This is a lovely place to eat. I wish there was room in their booths, which are tall and seem like a little hideaway. Everything is fresh, and I really took advantage to eat salmon--my favorite. The surprising dish was a crab roll with thin slices of lemon. It added another layer of zest and tartness you don't normally see at a sushi restaurant. change of heart - found myself ordering from here again because of all the captivating menu items that they feature that most japanese/sushi restaurants dont. this, alongside of the high grade ingredients seem to justify the higher prices for me. not only have they redeemed themselves in my mind from the last time i tried it out, but they did a great job with following my order notes to request less rice for the roll. im sure dining in is a much better experience for the freshest results - and especially due to the fact that not all items that are available for dine-in are available for delivery. however, i think this was a carefully thought out decision for the establishment since it is clear that the unavailability of these items stems from the fact that the quality of the dish would be compromised. (thanks for looking out for us!) i think it says a-lot when a restaurant does not want to put out a product that they are not 100% confident with. it makes me feel like they really take pride in their food. this restaurant is now favorited on my delivery app! looking forward to dining in at some point to support this local business! read more

Found our new sushi spot! We just moved here from Hawaii and were worried about finding somewhere that matched the quality. Our worries were put to rest today! We were greeted by a very friendly waitress and promptly seated. She even brought a small plastic plate and utensils for our toddler. We ordered the tempura app, a spicy tuna roll, a yummy yummy roll, and the spicy beef ramen. Everything was absolutely delicious! I can't wait to return and try more items off the menu. I'm really on the fence between a 3 and 4 on this review. The quality of the ingredients is above average and the amount of fish to rice in the rolls is much better than discount sushi restaurants. But there is something off for me on the atmosphere, the service was fast attentive so it's not that, it just isn't quite right yet. The price is fairly high, so maybe they could improve by just automatically bringing a small edamame to the table or including a little cucumber salad. Something needs to change to make the price per dish worth the experience or they aren't going to make it. Give it a try and see what you think? read more

I made an impulsive stop here after the gym and I do not regret it one bit! We came on a Saturday with a group of four and it didn't seem too busy. Ambiance was nice. I love the decor here with all the lights on the ceiling and the little booths. My husband and I ordered the spicy ramen and hibachi yakisoba for my toddler. They said their high chairs were broken but they had booster seats that attach to their chairs. They also had toddler chopsticks and bowls so that was nice. The ramen was really delicious and not too salty. Unfortunately they forgot the yakisoba until we were almost done eating so my toddler had to wait for them to make it once we bought it to their attention. They did apologize. The yakisoba was okay. My friend and I stopped by MiChi Japan for lunch about a week after they opened. The decor and ambiance blew me away as soon as I walked in the door. The tableware was all beautiful as well. Our service was prompt and everyone greeted us warmly. The chef was kind enough to send over a complimentary dish before our meal. I believe it was tempura imitation crab, and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the sushi bento box. The fish all seemed to be very good quality and there was plenty of rice. I enjoyed the miso soup as well. My only complaint would be that the rice was a bit dry and the prices were higher than expected. I got the Tokyo Don which had sweet shrimp, salmon, tuna, and yellow tail sashimi over rice. We also ordered some appetizers such as the seared salmon and agadashi tofu. So I realize it's probably some kind of perfidy to review a sushi restaurant based on the California roll, and I hope no one is offended, but I feel like it encompasses the style here really well in a way that leaves an impression. Do you see how much crab is stuffed in this thing? How perfectly thin the rice layer is in comparison? Exactly the right size? Not a grain of rice out of place? I'm talking about a California roll like it's art and that's kind of weird but it really is. To pay attention to the detail in something as "lowly" as a California roll is rare and it really stood out to me. They have all the fancy nigiris here too but I forgot to take a photo. Went to MiChi for lunch on a Saturday. I got the lunch special bento chashu pork and it was pretty good. I found the rice to be a bit dry and the gyoza was a bit plain but everything else was good. The sushi was great, miso was great, the chef made us a complimentary small item to start which I think was deep fried imitation crab and that was excellent. Everyone was super nice. I'd say the ambiance is the best part here, the booths and sushi bar are a nice wood and all the dishes were really cool ceramic. We were happy to hear another Ramen/Sushi place opened up near us, only 4 minutes away. The Ramen shop here has a very inviting environment and lovely decor; definetly a 5/5 on that. Decided to order 2 pieces of Salmon Nigiri and Spicy Ramen. The Salmon was delicious and the Ramen was okay, nothing to go crazy about. It was a very quick eat and go meal and service was standard. Wow! Easily the best restaurant in the area if they keep up this level of quality. The decor, service, food; everything was top notch. My mom has celiac so gluten is a no go. When we arrived we asked if they had gluten-free soy sauce, to which they said no. However before our order was ready, someone from their staff went to Whole Foods and purchased some and brought it to us! This was lovely as my mom sometimes feels excluded from dining establishments because they don't carry simple gluten-free replacements such as these. We got the sushi, and there is a FULL menu of items here that I would like to try still. They offer ramen, some sort of chicken dish with noodles or fried rice, and a whole ton of variety on sushi. We stuck to the Classic Rolls section as that seemed the safer price value, however after seeing some of the House Rolls passing by to other tables. Even though the House Rolls were almost twice the price, it seems we could have easily gotten some of those as they had 14ish pieces on them and the Classic Rolls had 8 each. But after 3 plates (California rolls, Salmon Skin, and Alaska rolls) we were full. For 30ish dollars it seems like a really good value for really good food. Their menu could be a little more detailed on what you are getting in terms of pieces of sushi, and some of the prices are pretty intimidating. But I will defiantly be back to try to work out how to order best at this new awesome Japanese spot. read more

I came here on a Friday night with my boyfriend. The restaurant was pretty dead. They have a kiosk to place to go orders which I found very convenient. Service was quick and friendly. The servers checked on us frequently. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen while my boyfriend got spicy ramen. We also got takoyaki which I found overpriced for the amount they gave...(4 tiny pieces) The ramen was okay. Average in my opinion. I've definitely had better. The egg was good. The broth just felt so oily/greasy to me which kinda grossed me out. Would I come back? Maybe, but try something different. Side note: We're in the middle of December and the restaurant felt like they had their AC on. It was freezing! I tried taking off my jacket but I was shivering. And the ramen did not warm us up enough to be comfortable. Not sure if the AC was on or if they just didn't turn on the heater, but it felt like a freezer. But the smaller you go, the better you need to execute, and this just wasn't there. $12 for 6pc Negitoro Maki that was quite bland and tasteless. Another hidden gem in Tigard! Michi sushi and ramen did not disappoint when my daughter and I had lunch on a sunny Monday afternoon. There weren't too many patrons so we were able to sit in a booth. The interiors are clean, modern with a really cool aesthetic with generous amounts slatted woods and fairy lights above. I ordered the Shoyu ramen and my daughter ordered the chicken katsu bento. Miso soup arrived hot, with lots of seaweed and tofu. The bento arrived shortly after. The gyoza was super crisp on the outside but tender and flavor filled on the inside. The California roll was consistent, a little on the small side but equally delicious. The rice portion was hefty and the chicken katsu cooked perfectly with a really nice crunchy bite. I asked for more ginger as there wasn't enough on the plate :) The shoyu arrived steaming hot with a side of tempura (shrimp, broccoli, bean and sweet potato). The price for the ramen and tempura for lunch is really good! I especially liked both the katsu and tempura dipping sauces - both were robust in flavor! The staff was super attentive and pleasant. We loved this place when it opened. Unfortunately, it's gone through so many chef and server changes, that it just hasn't been consistently good. We've been a number of times and sometimes it's exceptional and other times it's disappointing. I just never know what to expect so we have started going to another new sushi spot in the area that is consistently exceptional. We'll probably try again one day, but because there's a consistently fantastic sushi restaurant in the neighborhood, we just keep putting off going back to MiChi. read more

The lemon roll was a bit soggy. While I appreciate a roll not being "all rice" there could be been a little more rice onto soak up the juice, or less juice. I read so many good reviews about this place, I was super excited to try them! I definitely agree with the raving reviews! I mainly wanted to try their chicken curry ramen. I was happy that it was chicken katsu in the ramen, it was excellent! The broth was a perfect thickness and I loved the flavor. And the egg... perfection. Im not a fan of spicy, so the spicy beef ramen wasn't my cup of tea. Although it oddly reminded me of that Korean buldak spicy ramen flavor. I am a hamachi lover, so I had to try the hamachi carpaccio. It is definitely heaven in a bite. The ponzu sauce gives it a citrus balance, along with the pepper. Must try! We enjoyed all the sushi rolls we ordered. I liked how the batter on the deepfried rolls was not heavy. It had that delicate crunch to it, without tasting too heavy, well done! I will be back! I've only done takeout from here, so I can't speak to the in-person experience. That said, I'm giving this place 5 starts because the food is stellar! The Yummy and MiChi rolls are both excellent. I have got to say.. Wow. This food was absolutely amazing! The quality and the taste was so great. The soy sauce that came with the gyoza was also great. I don't live locally in Oregon, but if I did I would probably go to this place all the time. The staff were also very nice and offered refills when we got to about a quarter left of the drink. They also gave us some small talk like occasional jokes. The place was also very clean, and it wasn't too busy. The designs on the wall too were so cool. This place is definitely underrated and deserves more attention. I would honestly give this more than 5 stars if I could. read more
