I have not been to Michael's in years but I dropped by on a whim looking for an amethyst colored floral arrangement. I struggled a bit to find those colors but was greeted by Ryan, who politely asked if I needed help and he made my search a breeze. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very charismatic. His customer service was amazing and I plan to contact his supervisor as well to let them know how excellently he performs the duties of his job and how pleasant and courteous he is to the customer. read more

Worst customer service ever I'm in this store buying crafting supplies weekly can in on Saturday and bought a craft cart they didn't offer to help me out with it as it is very heavy I asked if there was somebody that can help me carry it and I was told they're all customer service people are busy so I had to carry it out myself got it home realized that it is broke tried to return it and was told I could not return it because they didn't know if it was broke in store or if I did it at home being I only had it for less than 30 minutes I can guarantee it was broke in store I asked to talk to a manager and was told they were at lunch so I had to take the cart back home and now I have to live with it and I paid $80 for this broken cart I will never be back to the store after the way I was treated shame on you Michaels read more

I've been to quite a few Michaels in and out of my area, and I must say that this location has the best customer service of them all. If I can not find what I'm looking for there, the associates find out if another location nearby may have it. They also have suggestions to my inquiries on projects I'm thinking of taking on. Ralph (i think his name((it says "since 2007 on the name tag)) IS HORRIBLE. I purchased two sets of beads from a pick up from the long beach location and went to return it today as well as purchase more beads from this location. I went here because it was closer to my house. I went up to the counter to return literally TWO items and he yelled "UGHHH A RETURN?!?" and I was like "hi." Didn't even greet me. I mentioned how they were from two different receipts and I had both of them laid out. He then said "Ugh!!! You have to make me do so much work!!" and I made a straight face and said nothing. I could not believe this guy. He asked why I returned the beads and I told him that I bought them online and they were too small. Ralph said "Ughhh why did you buy them?!" Mind you his voice is loud. I looked at him right in the eye and made a straight face and was silent still. WORST WAY TO TREAT A CUSTOMER. He then said "you know i'm joking right?" Are you serious?!? GET OUTTA HERE. I love this particular Michaels because I found our perfect Christmas tree here!!! On a limb the bf and I decided to go shopping for a Christmas tree after our Thanksgiving dinner. We actually purchased a different type of tree at the Michaels in Fullerton but they didn't have enough of the frosted branch that I wanted so we came here to see if I could find more branches. My bf decided to look at their selection of trees as I was in the other section looking for my branch and he saw a better tree (Bristol pine) for the same price. There was a sign that said it was out of stock so I decided to ask if we could just get the display tree (Yes! We wanted that particular type of tree that badly lol). The girl at the register was very friendly and accommodating with our request. Long story short they ended up finding the one we liked but brand new (we didn't have to take the one on display) and we were able to exchange our tree from the other store with no hassle or problem. This is the WORST Michael's to go to for customer service and accurate pricing. I have been going to this Michael's for years, and every time I leave, I wonder why I continue to go there. More often than not, I go to the register thinking I'm paying one price and I end up paying another. Their management is extremely poor. I think Michael's percent-off coupons are great - IF you can use them towards your purchase ! I just purchased a rollling cart at regular price & no where on the sign explaining what the item is & the price does it say "no coupons" - but the cashier said I couldn't use it towards the cart. Why? Because it is already at its lowest price --- whaaat ? & where on the coupon does it state this ?....I was told that if I looked up the product on-line, that it does state "no coupons to be used" - but I wasn't going on-line while shopping at the store.....oh well - most everything is at "lowest price" & I am not seeing this verbage on the coupon itself unless it is considered "great buy items" - . I do feel this is rather a misleading factor & not very good customer service. that's why I only rated it 3 stars. signage above the item in store needs to tell the customer that no percentage off coupons are accepted. Other than this issue I think Michael's is a fun place to shop & they carry some pretty great items ! read more

I was surprised to find that this Michaels is superbly stocked up with anything and everything that I need. I was avidly switching between making adventures to ASW in Westminster or Blick in Fullerton, both of which are fairly far since I'm coming from Anaheim. I'm almost afraid to write this...but this is the best Michaels I've visited in awhile! Aisles were nice, neat and clear. Shelves were organized and well stocked. Christmas clearance items were clearly marked and in their place. Hooray! It was a joy to shop here even during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. I was asked 2 times if I needed assistance and all employees seemed to be happily assisting other customers. The main reason I finally left and paid was because I was hungry!! Otherwise could've stayed a lot longer. Kudos to the Michaels staff in Buena Park - you guys rock!!! read more

I was looking for a pencil box with compartments and they didn't have one. They don't even have colored pencils or charcoals except in prepackaged sets. Very weird. There was literally one person working the register so I had to look for another employee. The lady I founf was super helpful amd really really tried to find what I was looking for. Huge store with lots of inventory. So large that it's very hard to find things and most product groups are separated across parts of the store. Very disorganized. They also don't let you take carts outside the store. Very hard to carry large items, which make up a majority of their merchandise. Would not return. read more

I moved recently to a new apartment, the only things that got damaged in the move, we're two pieces of glass on two of my framed pieces of artwork. I took them into Michael's in Buena Park, California. To my surprise, WOW, finding a nice guy, Ryan who ran the Framing Department. He greeted me with enthusiasm, and extremely professional. He gave me the quote, and guaranteed to have the work done within the hour. I advised if he could just call when they would be ready for pick up, no rush. I paid the price, and to my next surprise, mid-morning the following morning, I received a call from Ryan once again advising me that the artwork was ready to be picked up. I arrived that afternoon, Ryan was working once again, he remembered my name from the day before, furthermore, he spent the time having me inspect each piece, and explained everything they did to restore these prints to new. I was very pleasantly surprised with the level of professionalism, pride and knowledge of his craft. Furthermore, I learned something new that day from Ryan, one of the prints I purchased while living in Boston, MA quite a few years prior, he had taken it upon himself to investigate who the photographer was when the picture was taken, and the years that this artist produced pictures such as this. My hat goes off to Michael's for having a absolutely wonderful, professional representing their company, such as Ryan. Because of that visit, you have made me a customer for life. We had my daughter's 8th birthday here and at first I was a little worried because when I showed up, the staff wasn't aware that our party was starting in 30 minutes. BUT, they quickly pulled all the craft supplies we needed and had the room set up by the time our guests arrived. It was all uphill from there...every member of the staff we dealt with was fantastic! They went above and beyond to make the party a success. You even get to pick which crafts you want to do based on the age and gender of the party guests, and it's all included. The girls had a great time and the parents got to sit back and relax or watch. I'd definitely recommend doing a party here if your child enjoys crafts! 5 stars for the team members who worked our event on 3/18. read more

I shop Michaels because it's conveniently located and usually has everything I am looking for. When I am planning on doing a craft I can always find what I need here, except for wrapping paper. Lots of ribbon but limited type of paper. I always spend a little more than planned because they have so many cute ideas and you always think you need more STUFF. there is one downfall and that is the cashiers sometime don't move very fast and that can be frustrating if you are on a time crunch. I came here to purchase bird houses I Purchased 500 or more each time and I was surprised to find that in order to get a basket to fill bird houses with a cost a quarter. I was shocked and amazed that I couldn't didn't have enough change to be able to get a second basket so my experience was pretty poor. The fact that they put or require a quarter to get a basket was going to do terra my stay the fact that I will come back again and I will question then go to Hobby lobby where I don't have to pay a quarter for a basket read more

I used to love the Michael's location where I lived before, but was disappointed with this one for the past few years until two days ago. I always love the great items they have, but customer service means more than product selection for me. They have the nicest guy there who was very helpful and he was the only person to ask us if we needed help. Nobody has ever done that before at this location. I think his name is Donovan. He went out of his way to make sure we were finding what we needed. Everybody at this store should look to him as a great example of awesome customer service.
