She definitely was rough when I went in for a filling, very abrupt in her tone but since it was my first time there, I let it go. Another visit, there was some odd disagreement between her and the hygienist with tense words shared and me in the middle. Very awkward to say the least. When I finally decided to schedule being fitted for a retainer she quoted me a staggering $800. I did not receive a quote on paper or email and did not sign anything. When I called to confirm with my insurance provider, they said she was not qualified to perform the service?! They recommended I seek a orthodontist. The final straw was when I called the office number to cancel, left a voicemail since it was after hours and 8pm at night get a call from Dr. Mayada clearly upset that I cancelled saying the retainer is already ordered and it's "too late" to cancel (even though I was cancelling way more than 24hr in advance). Unfortunately, echoing the other reviews: she is too deep in the admin side and tries to upsell to her patients. This lack of consideration she has towards her staff and patients is very alarming, unprofessional and ultimately made me seek care elsewhere.

I even make the drive from the North Shore to Lexington to continue with such a tremendous dentist. From the moment you enter you are greeted by the most lovely women working the front desk. On certain days even Dr. DiMattia's wife is working. They remember most patients by name and will inquire about family, work etc. I usually see Joan for my cleanings. She books quickly because she is awesome. She does such a thorough job but you don't feel like your teeth have been assaulted. You leave saying wow so that's what they're supposed to feel like. Again Joan has worked for Dr. DiMattia for years. Having employees that stick with a dentist I think show the character of the professional. You can tell his employees hold him with high regard and so do his patients. Dr. DiMattia is personable and most importantly honest. You're never talked into unnecessary xrays, this that or anything else. Dr. DiMattia is incredibly fair on the prices he charges too. In this day and age when a good dentist is hard to find and many people fall victim to gentle dental or other national chains it's nice to know that Dr. DiMattia takes the Hippocratic oath to heart.

Completely unwilling to cooperate, grandstanding customers in front of other customers, throwing papers at them and using "you will pay out of pocket" as the answer to everything. We've never been late to an appointment or had a cancellation, and never needed anything other than a cleaning and an x-ray, but the moment we step foot in the practice they always find something to scold us about. I wanted to talk to the practice manager about today's experience, but after reading the reviews it's clear where this attitude is stemming from.
