We chose this locally-owned cafe for breakfast based on the packed parking lot. If they're busy it must be good, right? Boy, was that ever true. Much to my joy, I found biscuits and gravy on the menu. It having been years since I'd had any that could compare to my beloved Leavenworth Cafe back in Omaha turned me into somewhat of a b&g snob (chains can't seem to do them right, just homey/comfy places), I made up my mind to have some. It did not disappoint. Sweet Lord, they were the best I'd ever had. The biscuits - made fresh every day - were fluffy and soft. The gravy - so obviously NOT out of a can - was thick, creamy, and had the most delicious chunks of sausage. The home fries, swimming in the same gravy, were divine, as well. And the bacon! I like mine "not flabby, but not burnt." A vague description, sure, but doable. They even managed to find that bacon sweet spot for me. Finally, let's talk about the people. Our server was friendly and efficient. A real sweetheart. And the girl has arms of steel. If I tried to carry trays like that, nobody would get fed. And when the owner, Ram, heard it was our first visit, he dropped by the table to say hi. Really nice guy. He and his wife own Mickey D's; his brother-in-law, Louie, has the Cozy Corner Cafe, which we'll be trying next. To sum up, Mickey D's, Ram, his wife, their staff, and the amazing food they serve are well worth a visit. read more

I've been coming to Mickey D's since 2002 and I can honestly say that the new owner Ram has left everything I love and added great new items to the menu. They've even made some of my long time favorites even better. The country fried steak is a must for my wife, the blueberry pancakes are absolutely fantastic and I nearly always find myself ordering the biscuits and gravy. Desperate to find a place to have breakfast after finding other places either closed or at Snooze in Gilbert having to wait an hour for a table and The hostess being extremely rude and disrespectful. We were riding on a bike and saw this place and stopped in. The service was good the food was good and overall a very good experience. Wish I could give them more stars. I traveled the whole United States for over six years and averaged almost 5 days a week on the road. Obviously I ate in a LOT of restaurants. Having said that, this place has the best breakfast I have had in years. It is one of the very few places that doesn't put out pale white hash browns and warm bread instead of toast. Everything was cooked to perfection. The chicken fried steak was perfect with lots of delicious gravy. And the portions were very large. You won't go away hungry. The service was excellent with very friendly waitresses. This was surprising, considering that there was a line waiting to get in 20 minutes before their 6am opening. By 6:20 am the large dining room was completely full. Amazing. Don't expect a fancy decor. This place is a home-style diner with a very casual atmosphere. My favorite kind of place for breakfast. I ordered the eggs, bacon and hash brown breakfast. I asked for extra butter for toast. The eggs were fine. The bacon was cooked so little that it was all gray, not brown or crispy. The hash browns were white, not brown at all and luke warm. No extra butter arrived. The toast wasn't toasted, just white and barely warm hardly any butter. Some big guy with a beard bent down in my face and lectured me loudly about not arriving so close to quitting time. (I had been told already by him that they would seat me if I already knew what I wanted, due to it being close to quitting time.) I was grateful that he made that exception for me except that after seating me he got down in my face and scolded me again for coming so close to quitting time. I should have left right then, but I was hungry. I'll never go back there again. Hacker's Grill, right around the corner from this place has the best food and service with a smile. Was searching on Yelp for a breakfast place to go on Sunday morning with my family. Found this with good reviews. When we arrived at +/- 10.30Am it was packed and we had to wait outside for couple minutes but it was pretty fast ! Traditional American food, service was efficient and fast, coffee was $ .90 !!! The waitress was good no issues there, the food was terrible and the place was dirty. Pancakes were chewy, home fries were so greasy and flavorless The coffee was watered down and my husband got an orange juice that was so thick and concentrated he couldn't even drink it. Overall food is gross and would never come back. To top it off the lady who was cashing us out came to the table and was asking what we wanted to leave for a tip, I simply asked wouldn't we get a receipt I fill out (like any other place) and she said no would you rather me yell the total across the restaurant so you can make your decision? This is one of our go to places as we head out to the state park to hike the mountains. Traditionally a great breakfast place, but we did lunch.The burgers were ok. Homemade tasting buns. I had the chili burger, the chili was luke warm, yet it saved the burger. Service was excellent. This place is as old school traditional as a "greasy spoon" diner can get and I say that w/ respect. A friend recommended it to us. We went on a Saturday & it was a full house! After a brief wait, we were sat, offered drinks & given menus. Every employee we saw greeted us and was very friendly. Our food arrived fast & hot. Decided to go here for breakfast. Had a 15 minute wait and it was rated pretty good. We ordered the chicken fried steak. One order had cold scrambled eggs and the little hash browns were so fried that you could not chew them. The other order had the same problem with the hash browns and I ordered wheat bread but got white. Once the waitress delivered the meal she never came back . My wife and I stopped in last Saturday late morning for the first time. The parking lot was full and we thought we would have to wait to be seated. Place looks small from the outside but is absolutely huge inside. The air smells like a typical greasy spoon and we thought "oh boy here we go ". My family were looking for a place for a sit down breakfast prior to heading out to the Arizona Renaissance Festival. So glad we stopped by this place. It was pretty busy but we had expected that being it was Saturday morning. Even though the place was busy, we got seated pretty quick. The food was excellent and the service was awesome. It felt like we were eating in my own kitchen with family. Everyone was incredibly personable and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.
