First visit service was good. Food was not decent. I had a sangria which was excellent. I probably will not return as I was not impressed.

I have ordered from this restaurant before. The food is okay. I always get it to go and the staff always seems to have a chip on their shoulder. My spanish isn't perfect but I try. Yesterday, I called and asked if there was anyone present who spoke english to help me with my order. I was told "Wait!" and put on hold. I waited about 3 minutes and hung up. Called back, same thing. Then again, same thing. I finally gave up and ordered from another restaurant close by and, to my surprise, the food was amazing! Mi Tierrita's lack of having someone at their restaurant who even would try to help me out is very sad. I have given quite a bit of money to this restaurant in the past and I will not ever order from there again. Not only did they stress me out, they were rude. Today I called to speak to the manager, Ruby.... I was told, "She be in tomorrow" and they hung up on me. I have NEVER been treated worse. Had dinner here last night and everything was really delicious, from the mango smoothie, to the sublime chicken soup. I should mention that if you don't like bones in your chicken, do not get the chicken soup. I'm used to maneuvering around bones. The chicken was moist and I got a bonus gizzard! Not for everyone but the broth was so flavorful and I would just get the chicken soup next time. It easily had a full serving size of chicken in the soup alone. My husband had the breaded steak, which he said was excellent. The rice and beans were perfection. The weak dish was actually my entree, "Arroz con Pollo". I like my chicken with rice to have olives and the chicken not to be shredded. Anyway, you know a place is good when it's packed at 11 pm. Our waiter was very friendly and the service was excellent. Huge portions! Homestyle delicious food. Best Spanish restaurant so far. Colombian I think. Great service. Food comes out fast so I always make a point to tip well. I live in Levittown and I trek out to Brentwood once a week if possible. Pollos y paisa is so 'meh' after I've discovered Mi tierrita. Their steak is humongous and soo savory. Their chicken is moist and done right with the right seasonings. We usually get the Churrasquia shell steak, chicharron con arepa, chicken or beef soup, side avocado, empanadas, and plantains. The main courses come with rice and beans. I don't like the beans because I'm not a bean person but everything else is spectacular. Drinks are on point. I get the frothy iced tea with lime is a must have. Trust me, I usually drink tea with no sugar but I had to make an exception for this sweet number. From the start the experience was horrible, the host asked the party size I told her we were five, a few minutes later another party of five walks in, they go to the host and let her know they are a party of five she sits them down right away. Of course I went up to her let her know we were waiting way before them and we as well are a party of five how is it possible they get seated right away. With a dumbfounded face she just say come with me and walks us to a table right away, not even apologizing for what she did. We ordered our food and drinks and it arrived right away, we were enjoying their authentic hot sauce; up until we got to the end of the sauce to our surprise a screw with dirt! When the waiter came by to ask if everything was ok, we show him he just smiles and says we would have to address it to the manager. We asked him to get the manager, he goes gets her 10 mins later another waitress comes by to justify the situation. A few minutes later the manager shows up just to apologize, we asked at least to get a discount. After all at this point we don't know if we will get sick, this just happened. When we leave the manager says I discounted two colombiana sodas, thats about a $4 discount, compared to a horrible experience and possible doctor bill. read more
