Outstanding sourdough boulles and honest baguettes. Bought the odd croissant here and there, and they were quite decent. Only complaint is that even if you order and prepay online, you still have to wait, and that wait can be considerable in the mornings read more

I was excited to try this new French Bakery in Somerville, so I rushed in the morning of a Wednesday around 8:30am. It was the opening time, and the staff was helpful and friendly. I waited an additional 5 min to get warm chocolate croissant that were baked in the oven. So i started with an iced coffee which taste great, a real espresso strong taste in it. Then i had a Rhubarb raspberry tarte, very delicate & delicious taste with pistachio and rosemary, and finally the warm chocolate croissant, so good that it reminded me of the ones i used to eat in my hometown in France! Finally made it to Michette at 9:15 on a Saturday and they were already sold out of their first bake! Sadly I didn't get to try the canele, and the vegan toasted oat cookie was disappointing and underwhelming (it was supposed to be filled with praline and orange marmalade, but maybe they forgot in this batch because there was zero orange flavor and hazelnut praline was just on top which wiped off on the inside of the bag). I really liked the rosemary potato gruyere focaccia, and basque cheesecake, and the baguette was maybe the best I've had in Boston! The cold brew was just ok, but they had interesting latte flavor options (just wish they had Oatly). read more

I bought the chorizo Gruyère croissant and pistachio chocolate croissant. It was everything a croissant should be - so flakey and light and buttery. They don't skimp on the fillings either so good and savory. I couldn't even get a picture of the chorizo croissant because I ate it so fast. The barista was very friendly too. It's a small neighborhood bakery so don't plan on sitting inside as space is limited/not a wifi telework spot . BUT OH SO WORTH THE STOP! read more

Amazing food and drinks. In my group we got a chocolate pistachio croissant, a guava cheese pastry, banana bread, a baguette, iced tea, and an iced London fog. The drinks were good, but the food was out of this world, especially the croissant and guava pastries. The baguette was one of the best I've had in this area, and I would absolutely go back. They were very welcoming and were kind enough to explain what was in many of the pastries. One thing we didn't realize from reviews is there's no place to sit inside, but there's a park close by so if the weather is nice it's a great picnic. read more

I love how the French pastries look at the counter, but I have been disappointed a number of times over the last several months so I will give them a 3.5 star rating. I truly hope the owner examines the quality to make improvements. The flaky croissants, and there are a variety of them that use the same/similar dough, all have the same issue - a center that feels undercooked, soggy and very greasy. I have tried the plain croissant, the pain au chocolat, and the ham and cheese croissant. They all have the same issue. I really wonder why the owner isn't doing any quality control given that it feels like that it aspires to be a good French bakery. There are several places in Boston that do a better job, and it's very disappointing that Michette has not made any improvements on this for so many months since its opening. The ham and cheese sandwich was very good, and so was the pistachio cheesecake. The buckwheat cookie though, was just okay. It was way too sweet and it taste way too one-dimensional because the sweetness was overpowering. read more

This place has been on my places to try for over a year now, it was so disappointing I came in early to make sure Ii get everything fresh, croissants had zero crunch whatsoever, all bready, I literally squeezed them and not one flake, flavor also not great. We've been ordering goodies from Thomas at Michette since last fall before their brick and mortar finally opened this spring. Their chocolate chip cookies are the best we've had-- crispy on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside, with just the right amount of sea salt and so much butter that I get slight notes of toffee. But these days, since the brick and mortar opened, we are all about the croissants! So flaky, chewy, and buttery. The type they'll have out seems to change based on the day (and maybe even time of day), but all of the croissants we've had: plain, chocolate (probably my favorite), and dark chocolate pistachio (my husband deemed it the best thing he's eaten in recent memory) have all been stellar. I would definitely recommend gettting there in the first hour or so of opening though -- the pastries are always the most delicious the sooner out of the oven. read more

I really wanted to like this place but they have a ton of work to do. They made several mistakes on my online orders. Every time I go in, whether ordering online or walking, the wait is always really really long. Their baked goods range from amazing to " why did I just pay $10 for this?". The prices for small coffee are also pretty expensive. They are a new business and I hope they do well and make adjustments. I gave them a few shots before I wrote this review. read more

Wonderful new small bakery in Somerville. Another one of those were the line out the door caught my eye. Things sell fast and slowly come out the ovens so either arrive early or make do with the limited options. Thankfully they had plenty of chocolate croissants when I got there. They were the real deal, flaky, and very fresh. I also bough some canelé which were also great. Will try more goodies the next time I'm in the neighborhood. read more

The baked goods are very good and I would highly recommend them, in particular the chocolate croissant, sourdough, raisin croissant and cinnamon bun. However, I will not be returning here ever again. On a Friday morning (holiday week between Christmas and New Years), it was not crowded but the server was disdainful and mean. Granted I am a middle aged woman of color with a kid and do not fit the white hipster profile of the server, I see no reason to receive such sub par service as a paying customer. He purposefully looked away while handing me my bag and appeared to be greatly inconvenienced to serve me. He was also annoyed that I asked for one more pastry to be added to my order. I felt unwelcome and ignored. If you're not a young white hipster, stay away. I drove here from Cambridge and will never return. read more

I had a ham and cheese sandwich and a coffee from here for lunch. Basic enough, but they get the little things right that elevate the sandwich. The ham is fresh, the cheese is sharp and flavorful, and the mustard is punchy. The coffee is tasty as well, much better than I expected. Overall a great lunch spot. read more

The pain au chocolat is my children's favorite, but I also enjoy trying all the different pastries they have day to day. There is no seating inside, but there are two benches right out front. I was thrilled to discover a French bakery on Broadway, Somerville and it has quickly become my favorite place for a morning coffee and amazing treats. Their chocolate croissants, peach croissants with vanilla cream, cardamom buns and oat milk lattes are my favorite. I like that they rotate their menu, offering new and delicious pastries each day. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They don't have any seating indoors yet but a couple benches outside where you can sit and enjoy your treats. Highly recommend this place! read more
