Just awful. I went in to get a hub replacement, and had a four-hour time limit, which the manager assured me would not be an issue, not even close. Four hours and fifteen minutes later, I'm pacing the waiting area because I have an important meeting to get to, I look through the window and the mechanic working on my car has come full-stop to watch a video on his buddy's phone. So I'm late, the car isn't done, and two mechanics are screwing around on their phones. The manager hears my frustration, and goes into the shop, but of course by this time the mechanic is back at work. The manager gives me the number of the regional manager, and it's been eight days of me calling and leaving messages. Still haven't spoken to him directly. Oh yes, and now my steering column shakes whenever I push the accelerator past 25 mph. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

Not to be trusted. Their oil change service was supposed to include a tire rotation, which they did not perform. In addition they ignored the tire pressure specification for my vehicle and overinflated tires by 3 pounds. Unnecessary and expensive service recommendations were made, including a questionable repair for a new part that was installed within the last year. read more

The only thing these guys have done for my car has been given me an oil change. The first time I did it they got it done real quick, all went well, awesome price because they had a little sale thing going on, I came back about 3 months later and got another one done, they said they were busy and they weren't sure if they'd be able to get to me same day but I asked PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE and they remembered me, were really cool about it, finished it up in about an hour while I waited and I went on my way. I'd recommend them, at least for an oil change. read more

I've been very happy with this place and that comes from someone who is always skeptical of being ripped off by mechanics. I went for an oil change and fluid check for my car because I had a coupon and figured I'd try the place out. Ironically, on my way there my car started squealing like crazy when I accelerated. They checked out the car and found it was a locked up calliper and were able to get the part and fix it and the brake pad and rotor that were worn down within an hour. It took less time than I expected and was for a reasonable price, in my opinion. Only downside was that they also rotated my tires, which had already been rotated not too long before that, so when they did it again, my car pulled to the right a lot. I realized this when I left and pulled over and called them to see if they could fix it. Even though they had just closed for the day, they let me come back in for a quick fix, which was awesome. The next time I went in was because my car was shaking at fast speeds on the toll way. I figured the tires needed to be balanced and they agreed that was the best place to start. Apparently they really needed it, so they fixed it and it drives awesomely smooth now. At that visit, the mechanic also fixed the hood of my car, which he said wasn't closing properly. I had no idea and I'm grateful that he noticed that and took care of it on the house. I feel like these guys are really honest. When they checked my car over, they explained what things were urgent to fix and what wasn't, with detailed explanations of the problem and why I could or couldn't wait to fix stuff. I was very clear that I was concerned about safety, since I drive my baby around, but that I didn't have the money to get everything fixed all at once, and they gave me the info I needed to decide what to do on my car to keep it safe without going broke. I came in today for a routine oil change and ran in to the new manager Johnny. He is extremely friendly and helpful. I bought a set of tires from TIRE RACK and had them shipped to one of their installers (midas) at 6301 lincoln Ave. Chicago. The manager tried to overcharge me from Tire Rack quote supplied. then I showed him the quote and he still overcharged me by $10.00. First thing I found out when cleaning tires that night was that they installed them inside out on sidewall and they didn't remove the old weights and just added more. So I returned the next morning and the different manager said she was sorry and the tech will correct as soon as he arrives. I waited a hour and he came out and looked at the tires blaming me for not telling him how to install them and not balancing tires with TPMS sensor that screw on like a cap. He told me he wouldn't have time to correct it and to come back later. So I called the manager 3 HOURS LATER and she told me to return and they will take care of me right away. I told both managers that I needed sensor on valve when balancing. Well he didn't install the tire the way TIRE RACK instructs with blue arrow pointing at valve on 3 tires and a different tech installed 4th tire in correct direction, but didn't remove old weights. And for the second time, didn't balance with sensors, INSTEAD HANDED ME THE SENSORS TO PUT ON MYSELF. I have turned to TIRE RACK to help resolve the problem. Service? GREAT! Integrity? Awesome! I spoke with Andy(who happened to be the manager)about my A/C unit not working right on my SUV. He took it in for an inspection,found the leak, found my name in the system only to inform me that I was previously there under a year ago (a paid A/C charge I've forgotten about)which qualify me a a free A/C. He also put in a dye and asked me to come back to double check for any other leak. That's what I call the Midas touch! read more

Amazing service at this Midas location. Joe, was super helpful diagnosing the problem with my Ford Escape. I explained the best I could the issue I was having while braking over the phone and he had me stop in and we test drove the vehicle right away! After he had a good idea of the issue we returned and they put it on a lift and sure enough, the bad rotors were the issue. Because they weren't super slammed at the moment, Joe was able to have it worked on right away, and he even had two techs at the time to speed up the service. I know that when shops are busy this isn't always possible, but the fact they went the extra mile when they could was VERY much appreciated. The other service techs here were also very friendly. Highly recommend this place! Super up-front and trustworthy place to go. Also, I had shocks, struts, and tie rods done here a year and a half ago, and although I don't remember the tech staff specifically, I do remember a great experience with this service as well). read more

Ok so am always scared that am gonna be rip off but after they explained and quoted me on what was wrong with my murano I felt better. They showed me exactly what was wrong and my choice to fix or not. All I can say is my truck is running like new. Did an oil change sway bar replacement new muffler fixed a tired and front brakes. I stopped off at Midas because I saw an 'oil spill' coming from underneath my car after buying gas. The gas station attendant told me there was a Firestone nearby. On my way there, I saw Midas and decided to stop there. As I was standing there trying to see if I was still spilling oil, Danielle came outside. I told her why I was there and right away I felt better. She said they would check to see if was oil, but more than likely it was water from the air conditioning. It was a very hot day. Anyway too late to make a long story short. No oil spill. But I did get oil changed and my front brakes replaced. I'd been putting them both off. Lazy. Anyway car is running smoothly. Big shout out to Kim. I've never experienced this kind of service before. This was the best experience I've ever had at an auto shop. I had recently had some repairs done & something was wrong again with my car, so I brought it in, expecting another expensive repair, but they told me what was wrong was covered from the last repairs & it would be totally free. They could've easily told me otherwise. This time a strut broke. As I talked with Kim I was concerned about my car (it's old, but has low mileage). She said she'd have the mechanic inspect it when he was through. I said I'd pay for that but she said not to worry about it. I was shocked. Seriously, I said, you're also going to give me a free inspection? Of course, she responded. Just shocked. When I came back they were just finishing & started the inspection, but since I was there Kim invited me to come look with her & she talked about different things, like rust, etc. She found another problem & fixed it. Again, no charge. Then they found that Jiffy Lube didn't tighten something properly & there was a tiny leak. She told me to take it back to them & have them fix it. She put it in the notes, so I could show them. Then they found that my axle was also messed up & the manager said how he wanted to do this right & to come back in about 1 1/2 hours. They ALSO replaced my axle FREE. Kim is without a doubt the nicest person I've ever met at a mechanic shop. Her professionalism was way more than I've ever experienced. Suffice it to say, wherever Kim works is where I'm going to take my car. For oil changes too. read more

I showed up to get an oil change (without an appointment), and although they were very busy, the manager Joe offered to service my car right then and there! My car was ready in about 20 minutes. That being said, when you go, I recommend making an appointment. I've recently moved to the area, and I will definitely be going to Midas for all of my car's needs from now on!! read more

I just left from this Midas and GOD I had such a bad experience. I've never experienced such poor customer service. It was clear to me that people there do not want to do their job. I got an oil change done from this place and they are supposed to do a complimentary check and tell customers what is wrong with the car and what not. I wasn't told any of it. When i asked the rep, I was told that the car is ready and I should make the payment. The mechanic refused to give me the rude cashier's name. I saw it on the receipt might be Angel or something. Anyhow, it doesn't matter coz I'm never returning to this place. You just lost a loyal customer! read more

i brought my car in for an oil change. 3 hours later when i came to pick it up it seems that they were still looking at my car. 1/2 hour later after midas inspected my car i had to call a tow truck because i now have a bad front axle. it just seems very suspicious that after midas looked at my car that did not have anything wrong with it, now i have to have my car repaired. i have not had anything wrong with my car and now i have a very expensive repair. i do not know what midas did to my car but i will never and i mean never use them ever again. i have had things like this happen before but minor repairs. now i will be spending alot to have my car repaired. it just seems that midas has had problems before like this and as i said before-i will never even with a coupon for minor repairs- ever take my car there. i will be telling all my friends in and around the neighborhood that do not do business with midas. they screw up your car so one has to come back to them for more business. there has been another time that i took my car and told them just an oil change but they play around with your car to tell you other things that wrer wrong with the car so they can make more money. if a business is in business to do business like this- i think they should be put out off business. read more
