Everything here is fantastic. The food is delicious and arrived at our table fast. The fried calamari appetizer comes plentiful with a signature dipping sauce which is to die for! Before our trip to NY I bookedmarked several places to eat and Michaels was one of them. I'm thankful I had because it was just before 9:00, we were starving and they were the only place still open on my list. I had the best julienne salad with rolled mozzerella and house dressing. Good food horrible customer service. I will never patronize this business again. The man who I'm assuming was the manager was very disrespectful and unprofessional. I would not recommend this restaurant. I purchased soup from here and when I got home not more than 10 minutes after leaving the restaurant, the soup fell out of the bottom of the bag. I called to inform the manager of what happened and after giving me a little bit of a hassle he finally agreed to give me a replacement soup and stated I could keep the original. Like why would I keep the remainder of soup in the container when it already fell on the ground, not to mention aren't we in the middle of a pandemic (COVID-19)? As evidence that the soup fell through the bag, I returned the previous quart of soup with the torn bag which was only 1/4 full after spilling out. They tried to give me a pint as a replacement and I informed them that I originally purchased a quart. After giving me a replacement of the size I originally purchased the manager states sarcastically "Mam here's your soup in a plastic bag if it falls out of the bag when you leave that's on you". After telling him that I liked the food there but his attitude was not the greatest he replied " Mam I don't have an attitude please just take your soup and leave". Disrespectful and unprofessional to the fullest, especially in a restaurant full of people. My money spends just as good anywhere else and not with the attitude. Planning a trip to Niagara Falls, we were looking for a quick and reasonably priced lunch with atmosphere. We found it at Michael's Italian restaurant just a few miles from the falls. Lunch specials were under ten bucks, and the kid's meal portions were large enough to split between two smaller children. The Italian choices were well done. The homemade sauce was great, and I highly recommend the calzone, which was huge. Service was great, family owned. Definitely worth the drive to Niagara's Little Italy neighborhood. read more

Super fabulous!!! Best Italian there is,puts chains like Olive Garden and Buca Di Beppo to shame. Even the bread was great,super soft and tasty. Not hard like a lot of restaurants. I really love the Loganberry drink,it's really exotic and tasty. I got a beef ravioli.The sauce was super great and the beef was flavorful. I also got a beans and greens soup,which was so warm.it reminded me of Spinach Artichoke dip,which was weird because I don't really eat that stuff! Would definitely say this place is average all around! The best thing we had was the appetizer of fried ravioli. My husband got the famous calzone. It was a rather large portion, but the bread reminded him of a funnel cake. It was on the sweet side. I got the rigatoni with the meatball. It was okay. It may not seem like much but the real ones definitely know the importance of "Michael's" chef salad. This is a staple of the restaurant and is essential for anyone that goes there to order this. As far as your entrée, you really can't go wrong. Pretty typical Italian cuisine with great service. A strictly female waitressing staff adds to the vibe it has. Besides, who wants some guy serving them gnocchi. Not quite five stars only due to the small size of the restaurant. If there was a 4.5 option that's what it would be. Great place. read more

I love this restaurant. My parents went here when they were dating, I went as a child, and have taken my own children who are now adults here. I moved out of the area - as part of the area's brain drain - a little over 13 years ago. When I visit the area i always insist on eating here. The beauty of the place is that it never changes which is the way that it should be. All of the food is delicious. I always want to order everything on the menu because everything is so good. Their pizza has the taste of really good homemade pizza rather than a pizza assembly line. I love eggplant parmigiana and theirs is perfect. I could go on & on about each and every menu item but I'm sure that you get the picture. ALL of the servers are fantastic - young & old. In fact, I have always been impressed with the teenagers that work there. They are exceptionally friendly and are good at what they do. Who cares if it is crowded and has plastic tablecloths and menus? It's part of the wonderful history and memories that go with this place. When people tell me that they are going to Niagara Falls, I give them directions to Michael's. They always call me and thank me. Please never change a thing or ever close this restaurant. It needs to be declared a Niagara Falls landmark. read more

Just thinking about a calzone from Michael's makes me quiver with delight!! It will feed two or three people, depending on their appetites or give one person at least two meals! Their sauce is yummy and their gnocchi is delicious! The downsides to Michael's are parking and seating. I am absolutely disgusted with this place after my future mother-in-law called the restaurant to double check that they had plain, tomato sauce (vegetarian). I'm new to the area and one night my boyfriend and I decided to carb out on pasta. He highly recommended Michael's so off we went. I'm a vegan and have been for 5 and a half years and am always very careful to double check ingredients in food, as well as making the staff aware of my dietary restriction. I decided to get rigatoni with plain tomato sauce. I told the waitress I was a vegan and asked if the pasta had egg in it and double checked that the sauce had no meat or dairy products in it. She said no but she would double check anyway. Who knows if she actually did or not but she came back and told us everything was safe so that's what I got. So today my boyfriend and his family decide to go back for lunch, however I'm busy with work so I decided to stay home but asked to bring me back the same dish. He comes home with the news that the OWNER told them that ALL their sauce is made with meat. ARE YOU F***ING KIDDING ME? Do they understand how seriously they need to take allergies and dietary restrictions. Do they not train their staff? I am in the restaurant industry and this topic tops all. They're lucky I don't sue them. How dare you not train your staff about the ingredients in your food or how to go about accommodating guests who can't or won't order what would be easiest for you. If there is one thing I hate when dining out, it's being rushed. I called this place at 7:45 and asked what time they are open till. They said 10:00. Wanted a veal cutlet and potato but was lead to believe I could only get pasta and soup with it, no potato. When I asked if I could get the potato instead of soup, the waitress asked if I wanted the soup too. As to not make a scene I simply went along with her but without reason to believe I wasn't still getting a potato. Soup came out, dinner came out with the pasta but no potato. Asked the waitress where it was. She looked confused so I was easy with her about it and she told me I could have fries or mash. I got the mash... Long story short; there's an option on the menu for potato or veggies to get with the veal. I was scammed into ordering food I didn't want and paid close to ten dollars more for being nice. Much love I have for this restaurant. I used to live in the falls and came here frequently. I got the chance to visit in May and Michael's was the one Italian stop on the food tour.
