This restaurant does not belong in a town like Aspen or anywhere. The experience that we had on 12/29/23 is so horrible no one should have to experience something like this. We were treated like second class citizens because we were young and female. When we checked in for our table, we were told we had to "be out in 45 minutes," despite having made a reservation months in advance. We were first informed of this by the waitress, and underscored by the manager, Dave. Why? Well the first reason was that the reservation was for 5 and only 3 people were there, so they could have "made more money" if there were 5 people. Moreover, we were informed that we could not purchase a pitcher of margaritas because we couldn't finish it in time to be OUT OF THE TABLE in 45 minutes. When we asked to speak to the manager, he defended the waitress" treatment, and worse, inappropriately rubbed our shoulder and said "we look like the kind of girls that like tequila, so perhaps a free shot would make up for the treatment". This behavior is inappropriate, disgusting and demeaning. Both the waitress and the manager should be terminated and the owners should understand that reputation DOES matter. And all guests should be welcomed and not viewed as a failed revenue sources. And that there are consequences for inappropriately touching female guests and for demeaning women overall. I would never go back to this place no matter how many "free shots" they offer and no one should go to this place or find this behaviour acceptable. read more

Food and service were both awesome! I made reservations, but we were sat down right away, drink order taken, and all done with a friendly attitude. The food was awesome too. Not in photos below were the chips and house salsa and order of shrimp ceviche. Thankfully we practiced more restrain on the entrees and desert. The food was well season, flavorful, and texture was spot on. I particularly liked the drunken mussels, that came with French baguette. This was needed, because there was plenty of delicious broth to soak into the bread and enjoy. To finish the meal, we order the pineapple coconut flan. I really enjoy Spanish flan as it's light and not too sweet. This was an interesting take and definitely in the right way; the pineapple was juicy and toasted coconut went well with the caramel and custard. Overall great dining experience. This is also a more affordable option and definitely recommend after a tiring day on the slopes. read more

I ordered a taco salad made vegan/plant-based for takeout and it took a while for the person on the phone to understand what that meant (I mentioned vegan and then she asked me if I wanted to add any meat to it). But the salad was bigger and tastier than I expected, and they added chips and salsa to the order without my asking for it. Enchiladas ( 1 beef short rib and 1 chicken) They were cheesy and good but I didn't like the meat :/ short rib didn't have much flavor & chicken was just chunks of dark meat I think. 2. Staff- rude, when our server found out we were only there for snacks and drinks since we already had dinner, she immediately turned her nose up at us. Food- I think this restaurant is extremely lazy. We got the Coconut and pineapple Flan because it sounded interesting. In reality, it's a flan topped with desiccated coconut and pineapple chunks. Just name it what is it. Flan, topped with pineapple and coconut. We also got the Nachos which were awful and plain lazy. It was like the whole thing had been dumped together and thrown in the microwave. Disappointingly, the queso wasnt the gooey, thick melted cheesy goodness. It was just cheddar that had been melted on top of the nachos. It would've been better if they had the creamy queso, jalapeños, Pico de gallo, guacamole etc in separate dishes so you cna build up your own Nachos. Don't be lazy and dump everything on top. Drinks- I was shocked that they didn't have Pina colada on their menu and even refused to make one when I requested it. Its such a basic drink. Why do restaurants have to try to be special with their own cocktails. I wouldve happily ordered several Pina Coladas but instead ordered one awful cocktail they offered on their menu. So this was my first time going to a restaurant in Aspen. I'm not from Colorado originally however, this Mexican joint was pretty good. I first walked in and was blown away on how pretty the decorations made the place pop along with their atmosphere. I ordered the Chicken Chimichanga and it was good. I was not to thrilled on customer service. Our waiter dropped my coworker's straw for her to go cup and he literally told her to use her old one?? I was so confused, like if you drop something that's clean then why not get another one instead of encouraging to use the dirty one?? That's the only thing that threw me for a loop. Foods pretty good here.. We found some good options for vegetarian items. It was probably a bad day for the restaurant, we ended up waiting 25 mins to get a table and then another 20 min to draw attention of server at the table. But from there, it was all perfectly fine. After an amazing trip to Aspen we were so excited to try mi chola. Started off with great chips and salsa. That was the last thing we order that tasted good. Ordered guacamole and jalapeño poppers. My ski group came here for happy hour during our week in Aspen. This is a fair sized place, atmosohere more lounge than restaurant, with high ceilings and tall windows, elaborately decorated - gold and silver sculls stringing on a partition between the bar and the dining room. Locals may not consider it authenticly Mexican, however it was a perfect venue for group functions, as attested by the presence of a couple of other ski groups around us. The various apps we had - spring rolls, wings - were quite adequate, and staff accommodating to our request for keeping all individual bar tabs separate at time of ordering. read more

I didn't go here to get anything to eat but I did you get a pitcher of their classic margarita. It hit the spot for my craving for margaritas but it seems like the pitcher was never ending which was a good and bad thing LOL. I really enjoyed it and the chips and salsa were very good they also definitely had a spice do it. Loved this restaurant! Good vibe, attentive service and great food! 10/10 recommended the prickly pear margarita!! I wasn't too hungry so I got the taquitos for my meal, so flavorful and great textures! My friend got salmon tacos, they can't handle spicy stuff so they got the habanero sauce on the side, I love it, but it definitely had some heat! Delicious food and very friendly service. I could tell all the workers were very passionate about serving their guests. It's a dang shame that the local government shut down all indoor dining, especially when it's 0 degrees in January. But thankfully myself and other patrons braved the cold and supported this tasty restaurant. One of the best Mexican meals I've had in a very long time. Cool, relaxed atmosphere. Service was incredibly friendly, especially appreciated when dining with a 2 year old. The patio scene was great, well spaced out, not overcrowded. The food was so fresh and vibrant. The menu is creative yet all the standards are present. I thought that frozen burrito was amazing. It was kind of cool in there, they sat us, there's chips and salsa for $4 a pop.

We went here with a group of 4. The ambiance is awesome, love the space. Our service was great. Good drink options too. The chips and salsa were good. The rest of the food was meh at best. My hubs got the Colorado burrito and I think the rest of us got combo plates.Truthfully, no Mexican place wows me with refried beans and Spanish rice. The burrito was good, not great. I got the taco al pastor and a cheese enchilada. Both were just ok. There was just nothing that set the food to the above and beyond level for us. Not sure how many Mexican joints there are in Aspen, but i'm betting few which would explain why so many seem to like it here. Perhaps we just managed to order all the wrong things. Okay so honestly, I would not recommend anyone going here. The customer service was slow because they were overwhelmed with people. The food was very pricey - of course all the food in Aspen is honestly overpriced - but the quality of the food was not anywhere near the cost. We each ordered tacos. I did appreciate that this restaurant had some vegetarian options which was nice. I got the fried avocado taco and my husband got the beef. The tacos looked very sad and when we ate them, they were soggy. We didnt want to waste time to have them re-make them since the service was so slow so we didn't complain and just ate it. Also, if you are coming from Austin I just dont think you should order tacos in Aspen because your taco standards will be far above what you end up getting. Aspen local told me about this place, so had to try. Really really good. Must try if in Aspen. Atmosphere: upscale casual. Bit trendy, but very welcoming and comfortable. Nice art, creative stuff all over; not artsy type decor, but creative and tasteful. Busy place. We lucked out getting table without wait, but looked like short wait most of the time. Large bright entrance, so can't really tell there is a line. Large comfortable bar near entrance. Service: basically tag team, with owner doing the work of 3 servers. He is gregarious, friendly, accommodating, and very knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu. Clearly proud of his concept and executes well. All trained and execute well. Beverages: very creative. Good. Not the super sweet craft trendy cocktails, but creative tasty cocktails. None particularly sweet. Try the beet juice one. Best of several we tried. Food: amazing. Chips and salsa brought to table quickly. Chips warm, thin, fresh, tasty. Salsa amazing. Flavorful, good spice, just really good. Wife does not like spicy, I love spicy. Both of us were happy, probably due to flavor. Ordered the esquites and carne asada to share. Esquites served warm. Basically delicious roasted corn cut off cob, and seasoned perfectly. After being in Aspen for a couple of months, this is easily the worst place to go. It's hard to have a bad meal in Aspen, but here we are. They are rude and only focus on tourist that will spend more on drinks than anything else. The two girls at the front along with the older man could not be less helpful and neglecting.
