I just quickly stopped Tacos El Junior before a hair appointment down the street and it was the perfect last minute find I was starving so ordered 3 tacos (Al pastor, carne asada and carnitas) and they were delicious! Traditional small street tacos and they came with a side of chips, salsa and some pickled vegetables Their menu has a pretty robust selection and some meat options, like buche, I don't always see offered by trucks I highly recommend these guys! The food was excellent and much more affordable than other trucks in the area. Thanks for a great meal team! I'll be back! read more

I don't EVER really leave reviews but this Man's food is so GOOD I HAD to! I'm a LA Native so good tasting authentic tacos are SO IMPORTANT to Me. 4 Asada Tacos with Cheese & a drink was $12. SO Affordable with the amount of food He gives You! But the effort He puts in the plating & packaging is AMAZING! I never have to ask for ANYTHING EVER! The extra sides & chips with no extra charge is God's work! AND Giving Me 2 types of Salsas to choose from?!? Like cmon not a lot of places do that & it's so appreciated & recognized. ALSO I don't ever really eat the pickled veggies BUT This Man has converted Me...LOL! SO YUMMY! The Owner is also SO Welcoming & Super Nice & Me being a Black Woman in Today's times, that means A LOT! His food has SOOOOO much flavor too! I hope & Pray His lines go around the corner one day. Hands down, this is my new favorite taco truck in LA--yes, even beating out Leo's Taco Truck! I came here with my girlfriend and two friends visiting from out of town, and we were all blown away by how delicious everything was. I ordered the Suadero torta, while the rest of the group tried various tacos. Every bite was amazing--the meats were perfectly cooked, incredibly juicy, and bursting with flavor. They were super generous with the sides too, giving us plenty of chips along with delicious pickled carrots, onions, and jalapeños (the classic Mexican sides we all love). Everyone in our group kept commenting on how flavorful everything was and how happy they were that I chose this spot. We left completely satisfied and impressed. I highly recommend this taco truck; it's definitely worth the visit! read more

Stopped here for a quick lunch. Got one asada taco, an al pastor taco, and a buche taco. The food took a little longer than expected, but I noticed that it was only one guy manning the truck all by himself, so I didn't mind the wait. There is seating set up nearby if you aren't taking your food to go. Tacos came with a chile Serrano, plenty of pickles (the carrot coins were delicious), radish, cucumber, and even some tortilla chips. As for the tacos themselves: the asada was phenomenal! So tender and flavorful, no gristly pieces. Next time I will for sure be getting an asada burrito. The pastor was solid, as was the buche. But the asada was definitely the star! I didn't see carnitas on the menu, which is what I usually order. Washed it all down with my Jarritos and left with a happy, full stomach. Would stop here again for asada and good vibes. read more

4++ a small little truck/trailer that sets up in the heart of Mar Vista. Call a pretty extensive menu and a good variety of meats. There's also a few outdoor tables set up nearby so you can sit and eat. The food here is really good and the folks that you are ordering from our super nice and very helpful. I ordered a suadero mulita, birria tacos, and a vampiro. I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach, and I was pretty excited which led me to order probably too much food. When I finally got the plate, I was super excited. The presentation was great with all the extras like the pickled carrots and peppers along with the limes, etc. I always have a habit of ordering a Mexican Coke whenever I go to taco trucks as well. I seriously don't really drink soda except for the times I get tacos. I probably was only able to eat a third of it before I needed some wrap to take it to go. Part of the reason I chose this place because I was walking a dog and I wanted something where I can order easily and sit outside. This place was perfect. They have upgraded from a stand to a truck! Still very good. No longer my favourite Al pastor spot anymore, but all the other meat is very good! The birria , pollo, and tripa are some of my favourites, and my nonni love the cabeza. Good selection of meats , and the tacos with queso are really good and very reasonable, 25 cents charge per taco for cheese. For vegetarians, you can ask for a quesidilla with some bell pepper or jalapeno inside, it's a good meal with the salsa! Birria with cheese is favorite too. Mulitas with carne asada are great. Super burrito is a great deal at $11 + tip, it's enough to fill you up if you're really hungry or enough for 2 meals if you don't eat as much. All the meat is cooked to order, so naturally sometimes there's a little wait on slow nights when they're not churning out tacos, but it's worth it for the hot, fresh food. Perfect for tourists looking for an authentic LA experience or locals looking for their next favourite spot. read more

So good we can back two days later to have it again!!! LA has a lot of amazing food trucks and street taco vendors, but this one may just be the best. They have all the staples and a variety of drinks to choose from, fresh chips and some of the best salsa I have ever had. (I'm a California native, so I've had a lot of good salsa). The service was friendly enough, and they have little tables set up if you want to eat right away, although I highly recommend just driving to the beach for sunset and enjoying your delicious Tacos El Junior meal there. 10/10 we will be back. Yeah I had to download Yelp to write this review because this place was that crazy good. Im from AZ so I know good mexican food and this was pretty top notch. Im pretty used to paying 20-25 for dinner so I went there and completely over ordered. For $20 I got tacos, a quesadilla, and a burrito but each of these comes as a full plate of food so I'm set for the next couple days for only $20 (I would've easily dropped 40-60 on this food at a normal restaurant. Ill definitely be coming back and I can't stress enough that you try this place! read more

We walk to this truck all the time with our dogs! The el pastor burrito is delicious as are the chicken tacos! The veggies they give on the side ate the perfect accompaniment and are spicy and delicious and make me feel good about myself since I'm eating veggies! The guys in the truck are both friendly and kind and give quick service. They like our dogs and always say hi! They have some tables and chairs set up to round out the whole food truck ambiance! I also tried the mulita with al pastor meat and that was also soso good. Cheesy, meaty, and indulgent. The additional topping section had good variety with pickled onions, cucumbers, etc. and everything seemed pretty fresh. Unfortunately, they were pretty much out of the roasted pepper and grilled onions at the time I went. To drink, I had the horchata and that was also very delicious. It was huge, sweet, and creamy. I also loved how it was not grainy at all. A good pairing with the rich foods. They also have a good amount of seating at the stand with a long table and multiple chairs. Parking is tricky since its street parking only.

By the way, there was never a possibility that I would be refunded. By this time I was so upset, I was sorry that I had generously tipped them the night before. Even cashier Karen's response to the tip had been of surprise; but then I remembered she had not even acknowledged it or said thank you, after receiving it. What this staff does not, is that I owned and operated a successful fine dining restaurant & wedding venue for 17 years. I have done consulting for small restaurant businesses, pro bono, in order for the businesses to financially thrive. I know how food is cooked, how it should be stored, when the oil needs to be changed, marketing, accounting, et al., as well as the health dept's requirements, in order to keep the public healthy and well. What I believe happened to the meat and reason I took my food back to the taco stand; is because they had been out of chicken. Since there was a meat shortage, more carne asada needed to be barbecued quickly. An abundance of lighter fluid was used to quicken the process & it possibly got on the grill, where the meat is placed; and the cooking process started well before the coals were ready. It shouldn't matter whether you go to a restaurant, food truck or taco stand, customers should be treated with respect, kindness & consideration - and it's called customer service. A customer shouldn't be lied to, yelled at, insulted and humiliated by any employee of the business. It should be run in a transparent and professional manner. I'm 64 yrs young & have never written one negative comment or review about any restaurant. Nor have I ever been treated with such disrespect, malice and ill intent. I felt it important to tell my story because nobody should experience what I did; in eating compromised food and then being made to feel like I did something bad. This is what bullies do and I've never had a problem in clarifying right from wrong, as well as responsibility and accountability. I didn't have a choice and had to give a star.
