I had my male feline altered at Corning Vet for just over $100.00, even tho his second ball had not dropped all the way.

Very upsetting experience for my wife today. Tried to have an ancient cat, euthanized. The poor cat is suffering with biting seizures/dementia, atrophied hindquarters, little bladder control, and obvious pain behavior and frequent yowling. The animal seized last weekend, and bit our daughter, leaving a deep wound. After we decided, and went through the emotional part of this process, their vet refused to euthanize. Instead, we were given a handout on keeping the cat comfortable. In all my years, I have never experienced, or heard of such a refusal. I guess the vet knows better, than the family who has lived nearly 18 years, with the cat. Needless to say we will no longer be bringing any of our pets to this clinic. I really dislike leaving a bad review, but to imagine another pet owner having to go through something like this is just appalling. read more

Doctor Krupa is a wonderful veterinarian. He really takes his time to make sure my cat feels safe and comfortable, and provides a lot of helpful information so I leave feeling really comfortable about my cats treatement. The ladies at the front desk are great too, usually very friendly! read more

Midvalley veteran never completed services we were charged for. We noticed some growths on our dog, but we were heading to my parents for Christmas, so we called Midvalley veterans and explained our situation. We were told that they could examine the dog, and remove the growths while we were in town. They charged us for an examination, a rabies shot which they required to see the dog and a biopsy on the growths. But after the consultation, they told us they were booked for three months, and could not remove the growths while we were still in town. We were highly disappointed, but figured we could have them removed when we were coming back up to my parents again and they said they would work with us to find a date when we were in town. We called after two weeks when we were never contacted back with the results, they said they would give a message to the vet. They never called us back. We called three more times between January and February, and it was the same thing every time. They told us they would leave a message for the vet, but we were never called us back. Finally after a month and a half, we called back to get a refund for the examination and the biopsy, since we had to take our dog elsewhere to be treated. We were told that they couldn't refund us at the moment, but that they would have to leave a message with the vet. I highly doubt they will call us back. We had to dispute the charge with our bank. We have dealt with some horrible Vets in our time, but this place is by far the worst. read more

Traveling from from Washington to California my furbaby got sick. Rosie? went out of her way to find me another veterinary practice to take him to, which is outstanding considering my destination is Tulare, Ca - 4 1/2 hours away. I was referred to them by a very nice gentleman and his wife (their daughter uses this vet also) at a rest stop 14 miles from this location. Everything I experienced was professional, caring and concern - if the actually care is even half as good as their customer service, do not hesitate to choose this office. Very impressed. read more

My wife and I have been taking our dogs and cats here for years. The staff is amazing, and I couldn't imagine taking my pets anywhere else. From emergency service (my dog broke his leg on a Sunday), to check ups and routine vaccinations, they do it all. I had a dog that had to be put down for health reasons, the the staff was empathic, caring, and made the horrible experience tolerable. I wish there was more than 5 stars available... This is an exceptional veterinary practice, and we've taken both our dogs and cats. They've also worked out a way to see animal patients during COVID while keeping pet owners safe, which is very appreciated. The staff is knowledgable and helpful, and the fact that they have several vets available ensures very quick appointment availability. read more

We were in Orland for the summer and I needed to bring my Pugs in for their Rabies vax & heartworm tests. I had been by this vet clinic and just liked the location and how professional it looked. I was not disappointed. The staff are so nice here and the vet. I didn't feel I was being pushed into any unnecessary shots or treatments. The techs and the vet were very good with my boys and I was extremely happy with their service. The vet saw one of my Pugs had an ear infection and sent me home with meds. She called a week later checking up on him. I really liked that. I would feel comfortable bringing them back here when we return to the area. read more

We have been taking our fur babies to Mid Valley for over 20 yrs. Dr Aquire and his wonderful staff have always provided our furbabie's with great care. In 2011 our precious little 11 yr old female toy fox terrier developed a large inoperable mast cell tumor on her head behind her left ear. When we had to let her cross the rainbow bridge Jerry's staff was so compassionate as I stood in the room giving my baby girl last hugs and kisses before saying goodbye. They didn't try to rush my husband and I out, but instead encouraged us to take all the time we needed. Now we have some crazy little girls who are not very cooperative and the staff is still great with these sweet little knuckleheads. We love our babies and we love MidVallley Vet. read more

Hello. I have used Mid-Valley for years when I lived in Orland. I also started using them again a few months ago for our dog, Zoey. Actually, we began to compare Mid-Valley to Walker Street by taking one of our dogs to each of the two Veterinarians. Our female when to Mid-Valley. Our male went to Walker. We started taking each of them to their veterinarian immediately after getting them which was just months ago. Here is my review for Mid-Valley: Zoey received her shots, other care visits, and got spayed at Mid Valley. I really liked the way they let me carry her back to her holding cage before the surgery. It was actually quiet back there, very clean, and they had a nice, cute and comfy blanket to put down for her. Here is my honest evaluation. Keep in mind, that I won't be taking her there, anymore: Positives: Clean, Professional, less loud and chaotic and less stressful than most in the waiting area, the male doctor (I assume the owner) called during and after her spaying surgery to 1. let me know she was done and how it went and 2. the next day to see how she was doing. Negatives: If you use CARE CREDIT, like I do - they should tell you immediately that their stringent, even-if-you-have-to-stop-going-there policy is you pay cash/check for whatever it may be if it comes to under 100.00. This was a big problem for me. We specifically got CARE CREDIT to use for our two dogs, knowing that as pet owners we needed to have money available for their unexpected needs. We are on a budget and unexpected bills can be devastating. However, much to my surprise when leaving from an appointment that was just under 60.00 - they told me at check out that I can't use the card. So that was an unexpected 60 bucks out of my bank account that week. And, the appointment I ruined my budget for was for her itching, which they gave me nothing to help her. I had to call in and talk to her doctor and tell her she definitely needs some itching help. So, it was going to be between 30 and 45 dollars now for that, which I can't put on Care Credit. Geeze. We had already been going there for a while and I thought we were getting settled, but there were "no exceptions" to this rule as they "have to make a profit, too". I specifically told them that I would have to go to another vet. They were a bit too comfortable in losing a customer. So, Walker Street it is. (Now I know why their waiting room is more quiet and less chaotic). Overall, if you have to watch your dollars, rely on using CARE CREDIT, or need immediate care for you baby - Mid Valley Veterinarian in Orland, CA is likely not the place for you. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO READ-ON ABOUT SPECIFIC DIFFERENCES: IF YOUR DOG HAS A PROBLEM WITH ITCHING: Mid-Valley gave a prescription called, Apoquel. It has some advantages, but you will pay a great deal more for this pill than other methods. Walker Street: They give a shot that works immediately and lasts a long time and recommends an over-the-counter supplement to go along with it. They carry the supplement for your convenience, but you can save money if you want to get it yourself. IF YOU HAVE AN IMMEDIATE NEED: Mid-Valley :In my personal opinion and observations, it is going to be next to impossible to get in here for an immediate, legitimate need. They will likely recommend Valley Oak in Chico, CA. Walker Street: it is likely that they will do everything possible to get you in. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR COMPASSION IN A CLINIC: Mid-Valley's compassion is limited by their need to make a profit. Walker Street: I have seen them give discounts to the homeless and payment arrangements to those in need. EXPERTISE: Mid-Valley: We had a young doctor who seems good, but a little green and slow/cautious to treat things. I believe the male doctor handled Zoey's spaying. He seemed knowledgeable over the phone. Walker Street: Dr. Dana is fantastic. Great communication, warmth and great knowledge. I had a real bad experience with another doctor there, but I believe he is gone. I make sure that we are getting Dr. Dana. FLEA TREATMENT: Mid-Valley: They do not do the treatment on the back of neck. They give a monthly pill that is expensive, but has benefits. They also offer a collar that lasts 8 months - even more expensive. Walker Street: They do the back of the neck treatment, monthly. Cost is very reasonable. STAFF THAT MAKES YOU FEEL WELCOMED, KNOWS YOU, KNOWS YOUR PET. Mid-Valley: Did not get cushy feeling from staff at all. However, the doctor did seem to remember me and Zoey and our past appointment(s). Walker Street: You do get that welcomed feeling and they seem to remember your dog and you - especially Dr. Dana. However, if it is hectic and crazy, obviously a lot less personalized care. read more
