Stopped at Micks recently because of its location, seemed convenient and a decent place to get a drink and a meal. So many things went wrong - first of all it was fairly noisy in there, somehow the sound projects all over the place and it didn't feel very comfortable. I started with a martini, which came without olives in it - definitely a no-no. We ordered the crab dip appetizer which came extremely quickly - it didn't taste fishy, but there was way, way too much cheese in it - it was a gooey, cheesy mess. There wasn't enough flat bread to eat it all - and it was SO overly salty we could hardly eat it, it was puckering our lips, the salt really ruined it - plus it was served in a bread bowl that was huge as well - there was enough here to feed an entire family! Second martini ordered - no olives...lol Our dinners came as soon as the appetizer was sat down, we had all these plates and food on the table at the same time, and it was ridiculous. I said something to the waitress about having all the food come out at one time and she was oblivious to what I was saying, she just said they were moving very quickly that night. My date ordered a salad - and they served it to her in a HUGE serving bowl, enough to feed an entire family of 4 - it was really embarrassing, we had to use one of our other dishes to place a reasonable amount of salad on a plate, it was terribly embarrassing to have an entire serving bowl placed in front of you. Third martini ordered - this time I said something to the waitress about the olives - and the next drink came with like 10 olives dumped into it! - lol, this place was hilarious I had the shepherd's pie, which all things considered wasn't horrible. The one thing I know for sure is that they used a frozen vegetable medley in it, which was disappointing. I think that if you are going to use something frozen, don't use something that is obviously frozen and easily identifiable - I mean come on... It was Valentine's day - what a night, we finished with the chocolate lava cake which was drown in Hershey's syrup, it was so cloyingly sweet it was hardly edible. Went there during Covid, protocols were being followed. Happy hour prices were reasonable. Wings were surprisingly good and large. Also had the nachos, they were lackluster and I would not recommend them. I've also bought other sandwiches, like the cheesesteak and Pubwich, which were good but very expensive for the size of the sandwich you got. Service was good. Chicken and cheddar wrap had no flavor. Fries were lukewarm, unsalted, with no crisp whatsoever. When I ordered, I asked if the wrap came with fries. Server told me, "they come with chips, but I can substitute them with fries." So what do I get when the bill comes? A $2 up-charge for the bad fries that I wasn't told about upfront. Waitress dropped a check off with all 12 orders, listed haphazardly and we were left to separate and tell her how much to put on each card. Manager was defensive and argumentative about this policy. I have passed this location on 283 for the past several years, wondering what it was like to eat at Mick's. I noticed mediocre reviews but decided to give them a chance to wow us several weeks ago on a Saturday. Now I know to keep driving. There are certainly better options in Lancaster. The location is nice, as was our server. But the food? That's a different story. First, the cup of chili had a glob of cheese that looked congealed. Chili was nothing special and was heavy on the chili powder. Next, the main course. I had the basic burger with mushrooms, lettuce and tomato. Adding on A1 Sauce, it still tasted rather bland. Again, nothing special. My wife ordered the Southwestern Chicken Rolls with salsa on the side. Again, it tasted generic and was nothing special. Value is okay for what you get, but unless you are low on gas, keep driving further down the road. There are better options out there. read more

I went to Mick's with a group of friends for lunch. Walking in, I loved the vibe - lots of natural light, HUGE booths, a cool bar area, and that nice "new" look. It was a Wednesday afternoon, so there were only a few other people at the restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly. We placed drink orders and meal orders together. By the time my drink came out, I'd forgotten that I'd ordered it because it took so long! Though it was delicious, at that point I was starving for my entree. Entrees took FOREVER to come out. (I was too busy gabbing with my girls to five an exact time frame, but I'd say at least 45 minutes.) My meal, the lobster roll,was great. However, my friend's chicken was burnt. She complained to the waitress, and she asked the cook to prepare another chicken breast. The manager offered my friend a free dessert, which was very nice. She mentioned that she wasn't sure why the food "is taking so long today" and told us that other people ad complained about that, too. Overall the food and drinks were good. It was Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals and that seemed to attract some of the attention. We heard the wings were supposed to be the best around, but who ever heard of a Sports Bar charging extra for celery and blue cheese when you charge $7.99/1/2 doz and $12.00/doz? Either way, the pricing wasn't the problem, it was the mediocre food and the horrible service. We decided to sit at the bar to watch the game and were immediately greeted by a sour-puss bartender who ended up waiting on us all night and from what we could tell, turned out to be the manager. We asked for a beer list, but were told it was on the wall, but it was a wall that we couldn't see, so he rattled the names off by looking at the taps, not us and didn't explain any of the local brews. We all know what a Miller Lite, Blue Moon and a Guinness is, but not the local stuff you have on tap. Cater to your clientele, especially if you're located in the parking lot of a Hampton Inn of the Interstate. So, we just ordered things we were already familiar with. Now, I also ordered a glass of ice water . . . the first of 4 TIMES that I would do so that evening. And each time it was never brought. All at the bar, all by the male bartender who we believe was the manager, at least for that night. The wings I ordered came out, with the much talked about sauces, but they weren't all that good. The menu said they were cooked to order and always juicy, but that is a lie. They were like so many other places and obviously pre-cooked ahead of time and then finished to order. You can tell when the drummies are dry and the wingettes are dry and pulling apart and showing at the joint. Enough about the food. The worst part of the evening though was the horrible attitude of the bartender/manager. He was absolutely the worst person you would want representing your business. Maybe it was a bad day, but his attitude towards his job and customers was way over the top. Too much for me . . . it was to the point I didn't want to even order anything else from the guy. We come thru this area a few times per month and I can tell you this is the last time we'll stop here, there are too many other options in the area that have much better service. My son ordered a chicken pie, I'm not sure what the heck they gave us but it was far from being a chicken pie. Basically he received a disk which we assumed was to the be dough along with a plastic container of slop. That was $13.99 down the deposal. My daughter and I ordered chicken fajitas however we didn't receive the beans, salsa, sour cream or tortillas. Seriously, how difficult is it to make sure an order is complete. This is a pretty nice looking place I guess it's the anchor to the shopping center I'm not sure really what the anchor is. Seems more corporate than privately owned which I am not a fan of. The environments kind of stale the Decour is nothing super spectacular. I had a beer beer is beer. I prefer a place that has a little bit of style a little bit of environment. I haven't found people inside mix to be super friendly. With so many places to drink beer you Gotta make yourself outstanding and I have to say this place is not outstanding but all I can say is give it a shot you may like it read more

We decided to try something new and go to Micks, I ordered the salmon with dill sauce rice and vegetable of the day it came extremely burnt tasted like smoke returned while I ate rice and veggie and the salmon came back on a small plate just the salmon no sauce or anhtibg else it was cooked ok but had no sauce or flavor, people at my table offered their butter and lemon in order to make it taste good, everyone else's food was good. This new Mick's just opened and it's our first trip here, arrived in time for happy hour 4-6pm. 3 dollars off apps and 1 off drinks, not a bad deal. We had the pub fries, fresh cut covered in chili, cheese, and bacon. My husband cleared the plate, they were good. Got can't go wrong with bacon!! Tuesday is $5.00 off a 14 inch pizza. We added bacon(again) and onions. It wasn't anything special but it's pizza. Our service was great, Olivia was our waitress and she was super nice. All in all it was a good dinner at a less than 20 bucks! We'll be back for sure. On a side note, it's new and after happy hour got super busy. Unfortunately I cannot give zero stars because If I could I would. I used to come here all the time but due to life it had been a few months. I didn't recognize anyone. We ordered alcoholic drinks and I had to ask for my iced tea three times until I actually got it. I asked for my twins food to come out first. It didn't. After waiting 25 minutes til we got the food. When we got our food my daughters peanut butter and jelly came out with hard bread that either was stale or sat under the heat lamp too far. My sons cheese burger had a literally a spit of cheese on it. Fries were cold on every plate. The bacon on my husbands burger was beyond over cooked and the substitutions on my meal were completely over looked. The manager had all of our food replaced after fifteen minutes but did nothing to compensate until I got the check and told the waitress that basically they must have blamed her then they took off a minimal amount. At checkout the bartender said the computer system was down and she couldn't check us out. 10 minutes later when she walked by I told her I had cash and she said she couldn't do that, because "how do I know what you had?" and it would only be another 5 minutes or so and they were working on the registers. We have been to Mick's many times and have watched it go through several phases. At it's old location in Mount Joy, the food was terrible and the service was worse. When they opened up the new location in Manheim (just outside of Mount Joy), it breathed new life into the business. Service was great and the food was really good. Sadly, we have noticed over the past couple visits that they have slipped back into their old ways again. The food is edible, but nothing you'd return for. And the service is, well, a stretch to even call it service. They don't write down your order, which is great if they get it right. But accuracy is a huge issue. I don't understand the appeal of not wanting to write things down to make sure things are right. Once we were served our meal, we never saw our server again until he brought the check, so we never had the opportunity to even let them know what was wrong with our order. Accuracy of the order aside, the food was just so-so. Definitely not worth what we paid, even on special and we could have done much better elsewhere. We have tried to be loyal customers but I think the time has come that we will likely not return, at least for a long time. read more

Solid 2 and that is a generous rating. FIRST off my boyfriend and I order wings as an appetizer and we are informed that dressing is 1$ each and celery is 0.25$. This was a huge turn off not to mention they charge an extra 2$ for fries as a side to any sandwich on the menu including burgers. I order a burger with fries. The entree took almost 45 min AND it was not cooked properly and had toppings that I stated I wanted on the burger missing(mayo&onions). Finally, the fries were so undercooked they were cold in the middle and tasted like a complete raw potato. They bring over new fries and those were SATURATED in grease. Went here because it was in the hotel parking lot and it was new. The seating configuration is weird, especially the tables as you first walk in. All the booths are for large parties of 8 (huh?) The enormous bar overwhelms the whole front room, this should have told us that selling drinks was their first priority because the food was not good. The fish and chips were awful, cold fries and fried to death fish, with cole slaw that was the worst ever. The pub sandwich looked promising on the menu, but ended up being a horrible concoction that was only saved by the delicious pretzel roll. Finished off with the volcano cake that was OK, but way overpriced (I should have asked the price first, my bad). I'm sure this is a fine drinking establishment, just don't come here hungry. read more
