Nice guy, doesn't speak a lot of English. Very fresh and delicious food, at least the burrito is. Excellent balance between the rice and the beans and the veggies. Can't wait to try other stuff. Right next-door to my favorite restaurant of all time, Masao's kitchen!

The No 2. Marinated Pork and Chile Relleno with a side of queso / April 2022

I have a soft spot for Salvadoran food, but don't often get to eat it. BUT now that I've discovered the nearby Mi Tierra, I'll be back very soon! It was so nice to come across this unassuming restaurant in downtown Waltham. It has a decently sized dining area and bar with spaced out tables, and Youtube music videos that made it feel festive. I immediately jumped at the chance to get pupusas as part of the combo meal. They even have a cheese-free option with just pork. (There's also a just cheese option, and a combination of the two.) My dish was a smorgasbord of deliciousness, with some of the best refried black beans I've ever had, alongside rice (a bit too al dente ), a very lightly dressed slaw, caramelized plantains, and a freshly made guac that went perfectly with the thick homemade corn tortillas. It was so much food that I easily packed half of it to go. The Tall Man's dish (the No. 2, marinated pork and chile relleno) was also delectable. He got queso without chips on the side (actual slices of cheese, not the melted stuff) plus an order of guacamole, which he polished off pretty quickly. He said few words during the meal except for "These are the best beans!" So many gluten and dairy free options! So many more things to try. Yup, we'll be back.

Friendly dude up front took my order. I ordered to go and it was prepared fresh and fast. Pastor tacos and carnitas burrito. All was delicious.

Ordered for pickup. Very disappointed by the food and service: 1) Rice was clumpy 2) Tostadas were soggy 3) There was no pork in the combo special. 4) Poor packing, with food leaking everywhere in the bag

Just a non-pretentious restaurant that offers good food. We ordered their mixed papusas, tamale, carne asada with homemade corn tortillas, and their fried plantains with crema. They offer good portions here especially for their tamale which was gigantic (especially for an appetizer item). It was also different from a Mexican tamale since it was steamed in banana leaves which I actually enjoyed more because it just gave the tamale a wonderful aroma and flavor. As for their fried plantains with crema--get it! They were perfectly ripe and just melted in my mouth. The best fried plantains I've ever had.

Coming from a native Central American family, having our traditional dinner plates are a must from time to time...moving to Boston i found my self with a shortage of those types of restaurant so finding one that i will like is a bit harder. Came across Mi Tierra while craving pupusas and living in Arlington driving to let say Lawrence or east Boston just doesn't make sense so i figured i try them out as the reviews are fair. We got there super late(9:30) kitchen closed at 10pm (so don't expect it to be busy at that time..service was great and welcoming, as it's a family ran business so you can tell they care about service. The Food: even tho my pupusas was just a minute to long on the grill so it was a bit toasted but the rest was delicious. Also order the "sopa de pata" which even tho it's not the same as moms cooking it tasted fairly close to what i like...my girl order the bistec and that was also really good and it comes with home style "rice and beans" (damm now i want some again) lol. Location: clean, Latin style music and bar and the bathroom was also very clean. Overall: take the family, take a date, food is good and the price is right!

The Food was amazing!!!! The papusas were very good. I would recommend the pork and cheese or just cheese. The steak was cooked perfectly! Definitely order the queso dip! I also loved the plantains and the black beans.

We were seated in a high top across from the bar. Our server, Hannah, was pleasant and cordial. My wife ordered the southwestern salad and I ordered a burger with a $2 upgrade to make the tater tots "garlic". Her salad comes and is much smaller than expected for $18. My burger came and I ordered it medium rare and it was well done. I sent it back to be refired to the proper temp and while I waited I ate the tater tots. I expected a $2 upcharge to be at least fresh garlic but it was garlic powder. On top of that, when I finished the tots(before the second burger) there was a pool of oil at the bottom of the basket plus 2 pools that leaked onto the table. The refired burger came back via a food runner, not a manager, and this burger was also not medium rare but I was hungry so I ate it. When we let Hannah know about the out l oil she explained that they regularly are cleaning up oil and not to worry about it. I'll be going to the Muffin House down the road from now on. Even tucked away at the end of a strip mall, it checks all the boxes: great beer, good food, plenty of space, and a fun atmosphere. The food comes from a little food truck outside the building rather than a traditional kitchen, but don't let that fool you, everything I've had has been delicious. My boyfriend is a loyal fan of the Cloud Candy IPA (he'll order it anywhere he sees it on tap), while I can never resist the Daiquiri Hard Smoothie (I forget what it's called, but it's so tasty lol). It's dangerously good... like, "I should probably pace myself, but that's a tomorrow problem" good. The brewery itself has a lot going on. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, a coffee shop tucked in the back, a private event room, and even a rock-climbing gym connected to the building, which makes for a pretty unique setup. If you're lucky, you'll even catch the canning line running while you're there, which is fun to watch and reminds you you're drinking the good stuff straight from the source. Whether you're meeting friends for a beer, hanging out for the afternoon, or introducing someone to craft beer, Mighty Squirrel is a solid choice. I'll definitely keep coming back!

I can't think of any other place in the greater Boston area that does this and they are amazing. They have a list of songs they can play on demand that is over 16 pages long, covering anything from pop, rock, country, RnB, ballads, showtunes, to metal. They give you an iPad with the lyrics mounted on a mic stand, a full four piece band (guitar, drums, bass, and keyboards), and the spotlight on stage. The crowd is so into it, it does not matter if this is the first time you've tried it or if you're a pro. Seriously, you can not find anything else like this out there of this quality for free. And for it to happen at a quality dining establishment is crazy. Make sure to come early (they start at 8:30pm) as the list fills up fast. Even the bar staff gets into it, and they are amazing.
