    Cubano Sandwich

Waited 30 minutes without service, not even water, and this on a concert night! The pomodoro flatbread we eventually got was tasteless. What was supposed to be a Cubano pulled pork sandwich was sliced ham with a few strings of sad pork wedged in on the side. After a few bites to stave off hunger, we left. Won't be back until the new management shapes things up.

Atmosphere: fairly classy, modern, quiet, small restaurant in a campus building. Service: poor. This is what significantly drops the rating for this restaurant. Although the food is good, the hostess (an older lady) was very disrespectful because we were students. She didn't treat us nearly the same way she greeted other customers who were older. Server was slow and seemed to not know what he was doing. There was some miscommunication with our to go orders as well. As a server, I was pretty baffled by the way the hostess greeted us, beginning with "we're really busy today (there were MAYBE 4 seated tables), I suggest making reservations".... I expected a little more respect from a more upscale restaurant on a college campus. Food: limited menu. Very confusing though because my friend and I received two different menus. Food came out pretty late. Quality was great though. Portion size is good too. I had the veggie black bean burger which one of the best veggie burgers I've had in my life. The second time around I had the shrooben which is mushrooms and some sort of pickled radish on Rueben). The shrooben was great as well. Although, they put too much sauce on it. My friend got the flatbread (cheese pizza with ham on it?) very greasy. Price: reasonable. Not cheap. Not expensive. Something you'd expect when you first enter the restaurant.

Came here for a pre-Cleveland Orchestra show dinner around 5:45PM. We had reservations which made seating pretty quick. We were starving and wanted to make sure that we could get to our show a little early, so we were glad we could get seated right away. We waited, and waited, and waited, but no one came to take our order. We weren't even sure who our waiter was so couldn't try to grab anyone's attention. Finally someone came and took our drink order. I got the Westsider and my boyfriend got the Whiskey Island. Then we waited some more.....no bread service, no drinks. Our drinks finally came out, the waiter asked if we wanted bread (YES!!) and then he took our food order. Food: The Westsider drink was tasty and very citrus heavy- pretty good but a little too sweet for me. The Whiskey Island cocktail was a perfect blend of sweet and bitter. We ordered a calamari app to share. It was cooked really well but I think it could have done without the slices of carrots in it. Mayo sauce was bomb. I ordered the farmhouse burger with side salad for my entree. It was tender, full of flavor and a perfect portion, not too intimidating but definitely filling. Loved the half melted slice of gouda and mayo sauce on it! My boyfriend ordered the hot chicken sandwich which was also very tasty and perfectly portioned. Medium hot-ness level which was balanced by the coleslaw on the sandwich. Shoestring fries are not my favorite but my boyfriend liked them. Overall the food and drinks tasted great and were reasonably priced. The service was what really ruined our experience. I have a pretty high tolerance for service- if the food is excellent, I can forgive mediocre service. But here, we really felt neglected. No one came to ask us if we needed anything else and it took forever to order. There was a lady who was walking around and asking other diners how they were doing but just walked passed us even when she saw we had no bread and hadn't ordered. It was convenient location for a dinner before the Orchestra show, but I would not recommend or return.

The menu does not have a variety of choices to choose from but the flatbreads caught my eye immediately. I had ordered the Cuban without pickles and it was definitely tasty. However, the meat was a little tough and the flatbread was a little cold.

Great restaurant on Case Western Campus. Menu changes every three months. Thoroughly enjoyed the fried Brussels Sprouts! Also the blacked shrimp Po-Boy was excellent too!

Their lunch isn't anything spectacular and they're never open at reasonable hours. They close at 5 pm on weekdays, which is silly because that's basically the dinner service hour. It's not inconvenient to go to, but this restaurant is empty about 70% of the time because the food is mediocre for its price point. The restaurant has open glass windows... but the windows face a spirit wall that college kids paint on to advertise events. It's not pretty. Meanwhile the other side of the building faces an open grass meadow. Clearly a misstep when the university planned the location of this restaurant. The service is its shining point. They will bring you bread basket after bread basket. The wait staff clearly knows their menu well and is good at refilling water cups. The restaurant is clean, and shiny. The wait staff is the only saving grace. Their food takes a while to prep because there really isn't that much staff to begin with. Their pizza is like upscale bar pizza, and that's the same for their tacos. It's not worth coming here for lunch. Then again, their dinner is pretty mediocre too. Their potatoes are too salty and their root vegetables come out a bit overcooked. They nail their proteins, but the supporting acts are a hit or a miss. Considering that lunch averages around $25 per person and dinner averages at around $40, I would recommend choosing a nicer restaurant... one with better hours and better food and isn't on a college campus.

Perfect scallops and the Bellflower Basil.

All flash, not much substance. Poorly trained staff, mediocre food, adjacent tables not bussed, over cooked and unremarkable burger.

Put simply. Great service, 5 star food for half the price. Good wine selection. Great place to go on a date.

I wanted to visit this venue for the longest time. I finally stopped in for the Cleveland Vintage Market hosted by the Cleveland Vibes. Ambiance: The space is huge - over 11,000 square feet of open space. There are remnants of Tenk Machine & Tool outside - a little mural. There is one ballrooms and separate rooms to the back of the event space. The vibes are industrial sophistication - gorgeous exposed brick walls, wood details, and abundant natural lighting. I can absolutely envision a wedding here with juxtaposition of delicate and rough. I love exposed brick walls, so for me the venue was just perfect. It was also just right for the Cleveland Vintage Market. It fit in plenty of vendors and attendees with still sufficient room to roam. Marigold Catering: There were sandwiches and cinnamon rolls for sale during the event offered by Marigold. I did not try either. I really enjoyed Marigold catered food at other events I've historically attended at other venues around the city. Service: I interacted with the security staff at this venue. They were so friendly and great at directing the foot traffic. Parking: Parking is available at a surface lot next door owned by Marigold. If you're up for a show walk, Nautica Pavilion is also a good parking choice. Ubering to this destination is pretty easy, GPS shows an accurate location. I look forward to visiting Tenk West Bank again! I hope that the venue hosts other events soon so that I can come back!

The mayor of Cleveland often hosts breakfast and lunch meetings or gatherings at the Union Club. Private events and weddings are held here and there is even a hotel inside for visitors to stay. I've been attending events at the Union Club for over a year now and a half now (since Sept. 2024). I attend these events through the CCWA speaker events. Many great speakers have come to the Union Club to speak on global topics. The dinner served at the private speaker events that I've attended is always delicious. Normally there is a starting dish such as a salad, then a main course such as salmon, beef, or steak along with a side, and the meal ends with a dessert. The building is old but it has been well kept over the years. It does get cold inside sometimes so perhaps the old nature of the building is an issue with heating but I am not 100% sure. The chandeliers in some of the rooms are beautiful with intricate details. The great reading room is quiet and serene with plenty of comfortable seating. Their membership cost is high and is thus only for those who know they will utilize everything that the Union Club has to offer such as member events, the gym, etc. I am not a member but I enjoy attending CCWA events here and I can't wait to return again soon. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 47/250 total reviews in 2026 - 888 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 24 April 2026
