We went to The Ivy Kitchen in Huntington the other night with a group of 12, and overall the experience was very mixed. We arrived about 30 minutes late for our reservation, and I really have to give credit where it's due because they were kind enough to hold our table and keep the kitchen open for us, even though we didn't place our order until about 15 minutes after being seated. That level of accommodation was truly appreciated. The table was ready, the music and vibes were great, the DJ was on point, and the drinks were amazing. Our waitress was extremely attentive, especially considering the size of our party and the late hour. Service and atmosphere were definitely highlights of the night. Unfortunately, the food was the biggest letdown. Several dishes came out cold, and everything was extremely salty, almost inedible in some cases. I ordered a medium steak, but it was more like well done, very tough, and I was chewing forever. I wasn't the only one as a few friends who ordered steak had the same complaint. The broccolini was overly salty and honestly not edible. The mac and cheese was also disappointing, which was extra frustrating because I'm on a keto diet and went off plan for it, only to be let down. To be fair, not everything missed the mark: * One friend ordered a burger and fries and said it was good * Two friends had the salmon, which they rated a 6 * However, most of the sides were not good at all I'm not sure if the food quality was affected by the kitchen closing, but the excessive salt and temperature issues were hard to ignore. Nobody complained though, we paid our tab and kept it pushing. Bottom line: Great atmosphere, great drinks, great service but the food consistency really needs work. When we were seated, was kind of bummed it was one of those tall round bar table for two next to the bar since we love to try different foods but it was alright. We also got the app meatball that my wife enjoyed more than I did. One of them were dry while the other 3 were pretty good. We got chicken parm and the skirt steak. We both liked the chicken parm and the pasta was cooked al dente. The skirt steak my husband enjoyed more while I thought it was alright. The gravy for the mashed potatoes was very good. Overall, the flavor profile was good but the cost of the portion didn't really match, but we still thoroughly enjoyed our time as we pretty much paid for the vibe. I think we would come back for the vibe/bday/an event. The noise level is pretty loud as you have a live Dj but we liked all the songs that were played. You can tell the amt of effort this place gives to their customers to have a great time, which we really appreciated. That aside, food is terrible, took about 1 hr for entrees, and staff is rude and condescending. Extremely overpriced for a mediocre experience. Don't go here. Also! We only had 15 people in our party and we told that to the hostess when we arrived. Reservation originally said 17, but 2 people had an emergency and couldn't make it. I was here for a rehearsal dinner, and we had a private room in the back. It fits around 25-30 people comfortably. The décor in the room is pretty, and we had our own bathroom and separate exit. It is very private when the doors are closed. I had the Dreamy Orange with vanilla stoli, blood orange, and prosecco from the specialty cocktail menu. It was okay - not bad and not great. I should have gone with my usual Vodka Dirty Martini. The bride had pre-order the food for us. It was meatball, brussels sprouts, broccolini, steak, chicken parmesan, and pasta. It was all delicious. My favorite was the brussels sprouts, meatball, and chicken parm. Simple classic dishes done right! The service was good. We constantly had someone checking on us, refilling drinks and water. The two turn offs were the prices, since the bill was slightly higher than the menu, due to credit vs cash price; and was told the desserts were made by a neighboring bakery, which we passed on. We walked in, and was immediately greeted by the hostess. I noticed how pretty & clean it was inside! It was dim with little lights on the table, but I def love that vibe. When she walked us to our table, we were also almost immediately greeted by our server, Breezy. He asked us if we knew our drinks and what water would we like. I got a lychee martini and wow! It was great!! We ordered calamari for appetizer, short rib risotto, skirt steak, and Mac and cheese. After we ordered, breezy brought out champagne for us and complimentary table bread for our anniversary!! He greeted us & we were so surprised! The bread was DELICIOUS!! Probably one of my husband's favorites as of today. From the calamari to the short rib, to the steak, and mac and cheese... EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!! We were so happy our meals were so flavorful with great portions. For dessert, i wanted the rainbow cookies. Breezy brought it out with a sparkler and told us happy anniversary once again. We started looking through the menus and realized we were not given the price fix menu so we asked for it. Our water told us we do not do that anymore. We told him, it is listed on your website. He said that the website needed to be updated. We told him the whole reason we were there was due to the price fix menu. He checked in the back and then gave us the price fix menu. We place our order and enjoyed the food. We each ordered entrees that had up charges. When the check came and we were overcharged for the 2 up charges. We felt like the whole price fix was a bait and switch. They did honor it but then tried to overcharge us. They corrected the check after we pointed it out. This restaurant has been on my foodie bucket list for a few months now and I finally got to check it out for a friend's birthday! The vibe was beautiful as you walked in, as well as inside. We started with a round of drinks - Hendricks Lamar and a Spicy Mezcalita with Tajin on the rim. Kudos to the bartender because it was on point and it reminded me of my travels to Tulum. Shortly after, our starters were delivered - Beet Salad and Fig and Prosciutto Pizzette. The Beet salad was delicious paired up with the Pizzette. The Pizzette was cut into fours (if you'd like eights you can ask the lovely waitstaff). My friend went with the Short Rib Risotto and I with Filet Mignon special of the night. Both were absolutely delicious...however, the Filet Mignon was heavily salted. The Short Rib fell right off the bone and it was super tender. There was a sparkler and shot giveaway or intermission due to filming of a reel for the restaurants social media page(s), etc. No waiver was signed upon arrival or leaving via being featured in reel or being videotaped. Tables within the middle of restaurant were stored away due to it turning into a dance floor. It was a great evening of drinks, food, and dancing the night away. There were a variety of age groups dancing the night away, bottle service, etc. I hope to return and check other menu items! We decided to change our regular Friday night spot for dinner to change things up after our daughter's dance class and chose to try The Ivy. Valet parking is more or less a prerequisite to enter the parking lot and wouldn't be too terrible if the attendants at least opened a door for the ladies or didn't lose track of our key at the end of our meal. It turned out it was still in the door handle of the car so not a game changer but with the rash of car break-ins lately it would have been a big deal had it gotten stolen or rummaged through. Once inside the hostess station was staffed by a couple of nice young women who gave us a nice table for our party of four. Decor is upscale and with the exception of cloth napkins, there is nothing here to absorb the conversations around you so the noise can be quite loud. I'm guessing that would explain the overly loud music playing trying to drown the conversations nearby making conversation at your own table strained. Those were the only real detractors from an otherwise excellent meal. Service was excellent with Nick and the rest of the staff who were always available to clear a plate or fill a glass. The women had specialty cocktails made with elderberry and enjoyed them. Pasta is always a hit with the little ones and this was the trick to satisfy our daughter. They use fresh pasta made daily and brought in from further out west on the island. As soon as I sampled a Rigatoni, I knew it was freshly made and thicker than what you might expect from a box. Portions were very nicely sized and we all had a box to bring home some leftovers. This is a nice romantic and intimate spot if you are looking for a first date place or someone you are trying to impress someone. But be prepared to pay a little more for your meal. While we only had two cocktails with our meal and $10 bowl of pasta for the little one, the rest of the apps and entrees set us back almost $300. If it weren't for the superior service and tasty food coupled with an upscale environment, it wouldn't be worth the price. For less money, you can do very well in the great town of Huntington. read more

We were the only people here on a rainy Wednesday night but the staff said this place is def a vibe on the weekends esp brunch so I'm interested in checking that out one day. We were greeted with some incredible bread with a whipped ricotta to start and we split everything right down to the espresso flight for dessert. We started with the prosciutto wrapped shrimp and truffle and hot pepper pizzette-both were so flavorful. For entrees we got the barrotta with crispy chicken, short rib mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts. Everything was delicious and portion sizes were pretty big. The fries were skinny and delicious too but I was focused on the steak. My partner had the prime rib mac and cheese. That cheese sauce was so thick and delicious! I was invited to a birthday dinner and the birthday girl was told that she would be given a pre-fix menu and have dishes to pick from. From my understanding, they have two prefix menus to choose from. We chose the one that was $65 pre tax and gratuity. She chose calamari, steak, tortellini, pizza and garlic mashed potatoes. The food wasn't my favorite but wasn't bad at all. I enjoyed the calamari and the steak the most. Juice and soda was offered but if you wanted alcohol, it was an additional $15 for unlimited red and white wine. The both service and ambience were both very nice. I don't understand the less than glowing reviews. This place was off the charts great. The service was outstanding, from the concierge, to the waiter and the guys bussing. Everyone was incredible. They knew it was our anniversary and went out of their way to make us feel special even with a large birthday celebration just one table over. The food? Legit! The missus had the short rib mac and cheese and I had the Wagyu burger. Simply one of the best dinners and easily the best M&C either of us ever had. Even something as simple as table bread.
