Charlie Brown is the store manager at this location. He was friendly, informative and a straightforward type of guy. I went in for a feeble brake engagement problem on my 2001 Golf TDI that I suspected was due to a fault on the power steering vacuum system. It turned out to be true but they also discovered that the rear brakes were in pretty terrible shape. They also found a loose and noisy rattling heat shield on the exhaust plus my rear tires failed to impress Charlie as they were 9 years old! I was quoted 900 bucks for the whole package but decided to bail on the tire replacements (too expensive from the off the shelf stock) and the heat shield repair (noisy but the whole car's getting rattly). This saved me around $300.00 so the brake job cost around 600.00 - I thought that this was fair and Charlie did not try to upsell me. Would recommend this location as being fair and reasonable. read more

I've been to these guys many times, especially when the dealership wants to do $3000 worth of work to my car. They fix only what needs to be fixed and they do good work, and for much cheaper than the dealership. read more

This place is notorious for upselling. Needed to get my car inspected and was told it would cost 1200 dollars to address a check light engine. When I refused and stated I would take my business elsewhere Chris said he would get back to me, less than 5 minutes later the price was down to 400 dollars, for the same parts that he claimed I would have to spend 1200 dollars on to guarantee my driving safety after the auto repair. Great place to take your car. They are fair and I have never felt like I've been overcharged or mislead about the problems. Twice I've gone telling them I needed something replaced and they were the ones that suggested a cheap repair. Sometimes they underestimate how long things take. I really like these guys - they are fast, reliable and honest. I've found their prices to be commiserate with prices in the DC area. I definitely recommend them. I've seen them for multiple oil changes, rear shock replacement and other maintenance due to wear and tear. read more

Worst shop you can do oil change in they don't know what is costumer service standards are. they push you to get the expensive oil change they promise to top off all the fluids but they don't just check after them but seriously don't give your money for someone who doesn't appreciate doing business with you read more

They did a great job on my wife's car. They changed the front tires and did and alignment since that was the reason for the worn tires. There took care of her suspension issue as well, I didn't believe them till I saw the guy show me how bouncy the car was. They handled everything professionally. This is the first Yelp review I have ever written and I am only doing so because I am compelled to tell people to STAY AS FAR AS POSSIBLE AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. They recently got new management (within the past year I believe) and the manager tries to upsell you on everything if you don't know that much about cars. He is very manipulative and acts like he cares about you and your money, but really, the only thing he is thinking about is the bottom line and how he can make more money off of you. The last couple of times I took my car in for an oil inspection, he tried to fix hundreds of dollars worth of things in my car and I allowed him to do so because I trusted that he had my best interests in mind and wouldn't try to screw me out of my money. Last time I went in, he acted like my car was in terrible shape and would fail inspection unless I got hundreds of dollars worth of repairs. I had a feeling he was being manipulative and just wanted my money, so I brought it to another place very far away (in Richmond) with an owner my father has known for years. They confirmed that my car was fine (just needed minor repairs, about 1/10th of the price Midas was trying to fix me for) and that the owner at Midas was just trying to scam me out of my money. I can't believe I allowed these people to take care of my car for so long and screw me out of my hard earned money. I hope no one makes the same mistakes I have made here multiple times. read more

I pulled into this MIdas emergently when my back tire starting making a horrible noise as I pulled off Hwy 66. I had the brakes worked on at Sears the day before. Junior and his staff checked my car and found that the caliper on the back brake had not been replaced correctly, and it had fallen off while driving. The rim was scratched slightly as well. Midas charged me no fee to look at the vehicle. They also told me the issue and that Sears should be responsible. Great service in a stressful situation! read more

I'll say upfront I did not actually get a repair at this location. My car was slowly dying and I happen to be able to coast into the Midas parking lot. Just by my description they were sure the problem was the alternator. This was upsetting because it was just replaced 2 months ago. They took me out to show me that the bolts and strap that hold the alternator in had come off and the thing was left dangling by the pulley. They said the dealer should cover this and suggested I tow it back there. I did and it is being taken care of. I thought all of the guys were great and they really helped me out in a very stressful situation. I would definitely use them. read more

I'm all too familiar with taking my 2011 Jeep to the dealer's service center. I decided to give Midas a try and could not have been happier with the service provided and the friendly staff. In particular, Chris was exceedingly professional and friendly. Midas spent well over an hour or two working to diagnose the issue with my Jeep. Once diagnosed, I went to pay the bill and was charged less than $100. In my experience, just the couple of hours of labor at a normal service center would exceed $200. Never, ever take your car. We had used them for years, but not again. I question the ethics of this place. We had run up several large bills on a 2007 Dodge Caravan. It was recently inspected and passed. A couple of months later we went in for another purpose and was instructed it needed all new brakes. Recently my son was using the car and it started smoking when he turned on the AC. So we took it in. Then we were told it needed new valves and a new AC compressor and a big bill of over $1,000. We decided not to go ahead with the repairs. Since we seldom use that car we decided to get rid of it. We asked the tech at Midas if they knew of anyone who might want it. He said someone might be interested for $1,000. Sounded good. When the purchaser came to Exxon to get the car, he had to come to our house to get the seats for the van. While my wife talked to the purchaser, it became clear that the tech has listed in to Craig's list for $1,800 and claimed it was in good condition and had fewer miles than it really did. The purchaser said he didn't want to pay that much for a car with valve problems and a dodgy air conditioner. My wife and the purchaser went to the Midas and insisted on getting his money back. Then the tech said someone had to pay $400+ for the repairs we told him not to do and $95 for looking at the car even though he said there would be be no charge, The tech lied through his teeth. He didn't want to give a receipt for the claimed work. With this experience, I wonder how much of my previous work was needed. This is a long confusing story, but DON"T USE THIS PLACE. read more

I came in for an oil change. I wrote on my sheet that I wanted regular oil. They instead put in expensive blend without asking my permission. A mechanic should never do anything to your car that will cost you extra without checking with you. read more

I went to this place in December 2010 to get my car fixed (battery died on me and I also rotated tires and got 2 new snow tires). While their service seemed decent enough and they were quick/friendly, 6 months later I discovered that their work was flawed. The battery they installed was smaller than required and didn't follow the guidelines that are available (this is what a AAA guy who came to jump-start my car told me), and wasn't even properly screwed in place. And the tires they rotated to the front started leaking air through the valves and had to be replaced. Both of them! I don't think this is a coincidence - don't go to these guys, they don't seem to care about the quality of their work. read more

We just stopped to have a tire checked; the warning light was on. My husband went into the office, and explained the problem. The manager said they would check it after finishing with other cars. By the time he returned to our car, one of the employees approached our car, and began checking the tires; he found there was a nail in one of the front tires, which he showed to my husband. We agreed to have it repaired, and he proceeded to patch, plug and repair the tire; he was polite, and impressed us with his efficiency as he watched him work. When my husband went back to the office, the owner/manager was rude, and at first charged us over $70 for the repair, when my husband questioned the amount, he was told it was for the tire repair plus an oil change. After confirming that we did not have an oil change he did reluctantly agree to refund $32. We agree with other customers that this is not a professional nor honest business, even though they do have some good people working for them. We will not return, we suggest that you do not go there. read more

I'm a young & frugal female with an old car and absolutely clueless about car maintenance. My brother in law suggested this place. I've been back many times for various services. Got new break pads here and an evap system fixed. I'm telling you- this place has the best prices in town. I don't know how they get away with it. The owner, junior, is honest, knowledgeable, and overall pleasant to deal with. He always takes the time to explain to me what is wrong with my car and what i need to fix now rather than later. He runs his shop with efficiency and integrity. A huge plus is his shop allows you to buy your own parts and his guys will only charge for labor. Also coupons available online. Reposting because this site buried my initial positive review... and yet left up a 1 star review with the same number as reviews as me... that's unfair and unbalanced! Great pricing, overall good customer service. They use new OEM parts. They fixed my air conditioning a while back and I said I would write a review here about their stellar service and never got around to signing up for this site. More recently, I did my inspection here and something on my engine (a belt?) had broken so I failed the inspection. I went to my official Honda dealer and they scratched my car door and raised their initial cost of $200 to over $500 with a bunch of repairs that had nothing to do with my state inspection. Went to a friend's recommended dealer and they quoted me double the price Midas quoted me and then told me Midas would use bum parts for that price. Went back to Midas who guaranteed my price, new parts, and a one-year warranty. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because I gave them my original receipt and when I came back to pick up my car they lost my receipt and then charged me me an extra $20 bucks in an arbitrary recalculation : ( That being said, the price was still half the price of the other shops! I'll be going here from now on for my car needs, but will keep a hold of my receipt or pay up front! By the way, the guys that work there are so nice too! I know nothing about cars and I don't like driving, so it would be very easy to take advantage of me when it comes to car repair--I asked them about all the repairs that Honda tried to convince me I had to have immediately, and they said those things weren't needed and that they would just monitor my car and maintain only what is necessary. Needed belt replaced due to that annoying high pitch whine. Turned out that part of the assembly was still good and could be reused. Saved some cash due to their integrity. Chris also went out of his way and purchased an iPhone charger for the waiting room after I inquired for my dying phone - that's top notch customer service not often found. read more

Do not take these clowns your car, ever. This is the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. I prefer to support local businesses and live in the area but will never again step foot in this place. I brought my SUV here for a state inspection and oil change but was given the run around over three days regarding various problems the all star crew here supposedly identified in my vehicle. I was given completely contradictory information over the phone and ultimately arrived to pick up my car to find that nothing had been done at all. When I asked the manager why I was told on the phone the service had been completed, after personally insulting me, he said, "why don't you just take your car and leave?" If your car breaks down in front of this place, do yourself a favor and have it towed somewhere else, anywhere else. read more

Midas on Lee Highway was my second diagnosis of a rattling loud emitting from the right side of my Honda. The first diagnosis was at Firestone in McLean...a bent resonating bar totaling $450 for labor, and parts. My husband believed this to be questionable. We opted for a Midas diagnosis on Lee Highway. Though, moderately business, a guy came out almost immediately to ride with me in my Honda for the rattling noise. Soon after, my car was lifted, and the diagnosis was a damaged rear heat shield....the part needed to be ordered. Cost $146.25 vs $450 with a bogus diagnosis from Firestone. The guy at the reception desk said he would call when the replacement shield arrived on Wednesday, most likely. The guy at reception called me a day early, who addressed himself as Charlie, to say the part was in, and they would replace it as soon as I arrived. As I waited at Midas for my Honda to be repaired, I had the opportunity to listen to the manner in which Charlie dealt with walk-ins and customers calling in. He was extremely respectful, forthright, and on top of the business. I later learned he was the manager...Charlie Brown. I will return and spread the word to my friends to seek out Charlie. I just hope his supervisors know the value he personally adds to the business, and he is compensated fairly. read more

Took car in for an oil change. They said my transmission fluid was very dirty and needed to be serviced. I showed them receipt from Sept 2015 that showed they had replaced fluid and filter. They replaced filter and fluid at no charge. read more

Had a coolent hose break off my heater core on the way to work. Pulled in and asked if they could clamp a tube into the in/out coolent hoses, bypassing the heater core. Came back to pick it up, they charged me $100 labor (it's a 5 min job, said they had to charge a minimum of 1 hour labor) and $29 for the connecting tube. The next day, car runs out of coolent. I look and the $29 part is a used metal pipe that had been hacksawed. I went to AutoZone and got a coolent elbox for $3.99. For $129, I thought the fix should have not leaked for at least one day. read more
