    Exceptional Service -- Business Earned for Life…read more 5 Star Experience - must read! We brought our 2021 Kia Telluride to Strickland Brothers for a routine oil change. Some time after, I noticed a small oil drip. At that point, it was never even fully determined whether it was something they did or simply a failed seal on our end -- and honestly, it was probably a part failure. What happened next is what truly sets this company apart. Michael, the owner, personally called me and handled the situation with professionalism and integrity. Because the line wasn't entirely clear on whether the issue was a failed part or something related to the service, he took ownership of making it right. His focus was on standing behind the work, doing right by the customer, and building a long-term relationship -- not pointing fingers. They went way above and beyond. Kia is notorious for requiring OEM parts (aftermarket just won't work properly), so they had to track down a specific part. Michael and his team called multiple Kia dealerships, pulled strings, and somehow managed to get the part the same day, even though we were originally told it could take several days. That alone was impressive. They repaired the vehicle immediately -- and the next morning, Michael and his father personally delivered the car to my house. His father has over 40 years of experience working on vehicles and plays an active role in overseeing the work, which really shows. The two of them together are an impressive team. In conversation, I mentioned to Michael that part of my work involves helping businesses think through customer experience, and we talked about what it looks like to truly take care of people. The hardest time to do that is when it costs the business owner money. This repair did cost him money -- and he still did the right thing without hesitation. I've already referred many people to Strickland Brothers in the past because of consistently good service -- but this experience was different. I can confidently say I will never get my oil changed anywhere else, and I will be using Strickland Brothers for any automotive service they offer. I'll continue referring people without hesitation. This is only the second time in my entire life I've said this about a business: They've earned my business for life.

Both gentlemen exhibited excellent communication with me, with each other, with other staff members, and with other customers. I appreciate this as I had a dealership leave my oil cap off on a previous car before which led to smoking under the hood. The likelihood of this happening here is very low as everyone talks thru each step here if they complete part of a task in someone else's assignment. I have never seen old oil extracted before. It was interesting to watch. That part does in fact take ten minutes. The whole process for taking out the old oil, putting in new oil, and replacing two air filters I needed done took just under an hour as they were in fact short staffed. That is much better than any Pep Boys or dealership I have been to as both are usually slammed and you can expect several hours wait or two on a good day. I would prefer quality service over a rushed job any day, so this was fine by me. They even give you a nice cold water while you wait in your car. The gentlemen were so nice and very helpful, even answering questions I had about unrelated car issues with ease. And the advice worked too, so I appreciate that! Nobody tried to upcharge or upsell anything. Everybody was respectful and professional yet warm. I had a great experience. I had a 25% off coupon and the price still came out to $103 for a synthetic oil change with the discount. They charged me extra for my filter & extra oil (they only used four quarts of oil.) There's a reason why no prices are listed until you've already pulled in and committed. I had two coupons for $50 or less for the same synthetic oil change with mechanics, but they didn't have availability today. This is pure price gouging. But hey, they give you a bottle of water that cost 25 cents to make you feel like it's worth. Go somewhere else and save $50 plus. Update- I specifically asked them if the topped off all of my fluids and they said yes. This is my coolant level below minimum. I also paid for an extra half quart of oil because my car requires 5 1/2 quarts. I watched them put only four quarts of oil in my car. Now we get to check and top off all of the fluids ourselves, including adding a quart and a half of oil. Good thing we checked this or my car could have had some major issues!

It was easy to call ahead and see what the wait was. The time quoted was accurate and the process was easy. I dropped the car off and got a ride so I did not have to wait there. I returned on my own and even though the car was not ready yet, I found the waiting room welcoming. First off, there is lots of natural light. There is a small TV and some magazines, but I did not need them. The refreshments could have been better, but at least the chairs were comfortable. I was only waiting a short time and my car was ready. They even had time to do a courtesy check on my other car to see if the brakes needed replacing. This was free of charge!

My wife was getting ready to go on a road trip and the engine light came on. I wanted to get it checked out before she left. I quickly looked up service options and this was the one that opened the earliest and when I called they said they would work me in. I got there shortly after opening and true to their word they got me in, in minutes, even though they were already knee deep in customers. They diagnosed the issue... a throttle actuator.. which once they dug into it they said they need to replace the throttle body at a cost of 1200! Fortunately while I was waiting I did a lot of Google research on the issue. What I found out was that most mechanics just want to replace the throttle body, with this issue, instead of first just trying to clean it and resetting it. It does take a mechanic to do this.. it has to be removed, cleaned, and then recalibrated and synced to the car. Not something that I can do... heck I can barely change a tire. I asked if they could try cleaning it... they figured out how to charge me for that... and two hours later and 800 less in cost my car was working and my wife could go on her road trip. They did good work, got me in when they were completely booked up, and did the right thing when asked to. Would have been nice if they had offered the right solution in the first place... but in the end it all worked ok.
