    Carne asada tacos
    D'juan C.

Man, this food is fire from the homemade tortillas to the soft and tender Carne Asada to the amazing red sauce and green sauce. This place is great very very good service from some cute young lady who is really nice hard-working guys behind the kitchen. This place is amazing if you don't stop here one time in your life, then you are missing out.

Always down for some tacos after a late night and this was the closest spot I could find after a holiday party at our friend's house. Parking might be tough in the area though so we actually parked at the Shell and walked over to the truck. Tacos were absolutely delicious. We ended up getting 6 tacos for the two of us to share: Al Pastor, Buche, Lengua, Cabeza, Tripas. EVERYTHING WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Sauces. Pickled onions with the habaneros weren't too spicy which was nice but I'm definitely feeling it today in the bathroom but it was WORTH it. Service was pretty quick and it was just a solid experience overall. I'd come back here anytime.

Delicious taco stand on the west side that has good service, a fresh salsa bar, and a good variety of meats and items. I feel like this place has been at this location for years. It's always a dependable option for delicious tacos on the westside with a pretty chill setting. Most recent visit I got two al pastor tacos and a carne asada taco with queso. After loading up at the fresh salsa bar, I went to town. Just as good as I remembered. I have a few places on my rotation in the area and this is definitely on that list

Tacos Tamix has gotta be one of my favorite taco spots great quality meats and not the biggest lines. The service is always great and fast. They offer a wide variety of things such as the papa asada, tortas, burritos, alambres, and quesadillas. On this day we decided to go for the classics just some tacos I got 4 tacos de cabeza and my girl got 3 de al pastor and we shared a large horchata. The food was incredible we decided to eat there. This location has about 4 tables set up Incase you decide to eat there you don't have to eat from the trunk of your which is a big plus for me.

I ordered what I think was a game winning combo. I bought 2 tacos al pastor, 2 de pollo and 1 de carne asada. Yum . I took a little bit of everything from the salsa bar to put on my tacos. The green sauces were my faves; the tomatillo was good and I liked how smooth the other green sauces was. Not only was the food good but the young lady who took my order was very nice and the young gentleman who made it did so very quickly. I will definitely be back. It's location on the intersection of Sepulveda and Venice was convenient, and I like that it has late hours. It was pleasant to visit on a cool LA evening and the truck looks neat.

This was our last stop before heading to the airport to go home and it was one of the best meals we had our whole trip. Prices were very reasonable and I loved the sauce bar they had! Service was quick and there were some tables and chairs provided. We got the asada, intestines and the al pastor tacos. The intestines were okay, a bit mushy but flavor was there. The horchata was delicious with just the perfect amount of cinnamon, definitely recommend!

Terrible place to get a bean and cheese burrito. In return, I got a burrito filled with cheese and barely any beans. I asked them to re-do the burrito and the second one they gave me was just as bad as the first one.

Delicious tacos here and a great value at $2 each. I had a Carnitas, Carne Asada, and an Al Pastor taco and they were all great! There is a salsa bar right by the taco truck so you can add more to your tacos if you want. This is a great late night food option after a concert or coming back from a flight from LAX if you are driving north as it's easy on/off from the 405 fwy. The taco truck is parked by a Shell station and has some picnic tables and you can get canned/bottled drinks either from the truck or the Shell c-store.

3 Carne asada tacos. $2 each
    Jasmine S.

Their carne asada tacos were incredible. I practically inhaled them. They're $2 each and I'd suggest ordering 3 or 4. The horchata was also pretty good. Line wasn't too long and service was quick. It's in a shadier part of town so be aware of your surroundings. They also have 2 little tables by the truck where you can sit down and eat. Would definitely recommend.

Solid taco truck, salsa is flavorful and packs heat, decent price to portion and price to taste ratios. Food comes out pretty quickly.

We arrived at a peak rush-hour time. Plenty of parking, and, while the line looked quite intimidating, the wait was not nearly as bad as it looked. Really fast service and friendly staff members. Note that there's not a lot of seating, so be prepared to potentially eat in your car or take the food to-go. I ordered a Tito's taco, an enchilada, a cup of guacamole to accompany the chips and salsa with my order, and a piña agua fresca. The taco was delicious. It could have been stuffed just a bit more, but it absolutely hit the spot. The enchilada was not nearly as good as the taco, unfortunately. Texture was very tough and dense, and the flavors were not quite there. The piña agua, however, was absolutely fantastic. Tasted exactly like a fresh pineapple with a perfect level of sweetness. The chips and salsa were my favorite part of the meal, though. The salsa was superb, the guac tasted great (very much a creamy, less viscous texture), and the chips were perfectly fried and obviously fresh. Personally, I thought the prices were fair for what we received. Way higher than a taco stand where the quality would be better, equal or slightly less than a taqueria, but way lower than one of the boutique taco shops around the area, especially given the fact that the chips and salsa come with each meal.

The tacos remain the best beef hard shell and the salsa is the best in the world. However, it is an absolute tragedy and should be illegal that it's $6.15 for one taco with cheese and $14.70 for a beef cheese burrito. It is also a tragedy that the burrito is kids size that my 2 year old can eat on their own. These used to be my favorite and huge, but I can no longer order them. This place used to be a family favorite but I can no longer order extras like we used to. They closed off the inside which was convenient to order, I think just to make the outside look busy. I'm not a fan of these new changes to my favorite taco place in LA.

We loved the old-school vibe immediately. We arrived around 4:45 and waited only 5-10 minutes. Then we saw the fresh tortillas being made and thought, "This could be good!" The atmosphere was relaxed, with full table service and great chips and salsa. We ordered a plate of fajitas to share and a shredded beef taco. Funny enough, I thought I was ordering a taco platter, but one lonely taco arrived on a bed of shredduce. Thankfully, it was excellent. A good shredded beef taco is surprisingly hard to find, and this was my favorite part of the meal. Overall, the food, service and atmosphere were all great. I'll definitely return. I had ingested several bites of it, (with hot sauce), but I couldn't take another bite. The meat was chemically contaminated & I got sick not long after for the whole night. It was important for me to tell the person that runs the stand. I had the best of intentions to help this business and wanted nothing in return. I walked up to the stand & asked the woman who takes the cash, (with the sharp eyebrows), if I could please speak to the person in charge, (or owner). At first she ignored me & then said, "I don't understand - no speak English." I asked who speaks English and she sent me to the back of the line by the cooks. I stood there for another 10 minutes and no one wanted to talk to me or answer my question. I told them that there was a big problem with their meat the night before & had brought back the entire meal, so they could try the meat. No one did anything except talk to each other in Spanish, (which I understood). The cook graciously offered me a replacement meal & tried to problem solve. The tall man, who spoke English, (as shown next to cashier Karen in the photo), was going to give me a replacement meal. I waited 15-20 minutes. I asked for the chicken quesadilla, and the vitriol that came out of cashier Karen, who said she didn't speak English was unbelievable. She refused to give me any food and said I had to pay $6 for the replacement taco. I tried to tell her that it was a replacement and she kept yelling aggressively at me and said, "no - you pay $6. You're not getting anything " and that I, "never bought any taco." She became angry and verbally abusive because I was getting a replacement meal, as a solution to my getting chemically poisoned. She was a bully and aggressively yelling at me to humiliate me in front of the other customers & personnel. By this time she had no problem speaking English. (A group of young ladies started talking to me, felt bad that I was the focus of cashier Karen's rudeness. They complimented me & wished me a good night.) The guy next to cashier Karen handed me the bag with the quesadilla. I asked cashier Karen for her name and she ignored me. Then I asked the guy next to her what her name was and he put his hands together like duck lips and rudely opened and closed his hand at me, (meaning that I'm talking to much) This was extremely inappropriate & as soon as I left, I threw the food out, because I didn't trust or hold it past any of them to have put something nasty in my food. By the way, there was never a possibility that I would be refunded. By this time I was so upset, I was sorry that I had generously tipped them the night before. Even cashier Karen's response to the tip had been of surprise; but then I remembered she had not even acknowledged it or said thank you, after receiving it. What this staff does not, is that I owned and operated a successful fine dining restaurant & wedding venue for 17 years. I have done consulting for small restaurant businesses, pro bono, in order for the businesses to financially thrive. I know how food is cooked, how it should be stored, when the oil needs to be changed, marketing, accounting, et al., as well as the health dept's requirements, in order to keep the public healthy and well. What I believe happened to the meat and reason I took my food back to the taco stand; is because they had been out of chicken. Since there was a meat shortage, more carne asada needed to be barbecued quickly. An abundance of lighter fluid was used to quicken the process & it possibly got on the grill, where the meat is placed; and the cooking process started well before the coals were ready. It shouldn't matter whether you go to a restaurant, food truck or taco stand, customers should be treated with respect, kindness & consideration - and it's called customer service. A customer shouldn't be lied to, yelled at, insulted and humiliated by any employee of the business. It should be run in a transparent and professional manner. I'm 64 yrs young & have never written one negative comment or review about any restaurant. Nor have I ever been treated with such disrespect, malice and ill intent. I felt it important to tell my story because nobody should experience what I did; in eating compromised food and then being made to feel like I did something bad. This is what bullies do and I've never had a problem in clarifying right from wrong, as well as responsibility and accountability. I didn't have a choice and had to give a star.

It was fresh, incredibly flavorful, and beautifully presented. The watermelon aguachile was equally impressive, with bright, refreshing flavors that were perfect for a warm afternoon. Prices are what you'd expect for a rooftop hotel restaurant, but the quality and execution make it money well spent. The setting is what really makes Butterfly special. The covered outdoor dining area sits next to the rooftop pool, creating a true resort atmosphere. Once you're up on the sixth floor, it's easy to forget you're in the middle of Culver City. You can disappear from the city below for a few hours and just enjoy the atmosphere. On Sunday morning, after my daughter's wedding, our family gathered there for breakfast before everyone headed home. I had the open-faced omelet with wild mushrooms, poblano peppers, Monterey Jack, salsa macha, queso fresco, avocado, and micro cilantro. It was outstanding. I also sampled my daughter's pancakes and ordered a side of the smashed fingerling potatoes, both of which were excellent. The only hiccup came when the server accidentally dumped my side of breakfast potatoes into my brother-in-law's lap after the chrome fry basket tipped off the tray. He had already eaten elsewhere and had just sat down to visit with us, so it was an unfortunate way to say hello. The staff immediately apologized and brought out another order of potatoes, which was appreciated. The cabana was a nice touch we rented it for two hours from 6p to 8p I don't think I could recommend this timeframe because it got too cold (on one of the hottest days of July) and we couldn't fully enjoy ourselves, had to get out of the murky water earlier than expected. It is a cute spot and has so much potential. Maybe it was good at one point and went downhill or someone just stopped caring.
