    Caramel Tres Leche Cake
    Brisje G.

So many yummy sweets! I have been here a few times. They never disappoint. I had a sweet tooth so I decided to go. I ordered the Caramel Tres Leche cake & a guava danish. The tres leche was perfect great flavors and not too soggy. I have yet to try the danish. I love guava so Im sure it will be scrumptious. I can't wait to go back & try more desserts. I heard they even have an amazing bread pudding. I love forward to that when I go back.

This little hole in the wall might be missed. It's located behind a shopping center. It has plenty of parking. They owner is very nice and in case you're wondering, yes they speak English. I've gotten that question/comment before from friends that wanted to try Mexican pastries, but were too afraid to enter thinking they needed to speak Spanish.

    Tres leches birthday cake
    Maia H.

Called to find out if they had tres leches birthday cakes the morning of needing one and was told they did. Went to the store, couldn't help but get much more than I needed to and wasn't disappointed. The flan was AMAZING! And the cinnamon tres leches square was soooo good! The only comment I received about the tres leches birthday cake was that it wasn't super milky but I think that was expected because it wasn't submerged in milk. Jennifer was super nice and helpful and I'll definitely be returning!

good & quick service, lots of pastries that look really good! clean area as well! tortas are MID, no friojoles on them, and milanesa de pollo was dry. would come again to try the tarts though.

She definitely left my mind at ease with her warm personality. Not only was the donut tower GORGEOUS but it was also delicious. The flavors I chose were the strawberry crunch, banana pudding, fruity pebbles and the Oreo. These were all delicious! All my guest and I were very impressed with everything. I am so thankful to Alexis and her team! I will recommend this place to everyone I know for every occasion, even just a sweet tooth. And ofcourse I will be going back :)

Saturday 1/10/26…read more I've been eying this dessert spot for a while, and today I made it happen. I ended up getting the apple pie cinnamon roll $11.95, biscoff banana pudding $9.95, and the MEGA cookies n cream shake (sub for a chocolate chip muffin) $28.95. - Service was solid and helpful. - Although the apple pie cinnamon roll $12 price tag is a bit much, I still was able to enjoy it. The toppings were nice, especially the cream cheese, but the dough was underwhelming as it was a bit dry and slightly firmer than I usually prefer. - The Biscoff banana pudding was the main pick the staff member recommended, so despite not being the biggest banana pudding guy, I had to try it. Unfortunately, it wasn't anything impressive, but it was cool. Also, the biscuit taste was more so in the background. - The shake was pretty good, but not $29 worth by any means. The cupcake that I got with it LOOKED GREAT, but I can't say the same for the taste, as it was just alright. The Oreo donut was solid. All in all, I'm not really crazy or impressed by any of the items and definitely wouldn't spend that amount of money again (especially on the $29 shake), but I enjoyed the experience. -- #issa.cheatday

Having said that, it was pretty well run and after waiting in line I found two registers waiting and was able to order a variety of baked goods and a fresh sandwich, which were prepared for me quite speedily. I wouldn't expect to be in and out immediately at peak times, but for me it was maybe forty-five minutes to wait in line, get food, and eat my sandwich. They offer good options for special dietary needs. The vegan sandwich is based on Old Bay marinated tofu, and they are not kidding about that. It is really, really Old Bay flavored. The tomato and avocado livens things up, but honestly the best part of the sandwich was still the sourdough bread, which is fair enough for a bakery. The spread of pastries I acquired was resplendent in quality and variety, and I will be happy to continue trying out all the Black Market locations to see which one is the most convenient.

We ordered the oatmeal pie, almond croissant, wildberry danish, Black Market bun, lemonade blueberry scone, and a caramel cappuccino. Ordering took maybe 4 minutes, and our food was already being bagged while we were ringing up. The drink took another 3 minutes, which was more than reasonable considering how busy they were. What really stood out was the customer service. The guy behind the counter found out it was our first time and immediately gave us a free scone, then took his time explaining how everything works. He walked us down the line, explained what each baked good was, pointed out the most popular items, and even shared his personal favorites. As busy as they were, they still made sure we felt taken care of. There was also a young lady bagging orders who jumped in and out of conversation while working--just as friendly and welcoming. Service like that is refreshing and definitely made an impression. He jokingly asked if he'd see us next weekend... and yeah, we'll definitely be back. The shop was clean, noise level was moderate, and there are a few tables if you get there early or get lucky, but most people seemed to be ordering to go. Lighting was good, and I didn't really notice any music. Price-wise, everything felt more than fair for the quality. They told us everything is cooked fresh daily and they basically go until they sell out--which makes sense given how much business they were doing. The food was excellent: fresh, flavorful, and a great mix of sweet and savory. Honestly, the only regret I had was not trying the breakfast sandwiches--we watched a few being made and they looked serious. Overall, this was an all-around great visit. The way they operate is unique, the food is top-tier, and I can absolutely see why people rush in to grab their favorites before things sell out. Without a doubt, we'll be back.

The woman taking my order added "no whip" because she assumed I didn't want dairy at all. When I asked for the whip they, with a nasty attitude, told me I had to pay extra. That didn't make sense to me considering the photo shows whip cream included. They started having a conversation in the back about me for making this simple request pointing out what their menu shows. I then pulled up the menu, waited in line again, and I showed them the menu and the mobile app which both show whip included and which you actually have to deselect it and neither has an additional fee. The woman preparing my order acknowledged that she deselected it on my behalf since I asked for oat milk. At this point - this is absolutely not about the whip cream or the upcharge, it is the abhorrent service, the aggressive demeanor, and the unexplained disdain I was shown when I treated both women with nothing but respect from the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out of the establishment. ATP the woman who took my order saw the issue and was going to resolve it by, of course, adding the included whip cream! However, the manager, DJ returned and interfered refusing to allow her to do so & going on a rant directed at me when I was not at all in communication with her. Then, as she was returning my order (which included a tip btw!!) she proceeded to attempt to insult me by saying, "if you don't have 70 cents to pay for this, just say so." For the record, the tip I left was more than the 70 cents so that obviously did not land well. Throughout this dumbfounding experience, I was standing there, my voice calm, not raised, in a store full of my customers (after I patiently waited in line a second time) at 10 months pregnant. We all have bad days, but on so many levels, this cannot be acceptable at any point. To insult someone to try to win a "debate" over a non-issue in an industry where some of us remember "the customer is always right," is despicable at best. I hope someone finds a training opportunity in this, but I will not return to ever find out.

So literally, I just got home from Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes, and I went there on happenstance after…read moremy sewing class because I was so close to Sonic. We do not have one where I live, so I naturally get excited every time I'm near one, and I make it my mission to stop and get a slushie. I traditionally get the lemon slush or the lime slush. But unbeknownst to me, Sonic redid their menu. Since there isn't one close to my house, I had to update the app and sign back in. Then I tried to order my usual drink, but because it had been more than 90 days since my last visit, my previous order was gone. So I started looking through the menu, only to realize the lemon frozen slush and the lime frozen slush were no longer there. I literally spent over 30 minutes sitting in the Sonic stall scrolling through the app because you have to order through it to get the half-price slushes. Now they have these new slushes with some type of tea concentrate, and I already know I don't like green tea. I didn't want to risk paying for something I probably wouldn't enjoy, especially since there wasn't an option to sample it. So I opened my Maps app to see what was nearby. That's when I noticed that a young lady I'd been following on Instagram had her Italian ice shop close by. I thought, "Oh my goodness!" It was less than a mile away, so I drove over to Killa Italian Ice & Smoothie and picked up some lemonade and a slice of cake. After that, I thought, "Let me see what other small businesses I can support while I'm over here." I wasn't really interested in any of the other food options because they were things I could already get in Woodbridge. So I searched for bakeries and found Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes, just a short drive away. I walked in, and to my surprise, they had a full restaurant menu in addition to their baked goods. Let me tell you, these people were so amazingly welcoming the moment I walked in. "Hey, sis!" "Hi, welcome!" I immediately felt at home, and I honestly haven't felt that way in an establishment in a very long time. I ended up telling the young lady behind the register about my whole Sonic adventure, and she said, "Well, let me let you try my chicken curry salad." Now, I didn't have the heart to tell her that I don't like chicken salad, so I said, "Okay." Let me tell you...that chicken curry salad was banging. I was like, "Oh wow. This is good." As we kept talking, I looked over the menu and realized I didn't want my usual comfort foods like pizza, collard greens, or macaroni. I wanted to try something different. So I ordered their Chicken with Attitude with rice and cabbage. The chicken had a Middle Eastern rustic flavor. It was roasted, incredibly tender, and unlike anything I'd had before. It's definitely a different taste and probably an acquired one, but I really enjoyed it. Although I'd only had that sample of the chicken curry salad, it was so good that I ordered half a pound of it to take home, along with a piece of pound cake. Like I said at the beginning, I DO NOT EAT chicken salad, but it completely surprised me. But beyond the food, they brought me a complimentary lemonade while I was sitting there eating. It tasted so fresh, like freshly squeezed lemon with other fresh fruit over ice. It was absolutely delicious and refreshing. Everywhere throughout the restaurant were little signs about genuine kindness. The whole place just felt welcoming. Being from Alabama, I grew up with Southern hospitality. You make eye contact, greet people, and make them feel at home. That's not meant to discredit businesses in DC, Maryland, or Virginia. This area is a melting pot of people from all over the world, and culturally, not everyone expresses hospitality the same way. But when I walked into Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes, every single person embodied that welcoming spirit. It wasn't just one employee. It was the people behind the counter, the people coming out of the kitchen, and even those arriving for work. I just remember thinking, "Wow." I felt safe. I felt welcomed. I felt wanted. I felt at home. I felt like family. More than the food, I felt like I had found my tribe. I found my village. I honestly wish I lived closer because, if I did, I'd probably be there every day. Since moving to this area in 2009, that's the feeling I've been missing. If I could recommend Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes a million times over, it wouldn't just be because of the food. It would be because of the sense of belonging. It's that feeling of walking into a place where everybody knows your name, even when they don't. If you're going through something, this is the place to go. Not just to feed your belly, but to feed your soul.
