Food is good, decent french fries (golden and cooked all the way through) The Gyro meat is good quality. You will know the difference if you go to Shomars and then here. Big Bite'z is much better than Shomars. When I'm in the area and it's time to eat, this is the "semi" fast food choice. The lady behind the counter is all business, seems to run a tight ship. Super nice folks and this little restaurant attached to a gas station get busy! Great food, plenty of seating and clean interior. I've heard so much about their BLTs that I had to try for myself. They live up to the hype. Tomatoes were fresh and delicious, definitely not grocery store tomatoes. Bacon was plentiful and crispy and I love the huge hunk of iceberg lettuce. Simply toasted bread and plenty of mayo round out this perfection. The fries were hot and thin, which I love! Also, perfectly salted. The Baklava I bought for later was ok, but wasn't my favorite rendition of that dish. Wouldn't get that again. After ordering $70+ in food for four people (3 gyros (each one had to come with an order of fries -- clearly to justify their outrageous prices), a gyro salad and a fish sandwich) plus three soft drinks and a water; and, leaving $15 for a tip for no service -- the following happened: The gyro sandwiches were delivered with barely any tzatziki sauce. When we asked for sauce, we were charged an additional $2.88; but, only after the owner stormed from behind the counter and literally dissected one of the sandwiches to show us the "1/2 tsp." of sauce they had put on the sandwich. The Greek owner was rude, disrespectful and completely out of line! I wish I could have demanded my tip back. I have never been so totally disrespected by a restaurant owner for asking for sauce on a sandwich that traditionally comes with sauce. Also, don't try to order two sandwiches with no fries -- that is not allowed. You have to order two, overpriced sandwiches with fries instead. I will never frequent this place again and will be sure to share my experience with anyone who will listen. We have lived here for 25+ years and have never been so insulted at any place of business. The quality of the food was adequate considering the cost; it took over 20 minutes for our food to be delivered because they were focused on filling "to-go" orders and obviously the service/atmosphere was toxic. read more

My mom stopped night and it was 30 dollars for two Friday night special fish and shrimp combo. It's good but not for 30 dollars. She also did get baklava My mom usually stops every for us, and gets the fish plate. Which is very very good. A couple weeks ago I wanted something different she got me the gyro with no onion. kinda late getting out of work and I don't feel like actually making something anyway so I'm having another go at Big Bitez in Mooresville. it's not too far out of my way and I can pick up a lamburger for breakfast while I'm here :-) brightly lit inside, clean and well arranged and there's a guy bringing pumpkins out to the dining room - which is odd because it's only mid-september. anyway I ask for a hotdog combo and a gyro to go and I start writing this while I wait. a few minutes later my food shows up and off I go to dine at home and await the return of the cutest of chicks. fries survived the journey intact and still warm but a little worse for the drive as most sandwich shop fries tend to be after a few minutes in foam packaging which makes me sad. on the plus side they were very recently actual potatoes that deserve their own paper sack. the meat stick isn't quite Scala's preferred but does a good job nonetheless: firm and hot and doggy in a fresh bun under a generous pile of onions, relish, and yellow mustard. hot diggity dog! gyros is Kronos, onions and tomatoes are red, tzatziki sauce is thick and rich and delicious, pita is soft and foldy... add a glass of OJ and we're looking at the best breakfast in a long time.. read more

Really wanted to find a Greek place when I was stuck on I-77 coming home from north of Mooresville and this restaurant came up. I decided to give it a shot since they also had some things my daughter would eat as well. Took me a minute to find it as I was not expecting it to be part of the gas station complex, but it is. Inside you will find a basic layout, nothing too fancy, that is clean and dated. The concept is a simple order, pay and then sit or leave with your food. I walked to the counter while still looking at the menu and the gentleman behind the counter simply asked, "what do you want?" I ordered on thing, ordered for my daughter and then changed my mind on what I wanted. He was annoyed that I asked to change my order. Okay. I showed him the deal they had on Yelp, from their own page, and he told me he didn't know how to do it so it was not given to me. We sat down and our food was done pretty quickly. At this point it became clear this was set up to be a quick serve restaurant that was Greek inspired and not actually Greek food. My pita was cold as was the chicken, the Tzatziki was blank, lacking and clearly from a bulk supply. Lettuce was warm and limp. The fries were hot though. My daughter had simply wanted a hot dog and fries. The hotdog was clearly microwaved and also a bulk, low end quality buy. The bun was most likely wonder bread. Overall, I was let down or just expected something different after having enjoyed my Greek meals in Downtown Charlotte. I would not stop here again given my experience, but based on other reviews it does appear to be hit or miss. I may have just swung and missed on my trip. Great Gyros. Good Greek food. I love the Cornelius location since it is so close to where I live and the food is always great. Have grabbed dinner here a couple of times and it has also been great. They know how to prepare lamb which is an art unto itself because it's too easy to overcook. Great job. I've eaten at both Cornelius and Mooresville and were both great. I used to live up the road from here ages ago, and I can't even remember what used to be at this location. An old friend brought me to this spot when I was out visiting and it was a great suggestion. A massive pita and fries was EXACTLY what I needed. Good prices, really good pita and fries. Both were really fresh and texturally on point. Even on a short car ride home, takeaway styrofoam containers tend to make food like this soggy and gnarly by the time you get home to eat it. Food was great, but the customer service was terrible by the owner's wife. I ordered online. My bill was over $100. The website offered extra sauces to be chosen at no additional cost, and add ons or substitues for sides at an additional cost. I ordered about 7 meals, majority with extra ranch and 2 extra okra for an additional charge. The website took the order, took my credit card payment. When I got to the store for pick up, the owners wife said my order was messed up- I couldn't get my extra okra or extra sides (that were charged website prices or free on website) because those frees or extras were wrong! She pointed to the menu board and said look, your entrees don't come with sauces like ranch or with substitute add ons for extra $1. She said if I wanted what the receipt had printed as my order I would have to pay extra. She even wrote the extra amount she wanted me to pay on my receipt that was printed. I said no, if you're not going to honor what your website advertised, I'm not paying extra. Just keep the ranches and okra. So . . . she did! Such terrible customer service. If you're going to take online orders, honor the prices! If you know your online prices are wrong, fix them! Don't blame the customer or make the customer feel like it's their fault. It's your website, own it. If it's wrong, fix it. Your actions of how you treated me today by refusing to honor what was printed on the website and on the receipt is terrible. I will do my best to never come to your restaurant again. There are way to many other options to choose from where the owners make me feel welcome and stand behind their advertised prices and orders. read more

Super friendly owner Eleni greeted us when we came up to the counter. We ordered 2 gyro platters and kids meals and everything was great, the gyro looked small at first but when i unwrapped it i was surprised. I tried to take a bite but it was HUGE! That's why they're called Big Bitez lol.. I ate it most of the inside with my fork until i could bite into it. It came with greek salad and seasoned fries yumm Everything was delicious! We have tried this place an bunch of times and we truly love the food.... the problem is they nickel and dime you for everything.... you want pitas with your salad extra .... the size of the salads has also decreased in size too. So paying extra for everything , getting an attitude from the owners and that they have increased the prices this week and haven't updated their website. I have finally had enough and won't go back. Excellent authentic Greek place with an unassuming name in a very unassuming location. Great gyros meat from souvlaki to chicken. Because I enjoy their gyros so much I haven't tried anything else on the menu! Frankly the consistency is perfect as well, I've been a dozen times and the food and flavors are always good and the same as prior visits. I love this place! I don't eat meat but they have a great veggie pita, really good Greek salads, and their fries and onion rings are dope. The fries are the skinny type of fries and they have hands down the best ranch dressing a southerner could want. Tip: the small fry to go is actually a LOT of fries. Onion rings are battered and crispy, not the gross puffy frozen things you find at some other places. Tzatziki sauce on point.
