I drive past this truck almost on a daily basis lately but I typically tend to be a bit cautious about eating at food trucks. If you're familiar, finding a good food truck can be such a gamble. Today, I decided to look up Tacos Mar Vista taco truck and was pleasantly surprised by the Yelp ratings. When saw all the raving reviews, I knew I had to finally try it out for myself. Best decision of the day! I stopped during their lunch rush and I ordered 3 asada tacos and grabbed a coconut water for approximately $13 + I left a tip. I waited no more than 7 minutes (with 5 orders ahead of me) and was offered salsa in my to go bag. The food was perfectly and neatly packaged with delicious add ins that consisted of tortilla chips, a lemon, wedge and half a grilled jalapeño. On my asada tacos: a perfect amount of cilantro and onion. The carne asada tasted so fresh, non-greasy, clean flavors, and the tortillas were soft and yummy. Again, no heavy grease or gristle whatsoever. The salsas green and red were both so so delicious! Overall, my experience was a 10/10. Easy access, lots of parking in the CVS parking lot, friendly service, and just an overall awesome experience through and through. I definitely plan to make more frequent stops moving forward! read more

I have really been enjoying taco trucks lately and we have been to this one in Mar Vista several times The food is just great as is the kind service. The truck is so cute and all the menu is there and they have a great selection. You can even get a burger or steak sandwich there. They also have fries and great ice cold drinks. There is a few spots to eat outside, but most just get to go. You can even get a delivery service to grab it for you. They have wonderful combination plates and great salads. We love their tacos and they have a good selection. I always try to grab a mild one or ask them just not to put their hot sauce on it. The service is fast and really nice. If you're looking for a good birrieria taco or any dish that has birrieria in it, Tacos Mar Vista is your spot! Honestly, it's the best taco truck in the area. It's located on Centinela Ave, off of Venice Blvd. They're parked right in front of the CVS and Mitsuwa Marketplace. I usually get the 5 birrieria tacos but there are days when I opt for the 2 dorados tacos or the birrieria fries. When it comes to spice level, it's not fiery hot. For those who can't handle hot peppers, you are safe. I usually add hot sauce or take it home and add my own chili peppers because I was born with a chili pepper in my hand, lol. I love that their truck is easy to spot. The vibrant red color stands out on a sunny day. The lines are long but moves along rather quickly around lunch time. The workers are friendly and the service fast. On lunch hour, it will take 15 minutes to push your order out, but usually takes 5-10 minutes when it's not busy at all. The pricing is affordable. A meal will run you $12-$15, depending what you get. It's well worth the money spent for a delicious and hearty meal that is fresh and made to order. 5/5 stars from me. read more

I've driven by this truck a handful of times, but when I saw birria in bright orange letters, I finally decided to stop and try it out. One complaint- the prices for the tacos aren't actually displayed: birria soft tacos are $2, and dorado is $3. It's pretty reasonable, so it wasn't that big of a deal, but if it were less reasonable, I could see this being a cause for concern. I came for one reason- birria tacos. I specifically wanted to try the tacos dorado to see if they were fried in the glorious consomme oils. If you see the picture, they clearly were. The shells had some oil but were a beautiful shade of red, which got me really excited. I topped the taco with the necessary accompaniments (cilantro, onions, lime and salsa) and took a bite. I looked down at my 2 (well, now less than 2, I took a big bite) tacos with a slight air of disappointment. "Why did I skimp out and only get 2?" Granted it was ~930AM, but I should have gotten at least one more taco. It was so good. The meat was intensely flavored and juicy, held inside the taco perfectly with the crisp fried hard shell.
