Very surprised to find this hidden Latin spot while visiting the Poconos. Food was surprisingly very, very good. We had the steak quesadillas which were nice and stuffed and super tasty outer tortilla crisped to perfection and packed with cheese. Also tried the steak tacos, plátanos and rice and beans all delish! And the salsa verde was a hit. Unfortunately the service was not great and we waited 5 minutes at the door as two employees walked back and forth by us and didn't even acknowledge or greet us. Would have gotten 4 stars at least but that was not appreciated at all. Also it's next to a very sketchy motel so prob wouldn't go here at night. The best place to eat in the poconos.. I read all the reviews before paying this place a visit. Well i must say the reviews were dead on ..received a very warm welcome upon entering , quick service, the food was fresh, hot and full of flavor . I requested some adjustments to my order which was granted with no problem and it was correct. My fam and I decided to have a mini getaway weekend and head out to the Poconos for some fun out in the sun, later on at night we were debating as to what to have for dinner, we latinos so we were looking to get a sofrito/goya fix when we came across Mi casa Restaurant. As we arrived place was pack so being the New Yorker I really didnt feel like waiting half an hr to get a table however the fam was tired and we were already there so we decided to wait, they have a pool table on the back so we played a couple of games with a couple of cold ones to open up the appetite. We had a bunch of dishes and they were all made to perfection, the staff was extremely nice and so was the owner, we got to chop it up with him for a bit and he was a cool guy, both the food and service would drive me to go there when in the Poconos. read more

How glad to have been pointed to this place! [Marita's Cantina on Main Street in DT Stroudsburg was my "authentic" Mexican place to eat. I guess because they heaped us with chips and salsa and salsa verde, each time we went. But the margaritas were as awful as yuck. I didn't realize people make margaritas with fake/unnatural/colored ingredients. Thought when they say, "Strawberry margarita," it's gonna be strawberries, not artificial liquidy-flavored strawberry syrup...who does that? Maritas Cantina, Yuck!] Anyway, by to Mi Casa, I'll go back as long as I can. Each tome I've been, the food test as earthy as I like it. The drinks were for real. The service was super friendly! Great food. Delicious soup and tamales, as well as fried chicken. Terrific customer service. I had some sunburn and noticed that they had aloe plants around the restaurant. When I asked if I could purchase a few leaves they were skeptical, yet happy to oblige such a strange request. Would highly recommend. Well, I wanted to like this place but overall it was just ehh. The location is amazing! A weird hotel with questionable guests so I was really hopeful it was amazing. Sadly, it was just barely edible. Chips were pre bought bulk boring and bland chips. Salsa was okay but served in containers that you can't get the chip in. Taco meat was all over cooked. Both chicken and steak. The chicken fajitas were very dry though had decent flavor. Enchiladas were fine. All in all it was just ehh. Best Mexican/Latino food in the Poconos. The food is solid. Fresh, good quality ingredients, authentic taste and presentation. Very good guacamole, quesadillas, burritos, soup. EVERYTHING was awesome!!! This place is what makes yelp awesome. In a million years you would never find or think to visit this place. Tucked behind a shady motel off the beat and path. I am telling you even after reading the reviews and driving to the place, I almost thought lets not go into this place. Thank the good yelp lord i did!! My husbands cousin found this place when we were in Tobyhanna PA this past week and it was amazing. You will be a bit leery about the area (next to a motel) but the food was excellent, place was clean and service was superb. Price was reasonable. Will recommend and return as well when in the neighborhood. read more

Fine Colombian/Mexican food. It's family owned and they are very friendly. My favorite is their shrimp burrito.

Authentic Spanish food is not easy to find in the Poconos but I am glad I was told about this place by a coworker. You are greeted with a smile and staff provided great service. The menu has a good variety. I like to order out of my confort zone when I'm in a new place so I ordered a dish that had steak, sausage, pork rind, sweet plaintain, rice beans, a fried egg, and avocado. Everything was delicious! I enjoyed myself and plan to visit again. I have been disappointed by so called Spanish restaurants in the past but this place is one you will not regret visiting. read more

Wow! This place is a hidden jem in the Poconos. Yes next to a motel but don't let that fool you. Pork Pernil was outstanding, enchiladas second to none, guacamole dip was super and both the red and green sauces were delicious. Doesn't look like much when you pull up. As it is near a motel that is sketchy. However, it is the perfect hole in the wall joint. Food is amazing huge portions. I have now been there three times and each time I have left stuffed to the max. Great service certain nights they have salsa dancing. This is a hidden gem. Meh. I'm of two minds about this place. The food is ok, good even, but the service and reliability are not ok. Not at all ok. There have been a few times when I've shown up during their posted business hours and they are just not there. No sign, no explanations. Nothing. Several items on the menu aren't actually there...I sat at the bar once and waited for over 5 minutes and was never even asked what I wanted to drink, eat , anything. All of that in mind, the food is ok and is probably one of the better places to eat in Mount Pocono...the service has just ticked me off one time too many for me to feel happy about the place. read more

It is hidden behind a motel! But do not be deterred; the food and service are very good! Small main room; just a few tables and chairs and lots of South American decor, not just Mexican. We had beef empanadas that were perfectly done. For the main course chicken, rice and beans with plaintains and they were delish. The best part was the service; the waitress was attentive and the food came out quickly. We saw that after 10pm, it turns into a dance club. Was there on 8/31/15 for Monday 1/2 price Fajaties. They had a nice crowd and the food was great as always. Nice ample portion of food with corn or flour tortillas, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa. The owners are from Ecuador, this is South American food. While very similar to Mexican food there are some differences in the spices and taste. read more

It may look small but hands down one of the best Spanish cuisine restaurants I have visited in a very long time. When I say authentic... I mean authentic food, authentic drinks, and authentic themed (style and design). I went in with a group of 8 and we were seated and waited on fairly quick. We ordered our food and the waitress was very polite and on point; she got all our plates correctly and brought out quickly too. The food was amazing! I've been to many places and ordered my simple dish of tacos and been disappointed but this place was hands down my favorite and will be for a while. Everyone else got different dishes that stretched from appetizers to full dishes of meat and/or fish. It was very fulling and we all left satisfied. Finally!! It took 3 years but I finally convinced the wife to check this place out. It's a tad sketch outside but the food is very good in the inside. Definitely very good Mexican for the poconos.
