Type in the discount code before paying for the order. I choose not to do a curb side pick up and decided to walk in. This store was the only Michaels store in my vicinity that had the poster frame size I needed. After reading the reviews on Yelp for this location, I was prepared for the worst online pick up experience. In truth, my experience went well! I arrived on a Friday evening about 30 minutes before closing. The store was busy with a long check out line. To my surprise, my online order was not available in the designated pick up shelf but I could see the large poster frame I ordered behind the cashier counter with my name on it. I took my place in the long line but quite quickly two other associates came to the counter to assist the customers. I was soon given my order and was pleased with the service I received. I could see that the associates were quickly trying to assist the evening crowd and I appreciated their efforts. The frame is perfect and my poster looks superb! There is plenty of parking here too. I also recommend downloading the Micheal's store app; it's so much easier for online pick ups and especially for returns. Enjoy your visit! read more

I pick up my deliveries from HOKA at this location using ups. When I am driving on my way home.. it is just convenient for me.. especially with these loser-porch-pirates... They do ask for ID which is great! Since, ID is required for pickup it must be the actual person because then anybody can say they are picking up your order.. Love Michael's but this store in general absolutely disappoints me. The attitude of the staff is by far the biggest turn down. Twice I have ordered pick up and they've cancelled in item just to go in and find it myself. Once I bought an item and returned it due to the item not functioning. The young lady made me aware that they don't make returns to which i inform her that it's defective and she responds with "with that attitude yes I could get it done." And today there was an uber driver completing an order asked for help and the employee dismissed him and just pointed him to the correct aisle. Mind you this man probably had never been in that section much less this store probably. I as a customer took it upon myself to do the employees job which is to help the man who clearly needed help and was rudely dismissed by staff who are getting paid to provide customer service. read more

Just left this location- Sunday Sept 8th 3:00 pm - Staff was rude! Someone parked in the online pickup parking spot and 2 of the cashiers get on the overhead speaker threatening to have their car towed- then they get off and giggle about it. I was at cashier when these two were so bothered that a customer was parked in the online pickup spot. It's currently 110 degrees out and m sure whoever parked there needed to be in n out. None of the staff was helpful whilst shopping- place looked a mess! Yet 3 people were at the cashier area only one cashier actually working. The other two were too fixated on the parking spots. I wanted to purchase balloons for my son's birthday the next day but unable to do so through the website for same day. I walked into the store at 5:30 and asked a sale associate if I could get my 5 balloons filled. The sale associate told me no it was a 2 hour minimum and they close at 7:00. She said there are signs posted with this information. I asked a second time if they could at least fill 1 balloon and I would be very appreciative. Luckily there was a kind sale associate standing behind and offered to do all 5. The original sale associate proceeded to lecture me how she could not guarantee they could be filled and said the line would come first over my balloon order. As I was paying she lectured me on how there would be 2 receipts printed, one for me and the other for the store. I was making direct eye contact with her and as she provided this unnecessary information and she said "are you ok?". I said "are you ok??" Completely unprofessional and poor customer service. Within 5 minutes, I had my balloons. If there was no other balloon orders, why not accommodate a walk in balloon order request at 5:40pm? Grateful for the kind sales associate that helped out. Had the most wonderful experience at Michael's yesterday in La Habra Shout out to wonderful amazing fantastic Arnold, who helped me with everything from start to finish to create a beautiful and magical dry flower Christmas arrangement for my huge Christmas base. I went in, not knowing how to do any thing, and was lucky to find Arnold right away who came over with me and helped me find all the items and even found another section for me that I did not even know to add to the flower arrangements And then he helped me with all the beautiful ribbon to pull it all together!!! I could not have done it without Arnold thank you thank you thank you, Arnold. Arnold was so incredibly nice and kind so knowledgeable thank you so much My holiday arrangement came out beautiful!!!! read more

I purchased an item at the Whittier location then the following day I wanted to exchange for another item Even Exchange at the La Habra since I was in the area The cashier was super Rude!!! And unprofessional I had my receipt So she called the Supervisor And inspected the item they Said No!!! You need to go back where you originally bought it!!! I said Why if I have my receipt and all I want is to exchange. I asked for her name and said Karen!!! Wow! I said it figured... I don't understand why they didn't take the item back! Thy both were laughing and said to go back to Whittier! I couldn't believe it!!! Other customers were shocked and shaking their heads!!!! I personally have not gone to this michaels, but with all the negative comments regarding short staffing, it is not the stores fault. Staffing is controlled by regional district managers and corp. They give stores do many hours based on the previous weeks sales. Sometimes one employee is expected to the work of two. Believe me. I was a joanns former employee and this happened all the time all while corp. gave themselves retention bonuses and hired more board members and cut our hours where we were expected to work with 2 - 3 people per shift. Customers negativity and entitlement attitude gets you nowhere when staffing is limited. What do you all expect. Than to come in 5 min before closing. Im sure when its time to leave your work, you cannot wait one minute to leave. The later you come in, the harder we have to work on closing shifts. I hope you all think about that everytime you go to any retail store. read more

We went to the store on Saturday and had the worst experience with customer service. First of all the store was vacant. The shelves were empty, and there were no prices on anything. We were looking at a large item and asked a store clerk who was not busy the price of an item we said can you tell us how much this is and she said bluntly no, you have to download the app. Then she proceeded to give us some bullshit story about the tariffs. We stood there for a while finally downloaded the app to see the price and then simply asked. Is this the sale price And she bluntly replied again. Yes it's already marked down. We did buy some things and proceeded to self check out we did not buy the item she wouldn't help us with upon self check out. I am disabled. I was struggling to get a bag off the rack to package. Our items and two Employee stood there and watched me struggle. This was the worst experience we've ever had in Michaels. It's no wonder. Hobby lobby across the street is packed with customers. Michaels has always been a go to after this experience. I don't think we'd go back this young lady that wouldn't help us with the price could've simply taken the item upfront to scan it. The customer service in Michaels lately has been horrible. Sad to say I don't like to complain, but this was above and beyond rude. I work at a college and if we treated students this way, we would lose our job. This young lady needs to learn some customer service skills. I don't wanna see anybody lose their job, but they need to be spoken to or find a job that suits them. This was about 6 PM on Saturday evening at the La Habra Michael store off of imperial Highway the way the store looked. I was denied a return for store credit of unused yarn because I didn't have the receipt and the sale didn't come up on my rewards account, which I rarely remember to put in. The item is clearly sold at their stores!! I explained it was purchased for my pregnant daughter who's now moving to Georgia due to military orders. I am not even shocked at the star rating of this location so let me just sum it up as quickly as possible for you: 1. The staff look miserable with their jobs here 2. When you ask for help, it's worse than asking for someone to help you at Home Depot. Since I needed the items and could not find them in the same store, I purchased them in another store. Returned the items and was told NO REFUND only store credit. I bought "Glitter Blast" spray sealer. When I tried to spray the craft it did not spray glitter. When I went to return it, I was told that since I had "used " it they wouldn't take it back. I asked how would I know that it wasn't going to spray glitter unless I tried it first. She said once it's been used we don't take it back. As you walk into the store finding a staff member for help is like pulling teeth . There's one cashier handling the front while the others are hiding in aisles . I have been a customer for over 15 years and never had that experience until recently. Went in to attend a Ribbon Garland class as advertised "In Store", but was rudely told all classes were online! Then I decided to shop and look for photo organizers. I found plastic boxes with (16) photo 4 x 6 holders , with a sign that said 60% off, no original price anywhere. The boxes rang up for $41.99 full price. I explained there was a sign that said 60% off. The cashier said they were having issues with signs, because they didn't get taken down. Then the manager searched for the sign and couldn't find one. She said there was only 3 people working, her the cashier and the framer. No one could have taken down the sign, she said and practically called me a liar . The manager never asked the framer if she took the sign down. Needless to say, she would not honor the price since there was no sign. Horrible customer service, short staffed and high prices for plastic made in China. I will never go back to this store in La Habra or anywhere. read more

I've had a better experience navigating a foreign country in a language I don't understand. I'm a newbie when it comes to arts and crafts and craft store shopping. I don't get excited when I see a Michael's sale sign. For starters, I'm not a craft person. It's not that I'm not creative or artistic, I just don't have the time or interest to spend hours making "stuff." That being said, it was time to make a poster for my kindergarten son. We were given a theme, but no restrictions. I had an idea after scanning through the Michael's website. Navigating the site was easy. Navigating the store is something entirely different. Big box supply stores like Home Depot or Lowes or Costco follow a logical layout and there's usually an employee walking around who can help you. At Michael's, its a whole other ballgame. I couldn't find anyone on the floor. The layout isn't logical at all. I wanted a small wooden tree. I went to the wood section. It wasn't there. I finally went to the framing department because I couldn't find anyone on the floor. The person there told me that the only tree models they had was in the Halloween section. I told her I wasn't looking for a tree model for a diorama but she didn't understand what I wanted. I then showed her a screen shot from my phone and she told me to go by the paints. I went there and next to the paint section was the wood section. Sigh! So I go to the cashier and then finally find an employee. I show her the screen shot off my phone and she and I both go to the wood section!!! Are you KIDDING ME?!!! Ugh! It wasn't there. She seemed a little shocked then briefly closed her eyes as if walking the store in her mind. After some mental mapping she opens her eyes and exclaims, "it's in the kids section!" So behind some poster boards stuck together on a wall display, we find the item. Sheesh! Having a help counter or an associate regularly floating around would do wonders in this place. The selection, once you find what you're looking for, is great. The prices are on the high side (they had toys there that my 2 year old saw that were about $5.00-$10.00 higher than Walmart or Target), but for what we needed, it was worth the extra price for the convenience of getting everything in one place. I came to shop in the La Habra location earlier today, 11/26/24, between 5 and 5:20 p.m. I've always had good interactions with any Michael's location and the associates. However, I had one of the most uncomfortable encounters with an employee today. I was on the line waiting for the associate, with one busy handling the customer who was in front of me. I wanted to wait, and although I could've, I decided to head over to one of their self-checkouts. Mind you, I just got there and I've barely typed anything; I haven't even filled in my info to register my account. But when the employee (she's got bright red hair) said out loud "next customer in line," I did not hesitate to come to her immediately since 1) I was close to her 2) registering my account would prolong my stay and 3) I had a question about an item I was trying to purchase. By the way, NO ONE was waiting behind me. Greeting her with "Oh great, hi there!" She looks at me, in distraught, saying, "Well, I am talking about the next customer who'll be in line." Oh? She meant the customer who she had to wait for later as she spoke. I'm not sure if she misunderstood, if she thought I tried cutting in line, but I feel that she should've asked nicely then I would've clarified myself. This is one of those situations where I could've spoken up; however, the way she dismissed me was disrespectful and disgraceful! No human decency in sight, She was not mindful, not very demure and I hope she has a better day ahead of her. Kuddos to the older man who had exceptional care for the customers he was assisting! Bought a value pack floral tape and a floral accent online in the morning to have it curbside pick up of course. The convenience of having curbside pick up is very helpful with busy people especially with the moms like me. But unfortunately at this particular store, they just wasted my time. I was waiting in my car, expecting that in seconds my order will be in my hands already because i notified them that i am on the way like 20 minutes away from the store. But unfortunately takes minutes for them before i got the order, i think when i finally hit the "just arrived and put the designated # for curbside pickup/up" that was the only time they literally get my order. When they finally give my order after minutes of waiting I decided to check my order in the bag and next thing you know the order was INCORRECT!!! Then i have to go down at the store for letting them know that the order that was given to me is WRONG and just pick them up at curbside. OMG! I was surprised that the manager is just not apologetic , she is not rude but looks like just she doesn't care. Sounds like: we got you wrong item then we'll get you the right one. It's not that! It is your job to make sure that the customers are getting the correct order, respect the time and the effort on both the customer and the retailers. Doesn't make any sense that we are placing/buying stuff online for the convenience of curbside pick up then we still need to go down at the store because of the incompetence of the employee. I've been shopping here for years for everything from Baking,Crafts, Projects & Parties & Today Thursday January 07,2021 decided to do a review because of a Young worker named 'Janeth'. My husband & I came in because our two little girls have been decorating their room since at home learning for every Holiday. I realized that since everyone is home that decorations are going Fast, So we came in looking for Valentines Decorations that were online but available in store. I had specific items I was looking for & I couldn't find them. We went over to the frame area to ask is Janeth could help us locate the item because it showed online that it was available here at Imperial Hwy La Habra & a tag was up but item was no where to be found. She kindly Stopped what she was doing & asked to see my phone with the information & she looked it up on her device. She walked us to where it should have been & asked us if we could give her a minute to try to find the items because she believed they weren't out of the boxes yet. I assured her that I was in No Hurry at all & knew it may be possible that I wasn't going to be able to have them today. Well she literally was gone for 3 mins & came back with the box of the Valentines Garlands I was searching for, Not only in the color I wanted but two choices (Red or Pink)!!! I was torn between them & said it's for Valentines, Her & my hubby said Red was a great choice. I appreciate her honesty & opinion. Either way she saved me so much time because I was going to either go to another store, come back (which I didn't want to do because of Covid-19 limiting my trips) or Order online & have to wait....She kindly did this with a smile on her face & was friendly... So happy to see this from a young worker. Michaels needs to know that Janeth is a Keeper & that she's a Great Employee! I will continue to come back & feel fine spending my money where employees care about customers needs & are simply Helpful. I always know that the price & coupons are always the best deal around. Very disappointed in this store. I purchased many items, and when I got home one item was missing from my bag. I phoned the store and spoke to a manager. I explained the situation. She stated that it was there and that I could come back for it. I explained that I was already at home and not about to go back to the store that day. She said, okay they would hold it for me at the front. Perfect. Now where I give the 1 star review... so I got an email asking me to review the items I had purchased and review the store. So I did. I gave them a 2 star, which is fair, since they didn't give me all my items and I had to waste my gas and my time, and go back to the store. I explained everything, just as I have here. Today, I get a response to my email review, that they weren't able to post my review because it did not meet their criteria for reviewing and asked me to submit a different review. Unbelievable.... so it would have posted if I gave them a 5 star, but when it's not what they want, they reject it by not posting it. Well, SHARM ON YOU. This review relates to the company as a whole and not to any particular retail Michaels store. After I had made some in-store purchases, Michaels sent me an email request for a review of them (including those I had already returned). I used voice to text to write my review of the item I had retained. I was then unable to view the entire review to proofread it. I had no choice but to submit it with possible errors. I soon received another email asking me to confirm my review. This enabled me to view the entire review, and I did find errors in the transcription, as I had suspected would be the case. Unable to edit the review, I replied to the message explaining how to correct the errors and granting permission to make my modifications and then post the review. I then received another email informing me that the review had been posted. However, I could see that the errors had not been corrected. Furthermore, when I attempted to log into my Michaels account online, I received a message informing me that the account had been locked due to repeated unsuccessful attempts to log in. I had made no such attempts; this had been my first one in months, if not years. I then called Michaels. The rep was able to unlock the account, but then the website rejected my password. She wanted to transfer the call to someone else who would be able to assist me with the correction of the review. By then, of course, I had more than had it. I had lost about an hour of my valuable time (I am an attorney) on a lot of needless foolishness, and she wanted to waste even more of it. Even my warning that I would charge for my time and trash the company on YELP fell on deaf ears. The review still appears with the errors included. I have reclaimed my account but have received no compensation for my time and annoyance. I shall never again offer a review of a Michaels product, and I urge you, my reader, to refuse to do so as well. At least I was able to have my account marked to prevent Michaels from emailing me any more requests for reviews. read more

I feel that Michaels needs a large update inside and out. When you walk inside you feel like you are back in time. I mean this place has a lot of and plenty of great items to buy. I just wished it was more up to date with the times and come up with a great scheme. This place sells lots of things for pretty decent prices and also you can get coupons to get things off. This location is in La Habra and off Imperial Hwy. You won't miss it! The parking is a little bit on the bad side. I don't understand why either! I guess maybe because it is next to an auto center and also Chase Bank. If you haven't stepped foot in here and you don't really need any arts and crafts than you can skip it.
