Such a good authentic Mexican food! We come here at least once a month. I usually have their Cadillac Margarita which is amazing. I had Paloma since it was lunch. It was fresh, refreshing and quite strong. Shrimp fajitas were sizzling and delicious, their chicken and stake ones are even better. The decor makes you feel you are in Mexico. Great place!
Came here for drinks with friends and really enjoyed myself. My friends and I wanted to catch drinks before heading to another spot so we thankfully found the spot on Yelp and headed over. Micheladas Mex Grill is located in a shopping area. Parking could be tricky but it's definitely worth finding parking to try this restaurant. We sat at the bar and were given a menu of lots of drink options. Service was great and we had a great time having conversations with staff. I ordered the margarita while my friend ordered a beer. I wish we had more time to try the food! Ambiance was amazing and it was so much fun inside. Lively and people kept coming in. I'll definitely be back!
I was in the mood to try a new Mexican restaurant that was not too much of a drive. Micheladas Mexican Grill, in Nortridge, had come up before, but not being a fan of Micheladas, I never paid much attention. This time though, I decided to give it a go. It is located in a strip mall on Reseda, that is well known for several eateries and businesses. Because of this, and its popularity, parking is a constant nightmare. Major car gridlock, unhappy visitors. I was lucky to find a parking spot pretty soon without pulling out my hair and having to play musical cars several times. The inside of the restaurant, though small, is beautifully decorated with Mexican crafts, paintings, artifacts and vibrant colors. The music takes you to the wonderful country and what I liked most was, that it was not too loud. Just done right. The menu is extensive, and yes, there is much more than micheladas. There are numerous menu items in all the major food categories and more. An enticing drinks menu is also available. The complimentary chips, with the regular salsa and the by request, habanero, were well prepared. I ordered the one item combo plate and chose the beef tamale, with only beans. The flat long rectangle tamale was presented sitting on the husk and bathed in a red sauce. It was different, not encapsulated, all good. Service, the several staff, was timely, respectful and always attentive. This was a good find. Must come back to try more from the menu.
Great local spot! Parking was easy in the shopping plaza. The restaurant was clean, baby-friendly, and the staff was very friendly. Service was fast and the food was delicious. The menu is huge with lots of options. I ordered the shrimp tacos, very generous portions and they came with rice and beans. My husband got the California burrito, which was also a big portion and came with really tasty rice and beans. The chips and salsa were excellent, honestly some of the best salsa I've had. Very fresh and smooth, and not loaded with big chunks of onion (which we really appreciated). We've ordered takeout from here before, but this was our first time dining in and we'll definitely be back!
Located in the back corner of a large multiple businesses plaza. Many parking spaces, mostly taken, yet managed to find parking right in front of the restaurant. They have a fully stock bar, TVs but unsure if they are closed caption. The music was a little louder than normal, but we were still able to carry a conversation without yelling. The service was good. 1 waitress during lunch hour. She kept insisting if we wanted to order any appetizers. We did have to ask multiple times for refills which she kept saying, I'll be right back. I ordered off the lunch special menu - 2 item combo (1 crispy chicken taco, 1 chicken enchilada with rice and beans. I must say that the beans were delicious, tasted fresh from the pot. Overall, I will return.
I would give this place 3.5 stars if Yelp allowed but bumped it up to 4 stars because the service was very nice. Came for Happy Hour. The Food- Asada Fries with Carnitas- This was my favorite. Nachos with Shredded Beef- This was good. Drinks- Watermelon Margarita and Raspberry Margarita- Both were decent but I would have liked them to have more of the fruit flavor. They have a pretty nice outdoor patio area to sit in when the weather is nice. Parking can be challenging as they share a lot with many other businesses.
There's everything to love about this place. The portions are huge. The food is very good & reasonably priced. They have great happy hour. The service is fantastic. Everyone who works here is very nice, attentive, and they always have a smile on their face. It's located in a popular strip mall so parking can be tight depending on the time of the day.
food was nothing special, but filling with the portions! and, thank u for the offjump nacho chips and salsa, especially for the staff to be so on-top-of-it with refills. i think that the staff was the best part of this restaurant because they were always smiling and did not make us feel bad when we raised our hands for requests (e.g. water refills, to-go box, etc). they did not disturb conversation, but still did their consistent rounding to clean up our plates. food also came out pretty quick, so much thanks to the kitchen for getting on our orders asap. I like that the tables have booths because I prefer them over chairs. Parking is easy because they have their own lot. a bit dim, yes, but it is okay because at least the staff was kind enough to break down the menus for us and answer with clarifications :)
I'll go straight to the point about this restaurant. This place is amazing!! From the food, the place, the staff, service and prices. We came 2 days ago as recommended by a friend and it didn't disappoint. First of all the place,, place is very cozzy and very clean. Staff were really attentive and very friendly and very nice. Their service is top notch. The food is very authentic in my opinion. My wife doesn't like mexican but on that day she forgot about it! lol! We ordered the steak and shrimp. Steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The meat is very tender. Shrimp was cooked to perfection. Their rice and beans were very good too. We also ordered the 3 street taco combo and asada quesadilla and they were excellent. Their nachos and salsa are very addictive. That salsa was fantastic. Portions are really big. The tacos were overflowing with meat. The asada, pastor and chicken were equally good. We also ordered the fried ice cream and banana,,, man that was irresistable! Their prices are very competitve compared to some mexican resto or cantina I've been to. We are so happy that we tried this place and for sure will be coming back and bring friends on their happy hour. Hats off to the crew and especially the chef! 5 stars all the way!
I am starting off with I have never been so disappointed in a Mexican restaurant. The food was absolutely disgusting. Me and my husband both got the same burrito, but I got the steak and he got the chicken. I took one bite of the burrito and had to spit it out. It taste like the steak was cooked in sewer water. Our waitress never came to our table never even checked in on us. We sat there for an hour waiting for them to just give us a checked. And there was not much people in there so it shouldn't have took her this long to give us the check. The environment I would say was mediocre. The parking lot sucked to park. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.
Food: 3.5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 What a cute spot! Talk about vibrant and lively! Micheladas is exactly that. The moment you walk in you're met with beautiful colors, artwork, and my favorite little frogs ranitas. We've been to the restaurant twice and that's always a good sign- when you want to return. On both occasions we were greeted and seated quickly. This last visit, we went in around 6:30 pm and the restaurant was quite empty. We were seated and offered fresh chips and house salsa- which actually has picante and a kick! It's delicious. We placed our order: chicken nachos, taco platter, steak quesadilla and a chicken quesadilla, and a la carte enchiladas. My only complaint is the refried beans are cooked in pork fat which I'm sad about because I love refried beans. Most places have a vegetarian option, but here they have cooked beans not refried beans as vegetarian. The beans are good but not the same. Unfortunately, on our first visit we were not told that, despite asking (as you'll see pictures from our first visit)- which is unfortunate. Might be helpful to have them in the menu. The food is okay and the portions are decent. It was our first time ordering the enchiladas and they were good but the sauces- one green sauce and one chipotle sauce- were a bit heavy. The quesadillas are good, however there was a lot of the tortillas edges not covered in cheese or meat- maybe need to distribute better. The tacos were tasty. The rice was standard. Overall, the food is good. You'll definitely enjoy it and leave full. Honestly, I love the place for the art and chips and salsa. You won't be disappointed in the food either. Today, i tried this place out. Once walking in, it is pretty spacious. The decor is very pretty inside. We had a very attentive waitress as well. When we sat down, we had lots of options on the menu to choose from. I decided to order the torta, and they got a fajita combo. The torta bread was pretty hard, and the meat was dry, but my bf fajitas were really good. I think if i go back, I'll stick to my fajitas. read more

Great food, good prices, large portions! We were a group of 3 and decided to share the appetizer sampler. Honestly it wasn't very good. The nachos were super dry, the quesadillas were extremely basic, wings were ok and the taquitos were also dry. We also shared the molcajete. Now that was DELICIOUS. We opted to not add shrimp; and good thing because this comes with so much food! It had steak, chicken, carnitas, chorizo, nopales, queso, and veggies. Not only that but it's also accompanied by rice, beans, guacamole, and pico. Everything was tender, flavorful and very juicy. This couldn't go without drinks and we ordered the Mexican candy margaritas; very tasty but mild on the liquor. Our friend ordered a Hennessy and coke and that was very strong according to her. Our waitress Alma was really nice and attentive. They were a little busy so some things took a little while to arrive but overall good service. I'm definitely going back for another molcajete! P.S If you order a Hennessy and coke the system will "accidentally" ring it up as a double. So if you don't order a double and don't want to pay $20 (!!!!!) for a cocktail check your bill read more

The food is pretty good. I really enjoyed the enchiladas tres marias. The pricing is reasonable too. The staff is really friendly, but can be a bit slow. This is also a great place to go for happy hour. Excellent deals and drinks. read more

second visit and the food was delicious. we opted out from having the bean dip this time but had their asada fries and flautas. the flautas were delicious! perf4ect crispy and soft on the inside. services was a bit off but i think that was because there was only one server. mind way through our drink order new customers arrived and she was so distracted. still very nicely decorated. read more
I've been here twice and both times have been great. The staff has always been friendly and attentive. Both times I've taken advantage of their Happy Hour menu. Happy Hour is from M-F 11am-7pm. I don't know of any restaurant that starts their HH so early. This includes food and drinks. The house margarita is $6 and a lot of their dishes are $6-$9. Their complimentary chips and salsa is pretty good. Their chips taste like it's fried fresh in the back. The restaurant is not the biggest. read more

LOVED it! Everything was so tasty! We ordered carne asada nachos, shrimp tacos, octopus taco, and the 3 item combo. Oh and the margaritas/piña colada so good!! A crazy good Mexican food in Northridge?! Unheard of!!!! Wow I'm so glad this place wasn't open when I was in CSUN, otherwise I would have eaten here all day everyday for sure! Every time I'm here I try a different dish. They have an extensive menu and it just makes my tummy so happy. So far I haven't been disappointed yet hehe and my food adventure continues! Service is very friendly and quick! They always greet you with a smile and it's just pure Mexican hospitality at the highest level. The ambiance will bring you back to Mexico with the Mexican music and decor. Also, their restrooms are always clean -- truly impressive with the amount of customers they have everyday! Had a great dinner here on Thursday. Food was great and service was spot on. Prices are also decent. The complimentary chips and salsa were great. I especially liked the chips, they were thicker than the chips served in other places. I got the enchiladas tres marias and it was a great choice! Portion was good and all the contents were delicious. Food was served on a hot dish which I appreciated. Baja shrimp tacos were good too. The outdoor seating was perfect for dinner. Wasn't hot at all and the cool breeze was nice. Despite sitting outdoors, our waiters didn't leave us unattended. Made sure to check if we needed anything after we got our meals. Samantha was great (believe that's her name printed on the receipt?) and the other waiter was attentive as well. Excellent service :) Only thing I wish they'd work on are their take out boxes. A paper based box would be much better than styrofoam. Parking lot was nearly full but did find a spot. Can take a lil bit to find parking at peak hours. Overall, thanks to the excellent service and great food, I had a great dinner at Micheladas. I'll be returning! read more

I think about Micheladas Mex at least 3 times a week.. not proud but it's that Delicious. My favorite thing ever is the Suiza cream sauce enchiladas (highly recommend) Every bite is so DELICIOUS. They have such a big menu full of good options and a really good lunch special! I personally recommend the house tequila shots and their flan for dessert! read more

Me and the homies came here after a good shift. luckily it wasn't packed. two other friends recommended this place and were glad we went. not gonna lie, we were a little loud because we were a bigger group (not all of us were pictured, we have 4 other people not in the photo) and the drinks were HITTING, soo, thankfully, the servers were so nice and helpful and attentive. food was like 8/10? some a little too spicy but that's more a personal preference! Very cute decor and lots of space for groups if you have a bunch of people. Outdoor seating as well, but no dogs allowed on the patio. Servers were very attentive and brought lots of fresh chips and salsa plus water refills. I ordered the veggie burrito and it was excellent. Only complaints: we went on a Sunday around noon and our meal took quite a long time to come out (I'd say 45 minutes or more). Beer selection is pretty basic for a place that said it's a beer bar. Parking is pretty difficult. Overall, delicious and friendly place with cute atmosphere. read more

My friend and I came here to give this place a try. Parking was really difficult to find since it is in a center with popular places. The servers were very nice and helpful but the food was sub par. I got the enchilada plate and my friend got the fajitas. She and I both thought they were "Just OK". We also got micheladas since they claim they have great ones. Those were also Just okay. The chips and salsa that came with the meal weren't bad but then again how hard is it to mess those up? If a group wanted to come back here again, I might try it again but I would not return with anyone I loved. read more
