, but some things don't require a lot of words. This restaurant was great! The food was delicious. I did not care for my chelada, but everything else was terrific. I had the fajitas De Luja - steak, chicken, shrimp, carnitas, pork rib, and chorizo. Oh yes, and peppers and onions.. Oh, wait, and rice and beans.. Shoot, I forgot to mention the small salad and flour tortillas. Yep, check them out

The reviews for this place propelled me to give it a try. Any place that has at least a 4 star rating peaks my interest, especially considering I am still looking for a fave go to Mexican restaurant. This restaurant had a very colorful decorated interior. It seems more so than I have ever seen before. Our server, ( and all of the servers ) were so friendly and upbeat. We ordered a beef wet burrito and a combo plate with a beef taco, refried beans and a chile relleno. My friend enjoyed her burrito. My combo plate was OK They didn't skimp with the beef taco because it was filled to the top with ground beef. I didn't get much else with it. Barely any cheese or lettuce. The chili relleno was satisfactory. The beans were not impressive. They were very runny and had an odd color to them. They weren't flavorful. The complimentary tortilla chips and puréed salsa were just OK as well. I felt the price for the food was a bit high. I probably won't return to this restaurant.

Best tacos in the city, great drinks, the waiters are always SO nice, beautiful dining area & bathroom. Our favorite restaurant.

My family decided to come to dinner here tonight. We were seated quickly but didn't have service for drinks or food fast. We ordered queso and guacamole- both were pretty good but not amazing. I ordered the arroz con pollo which is always a solid choice. They have large portions here so I ended up taking some home. Overall I enjoyed the food. The place is decorated decently for a Mexican spot and I enjoyed how large the space was.

Overall a chill environment and ith a nice front patio/ sidewalk seating area. We enjoyed the chips n salsa varieties, surprisingly the darker salsa wasn't spicier just a different flavor. Orde re d the chicken burrito which was gigantic easily enough for 2 to share. Very well made fresh ingredients, covered in sauces and cheesy. And we all tried different margaritas, mine was a strawberry fruity take on a margarita, good and garnished nicely. Rated fresh and flavorful, not very strong and a bit pricey. Especially with some being $100+ for a drink was wild. Overall nice place, nice environment, wasn't busy and tasted good but is priced higher than most Mexican restaurants in the city.

Driving through…read morehere, you see the blight and the abandonment of this area of Indianapolis since the decline of manufacturing. Then again, it's not an uncommon story unfortunately- large parts of the city forgotten in terms of economic development but then suddenly needed during times of campaigning. Had taken Keystone and then Rural Street to get here, and the potholes are not kind. But, we had this place on our list and were determined to make it here at least once. Tlaolli stood out for its vegan offerings. Plenty of vegan taco options, birria (an absolute rarity to see vegan birria), and torta. They offer soy chorizo, jackfruit, and king oyster mushrooms as protein options. The exterior is colorful, and inside there are seating options. We had gotten our food to go, so I cannot comment too much on the service. Had placed our order online, and the food was ready within the estimated time in the order. We ordered the vegan birria tacos ($17.99), the vegan torta ($10.99 base but added soy chorizo, which was $3.99), and the no-no-no taco ($5.99). Our total with fees was approximately $45. Tlaolli offers outdoor seating, so when the weather is nicer this would be a good place to come. Next to the East Washington IPL branch, Tlaolli has a colorful green exterior with neon signage. Food: The food was very good. The proteins were nicely seasoned and juicy. The highlight for me was the birria tacos and the consome. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10. This is a great local business in the area to support: offers a diverse menu of options with food that is comforting and tasty.
