The driest plainest chicken taco in my life. They didn't have any limes or guacamole. The sauces they did provide tasted watered down with a hint of fridge taste. The only thing that saved these tacos were the full cup of jalapeños they gave me that helped me swallow this down.

*3rd Stop on Jeff O's 2010 Roosevelt Avenue Food Crawl* A less than stellar taco cart on this stretch of Roosevelt Avenue. Our food crawl inundated the cart, and they never seemed able to recover. It took the longest time to order a carnitas taco ($2) with a Toronja Jarritos ($1). The grapefruit flavored soda was obviously good. The taco was surprisingly bad. The tortillas had an interesting texture, but that did not help much. The meat tasted slightly of flour and was kind of dry. The added ingredients of guacamole sauce, onions, and cilantro really failed to come together. I was debating whether or not I should finish it, but I ultimately stuck it out. For comparison, all of the other taco carts I tried along Roosevelt Avenue were considerably better.

Located on the corner of Gleane St. & Roosevelt Ave. in front of Sovereign Bank, two ladies serve a variety of tacos ($2), tortas ($4), tostadas ($2) and more. For my first visit, I ordered a Taco de Carnitas (roasted pork) ($2), Taco de Bistec (Beef) ($2), and Quesadilla de Bistec ($2). Ordering was a bit hard as they spoke mostly spanish with a few words of English. Since I haven't spoken Spanish for a while, I had some difficulties, but was able to order for the most part. For the tacos, they will serve your choice of meat on two taco shells and ask you if you want the other sides on top, including cilantro, guacamole, and raw diced onions. It took about 5 minutes for my order to be prepped. Located in front of the cart is a variety of sides that you can also add (green sauce, hot sauce, lime wedges, etc.). The food was served sizzling hot, almost too hot to handle. The taco de carnitas was fairly tasty but could have used a bit more seasoning. I also found the carnitas to be slightly on the dry side. The real highlight was the bistec (beef) which I ordered in Taco and Quesadilla fashion. The bistec was tender, juicy and very flavorful. I would have easily ordered 2 or 3 of these. I thought the Quesadilla version was a bit tastier, instead of two soft shell tacos, they serve it open faced on one taco shell with which I believe Oaxaca cheese is also sprinkled on top. Although the ingredients are pretty similar, I found it be so much more juicier and flavorful. If you're taking a stroll down Roosevelt Ave., definitely make a pitstop here. Portions are generous, meats were tasty, and all other vegetable ingredients were very fresh.

3 stars but I am being generous. Hot or cold they are sitting inside. I admire those who have food trucks and food stands. Finding good tacos in NYC is not hard. Finding full menu Mexican restaurants is almost impossible. There are several good ones in Jersey one good one in The Bronx that I gave 5 stars to only for their menu selection but really if it was in LA it would get 3 stars. They are situated in front of bank across the street from other taco restaurants. So they must be doing something right. There is also a group of older Mexican men hanging out. As tacos go it is average. They are in competition with Tacos Al Saudero. http://www.yelp.com/biz/tacos-al-suadero-jackson-heights#query:Taco%20Al%20Suadero which is fantastic!

I've only had the tacos here, but at only $2 a pop, they're delish! I most recommend the bistec, chicken and carnitas - in that order. Considering that I've been waking by this cart almost everyday for about 2 years, it's pretty shocking that I've only eaten from here twice (something that I totally plan on remedying) and today was the first time I checked in because I didn't even realize that this modest taco cart even HAD a Yelp check-in! Totally plan on returning to try the sopes, flautas, quesadillas and if I can muster the courage - the orejas (pig's ear, ACK!) since I hear that they're "melt in your mouth good".

NYC is known for it's cart food and that for every eater, there is a cart that meets their tastes. This was not that cart for me. I got a basic item and was almost completely un-enjoyable. The tortilla was bland and tasteless. The filling was subpar at best. If others find this tasty and edible, I'm happy for them. I'll stick with the cart I enjoy most; on the corner of 82nd and 37th ave.

    Quesadilla. My favorite! -Martin

For a Food Truck it can't get better than this. The tortas and quesadilla with everything are delicious. Great for late night eating and it's inexpensive. Another good thing it's located by Terraza bar.

I'm sad that my favorite taco cart has just up and disappeared! Tacos Guicho where did you go??? This cart has taken over Guicho's old corner. They have a lot of menu items to choose from but they always seem to be out of stock of something. I want to try the flautas but each time I've asked they don't have! One day they didn't even have chicken! Mi Mexico Lindo Tacos cart is a pretty good replacement for Tacos Guicho however they need to keep a better inventory!

This is my go to taco cart. It is always packed. Everything is tasty. Order in Spanish if you can. If not just say con todo and they will load you up. This cart has been here forever. I have friends that have been eating from this cart for over two decades. Good cheap eats.

All their locations have pretty good ratings so I can't really go wrong. Came around 11am on a weekend and it was busy but there were tables available. The tables are arranged pretty strategically to fit as many as possible, which isn't the best for comfort. The service is nice here. The menu is in Spanish but they do have an English menu if you scan a QR code. I ordered the craken taco, costra taco, verde aguachile mixtos, a half dozen grilled shrimps, a la exotica, and guac with fried octopus. Everything was delicious! This place did not disappoint. Although, next time I'd probably skip the Craken taco and verde aguachile even though these two are a top recommendation. My favorite dish was probably the grilled shrimp. The way they grill it really brings out the sweetness and flavor of the shrimp. I personally enjoyed the la exotica more than the aguachile. The guac was also really good and the fried octopus was a good addition. I will definitely go to their other locations. This is a must try for seafood lovers.

Position are a bit small for a whole in the wall like this and prices are high especially on the tacos but that's because the quality seems really good and fresh and effort put into it. I will definitely try to come back And come early no reservations have to wait in lines cold or warm you will have to. Maybe they should open another spot or expand but that's their business .

Next time we stopped by for brunch, we got the bottomless option tried the Sangrita white, good sangrita price wise makes sense assuming u drinking more than 3-4 glasses a person. On the food Carnitas Benedict & short rib hash were both very tasty. For dessert gave the Tres Leches a try not bad, just the right amount of sweet. Another brunch visit & we tried Paloma spritz, good & Mexican coffee, pretty strong in taste. Chicken & waffles topped with bacon, very good chicken good combo dish. & the Lady's enchiladas great taste the enchiladas w the green sauce & cheese on top. Good size restaurant, small bar area towards the back, simple but colorful decor. Service overall has been good, they are attentive. Reasonable prices & u get a decent amount of food. My only complaint for the esquite was that it had a little too much water and mayo but other than that, the corn was sweet and all the seasoning was perfect and hit the spot! The main reason why this is one of my go to places now though is because of the smoothies. I haven't been too often just yet but the smoothies that I have tried from then so far have been absolutely perfect. I am just glad that I found this spot as the weather is getting warmer because I know I will be craving smoothies more often. The place is quite small and it was quite dim when I went in. They do have a couple of tables and seats as well. The service was also great. They were very sweet and our items came out in a timely manner.

We also ordered elote which is rolled up in tin foil. It was spicy for my palate and the crumbly cheese was okay. Just wasn't for my taste at all. But corn cleared my palate for the next bite. The rice in the burrito was undercooked. Some part of the grain was crunchy, but my boyfriend didn't notice it. I think I'll give this place another try.
