I have been taking my vehicles to the Big O tire store for new tires and periodic other services for as long as I can remember. Today, I took two of my vehicles in. The first was having what I thought was a suspension issue. It turns out, it was in low gear, two-wheel drive, and what I thought was going to be a very expensive repair turned out to be zero dollars. On my other vehicle, my daughter had taken it to a repair shop in Folsom who diagnosed that the vehicle needed front brakes. I had Big O look at it this morning, and not only did it not need front brakes, but it had plenty of brake wear left. Hint: it is not Ghostbusters. :-) It is comforting to have an honest and knowledgeable group of people who have my back when I need it the most. That would be the peeps at El Dorado Hills Big O Tire! I need my car! I need my car running and in good driving order. When some problem arises which may put my vehicle in jeopardy...I panic. That happened a few weeks ago at the end of the day when a light appeared on my dashboard showing a tire pressure issue. With some major trips coming up for me and not knowing where to take my car... I had a toss-and-turn kind of night. Up early the next day with coffee in hand, I searched Yelp. There it was just a few miles from my house. Big O Tire! Wasting not a minute, I drove there and was greeted by Steve behind the counter who immediately took my keys and went to my car to check things out. I was feeling pretty happy and relieved at that point. Upon returning he said they would pull it in the service area and do a more thorough look. Not too long after, he brought a photo of my tire with a nail deeply embedded. Ugh! Unfortunately, I had purchased a set of off brand tires at another tire center about a year or so before so they were not that old. Steve searched for a tire replacement and found the tire brand no longer available. I have AWD, so darn it, all the tires have to match. Well I did end up purchasing new michelins. They scrambled to find them and by the end of the day I was set . Sooo grateful my important next day trip was not compromised. I personally want to thank Steve, Tanner, and Jonathan for all their combined help. What a great team they make! And, owner, Chris Evans, also a very nice guy who had provided some assistance for me but I did not realize he was the owner. Chris has been providing the El Dorado Hills community with reliable automotive service for over 25 years. Wow! I love to support small business owners. Especially owners who are onsite and involved in day-to-day operations. Thanks, Chris. A great big thank you to everyone including the hard-working people in the back. My son in law had a nail in his rear tire. I told him to go to Les Schwab in Folsom but Big O was close to his house. He called and the wanted $25 to fix. He brought the car in and they said they couldn't fix it because it was in an area that required a new tire. I had seen the nail and know with certainty it was fixable. To make matters worse, they said they could order a replacement tire but because it was expensive he should buy two cheaper ones and replace both back tires even though the price of the two cheaper tires were more than the one he needed - he'd have two new tires. The car has 12k miles on it and the tires were fine. This is a classic rip off. He took the car to Les Schwab and not only did they repair it, it was FREE. I'm so disappointed in Big O and will NEVER use them. read more

I needed to replace upper control arm bushings in Audi A6. I checked a few shops and decided to have Big-O-Tires in El Dorado Hills do the work. The main reason was their service advisor Steve. He was very knowledgeable of different options to fix the problem. He was very helpful, non-rushing, and patiently answered all my questions. He made the process convenient, manageable and better than expected. On the day of appointment, I met Justin (Steve's day off) who was aware of the appointment and it was a smooth process. I had an oil change done here recently. Coincidentally, the my air bag system failed that same week. I thought it was their fault. They were so kind in taking a look at it and trying to help. I called this shop 45min before closing to see if they could repair a tire with a screw In it. The sales person on the phone said they were busy and would be closing soon so they cannot do the repair. I then called America's tires. Huge difference in Customer service the guy goes get it here as soon as you can. As long as you get here before closing. We'll take care of it! FYI Americas tires was also busy when I arrived, but they did it anyway! read more

I want say I have great respect for the people and staff that run this business. My son went in fully expecting to buy 4 new tires. He was told he had a defect on one of his tires and because his car is all wheel drive we were fully expecting to have to replace all 4. As a matter of fact, we had already negotiated and priced out the replacements. To my surprise the technician came out, inspected the 'defect' and told my son his tire was fine and it was totally safe to go on his trip tomorrow. I am so impressed with this, that I'm actually writing this review for the 3rd time. I sent a review directly to corporate, but I had accidentally reviewed another business by mistake. I brought my car in and had my oil changed and my tires rotated. They were quick and efficient! Came to find out, they checked my brakes and the rears needed to be done too. My husband had just recently replaced the fronts, but the backs weren't in need at that time. They took very good care of me. For my time and energy, this was a great value! So I came in here, well, because there was a nail in my tire. It was the Saturday before Memorial weekend. We had to be in Danville by 11:30. That's about a 2 hour commute from where we live. I showed up around 7:50, they opened up at 8. I was the 3rd customer in line. Employee ended up selling me all 4 new tires. I got the Michelins, with the service warranty and Nitrogen filled. Idk, I think I got rammed? Haha the price seems pretty good, and it's a work vehicle that I drive over 200 miles a day so, better bet to be on the safe side. The garage was pretty packed already when I got there, I for sure thought I was going to be late. But sure enough, wham bam the car was all done! Less than 2 hours. Well, maybe a little over 2 hours. I was pleased. The gentleman that helped me was great (great salesman that is hahha). Again though it's all good. Personally i think it is important not to nickel and dime those who work on your car, again especially if you drive a lot! You can never put a price on safety, you know what I mean?! Will I be back? Absofuckinglutely! But then again I did by that warranty thing so I kind of have too! Lol You guys are A OK in my book! read more

The Manager/ owner is very rude . Poor customer service and dynamic pricing. I checked with the two closest Big O's in the area and confirmed their pricing, after I was charged, and they were both half the price of this location. When I asked him about it, he simply said that he can charge whatever he wants since they are independently owned. Don't use this location unless you feel like donating to an asshole. read more

Have only been here once, but customer service was exceptional. I needed tired urgently, by the next morning, and didn't call Big O until 4/4:30 PM Even though they had to order the tires (they are a weird tire) I was able to get a new set installed by 1115 the following morning (the tires didn't even arrive until after 10-1030!). I dealt with Steve the evening I called, as well as the following morning. He was very informative, , patient, and friendly. He really did his best to ensure the tires were done by the time I had specified. I will be back next time I need tires, just because Steve was so amazing. Though, I initially spoke with a man named John, who was also very friendly and patient. Customer service at this place is just top notch. read more

Poor attitude. Spoke with store on 7.11.2023 to request a tire replacement. Tire was not in stock and had to be ordered. The store rep stated the tire would be in store on 7.12.23 and replaced no later than 12 pm. I called to follow up as I had not heard from the store at 11:55 and they stated the tire had not arrived as it was coming from a third party. I told the store rep he should have mentioned that yesterday. The store rep called back less than five minutes after I got off the phone to let me know the tire was in the store. I told the store rep I had to take the day off for the repair and felt as I had been lied to. The store rep replied with I don't need to hear that don't come to the store I don't need your business. read more

On our way to Tahoe, we picked up a piece of metal in our tire's sidewall. After speaking to Jonathan, he immediately reassured me that they could take care of the problem. He completed the paperwork in a matter of seconds, and had the vehicle in his shop within five minutes. His staff quickly began to fix the flat and change out the tire. Old fashioned service. I bought tires from another big o last fall and recently one of my tires was punctured. I went today in expecting to have to purchase a new set of tires but instead they fixed up my existing tire for free. The cherry on top was that when I picked up my car they put away all the mess from installing the donut. Everyone there was attentive and helpful. read more

It is a horrible feeling being 500 miles from home with a flat tire and on a tight schedule to return home, but that's exactly what happened to my wife and I this past weekend. We were attending a wedding in the area and were packing up to leave the hotel parking lot, when I noticed the low tire pressure and the nail in our tire. Ugh... We quickly found a solution across the street with this company, Big O Tires. I met the person in charge (??) who told me not to worry about it, and they would fix the tire within the hour. Every once in a while, I've tried to give them another chance, but it's just not worth it, they act like you're bothering them. I just pulled in. I heard them talking. Showed up for new tires with no appointment. Steven was great, got us what we needed and we were out the door within the hour.

Today was a wonderful experience! My car had sat for 3 weeks and I drove for the first time today after hip replacement surgery. The battery seemed to fail, I got a jump start from a friendly stranger and some very scary notifications came up on my dash. Traction control turned off all wheel drive system malfunction 2 Wheel Dr. mode engaged visit your dealer I called my Toyota service dept where I was told I could not speak to a technician (liability issues) I called an independent garage who said to start with a "battery inspection" I took the car to BIG O. Mike and Steve met me in the parking lot and brought out the diagnostic tool that told exactly what was going on. They charged me nothing for the visit and I went out of there with no problems at all. Thank you I will no longer use the "dealership" for anything. Sucks too because I look forward to helping businesses close to me. But this one never again. Bottom line, these folks are looking to sell you tires and not much else. Brought my pickup in with a nail in the tire and they told me that they could not patch it because it was too close to the shoulder blocks (they all say this). But of course they'd sell me a tire for $200. Since I replace tires in sets, I just had them put the spare on and I was on my way. When I pulled the spare off and went to patch the tire myself, I discovered that they had decided to pull the center out of the valve stem rendering the tire completely unable to hold air!! I also have no idea if they pulled the TPMS sensor out too. There was no reason to pull the valve stem other than to render the tire inop, and they should have replaced it once I wasn't going to buy a tire. Like I said, selling tires is their goal, not applying a quick and inexpensive patch that'll last you the life of the tire. read more

I called, ordered a set of tires, and was told that I could bring my car in at 10:00. This led me to believe that I had an "appointment". The next day I called to verify my tires were in. I was then informed that they "do not make appointments", first come, first served. So the next morning I arrived at 8:02 as they open at 8. But every bay was full by then and the shop was crowded. I was told I could leave it and pick it up several hours later. Not how I operate. So I cancelled my order and set off to find a new tire dealer. This was the second time I have had a problem with Big O, but since this was a different store close to my house I would give Big O another shot! Fail! I can only hope to get my $250 deposit back. p.s. No one in the store was wearing a mask nor were there any signs of "social distancing". read more

I should've never went to other Big O Tires. I should've just stayed at this one even though it's 30 min from my house. The other ones just do not stack up compared to this place. The other big o locations apparently don't know how to do an alignment right on my 2008 toyota tacoma prerunner. I've had to go back multiple times to get my alignment fixed after other locations tried and couldn't get it right the first time. The one in folsom couldn't get it right at all actually. So this location got it done on the first try and I didn't have to go back. They have great service and aren't associated with the one in folsom or east sac so that's a good thing. Will be coming back here from now on to get my truck serviced. No appointment needed unless it's an alignment. read more

My car was serviced here the other day for a burning oil smell that was coming through the ac, was told after inspection it's most likely the steering pump and oil filter, was told they don't do oil filters on bmw which is fine. Had the steering pump fixed for 700$ and then was told to ask jiffy lube (that's where I got my oil change from) to tighten the oil filter..... went there the next day just for them to show me how easy it was to tighten, laugh at how this place couldn't do that for me since honestly now that I saw it, it's so simple, and to say that it's not even the oil filter is a whole other thing just by looking at my cars engine for 10 seconds... ridiculous that I had to go through all that just to find out it's something completely different Edit- Steve called me asking if they could check it out again just to confirm what is going on, they checked me in really quick and showed me exactly what was wrong and seemed to be just a miscommunication, everything worked out and I will continue to come here when I need something fixed! read more

Their work flow management is poor. I got a quote on 4 tires and decided to go with them. I dropped car off and 3 hours later I came back to check on car. ALL of their service bays were empty. When I asked about the status they said, coincidentally, my car was next. Yah right. Only then did they start on the car. This business could obviously care less. read more
