Store hours say open until 9pm, but doors are locked by 8:30??? Waste of time, adjust signage or stay open till you're supposed to

Nathan is an outstanding framer. I brought in some hand died batiks with less than exact edges. He did an amazing job. They look great!

I just brought my second concert poster for framing here and the staff is so kind, helpful, and creative.

If you're reading this review, you probably already know what gachapon capsule machines are,…read morecollectible dispensers popular across Asian countries, most associated with Japan. There's been a huge explosion, especially with Gen Z, in rediscovering Asian collectible culture around these figures. It used to be Japan-only, or you'd import them and get overpriced merch on eBay. Bandai has official shops in places like Mitsuwa and Little Tokyo with their own machines, but it's rare to find collector-focused, authentic gacha outside those official stores. Gotcha Planet is really awesome. It's a small location, but packed to the brim with collectibles from popular series like Frieren, Dragon Ball, Chiikawa, Sanrio, JoJo, etc. There's a convenient coin machine to tap your card, get coins, and start pulling. Everything is clean and organized, and although it's usually just one staff member, they've always been nice and helpful. A couple things to know: * No bathroom on site, so plan accordingly. * It's a small space, so it can get cramped if there's a crowd (though I've rarely seen more than one or two other people there at a time). * Pricing is fair considering they're paying rent like everyone else here. * Restocks are fast, so it's worth checking back for the latest stuff. My one real complaint is the selection leans hard into what's popular... cute stuff, current or timeless anime franchises. As someone who collects the weirder side of gacha, like fake miniature food, bugs, dinosaurs, animal figurines etc, I wish they carried more of that. There's a huge market for it, especially in Japan, where you'll find gacha for things like miniature tech, or even a dental office set with tiny chairs and equipment for dioramas. I'd love to see Gacha Planet lean into the weird and niche a bit more, not just the reliable sellers. For now, I go when I need character merch or blind boxes for friends who just want something cute or cool, not the weird stuff I'm after.

More Than Just A Frame…read more Went to Hobby Lobby looking for a picture frame for a short poem that means a great deal to me. I quickly became puzzled over the frame color, size, and whether to use a mat or not. Thankfully, Kim came to the rescue. She was patient, thoughtful, and walked through several options with me without ever making me feel rushed. With her wonderful eye and expertise, we found a frame that fit perfectly, and adding the mat made the poem look so dimensional and lovely. It truly brought the piece to life. I also didn't realize they do custom framing, and that really fills a gap left when our local art store was lost during Covid. It is comforting to know there is still a place where people genuinely care about helping you create something meaningful and beautiful. Thank you, Kim, for making what felt overwhelming into such a warm and lovely experience.

It's the same as any other arts and crafts store, you gotta be at LEAST 2 months early to get the best pick of the batch. Though on the other hand, you can get the super clearance items later on in the holiday season. I liked that there's lots of cute prints for their fabrics and different textures, seeing that most Walmarts don't have this anymore and Joann's is completely decimated. I think my main issues are all of the AI SLOP art that's being sold to those who cannot tell the difference and the fact that there was shoplifting randomly during our visit. Sucks, but yeah, it's mostly the AI slop that sickens me. I couldn't find anything that I needed during my visit, but my friend got some cupcake liners since the ones she ordered online were mini even though the website said nothing about the sizing, so she assumed they were regular sized. They, of course, had no Valentine's Day ones leftover, so she found cute bow ones. For on sale and clearance items, it works!

I also purchased a Green Lantern power battery replica for a very fair price, below the current market value by a fair amount. Even my back issues were heavily discounted and I ended up paying somewhere around $0.50 a book! I left with a huge stack! The employees were all friendly, and knowledgeable, and in something I like seeing in shops like this, seemed to lean on each other to compensate for questions they didn't have answers to. I could spend hours here digging through the bins before ever even shopping the toys.

I collect mostly Transformers figures/comics and it's kinda hard for me to find a shop that gives me a little bit of everything about my favorite franchise. But a while back they had a HUGE selection of IDW Transformers back issues. I went crazy and got a bunch of them whenever I stopped by to pick up the current Skybound run. All the staff is super nice and genuinely super kind! I've had no bad experiences here and they're all super knowledgeable about the things I'm interested in buying. They also provide really good suggestions for me which is great. Overall a great comic book store and nice figure options!
