Horrible attitude. Last night we had an online order to pick up and when we arrived it wasn't ready. Then I spoke with an employee the short guy at the check stand on the right of the online ordering area, and he rudely told me to wait for 10 minutes before he could look for my order. I asked him why when I showed him my online reservation number that it was clearly ready for pick up? 2 minutes later a employee named Kia informed me I was being rude and told me to leave! I asked for a manager and he said I am the manager you need to get the F out of my store or I will call security and have the police arrest you for trespassing. I go excuse me? He then proceeded to gather more employees and threatened me if I don't leave he will pummel me to the ground in front of everyone and say I stole an item from the WiFi section. I'm thinking what is wrong with the authoritative attitude? I only asked the short cashier why I would have to wait for another 10 minutes in the side line when my order is already confirmed? My family purchased one computer and two laptops during Black Friday weekend. Service was good. For one laptop, we were given the wrong model (330-15IKBR touch screen vs 330-15IKB no touch screen). Good thing is, it's the same price point. Just one digit off... an honest mistake by the salesperson. We found out when there was no touchscreen upon setup. What really annoys me was the solution, rather lack of solution to this. We returned the wrong model and are still waiting for the model we purchased, still out of stock. Sent an email and made a call to the department manager, still no reply after a week. Sucks how multiple employees I talked to, both in person and on phone, assumed it was our mistake, not theirs. Our main salesperson admitted to the mistake, but the others... C'mon guys. Micro Center is competing with other big names. If you guys are making assumptions when you're clearly in the wrong, customers would rather buy from competitors at a higher price than waste time here. This is taking way too long. We just needed our laptops, get in, and get out. Now we gotta follow up to see when it's ready. No system in place to know when it'll be in stock either. We need to check ourselves. I was there today to purchase a new Lenovo lap top computer for around $1100 and also a Samsung S24 which was on sale for $1100 also. The computer I was interested in, a brand new touch screen Lenovo model, was not in stock for me to purchase, only a returned refurbished one of that same model was for sale for a couple hundred dollars less. The display model was not available for purchase either. I was told they never know when computers come in I would need to wait for a couple of weeks. One fellow, totally unhelpful, said "sorry about that" and that is the worst reply someone can say to a customer, being in business myself. I told him that and he walked away without a word. Another rep who originally helped me was on a computer, and when I asked how long before I could get the model Lenovo I was interested in, looked at me very demeaning and said to me I just had to wait two weeks and check their website. I then walked away to another sales rep, as I was interested in a new Samsung 24S, and the rep had none on display, only one other phone in a lock and key in a cabinet, high above the display counter, under lock and key. I asked to see it, and he said, they do not open the cabinet until I go to the sales counter to pay for one. All reps I talked to today at the Microcenter were very unhelpful, and really did not seem interested in making sales. They were disinterested. I will not be shopping there anymore and go elsewhere. They lost several thousand dollars in sales today. No wonder sales reps are just standing around with nothing to do. Not a good business model. read more

I was in the area with time to burn so stopped by to look at what they are selling now that fry's electronic is gone. 1st thing I notice is many armed security guards, what is up with that? Is the area that bad? On to the store itself, they got everything you want to built PC but in store I didn't seem some very high end GPU, could be that it is special order only or they were out of stock, honestly not sure. Checkout line moved quickly so that is always appreciated. If I was in need to build a computer right now, maybe I would buy some item from them but honestly there is much higher selection on Amazon and one can find better prices online. The Tustin Knowledge Bar has been the worst experience of my life and I will never shop at Micro Center again. My fiancé dropped off my PC on September 6, 2023 with Bryan Carrera for a diagnostic test because my PC kept crashing. After two weeks, I did not receive any communication or updates. Since I could not find the store phone number anywhere, I drove over to Micro Center on a Saturday to receive an update on my PC. After waiting for over an hour, I was told by one of the supervisors named Josh that my PC could not be found and they told me to come back on Monday. Josh gave me a phone number to call and he said that was the store phone number to call if I have any questions. My fiancé came back on Monday and they said the PC was still lost and they had to check the cameras to see what happened, but it would take a few days for someone to check the cameras. I called the number that Josh gave me and that phone number was NOT the store number. He gave me the number to a random doctor's office. I finally found customer service's phone number and reported my PC as lost and they claimed that they would contact the Tustin store and investigate. Customer service provided the Tustin store's true phone number to me and the representative who picked up the phone made an accusation that I could be a fraud lying about my PC being stolen. After this terrible accusation, I finally received a call from the manager named Johnny and he somehow found my PC. It has been almost exactly one month and Johnny initially claimed that I had an issue with my CPU. However, a different technician called yesterday and said it was actually a RAM issue. They replaced my RAM yesterday and they told me it was ready to be picked up. My PC is still not working properly and I have wasted so much time and money. I cannot trust these employees and I do not know what they did with my PC for a month. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE MICRO CENTER YOUR BUSINESS!!! read more

This review is directed specifically at the Tech Bar, they have provided the absolute worst service I've ever seen and are incompetent. I used to go to Micro Center whenever my gaming PC had an issue, they used to be good evening managing to fix issues in an hour. This most recent time has made me want to never return again. I left my PC with them on 3/4/2024, they give me the service number and I check it through their site. The estimated date of fix is 3/5/2024. A week and a half goes by and they haven't even bothered to run the diagnostic. Only after I make a complaint do they actually get started and diagnosing and fixing it still takes them about 4 days, and also they don't even fix anything, they tell me my motherboard is broken and say I should buy a new one from them. At this point, I don't trust them with anything and take it back before they try to pull some bullshit and make me pay for a new part that I don't need. I take it somewhere else and they diagnose and fix it in 5 hours. A 5 hour job took this useless tech service two weeks to not even fix anything. Fuck this place, if you're looking for someone to fix your computer, do not go here. They are completely unreliable. read more

If you need electronics, computer parts or anything related to gaming, Micro Center is the place to be. It's like a nerds wet dream in here. I love it. Like, I don't know too much about computers, but holy shit they have a lot of things in here that I've never seen before...it's nuts but it's so cool. This place offers custom monitors, computer parts, processors, displays, keychains, gaming mouses, chairs, hand sanitizer, compressed air, keyboards, etc. If you enjoy window shopping for electronics, you'll have a lot of fun in here. Because of covid, they're only allowing a small amount of people in the store at a time, which is good. You have to scan a QR code, fill out some basic info, then you'll be put on a waitlist. (You'll get a text when it's your turn.) I was just here today because my friend needed to pick up some AirPods. The workers here are extremely helpful. My friend and I were completely lost and we had no idea what we were doing lol. But they were able to guide us in the right direction to get that online order processed for pick up. My only dislike for this place is the parking lot. It looks like it's a huge lot, but it gets packed really quick. Not Micro Centers fault. Also, there will be people standing around the entrance so bring a lot of patience with you. I was in a good mood luckily but oh my fucking god. Today, I was driving through the lot to find parking and there was some dumb bitch in the middle of the parking lot with her boyfriend and they wouldn't fucking move. Customer support at Micro Center, and specifically the Tustin, California location, is atrocious. I bought a laptop from them three weeks ago, then noticed a few days later that the price had dropped by $200, so I contacted customer support -- the main corporate line, not the Tustin store, as the Tustin store does not have a listed phone number (how weird is that??) and because the store is a 90 minute drive away. The support rep promptly approved the price adjustment and sent me an e-mail confirming the authorization and instructing the Tustin manager to make the adjustment. Fast forward almost 20 days and I still haven't received a price adjustment after multiple calls to their main customer support line. The customer support reps keep telling me they have issued the instruction to the local store and have been apologizing for the lack of response but they just keep asking me to wait another day or two. At this stage, I'm seriously upset, bc it seems pretty clear that the local store management is unprofessional and that corporate seems to have no sway with them. The funny thing is when I was making my purchase (in store) the sales guy was super friendly but one thing that struck me was that after he made the sale, he actually walked me over to his manager (the store manager Greg Moore) to introduce me to him. Felt a little odd but I thought maybe this store was super focused on the customer but little did I know, once you've made the purchase and are out the door, they don't give two sheets about you! Enormous headache, please stay away from this location for your sanity. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau on Monday. Please note I have spent a ton of money here on monitors, mice, keyboards, headsets, software, etc. I've been a customer since 2015. I spent $3000 on what was meant to be a fully functional top of the line custom PC build three months ago. Evidently the sales rep did not calculate power consumption totals because the 850W power supply he sold me CANNOT adequately run my machine without me severely lowering power draw through third party software and thus defeating the purpose of paying so much money for a top of the line GPU, CPU, cooling system, etc. I purchased a 2 year warranty which would cover anything that was not theft or accidental damage with the intention to protect myself from any such thing as this. Having been a contractor with knowledge of sales and service, I knew that oversights could happen on various levels( sometimes because the interactions between variables can get complex and in cases like this because of simple incompetency) . Upon trying to use my warranty coverage to attain a replacement power supply, I have encountered a ridiculous amount of incompetency, aggression, and condescension. To begin with a service appointment does not ensure you will receive service that day, it only acts as a consultation and allows you to join the queue of service requests. Furthermore, you cannot join the queue of service requests unless you attend the store in person which is a burden on the customer if they live(like I do) a great distance from the location. Management is struggling with resource allocation and their service department is suffering terribly because of it, there is a shortage of technicians and each one is backlogged greatly by their own account. Technicians being rude and hanging up on me mid conversation have been the worst of all as I treated them with nothing but respect/decency and tried to communicate that I knew they were not responsible for the failures of the sales reps. In the end, I managed to find one good thing and that was a customer service rep named Geoffrey who helped me look into alternatives to resolve my problem. It was not the solution I was entitled to by virtue of purchasing the warranty, nor one that didn't result in a big hassle, but at least it was less of a hassle than following standard procedure(if you can even call it that, I doubt Micro Center even has standardized operating procedures with any meaningful thought investment being implemented well). read more

Several times I see 24+ in stock of PLA+ but I get to the store and they cant find any so Im forced to buy more expensive cheaper quality filament. Once employees told me they are probably in back on pallet and they dont have time to find them, two other times they just said they didnt know. Found out about Micro Center last year because I needed computer parts the same day and couldn't wait for Newegg or other online retailers to ship to me. Went into the store and was impressed and said I'd be coming back more often. Came down for a GPU release later in the year and the line was organized. Employees came out in the morning and gave out vouchers in an orderly fashion. Got my GPU half an hour after the store opened and went home happy. Went again a couple months later for another GPU release and it was a complete cluster fuck. The line was moved all the way to the sidewalk and looked like a homeless enclave. Tent city, smelly people, and bags of piss hiding in the bushes. On top of that, I try to social distance but no one respects the space I put between them and myself. Then there are the people walking around without masks and spreading their coronavirus to everyone. Anyway, employees came out in the morning and didn't bother with the line that formed over night. Just yelled "line up if you want a voucher" and it became a mad scramble with arguments breaking out. People who were from the back of the line but lurking in the front got a voucher and others who just arrived got one over those who camped from the day before. I walked away empty handed and wasted lining up overnight when I should have gotten a voucher. I haven't been back since but saw that video that was posted on Reddit and it seems things have gotten even worse in a matter of weeks. Seeing something like this happen makes me not want to shop there for a while or ever again out of concern for my safety. I suggest Micro Center do some sort of online signup or a daily lottery like Newegg before customers go to the store so they aren't camping and threatened with violence. The store can get ID information to verify people who enter. On top of that, ban people from buying up more GPUs for six months to deter scalpers. If they can run a virtual queue on busy weekends, they can easily do something like this for GPU sales. I heard they didn't hand out vouchers today and glad to see they got rid of the camping scalpers for now. However, I get the feeling all they'll do is close the parking lot until the store opens so people don't camp on the property over night. Doing this will only kick the can down the road and cause traffic jams instead of bringing any meaningful change. It would be great to shop at Micro Center again but I'm not coming back until they can guarantee my safety from violent scalpers. read more

Update! Now that I am working from home, I needed a computer that would function as a business computer with a fast processor, good keyboard, WiFi stick, and dual monitor capabilities. I came in just to look and check out their refurbished inventory. Back in the sales department, Levi Martin assisted me. He was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He listened to my needs and budget and presented me with a few new and refurbished options. In the end I ended up with: -HP refurbished computer -2 NOD32 antivirus software programs (they are discounted when you buy them with a new computer!) -2 Acer screens -HDMI - WiFi stick for internet access -Wireless keyboard & mouse combo I am so happy with my computer and I recommend that everyone go to microcenter. I always want to get the best deal possible, so I was on Amazon, Best Buy, HP website trying to compare prices and Microcenter beat all of their prices!! They have anything from water coolers to computer cases. If you plan on building a gaming computer this is the place to go. They have a large variety of graphic cards that best suit your gaming experience. The only issue I had was finding a case. The cases they carry are either too big or to bulky. The customer service is not great. The first person that helped me was a very cocky guy, the thing he said that annoyed me most was "this is called a mouse, incase you didn't know",are you kidding me. Seemed a bit sexist but I threw him off when I said that 2 980's perform better than the Titan. The cashier was very helpful and he gave me a few pointers on the graphic cards for laptops. The selection and service here really pale in comparison to any of the other big box electronic stores. The reason is is that this is really primarily computer store, rather than a TV or appliance store. This is definitely the place to go if you need a very specific computer related item or particular part for your computer. Certainly they sell plenty of desktop and laptop computers as well as monitors printers and all that but their stock in trade here really is for the person who needs a particular accessory or a particularly hard to find technical item this is the place to get it. I helped my son build a computer about a year ago and they had absolutely everything we needed from the motherboard to the processor that case the drives the whole works and we didn't have to go anywhere else for any of what we needed. What's also nice is there's a bunch of employees that are walking around and you can actually get them to give you some good information not just where to find something but they're also tell you which is the best one to get and if you're not sure if you are deciding between a certain voltage or a certain amp at they will definitely fill you in and give you the right technical information. read more

There's a motherboard and cpu I wanted to pick up from here but it was out of stock. Both were on sale and I asked when the sale would be over, I was told it'd still be on sale for another two weeks. I check back in EVERY day for a week, then all the sudden they raise the price of both, and fairly significantly. So I contacted them and they promptly told me the price hasn't changed. I ask them to check again and they confirm that the new more expensive price has always been the price and tell me I was looking at the open box one. I present photo evidence of the sale price and they still tell me I'm wrong. A) Don't tell me a sale is going to last two weeks just to cut it short. B) How are you going to not admit that the price went up when I present you with photo evidence? I'd rather pay more and take my money elsewhere then deal with these clowns. This store combines the selection, quality and value of a Best Buy and Frys in a smaller setting. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable and I normally don't have to hunt someone down for help, that's a big plus in my book. I have gone there several times when I need small computer items, memory chips, supplies or to compare computer prices,etc. They have a huge selection for both Mac and IBM. They also carry TV's etc. They have great sales all of the time on all sorts of stuff. I am certainly no techie but I can do the simple stuff like adding memory to my laptop. There price for memory was actually cheaper than what I found from most ebay stores and there was someone to answer my questions. They do have a repair and upgrade service area as well and returns usually go off without a hitch. Mico Center is the antidote to Fry's. read more

I was happy to find that Micro Center was a lot more chill and relaxed and you don't get that convention feel about it. On top of it, people are not constantly coming over to bother you with how they can help you find the perfect item. Sheeeit. I am browsing. Leave me alone. Here, they only engage when you make eye contact. I eventually did after I saw something I liked and the salesperson came over and explained the whole system to me in laymen terms mind you and I completely understood what he was saying. That's already different from Fry's. The salespeople at Fry's know nothing about customer service or how to really speak to a customer. When you ask them to explain stuff they try to but in the end, you have no freaking clue what they just told you. I like going into a store and seeing the merchandise and feeling it before purchasing and I think Micro Center will be where I'll be going to to do that in the future. I really thought about going to Fry's. But that place is a lot farther away, and a lot more of hectic. My Magellan GPS was 4 years old, and I needed a new one. While the world of GPS systems have improved, I kept this old thing. It almost always still did it's job. Once in a while, though, the computer voice was half speed, making it sound like a drunk female version of Star Wars' Chewbacca. When I had the window down it would scare kids playing on the street. So, I went online and found the Nuvi 1300 here at a decent price. There is plenty of parking just as the store opens on a Sunday morning. Walking in, it's decently organized by category...computers, cameras, etc. Still I had to ask someone who told me where to go, I mean, which section of the store. I notice several young pimpled faced, be-speckled geeks who likely spend more time gaming than socializing. It took awhile for one of them to get free. They opened up the glass case so I could check it out. Thankfully, they had the one I needed new in a box. First, he asks if I have any questions, and I said "No, thanks...this is all I need". Then the guy sends me on my way with hardly a glitch, no up-selling, nothing. As I left, a group of these sales geeks gathered where we were. One of them says, "so, I can't wait to get my hands on it...it's so new and sexy, so graphic"...I thought they were talking about a blow up doll, but it was the new IPad. I went early, so it wasn't crowded at all. I walked to the register, I noticed the people ringing up the merchandise were all well groomed, decent looking, and had a personality. Imagine that, they keep the Nerds in the back, huh? So I paid with my credit card, and was out of there in 10 minutes. My new GPS has laughable Spanish street name pronunciation, but works like a charm. And I always remember the old joke...Never say "Micro" and "soft" when discussing socializing with a NERD.
