Pork tamales and salsa were delicious! Our first visit to the Tuesday Farmer's Market in Roseville

I recently purchased a dozen tamales (6 pollo verde, 6 pollo rojo), plus containers of rice and beans from them at the Lake Merritt Farmer's Market in Oakland on Saturday, April 4th. The tamales were good (pollo verde), but I was REALLY disappointed to find the beans all moldy when I opened the container upon getting home! This really tears me apart because the woman was so nice and warm in her personality, plus she gave me and my son a sample of her guac w/chips. Unfortunately, I had to throw the beans away. I'd give them a lower rating, but the customer service was good and the tamales were solid. I messaged them directly on their social media (Instagram), but they've yet to respond to me by the time I wrote this review. read more

The food is delicious! I got the pork tamales in salsa roja and they had just the right amount of spice and were packed with a fair amount of pork. I'm so glad they were at the Roseville farmer's market. The lady who helped me was also kind, and the atmosphere was friendly. I'd totally buy more! read more

Pick up some chicken tamales from the farmers market, the worst and driest tamales I have ever had! They lacked favor and the chicken had weird taste to them. I purchased a pack of 6 each beef enchiladas and a chicken enchiladas from Kaiser farmers market. $38 for both. The chicken enchiladas are different tasting to me personally... I am pretty certain the chicken meat is from the canned chicken (like tuna). I came here to see if anyone else had comments about this. ZERO stars!!!! Food was terrible. Chips were bought from Costco and presented in a zip lock bag (so tacky) and guacamole was watery and not eatable. Total cost for both was $18. Seriously overpriced! This business is clearly taking advantage of people! read more

I recently bought the Veggie Tamales with the green salsa (which was recommended by the wonderful nice lady working) The tamales were delicious, masa was very good and the vegetables inside were very good not soggy. We saw their booth at the Martinez Farmer's Market Sunday, July 9th. 2023. Of course we were intrigued and the lady offered us a sample of a tamale that was being steamed. It tasted well enough that we purchased a 6pk of them as well as a package of 6 Beef Enchiladas. I'm not sure if it was because they had theirs being steamed but, as others have reviewed on here about their tamales, not only are they dry, the masa versus meat ratio, well, the meat wasn't enveloped in the masa so much as being placed beside or underneath it, then wrapped in corn husk. Very, very dry, and seriously needs either mole or some kind of salsa to help make it palatable. As a kid I never had issue eating a tamale without it being covered in sauce! I truly miss the New Mexican Red Chili tamales made by my grandmother. I wish the lady at their booth had recommended we purchase some kind of sauce for their tamales. Next my complete disappointment after microwaving one of the enchiladas. I'll give them this, it took to being microwaved quite well, and came out very hot! But, once cutting into it is where my dismay took over. It looks like the beef, if there was any was pureed to the point it looks like pulverized refried beans with cheese on top. Really lacking in flavor, hey, just take a look at the pictures! These pics were not photo edited at all. Had the best chile relleno of our lives today from the Calistoga farmers market. Heated it up on the stove over low heat for 20 mins (since heating stuff up in the microwave is yuck) and it was spectacular. We will be back for more! read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The lady who was at the Sebastopol Farmers market wasn't friendly at all. I would ask questions and she was just rude to answer. The tamales weren't fresh they were cold as a rock which means they were in the freezer or fridge prior. I just gave them the benefit of the doubt. Boy was I so wrong for doing that. The tamales have an awful taste, they were so dry, and the meat tasted like it was past the expiration time. For $18 for 6 tamales it's ridiculous! Got tamales at kaiser riverside roseville yesterday. Got 6 pork and 6 pablano pepper and cheese for $32 Ouch, so I thought these would be extra special good. Well there not. The pork ones are tasty but 1/2 the tamale is nothing but masa and the Poblano pepper and cheese have no Poblano or cheese! They mislabeled the bag of tamales all thats in them is corn and some other vegetables so they gave me vegan! Ill start yelping these vendors before I buy. seems to be alot of the same reviews on here. Though wrapped in a husk, what was inside, though it had meat and masa, had no filling. I met this sweet lady at the Calistoga Farmers Market this past Saturday. (Nov 4). We were visiting from Reno. I'm currently devouring the salsa molcajete, guacamole, and the vegan tamales. Absolutely delicious! I grew up in Texas where the TexMex is pretty damn good! This is some of the best salsa I've ever had! The tamales had plenty of veggies and were definitely not dry. I reheated in the microwave covered in a damp paper towel per the instructions. I suppose if you nuke it in the microwave, it could definitely dry out. Either steam to reheat or cover in a damp paper towel. Everything we tried is delicious! Now, I need to find out if I can get it shipped to me. Don't read these other lame reviews. Stopped by the booth at the Marin Farmer's Market and met the friendly lady who gave us salsa samples. We took home the chicken enchiladas with red sauce, rice, refried beans, and multiple kinds of salsa. The salsa molcajete was incredible and we would like to order by the quart! The food was delicious and authentic and made for a great home-cooked family meal. We will definitely be stopping by Mi Fiesta's booths again! read more

I've been picking up items at Kaiser in Roseville/Wednesday Market for years. I was SO THRILLED that all items were not sold out today when arriving after 3PM. We are huge fans of the Chicken Enchiladas, Chile Relleno, and Chipotle Salsa! Dinner tonight, in oven! I will agree with tamales reviews by others, mostly masa. I INSIST on at LEAST a 50/50 ratio, theirs is 80/20. Try the enchiladas, those I can give 2 thumbs up! 4 Star update if the tamales improve! read more

Tried the pork tamale which was served warm with mild salsa (it wasn't mild at all) and a small serving of guacamole and rice on top. My tamale was jam packed with meat but it was rather dry. The masa was also very dense and not soft like other tamales I have had. For $5.00 it's still a decent price for what you get. Maybe the tamales sold in bulk have less meat ? I bought a pack of the chicken enchiladas with red sauce today at the el cerrito plaza farmers market. The chicken enchilada seems to be stuffed with a slightly sour tasting mix of tiny pieces chicken and I wanna say, cheese / cream cheese mix? It tastes almost takes like tuna salad. Clearly this catering company and the family who owns it doesn't care too much about selling low-quality food to unsuspecting shoppers. I'll make sure to warn other shoppers at the farmers market the next time I'm there. You can get way better enchiladas for the same price at a restaurant for take out. You can also make your own at home for less ($15 for 6 small enchiladas) with actual chicken in the enchiladas. Shame on these people. How embarrassing to show your faces again after basically scamming people. I haven't seen anyone raving at all about the food on this thread, that should tell you how bad it is. I wonder if the owner reads these reviews... they all consistently say her tamales are dry and all masa. Well I fell victim today while picking up a prescription at kaiser Morse. St Helena farmers market take out cheese enchiladas, Chile rellenos and chipotle salsa. All very good. Pricey but will order again. The chipotle salsa is the best I've ever had. Looking forward to ordering vegetarian tamales. read more

I walked by their booth at the Kaiser farmers market and couldn't resist stopping. I grabbed some salsa endiablada which is delicious but isn't really worth the 7 dollars for a tiny little container . I also bought some of the cheese and pobalano pepper tamales since they're my favorite but it was 13 dollars for half a dozen ! I went home and warmed a few up and was looking forward to a delicious cheesy tamale . Well... where is the cheese?? I don't think my tamale had any . My tamale was all masa with poblano peppers chopped up and mixed in the masa. I was expecting more of a cheese and pepper stuffed tamale . Oh and corn??? I'm not sure if I was eating more corn or masa. I only had 2 tamales and mind you ate a lot of the corn in what I did eat but this is what was left afterwards. At a Kaiser farmers market this last week I came upon a sweet woman with a big variety of Mexican dishes prepared and packaged to purchase. Ordered the chicken tamales rojas which was $12 for 6. I thought I would give them a chance even if that price was pretty high! Eh. The chicken is shredded and dry, the masa pretty stiff and the salsa is possibly marinated in the chicken and mixed in with the masa.
