I initially came in for an oil change and tire rotation, later adding a coolant flush. Service advisor John S. seemed patient and decent when I first arrived. That impression didn't last. When I picked up my car, there was no mention of any damage. Yet, less than an hour later, I noticed one of my rims was freshly scuffed--deep into the center, where no "normal" curb rash would ever reach. I called John immediately, and he told me to come back. Upon arrival, I was met by mechanic Clement K-A and John, who wasted no time in denying any responsibility. Their go-to responses? "You have the photos," and, "If it were us, there'd be yellow paint from our lift arms." I asked for surveillance footage from the bay area, and--unsurprisingly--was dodged. The photos they provided during service were conveniently blurry, and only showed two out of my four rims. When I asked about the missing angles, Clement brushed it off with, "It's on the other side." As a woman who initially felt reassured by what I thought were professional, respectable men, I was instead met with dismissiveness, deflection, and an outright refusal to take accountability. We went back and forth for 10-15 minutes, during which they kept pushing the absurd claim that I must have hit a curb or driven over a pothole. A curb would have to be two feet high to reach the center of my rim--and even then, it wouldn't leave the clean, precise damage that's clearly visible in my photos. I also have clear dashcam footage of my drive after leaving the shop, showing I didn't so much as graze a curb or pothole. 0/10. I will not be returning, and I sincerely hope other women think twice before trusting these two men with their vehicles. read more

My experience was top notch. Stopped in for a inspection. Greeted well by Adam who taken care of my inspection. He was very polite and professional. The lobby was clean and well lit. There was no backed up customers nor any customers complaining. Even the service mechanics were friendly. One came in the lobby and said hello as well. My husband brought our vehicle to the Midas on Lincoln Ave with a dead battery after the Polar Vortex. The representatives told us that there were only 2 batteries for our car left in the area and quoted the price of $270 for the less expensive (vs $320 for the other), which was coming from Auto Zone. It seemed unreasonably high, so I contacted Auto Zone directly. Not only did they have them in stock, but they were only $159 plus $18 disposal fee. The representative called his manager and the price was adjusted accordingly, but I am absolutely appalled that they blatantly lied to us and were willing to price gouge us like that. We have been there before with no issues, but this was absolutely shameful. We will not be returning. read more

I took my car in for a simple ball joint replacement. The store manager talked me into using snap finance and getting more services done at a discounted price. I left the car with them and came back to fill out a finance application that the store manager was super adamant about. That whole process took 1 and a half hours itself. I leave thinking I had my fluids flushed and filled and my wheels aligned. That was not the case. The car left with the same problems it came in with and when I went back to confront them they admitted they alignment machine was down and that they were pretty sure my wheels were aligned. My steering wheel showed otherwise. The noise I brought it in for was still there. They didn't even give me the correct diagnostic sheet for me car, it was to another car. Window sticker for oil? non existent. The customer service sucks there and they can't even do the most simple jobs. What was supposed to be a easy 1-2 fix turned into a 4 month ongoing nightmare. Words cannot explain the all consuming hatred I have felt for this business on several occasions. After going in for a routine brake job one fine spring day I was subsequently submersed into a rotor shaped circle of Hell not described by Dante. My initial experience at this particular Midas was as pleasurable as could be expected for this service -- a slight irritation that melted as I drove away. That was until I came to my first stop and heard the first of many squeals, moans, and maniacal laughter emitted from my now possessed brakes. Having just paid for what I was told were two of Midas' best brake pads I figured my brakes just needed a little breaking in. In fact, as I left the mechanic told me it would be about 100 miles before they really performed well. Well, this man must have been a mystic, because my wife and I did receive several moments of transcendence as a result of this promised performance through several near death experiences. As it turned out the noises were the least of my problems. Apparently these brakes were designed to stop groaningly at slow city speeds, and to utterly protest any application of pressure to their delicate constitution when traveling at Dan Ryan speeds. Although I do occasionally enjoy escaping the confines of my reality I prefer to do it on my own schedule. Thus, I returned to Midas and explained in a restrained manner my consternation with my new brakes. After waiting two hours I was told that the problem (misaligned pad) had been fixed. Again, I left and allowed my growing irritation dissipate with each city block only to return as fully blown hatred one block from my apartment. A few days pass and I return to Midas to more forcefully state my growing list of issues with the work they've performed. During this visit I was treated to a nearly three hour vacation with months old People magazines. Again, I was told the problem was fixed, and I left wondering about job opportunities at the local post office. Needless to say the problem was not fixed and another trip to Midas was necessary. On this occasion I only waited an hour and a half and was told the pads must have been defective. I was then assured that the new pads they had just put on the car would be fine. They weren't fine. Instead I ended up taking the car to another mechanic and spending another $180 for brake pads that actually did work and continue to work today. read more

Local Midas, how I resent you. Every time I took in the family minivan, there was always five more problems than what I expected. Not because there were problems, but because they told me there were. On one occasion, the work they did had to be reversed, because they didn't do it properly. Another time, the work they did, wasn't needed. It actually worsened the state of the car. I had to take it to another auto shop because they couldn't figure out the original problem and the new! Trying to get them to refund me was more headaches. This Midas is only an option when you break down nearby and can't afford towing to your usual place. Some of the mechanics are decent respected guys. Its the main business which is shiesty. Not all of the mechanics are at the same mechanically educated level. If you do happen here, find out who worked on your car and always ask for that mechanic. You'll save yourself some headache. Also, PLEASE! take your car to a free inspection auto shop and find out their look on what needs doing before visiting this Midas. read more

He greeted me warmly and took the time to explain my issue and how to resolve it. Eric was my tech and he was able diagnose the problem right away. I was worried that the problem would be worse, but I was fortunate that it was not. I was really lucky that Joel, Joe (the other manager) and Eric were not only efficient, but HONEST. WARNING!!! DO NOT COME TO MIDAS!! I came in for a radiator sensor replacement and they completely TOTALED my car and took 0 fault!! My dodge was running great prior. They treated me like i was stupid. Told me I needed coolant flushes and minor things. I agreed assuming they knew what they were doing. L They return the car to me with lights on that weren't on previously. They treated me like I was stupid yet again. They told me the car was safe just for them to completely TOTAL MY CAR!! They never refilled the antifreeze!! Killed my engine! Lost me my car because of their lack of attention. The employee even said the mechanic wasn't the best but he made me believe they would ensure the car and I were safe. THEY FORGOT TO ADD THE ANTIFREEZE!! ARE YOU KIDDING?! I went there to get my tire patched, it has a slow leak. They said the nail damage is at an angle and they cannot patch at that location. I said ok, understandable, then I asked can I get my full size spare swapped with the damaged tire, and they said sure. When everything was done, they said you are good to go, and everything is in the car. I went to my car and my tire lock key was missing, I went back in to retrieve it, and then I confirmed if my car keys are in the car, and they said yes. I went back to my car and my car keys were also missing, I went back in and they seemed a little confused, then they found my car keys. I went back to my car and drove off to a nearby store to purchase some stuff. When I got the stuff and I opened my trunk to place those in there, my old tire was completely tossed in there all over my personal stuff. My spare tire is supposed to be under mounted, instead of placing my old tire back under the car, they just tossed it in the trunk over my stuff. They used my tools to remove my under mounted tire, after they were done, instead of placing my tools back in their protective case, they tossed my tools all over my trunk. It took exactly 2 hours and towards the end , the service specialist or the manager tells me I need lots of repairs and mentions laundry list of "things needed to be repaired & replaced". Total estimate he said would cost me came to $1800 something with about $600 in labor cost. I said NO THANKS. The service worker inside the shop tells me my tires are good except everything else and that I was ready to go. I asked if he rotated my tires and he said its not needed. They needed to be repaired, so I went ahead and did it. Their pricing was fair, and they had coupons they allowed me to use.
