Recently went in for an oil change and found that there was coolant splatter all over my vehicle engine bay. After a compression test on the cooling system, they said everything was okay and no leak was found. While driving home, the car began overheating so I ended up towing it to the Toyota dealership. At the dealership they found that a rock had gone through the radiator and was leaking everywhere. Not sure how this Midas did a compression test and completely missed the rock through the radiator as it was a substantial leak. I definitely will not be taking my vehicle back to this location as their mechanics obviously have no clue what they're doing. read more

It was nicely air conditioned and the desk manager even turned on a hot spot from his phone for WiFi. I was very pleasantly surprised with this Midas location! I walked in, no appointment, with my brakes grinding and scraping and they got me taken care of in exactly 1 hour. Avoid this shop! Total scam artist. Came in for oil change and they told me I need new front brakes and rotors for $900! They said they do not turn rotors and mine had hotspots so they need to be replaced. I refused to pay that much for brakes and said to just do the oil change. Next day I went to Les Schwab for their free brake inspection and guess what! Brakes are totally fine. Less than 1/2 way used up. Midas also did a brake flush that I did not approve and charged me $80 more! I told Abbott that I did not approve that and he refused to take it off the invoice, and told me they would give me $30 off my oil change next time I come in. Like I would ever come in again. They really tried to sell me on the complete brake package. I am so glad I said no. I really do not like giving horrible reviews like this. Brought my Van in for oil change on June 16th, They said I needed to replace: Valve Cover Gaskets, Transmission Pan Gasket, Rear Main Oil Seal and Control Arms / Ball Joints. After $4300 worth of work. I brought it home just to find it leaking Transmission Fluid, I brought it back on June 26th, again on July 2nd, on July 9th and again today July 16th. TRANSMISSION PAN LEAKING!!!!! This is my only vehicle, this is costing me money, time, gas money, anguish, my time is precious. This shop is horrible. I brought it here in 2018 everything was OK, not superb. But ever since covid happened this place is in the dumps. I figured Midas​ is a National respected name everything should be on the up and up. They change employees here like I change socks. Can't get in touch with regional manager, to get reimbursed for my time, every week I am out of my vehicle for 3 days as it's in midas shop, trying to get fixed what should've been fixed 5 visits ago. I give 1 star, if I could give half a star I would give that instead. I've never seen this before in my life, I have had that Transmission pan gasket replaced 2 times since I bought this van back in summer of 2017. read more

They "mess things up" often. I paid for a tire rotation along with an oil change, and guess what? The tires weren't rotated! I had to drive back to Midas and wait another 40 minutes on top of the 5 hours my car was already in the shop for. The workers really thought I was some sucker who didn't know what a tire rotation was. When I talked to them on the phone about this, they said we could see about some form of compensation for my time and inconvenience, as I had to come back again to do the rotation. No mention of compensation as well, and I was honestly too tired of the whole fiasco I didn't push it. Customer service is lacking as well here This wasn't the first time this Midas has pulled something like this, they have also messed up my mom's brake system, costing us more to replace everything at the dealer. A dealer up charge is much more worth it compared to service here, since it saves you the headache of whatever stunt they pull at Midas. I recommend everyone to stay away from this shop. If you can't be trusted with a simple tire rotation, how can you be trusted for anything else. read more

I took my 4Runner in a few months ago and had my struts replaced. The same symptoms my suv was having back then is back but worse! I took my suv into another shop because it logistically worked for me at the time and they told me that Midas used o'Reilly parts instead of OEM parts (Toyota parts) - this is important to note because the amount of pressure that's placed on those parts is too heavy for o'Reilly parts especially considering I drive up and down hwy 50 because I drive 2-3 days between Folsom and Pollock Pines. This is a safety issue and it's frustrating that a company is profiting at the expense of people not being aware that cheap parts are being used. I travel for work and rely on my vehicle to safely get me to and from home and when a company isn't operating out of integrity that's concerning. I'm scheduled to have them fix it this Saturday so we'll see if they do the right thing in making sure they replace it with quality parts. Would give zero stars if I could. We have a 2017 Chevy Silverado that has been into their shop 4 times now for the same repair that they can't seem to fix correctly. The truck went originally for Freon and hose repairs- $1200. Problem persisted and it went back two times for an additional hose repair and additional Freon for another $500. Now it is still not blowing cold air and the condenser needs to be replaced for another $500. The manager continues to charge labor fees despite requiring 4 additional visits to fix the original problem- zero customer service quality. It was quite the afternoon just to get an oil change at Midas. You walk in thinking how long this is going to take. Unfortunately, you walk out thinking that wasn't quite long enough. I need more time with Peyton. What other knowledge can I pick from his dirty little noggin and clean dawn hands. While Josh works on my oil change and every two minutes, he gets the munchies and comes in to raid the under stock vending machine. James does what he does best and gives free tours of the facility while giving a play by play of the pros and cons of each vehicle in the world. Nonetheless, on top of being experienced entertainers, they just so happen to know the ropes around vehicles as well. They spot something on my car that Hyundai dealership missed the day before in a very detailed inspection I had with them. Go figured a dealership that specializes in Hyundais wasn't that great in specializing after all. But Midas saw it just by a visual. Well, Mr. Munchies did. I went in to have my Air Conditioner fixed in my car. I said to them "do whatever it takes but FIX it". After spending $350 they said the AC was fixed and ready to go! He said I have a 90 day warranty on the AC. 2 weeks later it stops working. I bring it in and they say it needs almost $600 MORE to fix it. Really??? I was here 2 weeks ago and you said it's fixed. It's not fixed. They never inspected the AC system completely. Now it needs a radiator fan!? Why didn't you fix it the first time??? Now I'm driving around in a oven for a car. I brought my car here and it needed a new control arm so I got all four brakes also. Plus they fixed a leak somewhere . They kept it for four days didn't even have a rental for me, they did not offer to drive me or Uber me. When it was done I took it home after $1,945 later. I was driving it and it was in bad shape it was skipping and all the Danger lights were on. THEY SHOULD HAVE DID A THOROUGH TEST DRIVE before releasing it to me. Dan the guy at the desk said bring it back, so I did and the conclusion was it had a defaulted part that they supposedly ordered. I was thinking it was a used part. I'm over-the-top disappointed, stressed, irritated, and I will never go there again. If I was on the freeway I would have been most likely in a bad accident, or worse. To put a wound on my disappointment they also claim they gave me a lot of discounts. I don't believe it. I was so patient and nice a total of 6 days and I still don't have my car I missed an extremely important appointment, I missed work, and I stood home without a car. Went in for my normal oil change. Was shown my air filter which was brown. I wondered out loud that it was so dirty, the techy, a girl, said probably all the smoke. I didn't purchase one as I save $10 doing my own. When I went to change it, the very next day, mine was almost clean. Not brown! Who's filter did they show me? I had a screw in two tires on the right side. She came in again and told me IO needed tires. I asked her to look up my warranty. She told me she couldn't, even though I purchased my tires in that store. She just left. The mechanic came in and told me one tire could be repaired and the other couldn't so I should buy two tires as I shouldn't get just one. That makes sense until I went to Americas Tire. They fixed both my tires. FREE! In my conversation with Erick from Midas, the next day did apologize but insisted they did nothing wrong. Actually defended the girl's lie. I have been patronizing that store for 5 years. I was insulted and flabbergasted that they would try to deceive a customer of 81 years after 5 years of loyal patronage. read more

I needed an oil change recently and so I decided to make an appointment at this Midas location. The location is excellent- right in the middle of Folsom! I spoke to a person on the phone and he was highly professional and kind. *I was informed that the latest appointment is at 3:00 pm during the week- just as a heads up. Once I brought it in- I was greeted and assisted right away. JOE was phenomenal. He was so kind and so helpful. I really appreciated his customer service. People like him are the reason why I like to return my business here. I came in at about 2:50 for a 3:00 appointment. My car was worked on right away- I was quoted the price, I had to sign the paperwork and made sure that I agreed to everything being done. They do a free service check. Thankfully my car passed. The oil I requested was synthetic. That is higher priced but definitely WORTH it if you want good maintenance on your vehicle. My car is 2016, so that's what I use. All together it cost about $79.00. Really decent and fair price- I don't have to return for another 6 months about. I recommend this place and the people working here will definitely take care of you! read more

If I could leave a O review I would. My last experience with Midas Muffler was awful. I brought my car in several times (6 or 7 times) because of brakes squeaking. Each time the mechanic test drove my car he could not hear anything and I was told without hearing anything there was nothing they could do. When my son took in the car, the mechanic or Manager did hear a squeaking sound. After 6 or 7 times really! It was discovered I needed rotors replaced.. A few visits prior I was only told I needed Struts. The District Manager was only offering me a $50.00 coupon off for my inconvenience. I asked for $100.00 off of the cost of the repairs for my wasted time and energy for all the times I returned to Midas with the same problem and it was declined. I asked for a free oil change as well and that was declined by the Manager who finally offered me a $15.00 discount. I brought my car to Midas many times and spent a lot of money on repairs. Sadly, Midas was willing to lose a good customer instead of doing the right thing! read more

She got me in right away without rescheduling an appointment. She was so personable and make everything seamless. They all waited to take their lunch to help me and while the car was being worked on. I was very disappointed to find that my brakes purchased just a year ago were cracked and manufactured incorrectly. If this is the case, I should not have had to pay for a new brake job (less the cost of the pads) when they were incorrectly manufactured. I think Midas should try to get a refund for my costs from the brake manufacturer and then refund me for the brake job. I appreciate that the Midas employee tried to get me the best deal he could but, still, my brakes should not have failed so soon -- I only had 8500 miles on my van since the previous brake job. If you want me as a customer, you need to do better! read more

Well I like the Midas on Greenback Lane, but the one in Folsom is no where near as good. Now I have more repairs to do on my car a few months after I had it repaired at this location. After calling them to inquire about their work, they acted unapologetically. **If you cannot find a better place, and go here to have a CV boot and axel replaced, make sure they replace the axel seal as well. A 12 dollar part that is able to be replaced easily when the axel is already removed for replacement. I will never go back to this Midas again. read more

I don't recommend this location. I went in because my car was driving funny and my check engine light was on. They told me I needed a new transmission, which was strange because I only have around 43,000 miles in my car and don't really drive anywhere except work an school. They proceed to try to sell me a used transmission that had 100,000 miles on it for $3,500, it was $129 for them to do just the diagnostic. I went to another mechanic for a second opinion before I went though the hassle of trading it in and they told me that my transmission was fine I just had some damage to the car underneath. It was still pricy to fix but definitely not $3500+. They will try to up sell you before the holidays, take advantage of female customers, and not really look into what is wrong with your car. I also used to go here for my oil changes but it takes hours even with an appointment. read more
