Nick catered a wedding at our home last month for 29 guests. He was very accommodating and helpful in planning a menu. He personally delivered the 4 appetizers at 12:30 and later delivered 3 dinner entries and salad at 5pm. We were expecting 3 appetizers however,Nick brought an extra pasta salad on the house. I should also mention with dinner, NIck delivered desserts from Good Eats and Sweets (also 5 stars). No exaggeration, there was enough food for 50 people. The quality of the food was outstanding. Every dish was homemade, fresh, prepared to perfection and delicious. Not only the best Italian food in this area, but the best food in general. I'm astonished this place isn't a 5 star rated Italian place here locally. We went at a slower time of the day (2pm) so service was top notch (Thanks Cassidy!). I'd like to assume, based on the enthusiasm of the staff and owner, that this type of service stays consistent throughout the busy hours. Nick, the owner, was on site and was very passionate and gave great recommendations. The important part. Incredible food. Every single item we had was way above expectations. Meatballs with bread sticks (I spooned the extra sauce lol), pesto based bruschetta (I do not typically like anything pesto based...this dish was extremely good and fresh). Mains: lobster bisque and crab linguini was fantastic. "Spicy" is a loosely based term. Know you'll get a slight spice that really adds some originality to an already original dish. I would have been happy with crab and lobster, but it's topped with heaps of shrimp as well. Veal Piccata sauce was incredible. Creamy and with that touch of lemon and caper you hope for. We slightly regretted trying the veal (we usually always go chicken) but that is a preference choice. Veal is richer and the lightness of the chicken would have been welcomed in the flavorful sauces. All in all a late lunch turned into a great experience with some of the best food I've had in a loooong time. It's a sociable spot so not only do you get proper Italian food you get a truly authentic experience. **Last note: incredible portions. By the time we got to the main we could only eat so much. The portions were very large and I loved that the pasta come with a side salad. Definitely get a good amount for the prices. Inside was clean and waitress was friendly. Good beer specials. We stopped in for a late lunch yesterday. Newish development on Morrison Plantation, Mi Amiche anchors the stretch of retail and office spaces in a sleek gray and stacked stone-constructed building. The restaurant has outdoor seating available and the patio was packed even at this off-hour. We were seated inside at a comfortable distance from other diners. I hate when they corral everyone in one space of an empty restaurant. The floors are concrete with no finish, which I guess is supposed to be urban industrial, but I didn't think it did the excellent restaurant justice. The food is where Mi Amiche shines. We started with an appetizer of Spinach and Artichoke Dip which was phenomenal. This is definitely one of my favorite renditions of this dish around the Lake. I'd go back just for that dip! Creamy and cheesy with chunks of artichokes and fresh spinach throughout. The pita chips that it was served with were so much better than salty tortilla chips. So good. The garden salad was simply huge, full of yummy veggies and topped with a homemade Ranch dressing. The lettuce was a flavorful mix of greens including spinach and little gem varieties. Really a great salad, and you can add proteins if desired. I also had a "cup" of the Tomato Basil Bisque which was so fantastic. Totally homemade and packed with tons of flavor, one of the best representations of that soup I've had, presented with a simple basil leaf on top. It needed no other embellishments, but the menu said it came with homemade croutons, alas mine did not. Our service was top notch, we never had to wait for anything or had our glasses get empty. Went for dinner on a Saturday night. We had a reservation for 7 at 7 and only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. We sat outside since it cooled off. Started out with the calamari and the meatballs which were both good. Had the house salad which was tasty. Then I had the gnocchi with sausage. The gnocchi is stuffed with ricotta which was excellent. Way too much food for one person. Finished off the dinner with the chocolate cake which was over the top decadent. We dined here for brunch for a last minute Easter brunch and were blown away by the food and service. We had a party of four adults and two infants and the restaurant accommodated us easily without reservations. The bloody Mary's are quite tasty and the service from the staff was wonderful. They made us feel like a welcome part of the fam! Pat was great and gave wonderful menu recommendations! The food was amazing and each dish was a large portion size. We absolutely love going to MiAmiche. We love their breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday after church. The Turkey Bacon Swiss is my absolute favorite and the amazing fries OH MY!!! The staff is always amazing no matter how busy they are they try their best to keep you informed of when your order will be out and will always keep you hydrated. I've been here a few times. The food is decent little seasoning. Just had the Chicken CAJUN Penne Pasta the other day. The chicken was dried up breast that tasted as if it's been cooked, frozen, and reheated. No CAJUN seasoning at all. I swear I'm not exaggerating when I say there was 2 lbs. of pasta in the bowl. I really do like the food for the most part at this restaurant. The Wedding Soup is my favorite and is outstanding. Many of the dishes I and my family have had have been really very good. However, I ordered the Blackened Chicken Alfredo for delivery and it was a 0, a zero. It was not blackened, the chicken was, not almost was, was the worst texture and lacking in any flavor I've ever had. I was really looking forward to it too and ended up tossing it. My sister surprised me today by taking me to this delicious restaurant in Mooresville which is one of her favorites. We share similar tastes with cuisine and she wanted me to try the "Soprano" salad. I was pretty excited with anticipation over the homemade salad dressing they prepare and I was not disappointed. I tried the Italian and thousand island. Both of these were dressings were perfect. The Italian dressing is so popular that they sell it daily to the locals. The salad had fresh, mozzarella, tomatoes, spring lettuce, ham, salami and a few other surprises. The portion was enough for two people and the meat was tasty. I will return to this restaurant and try the shrimp or salmon next. I now understand why my sister loves to frequent this place. This is my first time trying this restaurant. I was really excited to try it since they a sign out front saying they were voted best itlian restaurant 2024. I ordered the blackened chicken penne pasta to go. Very disappointed. The dish was so bland, no seasoning on the chicken at all. The chicken was cut up in little chunks, mixed into the pasta and there was hardly any in there. Also the "bread stick" was the equivalent of a Walmart frozen bread stick with some parm sprinkled on it. For 28 bucks after tax... not worth it. I doubt I'll try it again but if I do I won't be getting that dish again. read more

I'm going to try and compose my thoughts while fighting through my food coma. First time visiting Mi Amiche, and it certainly will not be our last! They've been showing up a lot on the Lake Norman Eats page on Facebook. After seeing their posts a few times, I finally looked at their menu on the restaurant's website. Utica Greens? Chicken Riggies? What?!? Here in the Charlotte area? The timing was great, since my parents were coming down from NJ to visit for the weekend, so we made a beeline there tonight. We started with the Utica Greens, which were delicious and had just the right amount of heat from the cherry peppers. The risotto balls and spinach & artichoke dip were also both excellent. For dinner, my father and I both got the requisite chicken riggies. Soooo delicious. My wife got a special of linguini with lobster bisque sauce, which had shrimp, crab and lobster meat, while my mother and daughter both got baked ravioli. To say the least, no one was disappointed. It felt like home! (I'm from central NJ, originally, not central NY, but we've found a serious dearth of good Italian food north of the city here!) When he took a short break from directing traffic, checking on customers and the kitchen, i had a chance to chat a little with the owner, Nick, who seems like a great guy. Someone I'd want to sit around and BS with over a joint and couple of beers or whiskies. We told him we'd absolutely be back soon. My only cautionary tale - don't eat for a while before you head to dinner at Mi Amiche. Like maybe a day or two prior! The food is not only delicious, but the portions are enormous! read more

We had a pretty good time all around at mi amiche. We sat outside as it was a beautiful evening.  Nice dog friendly patio.  Staff was friendly and loved our little doggy. We got the pretzel appetizer and it was not bad. I will say it was a little dense, and didnt have the salt on the outside which i think it needed. It came with beer cheese which was ok, not as smooth as I like.  Both the pretzel and  cheese dip did have a good flavor though I loved my lemon drop martini it was better than a lot of "craft " cocktails i have had out at fancier more expensive places. The bartender- who i think was also our server- told us that the  limoncello is housemade. You could defentily taste that a lot of attention went into that drink from the limoncello to the myers lemon. Also the glass was perfect for it! I love a good cocktail in a pretty glass. We also got a ceaser salad. A litte too much dressing but other than that it was really good. The dressing was balanced perfectly. And those croutons were awesome. We got the chicken riggie- the chicken had a good texture ,but was a little bland. However, the sauce was great (creamy, and flavorful) with a hint of spiciness. We opted out of dessert -but they have a ton of choices all made by QC bakery which are usually really good. Will be back because we did enjoy our time there. It seems like the place is still ironing out exactly what kind of vibe they want for the restaurant, but i think once they do it really will be a great spot! read more

Tried Mi Amiche on advise of our kids. Went on busy night several large parties. We sat at bar and immediately were welcomed. Drinks were made very quickly. The bartender though very busy and deluged with orders was very efficient and maintained a very pleasant demeanor despite the high demand time, not just with us but with the 6-8 people sitting at the bar. Food was brought out hot and cooked to perfection. The eggplant was large portion with a side of angel hair. Very delicious. Wife had tomato bisque and deep fried cheese ravioli. Both very good and filling. We loved the atmosphere though with several large groups and lots of children it was a bit loud but not overly so. I would recommend you try this venue. I'm sure you'll like it and I'm sure you'll go back often. read more

Me and Michi is our new go to place for authentic Italian. The sauce is authentic and the pasta is fresh. The servers are friendly and helpful in a fun way. The restaurant has a nice porch and outdoor area as well as indoor seating and a bar. Nothing pretentious here just good old-fashioned Italian. What a great little space. We enjoyed our brunch today at Mi Amiche on the great covered patio. The drinks were just as delicious as the food. They were packed right when the door opened. We now understand why. Our food took quite a while to get to the table (an hour +) but our server was pretty attentive. She was training a new server and they both seemed a little overwhelmed with the crowded patio but they handled it like champs. we didn't mind the wait too much because we did get the spinach dip as an appetizer and it was so good! When our entrees did arrive they were warm and delicious. My salmon was cooked perfectly! This was our first time visiting but we will be back for some pasta! One the way out, who we assumed was the owner, stopped us to thank us for visiting and made sure everything was up to par. What a warm touch! read more

the reason this is getting two stars is the bruschetta was excellent. BUT we had chicken piccata and the lobster bisque and shrimp linguini- I'm amazed at how bad it was, and I hate to say it because we had such high expectations. The chicken picatta had sauce like lumpy gravy with a pasty taste and the chicken ...ugh, the other dish was a giant plate of pasta with 6 shrimp and another thick sauce....seriously not good. Restaurant has zero ambience; I was sitting at a table looking at the empty produce boxes in a corner. service is what you'd expect from a high school girl-(she was very nice!). I'm sorry to say it, but please do yourself a favor and either go to a different restaurant or really lower your expectations. read more

I'll start by saying the food & our waitress Hannah merit 5 stars. The owner merits none. I ordered the "Forget About It" omelet and asked if I could sub Grits for the hash brown potatoes. I was assured I could. It must be noted there are menu items offering a choice of hash browns or grits. When the check came, I was charged $2.00 for the grits. There is NO mention of an upcharge on the menu for a substitution, nor did the waitress mention it. Additionally, there was a credit card fee added to the bill when it was presented (2.75%). I am aware that businesses pay credit companies for each charged sale. I have NEVER seen a charge appear on my bill, especially BEFORE I made my payment. The owner refused to address my questions when asked. (Like, "would the credit card fee be removed if I paid cash?" A good business would advise customers of these extra charges up front, on the menu, like he does by stating a 20% tip will be added to the check for groups of 8 or more. As an aside, while waiting, there were at least 3 empty (and cleared) tables for 4 in the dining area. The owner mostly stood around blocking the register instead of seating customers. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE! We arrived at the restaurant about 5 minutes early. I told the hostess we had a reservation and she said our table would be ready in a few minutes. I was happy to hear that because it was packed. Every table was full and the lobby was full of people waiting. We waited for about 20 minutes. At this point, we were the only ones waiting. I could see there were no empty tables and a man who appeared to be the owner or manager was looking for an open table, presumably to seat us. Neither he nor the hostess had checked in with us, so I went to the hostess to ask when our table would be ready. She say "it will be ready soon". I went back to waiting with my family and noted that the man was still looking around for a table. I asked him if he had a table available for us. He said he was waiting for people to leave and seemed irritated that I asked. We continued to wait. A few minutes later, he asked if we wanted a drink. I said that would be nice. He did not mention if it was on the house or not. I didn't care - it would just be nice to have a drink while we continued to wait. The hostess came over to take our drink. She went to give the order to the bartender then returned and said we needed to wait at the bar and pay our tab before being seated! There was no where to stand at the bar so I said we'll continue to wait in the lobby. The bartender brought our drinks over and asked if everything was OK - apparently because she was asked to bring our drinks over. I said we had a reservation, but had been waiting about 25 minutes and still didn't have a table. She said "we have a problem with people lingering at their table after they eat." I said it's very crowded and it seems like they may have overbooked their reservations. Her reply was oh no, they never do that. In the middle of the conversation, the owner/manager interrupts and tells her to get back to the bar. It's now almost 7:30 and the manager/owner is moving tables to put two tables together. He leans over the dividing wall between the lobby and dining room and says we can be seated. Four people would sit on one side with their backs to the wall and looking out at the restaurant, like sitting at the head table at a wedding. The other two would be a the ends of the table. He wants to know if that is OK. I said let me talk to my family. I told him we did not want to sit like that. He said the only other option was to wait for someone to leave. At this point, I said to my son that it is his birthday dinner. We are happy to wait, but if he wanted to leave and order out from somewhere else, we could do that instead. We figured it would be difficult to get a table anywhere else without a reservation. He decided he'd like to leave and order out. So we left. Some of us get in our car and others are walking to cars. At this point, the front door opens and the owner/manager yells across the parking lot "You're leaving?!! I give you drinks and you're leaving?!" I heard this and jumped out of the car and said "Seriously, you're an ass!" Yes, not one of my proudest moments. Some other words were said that I can't remember. I know I said that not once did you apologize for the situation or our wait time. He then goes back inside and another man comes out. He talks calmly and says he is one of the owners. When we are talking and I say how long our wait was even tho we had a reservation, he starts to explain that this is the 4th restaurant he has owned (how is that relevant?) and there is nothing you can do about people that won't leave. The other one then comes out again and says this is ridiculous that you are arguing about a reservation because he rang the bell that day for a friend who just completed treatment for leukemia. I'm trying to process why he would say that when my husband had the sense to say "we all have life issues, that is not relevant." He then goes back in the restaurant and comes out again and yells that you just called tonight about a reservation. I'm guessing he asked the hostess and she lied and told him that. I made the reservation online 2 days earlier. We head back to our cars again when he opens the door for his parting words to Michael of "You married her!" To say that we all were traumatized and our family celebration ruined is an understatement. I still can't believe an owner would act like that. read more
