While the food was good-and service , I got food poisoning here. Very clearly from here as it was the only thing I ate prior.

The restaurant was decorated for the Fourth of July, creating a festive atmosphere, and everything from the décor to the aromas felt genuine and welcoming. The staff was attentive, personable, and made the experience even better. I ordered a chicken and steak burrito with rice, beans, and cheese, and it was outstanding. The shredded chicken in mole sauce was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, while the steak was cooked perfectly and complemented the burrito beautifully. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I'll definitely be coming back!

My only gripe is that the prices continue to rise and the chips and salsa are only free for the first basket, which really takes away the appeal of a local family style Mexican restaurant. My fav burrito is now $20, and while the burrito itself is large, it's a high price to pay for just a burrito with no sides. I think if the chips and salsa were still unlimited the increase in food prices wouldn't be such a hit as well. Their drinks are always great I just wish they had happy hour since the prices really are up there with other new and modern restaurants with no fun deals or unlimited chips and salsa like many other family style places. Their servers are kind and attentive and there's not a crazy amount of tables so there tends to be a wait no matter the time of day. Also parking can be hard to find as it's basically located inside a neighborhood.

It's a nice spot with a good vibe, but the experience didn't fully live up to expectations. The biggest letdown was the happy hour drinks. The mixed cocktails tasted pretty watered down, which was disappointing, especially when you're expecting bold flavors at a mezcal-focused spot. Not a terrible experience, but there's definitely room for improvement, especially on the drink side.

The nopalito salad was good, but on the smaller side. Maybe good for 1-2 people. All the food was good! Shared the "taste of Oaxaca" plate with a friend, which was good but maybe not the best thing to share since you had to slice up the protein, etc. Lots of mezcal cocktails - I ordered the Chido Wey and really enjoyed it. Did not like the Al Chile! as much. Very sweet and not much spice. The service was a little slow sometimes. He came by to ask about dessert and we said we needed a few minutes and then he never came back. We ended up having to get up to ask for our check. There is limited street parking. You park at this coin laundry place down the street around the corner on Motor Ave. after 4pm. There is a person monitoring the parking. You bring your receipt as proof.

Limited outdoor seating by the streets, but definitely fits the vibes for a "Taco Tuesday". Tacos on Tuesday are $5 which are still quite pricey. FOOD Tried their surf and turf burrito which is way too pricey for $17 + $4 including rice, beans, pico de gallo, lettuce, jack cheese, pickled onion, and a side of chips. Add guacamole for an additional $3. The carne asada was tender and not dry and it was packed with rice and onions, but the shrimp was not fresh. I did enjoy their hot sauces. SERVICE Friendly service and quick to order. Wait time dependent on the line, but usually around 10-15 minutes. Self serve water and utensils. We arrived at a peak rush-hour time. Plenty of parking, and, while the line looked quite intimidating, the wait was not nearly as bad as it looked. Really fast service and friendly staff members. Note that there's not a lot of seating, so be prepared to potentially eat in your car or take the food to-go. I ordered a Tito's taco, an enchilada, a cup of guacamole to accompany the chips and salsa with my order, and a piña agua fresca. The taco was delicious. It could have been stuffed just a bit more, but it absolutely hit the spot. The enchilada was not nearly as good as the taco, unfortunately. Texture was very tough and dense, and the flavors were not quite there. The piña agua, however, was absolutely fantastic. Tasted exactly like a fresh pineapple with a perfect level of sweetness. The chips and salsa were my favorite part of the meal, though. The salsa was superb, the guac tasted great (very much a creamy, less viscous texture), and the chips were perfectly fried and obviously fresh. Personally, I thought the prices were fair for what we received. Way higher than a taco stand where the quality would be better, equal or slightly less than a taqueria, but way lower than one of the boutique taco shops around the area, especially given the fact that the chips and salsa come with each meal.

The tacos remain the best beef hard shell and the salsa is the best in the world. However, it is an absolute tragedy and should be illegal that it's $6.15 for one taco with cheese and $14.70 for a beef cheese burrito. It is also a tragedy that the burrito is kids size that my 2 year old can eat on their own. These used to be my favorite and huge, but I can no longer order them. This place used to be a family favorite but I can no longer order extras like we used to. They closed off the inside which was convenient to order, I think just to make the outside look busy. I'm not a fan of these new changes to my favorite taco place in LA.
