We had hail damage to our house and received a bid from Mid Atlantic that was approved by our insurance company - they even got our shed included in the re-roof. There were some hiccups with scheduling and confusion over our gutter guards but in the end, they completed the job in one day and the roof looks terrific! They even came back a second time because of a leak in a skylight - ended up having nothing to do with the roofing job but they fixed it anyway. Just needed some new caulking. Overall we're very pleased and have provided their info to a neighbor who may need a new roof. read more

I contacted MAC to address storm damage since they did great work for me years ago. They were communicative, responsive, fast, and pleasant. This time around, it started off well and I enjoyed working with Rami. He was knowledgeable and responsive. This went fine until the work was completed. The team left a mess in the yard. Although we had the grass cut and the contract talks about how they sweep and clean up, we continue months later to find screws and bent up pieces of siding everywhere. We've been fortunate not to get any in our tires as a lot of it was in our driveway. The crew also tossed trash out into our yard, including some food containers, despite doing so right next to our trash can. The crew left with no downspouts on our house. We were left without downspouts for a couple of weeks with little to no communication as to why/when it would be addressed. Fortunately, we didn't have any big storms so no damage done. The leftover materials from the job stayed in our driveway for a couple of months. I had to ask repeatedly for them to be picked up. Eventually they were. On the back of the house, they put a frame around our electrical outlet, which makes it borderline unusable. It's been great having folks come by the house and tell me, "See? You can open it?" by wedging their finger in, scraping it against the frame, and alternately using a screwdriver to open it. I've been back and forth so many times asking for a resolution. I didn't get a lot of communication until Rami had someone from the office, Jane, tell me *I* had to hire an electrician to completely replace it. Rather than show ANY empathy, she just kept trying to tell me how technically aluminum and vinyl siding are different. As I asked how we can close this out, which is something I've been trying to do for months and trusted Rami to do on my behalf with insurance... I was asked to pay some remaining balance of a few thousand of insurance money I was "holding". This check was cashed in June and I was only asked for a portion of it. I would be happy to pay in full once we close out with insurance. At this point I don't even care about a resolution for my outlet. I do not recommend MAC... at least not if you're working with a combination of Jane and Rami. Service and empathy are non-existent here. read more

Called them out for some aluminum siding repair on my parents home. They ended up telling us insurance would cover the entire home due to the aluminum siding they have is no longer being manufactured. They met with the insurance adjuster, took a piece that had been ripped off during a storm. That was the last I heard from them. My father tried staying in contact with Christian who was the rep for MAC that initially came out to meet with agent. I personally got a bad vibe from the guy as he was rude and annoyed with me asking questions. He kept giving my dad the run around with no follow up. So I then decided to take over in trying to figure out what happened. Spoke with the owner of MAC and explained how Christian keeps giving my father the run around with zero follow up. He then told me the rep called a few times within the past couple weeks which was a lie. I checked all the incoming calls and messages on the machine with zero calls from him. He then assured me a rep will call me back which they did not. At that point there is no reason to keep wasting my time with an incompetent company that shows no value to its customer nor keeps their word. Being pressured to lie about hail damage and the threat of being fired before commissions can be collected. I was initially skeptical of Mid Atlantic, but after I saw the work on my neighbor's home I asked for the contact information. Best decision I've made in a long time. Michael Jones of Mid Atlantic is simply one of the best and most customer service oriented professionals I've ever met. He worked closely with my insurance company to get my claim processed. After the claim was filed he scheduled the siding work on my house at a convenient time, made sure the crew was up to snuff and checked regularly during the installation. After the job was done he made sure any small fixes were made promptly. There were no big problems. Then AFTER all the work was done, he and the accounting dept at Mid Atlantic helped me get the last check from the insurance company for work that would be done by another firm. Both Michael Jones and Mid Atlantic Construction have my unqualified endorsement. I would be very happy to work with both again. Horrid unprofessional storm chasers taking advantage of customers that don't know better. Will be swift to take your money but you won't hear back from these horrible people for weeks and months. They even make people sign a stupid paper saying the customer is now not allowed to find another company. They take months to finish a job that they make people sign an exclusivity contract and does not fulfill the contract after 6 months, after endless phone calls trying to get them to finish the job. Apparent doesn't even complete the job. Our insurance inspector came to check on the house after we are trying to sell the house and said a bunch of things werent done that was claimed to be done by MAC. When we and the insurance asked for associated paperwork regarding the job, was met by real shady responses. In the end, we hired someone else to come finish the work, Mac was hired to do and ran from. Literally scum. Be warned. Stay away. read more

The issue was finally resolved after a lot of back and forth. They agreed to finally correct the issue after I had to submit my Homeowner's Association Rules stating that any change in color must receive an approval before it's done. So the gutters were replaced with the original color. read more

MAC is a bunch of storm-chasers. Every 2-4 weeks and after any storm that has winds over 20 MPH there is MAC's hired salesmen banging on the door. They are good at working with insurance I've heard, but then hire out the roof replacement to random companies/crews so the work is inconsistent. In the past year besides knocking on my door every few weeks, I've had to deal with one of their salesmen letting his dog poop in my yard (which he didn't see); and then after one of my neighbors hired them to replace their roof I spent 20 minutes cleanup debris from my yard. OH and the house which they were working on was across the street - so perhaps they are trying to make mess of the neighborhood. People stop using them. If you suspect storm damage, use Yelp to find a true roofing company. Or most insurance companies can send out their own independent rep or suggest good companies to use. read more

I ended up choosing MAC, Troy Billups was more than helpful. He was able to guide me throughout the entire process and made sure that all work was completed quickly and at the highest standards. I called MAC after the severe windstorms in early March damaged the roof of my house to the point that it required a brand new roof. Once they were able to get going on the repair in May, I'll admit the quality of work was excellent. What has been really painful is their lack of clear communication and status updates. I don't know what's going on over there, but it sounds like there has been enough attrition that the remaining folks are stretched way too thin. It's literally been 6 months after the storms hit and 3 months since they completed most of the job. Communication during and after the main parts of the work has been incredibly painful. In those last 3 months, I've not heard a single word from them about when they will fully complete the job, even after multiple requests by text and email. While the quality of work is great, I would not recommend MAC in the state they are in right now. Their communication is poor, and you may be left to project manage the work yourself at a high level. I'm guessing for smaller jobs they might do better given other recent reviews, but if your project is similar in size to replacing a whole roof, I'd stay away. read more

I had the misfortune of dealing with MAC during this past summer (2018). The company hires installers with inappropriate behavior, they are messy, neglect to remove all debris. Took a few calls and follow up texts to have them come back to remove all debris properly. Worst of all, they did not take responsibility for permanent damages caused to the property (damaged plants, and siding walls). Project manager was Lukas Metzger! Will not recommend this company and have advised the HOA to ban this company from future projects within the community. read more

Half of my roof is damaged due to wind storm. MAC is very excited and made us sign the contract, then forgot all about it. They did the tarp to protect from water damage and within 2 weeks roof leaked. Then they came after 10-15 calls and redid the tarp. After numerous calls and postponements, after 3 plus months they finished roof, left the leaked sealing. And did not bother about it. During the work they literally walked over my front yard and stepped on blooming plants, left it a mess. If you want reliable service, hire some one else. read more

Contacted MAC for estimates on storm damage repairs. The MAC representative came out immediately the same day and initially dealt with my insurance company. In the days following, requests to have a tarp put up to protect damaged areas per my insurance company were not fulfilled. MAC representative literally forgot we had scheduled an appointment to meet with insurance adjustor and seemed annoyed when I called to remind him and give the scheduled time frame as he had requested. He wanted it pushed forward several days for his convienence, not his customers. I reminded him of what was actually said and agreed upon and he did come out. When he came out he was driving a Mustang and only had a tiny collapsible ladder (Which the insurance adjustor giggled at) and appeared completely unprepared compared to the insurance adjustor to do an estimate. Which in the end he didn't do. He went off the insurance adjustors paperwork. He was friendly, but did "absolutely nothing" in terms of working with the claims adjustor to negotiate on damages. He basically followed him around on the roof with his hands in his pocket agreeing with everything the adjustor said. Did nothing to work on behalf of his customer or point out damages I had observed during the wind storm. He mentioned his company had replaced my neighbors roof which I found out to be untrue. He quoted a 4-5 month wait time before they could begin a roof replacement which is ridiculous on a home with existing roof damage which would only get worse with each rain fall or storm. It would also void the conditions of my insurance policy. A true insurance restoration specialist would know this. When the insurance claim was written and the MAC rep realized it would not work out in his favor, he was quick to beat feet instead of fighting for his customer as an "Insurance Restoration Specialist". In the end the MAC rep talked a big game initially and never followed through on anything or did what I hired them to do. Complete waste of time. The very same day, I hired a new contractor who came out, was completely honest, got right on the roof and did an inch by inch inspection uncovering a lot more damage, he didn't bullshit me, worked hard for me, followed through on every promise, fought with my insurance claims adjustor in my favor to get what my home needed which was a full new roof and won a customer for life. If you want your time wasted and deal with a company that does not live up to what they claim they do and are obviously incompetent in dealing with insurance claims and the claims process, hire MAC. You will waste days or even weeks and still be at square one waiting for them to work at their convienence and pace of indifference. Or, you can hire a real contractor who will show up in a mans truck with ladders and tools and construction knowledge and know how to handle business. read more

If Mid Atlantic was as agressive with providing great customer service throughout the entirety of a project, as they are when pursuing that initial payment from insurance companies, my rating would probably be much better. My story: Signed a contract in May for MAC to replace my roof. Due to a series of travel requirements, I was unable to immediately send my insurance company's check to MAC. Once I returned home and mailed the check, it took a few weeks to schedule an appointment for them to come back so that we could pick out colors. Once that was done, there was a waiting period for the material. After that, someone from their admin staff called to schedule delivery of the material, which had to be done the day before work began. At the time of the call, I was out of town for a business trip and asked for the delivery to take place on the following Monday. Delivery occurred on a Tuesday. That Wednesday, the crew showed up for work. I was advised to not be on the premises due to the amount of noise expected. I asked them to give me a time frame for when I could return and the workers said after 6. So, I left and actually returned home a little after 7 pm. The crew was still working, but winding down. Unfortunately, it began to get dark before they could completely finish. The hurriedly cleaned up; removing large debris. They returned the following day to finish cleaning, used a magnet to pick up sharp metal items and loose nails. However, to my dismay, after their departure, I discovered a large number of nails lodged in the crevices of my deck, as well as unused plywood on the side of house. Knowing they would return, because they still had to replace the downspouts, I did not overly concern myself with the material left behind. About a week or two later, a worker showed up to replace the metal stripping (can't remember what he called it) running alongside the right side of the house. Mind you, he just showed up. There was no attempt by the company to schedule this visit. After he explained why he was there, I asked him to ensure he takes the plywood with him and to also clip the wires that were left dangling because they removed an old satellite dish. He said ok; I went back inside to continue working (I work from home on occasion). About an hour later, I went outside to check on his progress only to discover he'd left. Didn't even bother to let me know he was leaving. He removed the leftover plywood but left the dangling wires. :-( A few hours later, a second crew showed up; again no calls from the company to let me know they'd be coming. They just showed up. So, clearly frustrated by now, I attempted to contact the Project Manager assigned to my job, he doesn't answer the phone. I text him to which he responds, "They're just there to do a final walk around to make sure everything is good." I respond, "Everything is not good, please call." He finally makes it around to calling and when I explained about the wires, his response was they generally don't remove the wires because they leave it up to the homeowner and most homeowners just simply pull the wires in. This was ABSOLUTELY not discussed when I signed my contract. So, now I have to hire someone to come out to remove the wires so that I am not fined by my HOA. I am currently waiting for MAC to call to schedule an appointment to repair the ceiling in one of the bedrooms as a result of the leaking roof. I've not heard from them since 22 September. read more

After this recent storm I called MAC to see if they would give me an estimate. I sent them pictures of the damages and told them that I was not necessarily looking to replace the entire roof and only get the shingles replaced as the roof was not in terrible shape. The guy I spoke to could have ended the call then but instead suggested that I find a local handyman to complete the job. He also said that roofing companies would want to work with people who want big claims or want to get the roof replaced. I was happy to get an honest opinion of what we really needed. I used MAC after having wind damage from a storm. Andre Pena was my project manager. He sat down with me and explained how the process would work. After I contacted my insurance company and set up at date for them to look at the roof Andre meet with them as well. The whole thing was pretty easy. Both Liberty Mutual and MAC made it a delightful experience as I am happy that I was able to get my roof replaced. We used MAC to replace our siding and wrap windows 4 years ago and they did a very respectable job, nothing to complain. However, last month when we had all the heavy thunderstorms I noticed that water was overflowing the gutters instead of going the downspouts. I went up to the lower roofing area of the house and noticed the clogging due to the absence of gutter guard screen. Apparently they forgot to put the screen back on 4 years ago. So I called them and asked for help. After a few back&forth phone conversations, they came out and installed new screens. I gave it a 5 star simply because they kept their promise and backed up their service using actions. You always appreciate honest business. read more

I never write negative reviews, but I had to warn people about this company. My husband hired them after they came to our door following a storm (lesson learned on that one). It took them A YEAR to complete the work that we contracted them for. We would reach out to the guy in charge of our project and he would simply not respond or would put us off. Because they didn't repair our small siding job in a timely manner, the siding ended up blowing off the house during a windy day, turning the small job into a much bigger job. So to replace our roof, repair some siding, and install an attic fan took a YEAR. And there was no reduced charge for their horrific service. It was the highest estimate that I received, I got 3, but he was able to get my insurance company to pay for everything. He made a bunch of promises and then left the company. Now I got billed for for over $4,000 of fees from miss communication and I still have a leak. Don't trust them!!!!! They are storm chasers. read more

The person that showed up to my house was nice. Very typical process of someone stating that they could look at your roof and possibly get your insurance company to pay for replacement if they could identify damages. After I had signed the contract and given them complete control of the work they were not willing to discuss with me any small changes or accommodations to the work, like adding stuff to the contract if they were going to be removing pieces anyways (like gutter guards, etc.). This is because they are focused on wringing as much money out of your insurance company as possible and trying to appease you will cost them a little time and cause them to slow down a little. They prefer to push you away at that point and get to the next house. They were not customer service oriented. They wanted to get your signature on the contract and then force you to abide with items that you would not have agreed to had you been able to discuss anything with them like you would with a standard contractor. Other contractors have since given me feedback that I could have had the shingles on my roof replaced for around $6,000. MAC wrangled over $13,500 out of my insurance company with the different games that they play by submitting supplements. They still charged me $825 on top of that for 11 sheets of sheathing that they replaced without giving me the option to see it first. They determined it needed to be replaced and the fine print in the contract forced me to pay an enormous fee for it. This was ONLY the sheathing, they were already being paid to remove and replace everything else. I called them on a few items that they were trying to get my insurance company to pay for work which they did not perform. They tried to fight me on those, but I won in the end because they did not perform the work. The roof replacement was acceptable, but I ended up paying $2k out of pocket for a job that they made me believe my insurance company would cover. I would recommend you search out a more honest company that puts at least some value in customer service. read more

Paid $30,000 in 2012 to replace roof, siding, and gutters. Contract said LIFETIME warranty. 2019, requested them to come out to look at and adjust roof edge or gutter on front porch due to a slow leak (there is a small gap between gutter and roof trim edge). Two months of phone calls and email; refused to acknowledge or claimed that it was not covered under the so called LIFETIME warranty. Dishonest company. Will not recommend. read more

MAC left their flyer at my door after the summer hail storms. I called their office and a representative came over to give me an estimate. The rep who came introduced himself and said he was going to take a look around the house. I asked if I could join him and he said no problem. One thing I noticed was the guy wasn't really interested in the roof. In fact he did not even look at it. He was more interested in the screens and gutters, telling me his job is to get as much money from the insurance. This sent up red flags. Afterwards he wanted me sign a contract and to call the insurance company right away since he estimated 20K in damages. How do you estimate how much the costs are without taking measurements? The rep didn't even go on the roof! Avoid MAC, all they are interested in is to suck as much money out of your insurance company at inflated costs! read more
