I just wanted to say that this is the BEST, BEST, BEST Autobody shop that I have EVER BEEN to! :-) I looked FOR MONTHS to find the RIGHT body shop (and pricing) to do the work on the EXTENSIVE front end damage that I had on my truck from our move in March of 2025. They are/were outstanding in multiple ways! :-) First, you can EXPECT superb Customer Sevice from EVERYONE that works there, especially the Owners. This business "bends over backwards" to ensure that everything possible can be done to fix your vehicle(s) and get it/them back on the road and make you happy. They've worked on 3 of MY vehicles, thus far. Second, is their level of expertise, on the work that is going to be done on/to your vehicle. It's simply extraordinary. Between all of the employees (and the owners) the decades of experience of their team is most impressive and obvious. You will definitely see it when you work with them. Third, they get the work done in a very "timely" manner which was so appreciated by me. "Time is money" and I needed my vehicle back as soon as possible and they "MADE IT HAPPEN". Every detail is considered and executed with ease when they repair your vehicle. They even wash it, for you, before they give it back to you. Like "What?!?!?!?". Thanks Michael J's! :-) Lastly, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, is their pricing. I think that it is really the fairest business in San Jose, CA, in this industry. I was most pleased with what I had to PAY for my vehicle to be repaired. In fact, their fair pricing is that MAIN reason that I chose this company to repair my vehicle. I took my 2008 RRS to Michael J's (West Taylor location) after my bumper and tail light were damaged in a hit and run. I initially wanted to take her to the dealership's body shop, but they were not on the list given to me by my insurance company. I am extremely meticulous when it comes to maintaining my RRS so I was a bit skeptical in taking her to a shop that I had never been to before. After a day of reading reviews on various body shops, I decided to bring her to Michael J's. First impressions mean a lot, and Michael J's definitely lived up to my standards. Their facilities, from the exterior appearance of the building to the cleanliness of the inside of the shop, are top notch. Pedro and the rest of the staff there were extremely courteous, and they went above and beyond what I expected from them. They contacted the insurance company for me so all that I had to do was to literally drop the car off and pick it up 4 days later. Upon picking her up, I inspected the areas that were repaired, and I was very pleased with the quality of their work. The paint was an exact match to the original, and it looked like a brand new RRS again. They even did a full detail on her; they waxed and buffed everything out so that even the numerous small hairline scratches that had accumulated from 3 years of weekly car washes were gone. My wife and I, both 65 plus , are VERY discriminating with our automobiles. When I was younger, I worked in a body shop and my life-long hobby is restoring antique cars and old tractors, so I know top quality body repair and painting when I see it. My 2020 Honda Touring CRV was the victim of a nasty hit and run in a parking lot that required metal repair and refinishing on the right front fender and the front bumper cover to also be repainted. The Honda is a metallic red, and sometimes it is hard to get a good match on the paint. The work done at the 1420 N 4th st San Jose shop was great and the match on the paint is superb. We also took in my wife's new Mercedes GLC for application of guardian plastic on the door edges and below the rear hatch. Owner Jeff Ryan took time with us and even let us look at his very-well equipped shop and a 2019 Corvette his team just customized and a Bobcat tractor they are repainting. We were very impressed with the precaution Jeff takes to defeat the COVID 19 virus, by placing a covers over the steering wheel/seats and sprays the inside with a disinfectant. i was driving through a parking lot looking for a parking space, i stopped for someone pulling out of a parking space someone pulled out and hit the side of my car. looking at the car didn't look that bad, changed information. went home mad that people don't look when they backed out. went on the web for body shop near me. the person insurance call and told me to go to there body shop so i went to there shop i had to wait almost an hour, then went out looked at the car first thing out of his mouth was its an after market finder, that didn't make scene to me went back in got a $200 quote. i called the insurance said do you have another body shop they gave me another went there to get a quote someone came out very rude I told him where it was hit he said he doesn't see any damage. So i left very mad at the insurance sending me their a wast of time. I found Michael J's they came out and seen things I couldn't see gave me an estimate. had them fix my Honda they matched the paint perfect. a month later I was parked in the street a van turned into a driveway and hot my left finder. I was involved in a fender bender resulting in damage to my car's rear bumper and muffler pipe. Being new to the Bay area and not knowing any better, I looked to Yelp for locating a good bodyshop. Michael J's was conveniently located and had great reviews, so it seemed like a fair option; I took my car for a pre-inspection and was greeted by Jeff who is the owner and general manager at the shop. Within minutes of getting there I was convinced that this was an extremely well run business. The staff were very friendly and reassuring from the outset. Jeff himself is very hands-on, no-nonsense, and accommodating of his customer's concerns. Since this was my first time dealing with an auto insurance company, he also guided me on how to go about it. He fought a difficult battle with the insurance provider to obtain the best replacement parts for my car. I truly admire Jeff and staff for their excellent customer orientation and prompt service .. they actually managed to make an otherwise frustrating experience very pleasant. My car was involved in a hit and run and my insurance company suggested Michael J's. I brought my car in and Lee immediately came out to look it over and figure out what work needed to be done and gave me a rough estimate of what it would cost to do everything and about how long it would take, very professional and nice. I was headed out of town for the long weekend and was told I would probably get it back the following Thursday. It was ready two days earlier than expected! I went to pick it up and boy did my car look good! It looked better than it did before the accident! My fogged headlight was taken care of, the paint on the new parts matched perfectly, all the work was superb! When I came to pick it up, they even wiped down my car to get any excess pollen or anything off of it, just to give it that extra sparkle. And, they completely cleaned the inside and outside of my car as well, complimentary! Everyone is so nice and professional and genuinely want to get your car fixed with the best workmanship and in the most time efficient manner! I will definitely be bringing my car here again. My Dodge caravan was involved in an accident that did major damage to the rear bumper. My insurance company gave me the names of three auto body shops that were close to where I lived. I chose Michael J's because it was close to Bellarmine College Prep and I knew where that was. Little did I know Michael J's was going to deliver the best possible service. I met with the owner Jeff and he did a quick and efficient estimate. The one thing that stood out was the insistence that they would do everything they could to restore the car to the best condition they could. This would include detailing the outside of the car to remove any paint blemishes the car had gathered over the past 5 years. The inside would also be scrubbed down to make it like new. I could not believe how good the car looked when I picked it up. It was done on time and shined like a new car. All I ever ask any service organization is to do what they say they will do. Took my 2013 Ram to get some repairs done, at 597 west taylor st in san jose Michael J's Collision. It was the fastest and easiest place I have ever been to. My service advisor Justin and George the manager made everything super easy with the insurance. Justin always kept me on the emails that he send to my insurance. I dropped off my ram last week then on Tuesday i seen the email that my truck was ready.. i was amazed and not expecting it to be done that soon. Justin called me to Inform me that it was really, i did ask him if i could leave it there until Thursday when i had my day off from work. They were so understanding with my situation and said yes of course no problem. I went for my ram today and LOVED it..it was like new my eyes couldn't believe it. The owner Jeff Ryan is a real genuine person. I met Jeff 11 years ago thru a friend, and from the moment I met the guy he was nothing but honest with me. I dropped off my truck with him, and it took a little longer than I expected to get my vehicle back, but when i got my vehicle back, it was spot on detailed, the tri-tone paint was seamless. From the strait lines between the door jams to the top of the line replacement parts ( not refurbished cheap after market parts) I am always impressed with the work and customer service that goes on when I hand Jeff or any of his staff my keys. My car: 2011 Infiniti G37S Coupe Michael J's Body Shop is great!! Pedro is the one who helped me out and he did a very good job to guarantee that my car would be repaired to perfect condition. I was at first hesitant to bring my car here but I felt confident because of all 5 star yelp reviews as well as recommendations from forums. Oh boy did I make a great choice! Pedro followed up throughout the week and carefully explained in detail what was going on with my car. My car came out perfect. Michael J's customer service was amazing. They make you feel like your definitely in the right place. The damage to my car was one of a few incidents happening in my life at that time. You name it I was going through it. Mike Ryan was the one who was assigned to my 2015 sonata and I couldn't ask for someone better. Over a 2 half week period it was one less stressful worry on my mind. He checked in with me to let me know the progress with my car pretty often. Didn't mind answering any questions I had or how long it took me to give my car an inspection myself before leaving the lot. One small concern I had about my doors being adjusted and Mike was on it right then and there. I really appreciate Mike and the staff at Michael J's. After getting hit, I brought my car to Michael J's Body Shop and had a great experience. Sergio, the manager, was super helpful and made the whole process smooth from start to finish. The shop worked quickly with the other party's insurance to get everything handled, and I was in and out without any unnecessary delays. In less days than originally expected. The quality of the repair work is great, and I really appreciate that it comes with a lifetime warranty, that definitely gives me peace of mind. The only downside was the rental car situation. AAA partners with Enterprise, and their selection was pretty limited while my car was in the shop. Not a huge issue, but worth mentioning. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Michael J's. After having the misfortune of a valet damaging the hood of our car I can see why Oaktree Mazda value the efforts of this business so highly. From the moment of first contact right through to picking up our repaired little baby this place was nothing but first class. Mike Ryan dealt with us personally and professionally and his whole team put in a stellar performance. Easy to communicate with and the repair job was perfect and exactly as quoted. Being that body shopping is one of the most stressful thing to go through, I had to make sure I picked a body shop that I trust to do fair and quality work. Originally, I had an appointment to drop off my car at a Lexus certified body shop but bailed out last minute because of the reviews. I was very worried that I wouldn't be able to find a body shop who can work on difficult paint as my Lexus's atomic silver, but was very impressed with the quality of work I received here and it was all done in 3 business days! Vivi was very responsive and made sure to take care of my insurance and Jeff made me that this was the body shop for me. I am very pleased with the results and would definitely come here again! Took our Mazda Miata over to the shop to check it out to see if we felt comfortable that they could do the work. The shops and reception were well organized and pin neat. We not only received friendly, courteous service from Pedro but were able drop off the car on the spot and receive a ride home. In addition to the front end body work needed, I asked them to check a rattle in the right door and noise coming from the rear wheels. All work was completed in 3 working days PERFECTLY! The body work was impeccable, the door needed panel fasteners and rear end struts needed tightening and lube. Pedro performed the fastener and tightening free of charge. Everything about Michael J's is top class. I took my car in, which needed a replacement bumper and not only did they set me up with a rental, but my car was fixed, washed, and vacuumed in 24 hours. Michael J's did a great job fixing the body of my 2024 Kia Telluride after it was hit by another driver. He worked with the other party's insurance directly which made the experience very straightforward. I showed my mechanic a list of the approved body shops from the insurance company's list and he immediately told me to go to "Mikey Js." He said he sees good work coming from their body shop. The team there communicated with me regularly. I picked up the car today and it looked brand new. In fact, it used to have a rattle in the hatchback that I have been trying to get the kia dealership to fix for months and they must've just fixed it unasked. No rattle.
